Paddling a WILD RIVER to a Cozy Cabin with my Dog!
How was it? It was great. Oh, my gosh. Ellie and I barely fit. But we did. And we saw tons of wildlife.
We saw ducks. We saw, trumpeter swans. We saw an otter. Did Ellie jump in the water at all? Oh, of course. That's so great. So you guys, I just got that pack raft and, had the crazy idea of hiking it out to a Saint Francis river and then rafting back towards the cabin.
but now for the rest of the day, we're just going to hang out, do a little bit of hiking. We'll make a fire later, make some good food, and, just enjoy being out in the woods on our first, like, really, really, really warm day of the spring. There's no bugs, which, if you know about if you know about Minnesota, you know that it is bug central.
so, it's really nice to just be enjoying the outside without having to, like, worry about any bugs. Made some lettuce wraps here with pepper Jack cheese and some buffalo style chicken breast. It should be really, really good and healthy. Which is, rare for me out here. It's so good, so fresh.
And, just the perfect thing for lunch. After hiking and paddling for such a ways. All right.

So we're going to go on a hike right? Olivia. Okay. We're. You guys are seeing the reality. so we're going to go on a hike right now. It's a little hot, so we’re going to get going here.
Yeah, they're going to actually head home after this. We're only like, 45 minutes away from where we live. but we figured we got to get out on a hike together before they do, so we're going to get after it.
All right. Ready? Ready. Let's do this. So, you guys, the pine trees here are actually planted. So that's what makes this area so special, is you don't get the pine trees like this unless you're going up north. So it's pretty cool to be able to get a taste of the north woods further south.
And it got the name Sand Dunes because this area is just full of sand. There's sand all through the soil. There's no actual dunes, but that's the actual reason why these trees were planted in the first place. It used to be farmland and they had no luck with it. So they decided to plant these trees. And now we have this awesome forest.
So, guys, does this look familiar? I attempted to stay in this trail shelter this winter, but it was just too beat up. So I ended up staying in a tarp. Which is funny because that's exactly what I did last week. Not here, but at a completely different forest. So if you missed last week's video, go check that out. Oh yeah, know what? I do not blame you for, choosing to sleep in the tarp.
All right, guys, it is time to whip up some dinner. We're going with a classic tonight. We're going to make some, burritos.
However, we're going to do so in a bowl. I don't have any tortilla wraps, so it's just going to be like burrito bowl. but it's going to be good. Thank you for a great day.

The sun is out. It's incredible. I feel like summertime is really, like, travel cabin season.
Where we take this cabin out a lot more because, there's just so much more we can do as a family. In fact, we're actually taking two trips out West, in this cabin this summer and fall.
