The capital of Sikkim is Gangtok. And to reach here, you can go to New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. From the railway station, sharing Sumo takes you to Gangtok for Rs. 300 to Rs. 400. While bus is for Rs. 150 to Rs. 200. But it is a little difficult to get sharing options from the airport.
And you have to pay Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000 to reach Gangtok from a private car. From both Bagdogra and Siliguri, Gangtok is about 120 km away. And it takes about 4 hours to reach there. It is about 10 o'clock in the morning. There will be a problem in my voice in the video.
By the way, I have come to Sikkim many times. But I have not been able to go to Gurudongar Lake till now. So, the car is about to come in a while. We will go to Lachen Village and stay there. And then we will also go to Gurudongar Lake. And it is going to be a very beautiful video. You will see beautiful places.
But you cannot go to this trip of North Sikkim just like that. Because it is in the border area. And you cannot go here without a permit. The Aadhaar card is not acceptable for the permit.
But voter ID, passport or driving license is acceptable. There are many places in Sikkim where you need permit and whether it is Lachen or Lachung, even if it is Gurudongar Lake, you need a permit to go there. So, here is my permit. Because in 2023, the road here was flooded in the flood. That's why the road has been diverted. And there is an extra 40 km of road. The roads are good in some places and bad in others.
But the whole road is very beautiful. Which include villages, mountain, old bridge, river. Right now, there is some traffic here. And if you look at the roads, you will find it very bad here, no doubt.
Because there was a lot of flood here about 1.5 years ago. At that time, there was a lot of loss here. That's why the roads are like this. And right now, what you are seeing, this is the teesta river here, which runs with you throughout this journey. So, right now, the flow is low here.
But as the April, June comes, the flow will increase here. The view of the entire valley is very beautiful. The tour of North Sikkim is the most popular in the entire Sikkim. Because nature keeps surprising you here. And I reached Lachen about 7 in the evening.
The journey of about 8 to 9 hours is over and welcome to Lachen village. Slowly, slowly, in about 2 to 3 hours, I think we will reach. So, let's see the scenery. Gurudongmar Lake is about 60 km from Lachen of which starting roads of 4-5 Kms are very bad but after that, it is very good. Which gives a feel of being in the Sikkim.
Gurudongmar Lake is 45 minutes away from here. This is checkpost here and here permit will be checked and you can also eat something here. You get this option. But the wind is blowing very fast here. And it is cold. So, keep warm clothes with you.
And keep your gloves, cap, socks, etc. Here, you must carry some food with you. Because you get some food only at the last military camp.
And in these camps, the permit is also checked. And only after this, the landscapes change completely. It feels like we have come to Ladakh. I mean, you can see all the sand mountains here.

I have reached Gurudongmar Lake. I will make you see in a few seconds. Don't know about others but this is like a dream for me.
I will tell you the story of that also. First, watch this lake. This is the lake for which people come from so far. It is right in front of you. It is blue in color.
You can see the wave over there. It is very beautiful. Let me enjoy it. Gurudongmar Lake is at a height of 5183 meters above sea level. In the 8th century, Guru Padmasambhava named this place Gurudongmar.
There is a feel in the air. You can feel it only when you come here. Even in this heat, the minus degrre temperature is common. That's why spending half an hour is enough here. China is only a few kilometers away from here.
When I came to Sikkim on my first trip in 2019, it was not possible to come here because the landslide happened as soon as I came to Lachen. I had to wait for a long time. I had planned to go to Gurudongma Lake before 2019. Then I planned again in 2023 but there was flood in lachen. Today is the day when it is possible. I have reached here. Today is 19th March.
Welcome to Gurudongma Lake. It is a very beautiful lake and it is worth visit. The landscapes that you will see here are not only Gurudongma Lake, but the whole journey is beautiful. You should definitely enjoy it in life. I went back to Lachen from Gurudongma Lake bu,t today stay was in Lachung Which was 110 Kms away from Gurudongma lake and from Lachen was 50 Kms away.
Before sunset, I was welcomed here. It is 8.30 AM in Lachung and we are going to cover 2-3 points from here. Which will take half day and then we will have lunch here. We are going to Yumthang Valley, Zero point and Katao where I haven't visited yet so that is going to be new experience. The best season to visit Lachen or Lachung is from October to June. However, the weather here changes anytime.
Today we were going to go to Katao from Lachen, which is not included in the package. But you can pay some extra and get it added. Katao is 20 kilometers away from Lachung. But there is also a cute cafe on this road. Many foreigners were seen in this corner of India.
And the views were also very beautiful from here. Katao was just a few kilometers away from here. And the roads were showing the raw picture of nature in which there was nothing artificial. I have reached Mount Katao and the most attractive point of here is this Khanda waterfalls. The bridge and this waterfall are here. And you can see the mountain range from here. and the view of Mount Katao is very beautiful. There is a lot of snow on the road and there are not many shops here. There is only one shop here and most important thing if you don't like much crowd so here there are less tourist.
