DREAM GUESTHOUSE in Hunza Valley

DREAM GUESTHOUSE in Hunza Valley

Show Video

Good afternoon, guys and welcome back to another video here in Pakistan specifically in Hunza Valley here with the Posh brothers for another video. Here we've got the British legend up front, you know quite well after 46 videos here in Pakistan. This is number 47 and I want to start this video by saying we finally found an ATM. Well, Mr. Posh already had the idea a while ago but to be fair on our end, we tried like four national banks maybe two weeks ago and none of them worked. And so we were going off

this list of international banks to use and so this bank called Bank Alfalah and when we drive past it, I’ll- I’ll show you guys on camera what it looks like. There you could tell as soon as you walked up because it has like marketing for all the different cards like American Express MasterCard, visa et cetera, et cetera. So that was a good sign that it was an international. It works with international cards and so we finally have cash because we've been running pretty low lately. So let's get on with the day. What's next boys? You're going to the Moksha, Moksha resort. Alright, so we're gonna give you guys a tour of where we're gonna be staying here. It's a different place than

we stayed at the last couple nights here in the Hunza Valley. So let's get on with it. Here’s the bank guys, Bank Alfalah. So you can go there and withdraw your money with an international card. So that is

great news. So guys we're making a quick stop here at the gas station and it's always interesting to see which countries you pump your own gas or if someone pumps it, so it looks like here we do have someone pumping it and the cost per liter is about 145. So we're looking at just under a dollar probably about 80 cents per liter. So I’ll tell you once we fill up, how much it costs to fill up an SUV here so you guys can have an idea of what gas prices are. So guys to fill up like a big SUV like this at 145 per liter times 90

liters is about 13 000 rupees here and so what that is in US dollars so you guys can have an idea here, it's about 73 US dollars. So quite a bit actually, more than I’d expect it would be in Pakistan. Obviously the amount to fill up a car is gonna depend on the type of car you have, the amount of gas or miles per gallon your car takes but I think you guys probably are aware of all that but that's what a 4x4 will get you. And how many kilometers do you get in a 4x4? Exactly figure I don't know but from Gilgit to Hunza 2 and a half. So 250 kilometers. Obviously, that's gonna change if you're doing some mountain driving like we are and it requires more gas usage but that gives you guys a general idea. Here we go. And how long till we get to our destination? It could take like

around 30 or 40 minutes. 30 or 40 minutes, alright. So guys we're cruising over for the last 30 minutes or so and look at what we're looking at. We've got the blue water. We’ve got snow-capped mountains in the distance. We're even seeing some pretty nice houses, there's somewhat of a mansion. I guess you could even call it raid on their own mountain. Imagine that being your place. You get to go sleep and you wake up every morning, you got a like hundred meter drop off cliff mountains in every direction.

Now that's what I call living the Hunza dream. I love these windy roads so they just twist and turn to the mountains. So guys as you can tell, it just went pitch black in here. It's actually because we're driving through this massive tunnel that takes seven minutes to drive through at 80 kilometers per hour and it's quite impressive. It took eight to nine years to build this massive thing and how long did it take to get to this part of Hunza previously? Previously, we used the boat.

The boat, oh wow. Yeah, they had to take a boat before so you can just imagine how much this changed the whole area when they were able to connect it like this which is just so impressive. And up in this area, I’ve noticed I mean ever since if you guys saw the videos where we were taking the road trip up from Swat, you can just see how much of an influence or support that China has towards Pakistan and helping them build this insane architecture. You can just tell by the designs of these tunnels, it's from the Chinese architectures. You know because China's quite well-known for building insanely massive, just mega tunnels through mountains. Oh look at this. We’re coming up on the lake here guys.

Let there be lights again and that is Attabad Lake. It's really just such an incredible part of both Hunza up here as well as seeing the partnership. You can actually see a sign right up here that says Pak-China friendship tunnel and you see that on a lot of the different pieces of infrastructure here. As I’m thinking next summer, we're gonna have to make a visit over there. Oh actually my buddy Luke Damant stayed at that one. I recognized in his thumbnail,

the green like turf up top. So I’ve never actually watched that video from Luke, it's just I wanna say it's the main one when you go to his YouTube channel and it's got the picturesque view when you walk out you have the mountain surrounding it. Next summer's itinerary guys. Get a boat out there too. So guys not gonna tell you too much more about Attabad lake because in some upcoming videos, we're gonna be doing some fun stuff like taking a speedboat out there. So make sure you hit that subscribe button so you don't miss out on that video because I have a feeling it's gonna be a fun one. What do you think? Yeah, it will be very amazing. Very amazing. With the speedboat, that's for the drone shots. Oh yeah, so you're ready for that guys.

So guys, we're making a quick stop over here at the Gojal police station here. Pretty nice police station with these views of the mountains on the left side, as you can see here. And we're just getting checked in registered as the tourists here exploring this side of Pakistan and we're gonna head over to the hotel, show you guys where we're staying for the night. Let's do it. And

guys as you can see, we are home aka at Moksha resort literally this is home for me right now because as you guys know, I don't live anywhere. I’m a full-time traveler so wherever my suitcase and my body is that's where I’m living so this is home. Yeah so if you ask me where I live right now, I’ll literally tell you I live in Hunza Valley. I like the design of it and we're walking and I’m loving the design here, fuel morgan verkohlt. Oh we have German here. For tomorrow I can't remember what verkohlt means. I used to actually speak German guys but it's quite rusty now.

Oh and we are here. Salaam Alaikum [Peace be upon you]. Welcome please. Thank you very much. Mr. Faiz Ali, it's a pleasure to meet you. Nice to meet you. Walking in and this is it, very beautiful. We've got a little hangout area with some warm blankets and huge bay windows to look out in the mountains. Very beautiful and a little patio out there to hang out on and here's the kitchen area. Perfect. Hello. Alright, nice to meet you. Alright, looks amazing. Hello, Assalamu Alaikum [Peace be upon you]. Hello, it's actually for Summer,

close. We’ll have to come back here again next summer then. Got our room right over here. Alright, this looks great. Got the cheetah print bro, looks very comfortable and cozy. And in here, we've got the bathroom and the light switch there, got the shower. Looks like a pretty comfortable bathroom, western toilet and a sink. Very nice,

looks very comfortable. So we will offer you one extra blanket as well. Okay. Need an extra mattress we can give you- Perfect. that as well. Thank you so much. You both sleep on that. Awesome, thank you so much. Thank you very much. And Harry's already warming up over here, got the heater. What was your good name?

Fahad, it's a pleasure to meet you. Thank you. Oh, I really appreciate that. So we've got the Wi-Fi. We've got some fresh coffee here. Thank you so much, amazing hospitality here. Thank you sir. So guys that's gonna be a nice little addition to add in some nice coffee along with a heater to get us warm. It's quite cold up here in Hunza. As you guys

have seen in all the videos especially at night. It seems like we're starting to get some of that winter cold coming in. Alright, guys I’m gonna go get some food out here in the lobby area. So we're gonna see what they've got on the menu here. Seems like there's a lot of other guests here and let's see what we should get to order. This is the menu here, looks like we've got it right up top there. So

we've got quite a few options there and we'll have to see what they recommend, probably get a espresso and some soup. That looks pretty good and something traditional. Yes, what would you recommend for me to order for like traditional food? Yeah please. Whatever you recommend, that’s delicious. It's mutton actually and in the gravy, with some flour, cook it for some time and then serve it with apricot. Oh that sounds perfect. Yeah

maybe I’ll have that done please. Okay. Yeah and then is there like a warm soup I could have? Yeah, I’m making local soup for your friend as well, so you can share. Sweet. Yeah make one for you as well. That'd be great. Thank you so much. I’m sorry. I think your partner got i wrong, I said your partner. No worries. Sometimes- sometimes Yeah no problem, sometimes people think that. So I always have to just make it very clear so no worries at all

but thank you so much. So we're gonna get some delicious local food here guys. I’m excited for it especially some warm soup. Well, it's out here in the cold weather so we'll show you guys what we're gonna have as soon as the food is all ready. Here it is. Did you get it? I got I don't even know the name of it. She just gave me a recommendation and I’m also getting a soup like you did. Yeah guys, basically what

the lady was- was mentioning about the partner thing is Harry walked out there and ordered his food and she was like are you gonna order for your partner and it was more of a language barrier because the thing is they gave us this bed to share and so as soon as they said that to Harry, I went out there. This wasn't recording. I was just like hey by the way, you know come here [___] We’re straight males, like we're just friends with vloggers together and so you know when I went back out there, she felt bad you know because she felt you know kinda bad that it was the language barrier. So just remember that sometimes people may say something and you know they don't mean in the way they did so you know we all got a good laugh out of it, as you saw. No worries there but we'll have, we'll have a separate roll out bed, so the hair bear gets his own bed let's put it that way. Alright, time to have some delicious chow. Oh perfect. This is such a nice setup you guys have here. Oh and it's nice guys.

We’ve got a little heater under there, so my feet are getting nice and warmed up, very good setup. Oh I don't think I’m ever gonna leave this place. This is great, such a cozy place guys I feel like I’m at home and how many rooms do you have here? And you guys are at full capacity because there was a bunch of people here? They were there for food. Oh nice, nice. Very good. That's how you guys know it's very good food here if people aren't even staying here and they're coming to the spot to get some and speaking of food, we've got some being delivered right now. Oh yeah, that's gonna be delicious. Oh it's smelling very good. Alright, here we go. We're getting some

of the traditional soup here, get a hefty scoop. See if I can do this without spilling. Alright, that's a good sign and let's go for scoop number two. I’m not gonna be shy like Harry who only did one scoop.

Actually no, I did two but they were small. Alright, then we'll go for number three then. Oh and we got one sneaking out. No, you're coming with me. Alright, so we've got some yak here. We’ve got some noodles and this is local. You can only find it in Hunza, yeah? Yeah. That's why it's even better guys, another reason you gotta come up here is you can only get these types of foods up here and you saw in one of the last videos, we had some insanely good food up here and so I can only imagine, this is going to be just as good if not better. So let's go ahead and jump right in. Actually, we wanna make sure we get the yak meat in there.

That is great. As Harry said, it is somewhat similar to beef but a bit more gamey. Really nice flavor to it and it goes well with the noodles here. And truly, there's nothing like having some warm soup in the winter time, warms up the body as the heater's warming up our feet right now, so really nice cozy experience here's So guys they're telling us that the cottage cheese in here is one of a kind.

You can only get it up here in Hunza and can you explain one more time the process. Yeah, like you bring it from the shepherds the local shepherds like from the meadows and from the pasture, the sun dry it and we bring it here. We crush it and we mix it with the soup. And you can taste it in there. Actually, I didn't hear him earlier when he mentioned the cottage cheese and I knew there was some special taste to it that was making it extra unique and it is the cottage cheese that really adds a unique flavor to the soup that I enjoy. So we've

got the next part of the meal arriving right now and what's this one called? This one is plow. Plow and you have like shilbut. Oh yeah. So this one's Harry's. Oh nice, thank you. There we go and this one's called shilbut. I’m gonna say like five times guys because I always forget the names. Alright, shilbut. Oh some delicious fresh bread there too, that sounds quite nice. There’s the plow.

Oh we've got a solid feast to go after. Alright, so let's reveal. Steaming up quite nicely here. It’s got a nice smell to it. Oh I’m gonna see if I can make it over the plate and wait for that last drop and then. Oh wait for that one. Oh there we go, successful

transport there. Let me get a proper smell. That is a very, very nice smell. It almost reminds me of like it gave me like a feeling of nostalgia during the holidays would have these powdered white cookies that are almond and does this have any almond in it? Apricot, okay because it has a very like in like nice smell to it, going to be some unique flavors here. So let's see if it's a little too hot. That is quite nice because the apricots in there gives it a slightly sweet taste, mixed with a bit of almost like a very creamy mashed potato type texture. Very unique and very delicious. I’m not even sure what's related to it's really a one-of-a-kind type of dish that I’ve had really. Yeah I actually gotta get

Harry's reaction right away, yeah. I need some help contemplating on what we can relate it to but it's- it's absolutely amazing. Well, it's interesting that there's all that oil. Oh with the bread. Just like that. Oh there we go, delicious right. Oh my God. Yeah, never had anything like it. You can

definitely taste the apricots. Wow it's like a sweet unsavory meal at the same time, and with meat in there, it doesn't sound like it should work but it does work. Yeah really. Really well and yeah like the meat also is cooked so tender yeah really nice guys. So I think we're gonna have to try it out with a little bread here. So we have a little scoop here. We’re gonna do it my usual way of eating this type of food which is to turn it into a bit of a taco, burrito style. And I’m thinking, this could even be bite

size. Let's see if we can make it happen though. Oh, that was impressive. Delicious, bite was a little bit too big that I could handle and it was quite hot but the bread adds a nice flavor to it and basically what's the best way to put it, kinda turns it almost into like a creamy little sandwich when you have it wrapped up like that. Very nice, very tasty. So now I’m trying a little bit of Harry's rice here and we've got yak in mixed in with the rice here, yeah. Yeah. And so yak, you would say is probably the most commonly consumed meat here in Hunza. Yeah. Well, it's quite good so I can see why. And then do you guys eat much like goats or sheep? Yeah we do but mostly yak in the winters. Okay. But in the summers, it's hard to

find them. Oh it is okay. It- it's not that easy to find. Are they hard to hunt? There's no hunt. Oh already like they took them to the pastures in the summers that's why it's hard to find. Oh okay. When there's no grass up there, they 467 00:15:59,600 --> 00:16:04,000 bring them here. Like how many meals can you make out of one yak, like thousands? Like thousands. Wow. Because it's more

than 100 kgs. Wow, 100 kgs guys think about how many meals that is because probably,- probably weighing maybe one kg total amongst all this? Yeah. Yeah, so you put that into perspective that is a lot of meals you can have here. So you guys go through what probably like two three x in the winter? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. 3x yeah, yeah that's very cool. Alright,

guys here we go. We're gonna try out a little bit of the rice here. Well, that complements the other entrees quite well here. Very nice, rice is cooked quite well, got a nice chew to it and now we've got a bite here with the yak. So far everything I’m enjoying very much guys. The nice part is guys we even have a fruit salad to mix it in with. They definitely take care of you on portions here. This meal for the two of us probably could have fed the Posh brothers as well. So we should have

invited them. I’m not sure where they went. Very nice, fruits out here looks like based on what I’m looking like what it's looking like here we have tomatoes. We have apples. We have maybe that's a mango in there and some good seasonings. It just has such a fresh taste to it and once again as you've seen in some of the other videos, these are all grown here in Hunza just knowing that it's more special but it's actually extremely delicious and fresh. That's the one thing I’ve noticed about the food here is everything just tastes fresh and well prepared. Compliments to the chef, very delicious, all of them we've tried. I think we've tried everything at the

table now, portions are big which is great. We're gonna have full bellies but 515 00:17:45,039 --> 00:17:48,080 I wanted to ask you so all these recipes did you come up with them or they're in your family? Yeah before me and my husband, we both tried different recipes and stuff but later on, when we thought of making such a restaurant then we hired a chef from a TV channel, masala TV. Oh cool. Yeah. She came here and she- she was supposed to stay here for a month. Yeah but she loved this place and this area, so she stayed here for two months. Two months, wow. Yeah and that was something

positive for me past points so I learned a lot of things through that. Oh very cool. Yeah well I can tell because I can taste it in the food. The local dishes we learn from our grandparents. Yeah, from traditions and generations. Yeah, yeah very, very cool. Everything's local or like organic. Yeah the vegetables we grow our own vegetables here yeah, everything is almost organic. Wow. Yeah except the rice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rice come from downstream.

Yeah, yeah. Yeah well very nice, thank you so much. The yak meat, yak is mostly they stay at high altitude like 3000 and above. Wow. So there are a few months only like three, three months they come down the pastures, they eat only like pure vegetables or the grass. They don't eat everything, like all the animals do they eat right whatever they find. Yeah, yeah. These animals are a little- So they have a very clean diet, yeah. Yeah see they eat all the herbs from the mountains. That’s why the meat's like so tasty and

yeah clean, that's- Really, it is really nice. It’s neither beef nor mutton, it's in between. Yeah. And it's good for your health. Oh wow. Your blood pressure level.

Oh that's great. I think in Pakistan, it's the first time that I’ve ever had it. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. I hope I can find it when I go back to the US next time. Well perfect, yeah thank you. I really appreciate it. Alright, guys just finished up a delicious dinner and hung out with the family here for a bit a little time off camera, just learned about their culture had such a good time.

So I’m gonna show you guys in the morning, just a quick view of what it looks like from this place at sunrise, maybe have a little coffee on the balcony. So see you in the morning. And good morning guys, fast forward to the morning here it is time to have a little bit of breakfast. So we're heading back to the community spot here. As you can see, it is nice, bright and sunny outside. [Music] If you look out here, we've got the hangout spot. So definitely a good spot in the summertime. I can just imagine

sipping a cup of Joe right out there, looking into the mountains especially because of course in the summertime, you're gonna see a lot more luscious green out here. Obviously, all the trees are bare right now because it's winter months. Great place to wake up to in the morning. Alright, guys the breakfast has been served. I’m a couple minutes late here but the gentleman already enjoying it. How is it so far? Delicious. It looks quite good here. So we have eggs. We've got some fresh omelets here, some French toast and

this is a special type of sort of pastry. Oh cook, yeah kake. Okay, no because there's- there's a very similar type of food that I’ve had in the Arabic world, that's called like kake and it's got like two pieces of bread with stuff inside of. Let's sneak this one right over there. Alright, sneak this one right there. Oh yeah, I didn't forget about you omelets you already know, got two slices of this and- Oh paratha bread, yes please. Alright, well I guess we're getting three slices then you know what you guys are gonna start out right away and do a little paratha double decker Sammy.

You guys every your parathas like this? No, no. We gotta train these guys is the good way. So you got the paratha set up like that. Let's just fold this in half and make it a double decker. Oh, that is so good. I must say Pakistan has

got the omelette creation down to a science here especially all the places we've been here in Hunza ever since we've been on the road trip up all the way up until now, all the omelets have just been absolutely delicious. Great way to start out the morning. Got the protein in there, got the carbs in there for a big day. So here we go. Oh yeah now we got the French toast

going. I already took a bite out of it because I just couldn't resist. Oh yeah. I tell you these guys have the secret recipes up here in Hunza when I leave here, you know it's gonna be two, three maybe four kilos bigger but it'll be worth it. Well guys, it was a delicious breakfast here as I expected after having last night's dinner. So thank you very much guys, so good. I really appreciate it. Very

good, delicious breakfast here. So many good flavors and really enjoyed it. Thank you, Alright, guys that's where I’m gonna go ahead and end today's video. It was a really, really nice accommodation here over at the Moksha resort and I can't wait to hopefully come back here next summer as well and try this place out just because you know this type of place especially me being a summer guy is gonna be even more enjoyable to explore, have some fun here next time. And so the food so good for every meal. So hope, you guys have enjoyed this one if you have, make sure to smash that like button and if you wanna see more videos both here in Hunza and all around the world, hit that subscribe button because we've got a lot of good stuff coming up and I will see you guys in tomorrow's video.
