And the water you see down there is all rain water and it has a pH of almost zero that makes it super toxic Good morning Internet, it's 7:15 in the morning   And welcome back to the channel.  Welcome here at the Volcano Turrialba Let me step back a little bit Volcano Turrialba And uh.. I'm just going to open the gate now and then I'm off. Today is going to be   Well, I think not much riding because today  I'm riding to the capital of Costa Rica   Which is San Jose and that's only 40 kilometers And well I'm going to the capital because I'm gonna go past the Honda dealer there to pick up   some spare parts. I don't need any parts right this moment but it's good to have them when   I'll need them.. for example a new air filter, I've already changed my air filter once I've already

used up my spare. I'll quickly show you on the map. See so this is what I did in the last video   And San Jose is just over here and I'm now here at the volcano. So as you can see this is Costa Rica   So I'm already halfway Costa Rica. It's going a little bit fast with such a tiny country Right, I'm just gonna hand back the key of  the little house at the main farm there Last look on the volcano. Wow, it is truly  spectacular

Costa Rica has 120 volcanoes Crazy right? And seven of them are active So plenty of volcanoes around here Everything okay yes? - Yes, all good! Thank you With pleasure - Nice to meet you. Good luck! Bye! Alright, on to San Jose we go From the Costa Rican countryside straight into the big city Look, this is their pasture. Where the  cows are walking around the whole day Pretty good life Look at this view. Oh amazing

So beautiful above some of the clouds and you get high mountains in the background. Oh stunning San Jose. I am in the city This seems to be the motorcycle district.  I just see motorcycle shops everywhere Let's see, somewhere here Oh yeah, I see it.. Honda Here it is Thank you, bye! - Have a good journey! Okay so um.. I got another air filter. I don't have to put it in right now but it's good to take with me I was actually thinking.. you know let me  buy two but they only had one and they didn't have

brake pads which is also not a massive problem because I don't need to.. need to change them yet   But I was thinking you know let me start  looking for them. They're not so big or heavy   So I can just carry them with me. But they  didn't have them so now I'm just going to   Find a place to stay for tonight, I'm going to stay here in San Jose and then we'll continue after What a difference riding in a  big city where you've just come   From the mountains or from a volcano right Back in traffic Alright, time to leave the city already. I don't feel like hanging around   In the city, I rather go check out some more volcanoes   So that's exactly what I'm going to do. We're going to ride first to quite a famous uh.. active volcano   Here in Costa Rica which is called Poás and it's about an hour ride. I'm actually running a little

bit late because you need to make an appointment  to visit it and then you get a certain time slot   And I think it's an hour ride to get there And my time slot starts in 55 minutes Oh oh Well, if I'm gonna have.. .. Traffic jams as well then I'll definitely  not make it in time This is the entrance I think Hello, good morning - Good morning Did you bring your reservation? - Yes, yes But at 8:40 - No problem, you can pass - Okay Bye! - See you later! Alright 300 meters Put it next to the other bike, in the direction to go out Okay yeah Reverse parking Well, he did wrong Motos Alright, let's check out this volcano. I'm  pretty excited about it So they gave me a red helmet but basically that's code for.. so they can see how long I've been here   Because I'm only allowed to be here for.. whoo, it's windy There might be some toxic gases that's why I can only stay for 20 minutes at the time. I hope you can hear me because it's super windy

And the water you see down there is all rain  water and it has a pH of almost zero that makes   it super toxic and what you get is rain water  infiltrating in the rock and the geothermal   heat from below then causes pressurized  steam and you get these huge explosions So the Poás crater is a mile across in diameter and this makes it one of the largest if not the   largest craters in the world This volcano is 600 000 years old that's what they estimate incredible right? What a place.. stunning. The last big eruption was in 2017 And then they actually closed off the entire area for 17 months you were not allowed to get anywhere close because it was so dangerous I'm going to continue the ride. I actually  didn't tell you yet what my plan is   For today um.. but I'll show you on the map  this afternoon, when I find a place to stay   What uh.. what I did but for now we're just gonna ride basically towards the Pacific coast again I have arrived at quite a famous bridge You see how busy it is here See where I can park safely Next to the police seems safe enough for me So you will see why this is such a famous bridge In a minute.. because this bridge is actually  the home of some permanent residents. Oh wow

You see them? Oh my, they're so big. Look at that one That one is really big. Wow these are American crocodiles   And they always seem to be hanging around here This is the other side of the bridge. See there's another one there

Right those were some Costa Rican crocodiles. Now I'm gonna head on this road towards ferry There we are. The Pacific. I have reached the coast again So you might be able to see some land in the distance there. That is part of the peninsula   And that's also where I'm gonna cross  with the ferry to reach the peninsula So I end up somewhere on that side. Hopefully this afternoon

I'm early, I still have quite some time before   It goes, I had to already book a ticket online before.. which I did Hello! The girl there tells me that I have to show.. Ah No, I already have. Yes! - Online?

With this, they will receive you in front but you can't embark yet, they first have to disembark Okay, to Paquera right? But first they have to get out, before you can enter - I wait Okay Do I have to go here or in front? Where ever there is a vehicle you can go next Okay But if you want, you can go in a little while because it's too sunny Ah Ah, I'm already here It's okay, but thank you! Okay, I'll just have to wait now. She was  like, are you sure you want to go stand   here because you have to wait in the sun.  So sweet but yeah I'm already here anyway So I bought the tickets already online. It was like five thousand something colones which is uh   Eight or nine dollars or something Hello Thank you It's a proper big ferry this one Oeh Yeah, yeah We are here. They told me it's about an hour and a half crossing, I think. So I'll uh

Actually bring the map and have some  time to show you where I'm going. Okay So this is where I came from, the Volcano Turrialba. Volcano Poás back down towards Wait.. Yeah, Puntarenas So this is the area that I want to  go to.. to the peninsula so I'm just   going to cross the ferry here to this side called.. to a place called Paquera Now? He says.. go around

That's such a bad idea So it's our fourth city so yeah it took an hour and a half. So I'm not gonna ride uh very far Oh it smells like the ocean here Not surprisingly Let's take the dirt here. I think that's a good idea That's what I came here for actually because   The peninsula has a reputation of  having plenty of dirt roads Hello Hello Alright, I found a place to stay but this day  is not over yet, I'm going to do something really   amazing I think and I learned about this when I was studying at a university and now is the first   time I'm going to see this in real life and it's  a phenomenon called bioluminescence and so it has   to be dark for that, it has to be night time. So I am going to try and film it but fingers crossed I

have no idea if I am able to capture it on camera. Go Pros are not really good in.. in the night time   So I fiddled around with the settings a little  bit and I put a light on there so hopefully   I'll be able to capture it for you as well, I'm  going to do my best but if not then you'll just   have to listen to my little oohs and ahs and wow, this is amazing. Um so I'm going to meet up with   Eddie who lives in this house here and he's going to show me.. show to me, I think we're going to go   with kayaks so that's also pretty cool. Kayaking in the night time in Costa Rica.. what can go wrong?

Hello, hello girl - Eddie! Pura vida! Girl from the Netherlands, welcome, welcome Eddies bioluminescence The best tour available on the planet Yes - Okay, let's do it Come! Alright, I'm not in a kayak but in.. in a little boat   And we're about to leave so let's see  if we can find some bioluminescence Gonna be super colorful Alright so that was it. I don't think you could see any of that   I really tried my best to film it and capture it  but I.. I don't think I managed at all. I obviously

I couldn't use the extra light because  then you don't see the bioluminescence   And so it has to be super, super dark and then I just uh.. yeah didn't manage I'm so super sorry   About that, but for me oh, it was magical and it was a shame that it was very.. the.. the moon   was very bright that was a bit of a shame. Um.. without the moon it would have been even better   But then again it was also pretty special  that you could still see the bioluminescence   Even with a bright moon shining. Um, so yeah it was really, really cool. Um where am I? Um.. oh yes, I'm staying somewhere here

So that was it for today, I really hope you liked this video If you did please give me a big thumbs up. Subscribe down below and then I'll see in the next video
