[Music] welcome to the AA Valley We've Come First St  to a Berber village where locals live so I'm   on a guided tour there are three stops now  where we are now the orka valley has got a   lot of vegetation cuz you've got the river coming  through olives lots of olive trees uh Quints plums   when you get further up there's cherries so I'm  looking forward to seeing that hopefully there's   some actual food that we can eat but this area  is known for the plants and the and the vegge   and the fruit we are also being followed by  children who I think of trying to sell us things three generation are living here okay it's  typical bread of the valley that's what we cook   here a lot that's what we do a lot that's  what you're going to try with tea olive oil in learn how to make the Moroccan tea so the  ingredients granos tea you know so always the   green tea first green tea you're going to see  here this sugar is typical sugar in Morocco   it's different than the one that you can find  everywhere you go this one you bought it like   2 kilos after that we break it to small pieces  then we make it in our te after that we're going   to use a different plants you know as you know  during the year here with a lot of plants in   our teas it depends of the Season it depends  if you have a problem with from a problem so   we must use something that will help us for this  problem and different thing it's cold or hot it's   okay as well for example here we have verbina you  know lemon verbina herbal verbina lemon verbina   so verbina is the famous plant here that we use  at night why at night because it helps to sleep   against insomnia so it's more relaxing that's  why we prefer to use our teeth at night herbal   Visa the geranium is the best thing that we use  for blood circulation that's why many people are   doing in the te for blood circulation maram maram  it's very famous so this one after eating it means   for digestion it's more healthy that's why after  eating we use a lot of mam in our te sometimes th   and oregano the first thing the first thing that  we should do it will be the green tea and the te guys you know after put it the  green tea it's time to add tiny bit   of boiling [Music] water so when we add  the water it's time to shake it you know   shake it so it will be for washing the  green tea we're going to wash the green tea after that we throw it away so this  we don't use it for something special so   we threw it away so the green tea always  end you see always the green tea end okay   because there's a filter here any so this step  for three reasons the first reason to clean the   green tea the second reason to make wet the leaf  of the green tea when it is wet will be opened   so after that it will be easy to give the flavor  this is how it is going and the third step you see   it's dark color it means there is a percentage  of the flavor is going out why because we have   to break the flavor the green tea so after  that it's time to put the sugar and the lot sugar it's okay so after putting the sugar we have to make  it full with the boiling water now we make it full   with the boiling water okay so guys when we make  full the now we're going to find the boiling water   the sugar and the green tea so it's time to  boil it for 1 minute or 2 minutes we have to   put in the fire again for boiling it okay  that's it you see this one the color of it   it's like a bit darker but this one is light  you see two types of mint okay that's it you   should know here Morocco we have five types  of mint that exist everywhere you go if you   like to buy a plant that it used for the tea  you're going to see that there is five types of   mint if you go around the wall you're going to  find more than 300 type of mint now the tea is   already boiled so now it's time to add the plants  to it we are going to start by verbina first okay so about the absent we put Verina  verum time and absent tiny tiny because   strong if Mo okay that's and we are  going to put mint Min it's a lot okay that's okay so after putting everything  on the T in the T it's time to mix it   but we mix it by using another  glass okay we have to make it full then we return it back to the same teapot  you know this step it will be always to make   the flavor out you know so it's logic if the  plant are stable it will take time to give the   flavor but with the movement the flavor will  come out of course if the sugar is sticky down   we're going to make one flavor in all the teapot  okay that's it so we have to do it couple times   you know and this is tradition to do it higher  do you know why no you know why we do it higher no for the show the we are very shy know uh you have right I'm sure many people do  will say bubbles they will say to cool it you   know oxygen and different things but if you go  back to the past so the first person who did the   Tea higher it used to be to save the glasses  because the glasses in the past were not good   quality most of them get broke you know that's  why someone I don't know who okay someone started   the weight higher they found that it's possible  to save the glasses by the wind that t higher   but from that time till now we still using it now  it's a culture it's tradition to do it higher for   other reasons to cool it you are right also for  me as a maker of the tea I have to do it higher   to see the bubbles you because the bubbles will  give me an idea if the tea is ready or not yet so the people that live here are called  the berbers however that is seen a little   bit derogatory because that comes from the  Roman influence of barbarous or Barbarian   as English speakers would know so  actually they prefer to be called   amazir so they are the amazer people and  that basically is Morocco going to the   west of Egypt morania um and Algeria as well so  Aamir yeah call them that that's the first stop   done we are moving on uh talking about ethnicities  I do feel a little bit left out here because   pretty much everyone are either Spanish or French  um and I'm the only one that is English so yeah I   get special treatment apparently today because I'm  they're speaking English to me [Applause] [Music] so this is what we really wanted from the Ora  Valley we're walking up the mountain towards   the waterfall and to the left of us is the  river the stream coming down it is crystal   clear and as you can see lots of seats color from  everyone that gets to eat there look at this how   beautiful it's not the easiest of Journeys  check what we're having to get up here we go all the way up this walk there's locals  trying to sell either their produce that   they've made or obviously that they've brought  in so here got rugs just laying there because   there's a lot of tourists coming up and down  and they're obviously hoping to sell so on   this trip we had obviously the first stop at  the lady's house we had bread tea given to us   second stop was at a herbal medicine place  which just a basic used to sell stuff to us   then we've gone going up to the waterfall  then we'll be having a meal later uh next   to the river there you go things being made  by hand you see here we are talking about the rock okay so I want a black cat  now tell me how much first how much   15 150 you can do 100 100 can do 100 100 100  and I take 1 100 and I take no 100 and I take   100 okay well I did make a purchase uh a stone  cat cuz obviously we're cat people if anyone   knows us that can be a present to Charlie um but I  don't mind because it was I paid 100 dim which is   about £7 something um but I don't mind because  it's actually handmade you saw them making it   it's not just junk come from China so I don't  mind that one that's okay nice little gift for Charlie step by step on this rugged Trail the  air is crisp the wind Tells A Tale mountains   rise reaching for the sky Oracle Whispers  as the moments fly [Music] my God this is a mission very uneven all the way up but it's still able to do it 65  Dutchman he can do it so I can do it easy Valley climbing up to the waterfall's  call where the echo dance and the   waters fall Steep and Rocky but I  won't turn back the summit's beauty   lights my [Music] track oh my God I'm  exhausted this is treacherous coming up here we were told about the hour  and a half hike but we weren't told about the terrain of the  hike we've reached the top oh wow down we have reached the waterfall check this out well this is the waterfall that we  were trying to get to it's quite nice   lots of tourists up here now the funny thing  is Charlie went to Bulgaria about a month ago   and she went up a mountain but I don't think  the terrain was quite as steep as what I've   just had to do not easy but I made it is it  a nice waterfall yeah nice want to be on on camera lots of people up here now I'm going let  you know the cost so it was €20 that included   obviously the coach and there's three stops  oh no four stops there was the Berber house   then there was a medicinal home remedy type  stuff uh then we obviously made this trip up   here to the the waterfall and then we'll be  having dinner which we have to pay for by the   river that we saw earlier on I'm exhausted now  I am truly exhausted um I do dread going down   because actually people really needed help going  down because it's slippery it's you're stepping on   rocks but we'll have some fun shall we where the  echo dance and the waters fall Steep and Rocky   but I won't turn back the sun it's Beauty lights  my track now I stand where the waters Le a secret KY yeah going down is definitely  worse I reckon my wife yes oh God poor choice of shoes yeah I wish I  had my Nike Jord I didn't have my Nike   Jordans on and had walking boots  instead uh okay this is the tricky bit the reached the bottom it was  definitely more dangerous coming   down with a few chances of slipping SL  couple of slips uh we are now going to   find a place to eat so I'll try some more  morocc and food on this trip that should be nice well all the other people on the tour  they are sitting at the tables and I thought   no I'm going sit on my own the only Englishman  no one's talk to me so apart from the Dutch man   who's lovely but I'm going to sit on the floor as  you can see right next to the river but it's cold   oh yes it is cold but it's just so clear it's  beautiful the only issue I've got is it is so   touristy it's unbelievable now I get it these  tour companies do it cheap um and then link up   with the other businesses the restaurant here  for example so that they all work together to   try and make money but I think I would have  preferred just renting a car and going on my   own somewhere or getting some public transport  and just going than actually doing this paid   tour I know it was only 2020 but I think the  the Dutch man said it really well it's like   going to the base camp at Mount Everest now  is just a queue just a queue so I'll let you   know later if I recommend or not so same as  my first evening in the middle of the Town   Square in maresh red well it's warm at least  that's a plus uh with the chilies and olives   there that chili sauce was ridiculous the  other day and I started off with an omelette   with sort of salad on the side let's give  it a try let's see could do a bit of salt probably it's not bad do a little bit of salt  maybe a bit of seasoning probably not as good   as my chicken's eggs at home but it's an okay  sty well the main course is served chips some   rice and some chicken skewers let's give it a try  let's I just go mouth in no point of using on for cuz that tomato is really hot oh tastes decent to be fair it does  grilled barbecue there's not I don't   think it's easy to go wrong with grilled chicken   like on a barbecue style skewer COA  type thing um chips they are french fries what just going we do a bit of salt the  one thing I do feel quite sad about there's still   loads of cats even here there's loads of cats in  mares itself but I feel really bad for them cuz   they clearly want food I might just save a little  bit of chicken and give them there's a little gray   one there so might be getting some in a minute  I did give her a little stroke and we finish off   with a flam I think I'd call this a blamon I think  it's more of a blamon but who [Music] knows yeah   it's right hello so I W Rob he's in Ora Valley  I wore his guide for today so I hope that it was   a nice trip today yeah helped us get up the  mountain right yeah of course you're invited   to do the highest pick in the north of AF you  could have given me you could have given me a   piggy back why not with my pleasure yeah  next time in okay [Music] [Laughter] [Music] that's that tour done so a valley in the Atlas  Mountains what do I make of it okay well I   probably wouldn't do it again it was nice to see  um but it was really really busy uh it was a bit   mental and I think there are better places to  go even the tour guide who was lovely he even   said that there's better places to go it's  just a waterfall and he was correct it was   just a waterfall uh my legs are doing well now  that was a nice um bit of exercise for them so   Yuri Couture I'd probably give it out of 10 a  four out of 10 it was a bit boring it wasn't   the most exciting maybe I should have gone on on a  camel ride because I've never done that before but   I didn't so we'll live and we learn but there is  another Vlog done for you
