"Tüneli" That's Turkish for tunnel, I think I kind of like it Tüneli Kemaliye, Turkey Season 8 - Eps. 13 Good morning Internet, it is 8:00 in the morning and welcome back to the channel I'm carrying too many things Today is another day of riding. I've already had my breakfast, it was really good Like typical Turkish breakfast and I partially packed up Frankie, so let's go! It is time to head towards the Black Sea Coast, so today I'm first going to follow the river And then cross through the mountains here And then I'm going to end up in a place kind of, in between Ordu and Tabzon, right here on the Black Sea coast 345 km to go Before I do so, let's.. fill up here Germany? Netherlands Netherlands oi! - Aye! Well, you can see the weather is changing Uh, according to the forecast, it still should be okay today But there is a bad weather coming A lot of rain I think But hopefully I will escape that Right I am leaving Kemaliye Where I've stayed last night And here is already the first tunnel Ha ha ha! Oh, this is awesome Oh, why are you on the wrong side of the road? Wanting to look at the river Okay, are we counting tunnels? There we go Wow There is no better way to start the day than a little road like this right? This way Yes Nice little dirt track My tablet is making a sound It's always something rattling This is so cool Look at this Frankie! How about it? Unreal right I'm heading really into the gorge now Wow Okay. Next tunnel None of these have light But I don't think they'll be very long Don't exit through there or you just.. plunge into the river

Wow It's quite a big tunnel though, you can fit two vehicles next to each other here Just absolutely no light In here "Tüneli" That's Turkish for tunnel I think I kind of like it Tüneli Does this one still count as one tunnel? Has like these little interruptions See they named every tunnel has a name This is the Husamettin Ozkan tüneli I don't know the people that they named them after The Ali Coskun Tüneli Oh, I was like, I'm heading straight for a wall but.. There's a corner What a ride, hey! This is really awesome. I am loving this The Kayozgun Tüneli Everywhere you have like these little.. .. Holes that you can peek down And look at the river Cool right? Really awesome It's not a lot of traffic here that's for sure. I've seen one cyclist Hasan yget tüneli It's always nice to hear the sound of your motorbike in these tunnels right? It's hard to contain myself not to rev the engine all the time Recai Cakmak tüneli There's the next one This might be a new record for an amount of tunnels per day Oh Something about tunnels this season right? I am either crawling through them, climbing ladders through tunnels or riding through them It is the season of the dark tunnels of Turkey See where we are. Still the river Yep, just riding parallel to it. I think through the entire gorge

This is a nice spot to kind of, see how.. how wide the river is here right? And I would say, it's relatively fast flowing too Yeah, I think it's really special to ride alongside the river here Because this is not just any river. This is the Euphrates Which is the most important river in the Middle East Um, it's also I think the longest river it's 2,000 over 2,700 km long So it starts.. I think it starts in Turkey, maybe Armenia is also part of it And then the river flows all the way through Syria, down to Iraq and then north of Basra it goes together with the Tigris river and then flows south And then drains close to Kuwait. And that area between the Euphrates and the Tigras that's what used to be called Mesopotamia and yeah, that's the origin of a lot of ancient civilizations So it's an very, very important river both in history and still today And now, along the course of the river of course, there's been several dams built to try and hold the water as long as possible in the region I suppose but yeah, it's a really I don't know special feeling to ride alongside the Euphrates river And I might encounter it again in the next country where I'm going to Okay, let's.. let's catch some more tunnels

Oh, this is a really long one I find it fascinating that they make the tunnel so huge You know, as if there were.. as if this used to be such an important road that I don't know big trucks had to pass here or something Look how massive it is Woo! And on to the next Wow! The color of the water is so beautiful right? It's kind of like this.. emerald green I'd say Really pretty color Would that have been in the last tunnel? One tiny one. Does this count? Ah, it's a tunnel No. it's not the end yet Some more tunnels Ah, I think now I am kind of moving away from the river. Yeah, see

Now I'm heading towards these mountains here So Euphrates! Until we meet again Look at this view! Amazing Really cool It's interesting how the vegetation around here already starts to look more like, what I had on that first ride leaving Istanbul, remember? Oh.. a dog He didn't really notice me They are amazing livestock protectors Oh They'll take on wolves and everything Okay That one couldn't be bothered I think I believe that they will.. yeah, they will go for wolves, bears Well, there's no coyotes here, but if there would be coyotes they would go for them as well They're amazing protection dogs But they are so big and when they go for you, oeh. It's rather terrifying I am just going to stop somewhere here And put on my warm gloves and maybe I also going to put on like My mid layer 'cause it is so chilly today It's really hard to dress for this time of the year in Turkey And then going up and through the mountains Yeah, when the sun comes out, it gets really hot still But now today there's no sun and I'm heading kind of, yeah north towards the the Black Sea And yeah, it's really chilly. The temperature differences are so big, that I keep on putting on and off more layers See, I nearly went up to 2,000 m again today So yeah Temperature differences are real Oh yes Oh sorry Salam alaikum Hi! How are you? Good bye-bye Bye Tea. I see tea

Salam alaikum Welcome - Thank you Tea? Thank you Oh, thank you Bye-bye Oh, that was a lovely little tea break I just love how sometimes the mountains have amazing colors And then it's the trees Look at this There we are I made it! I made it to the Black Sea How about that So this place is called Giresun And uh, it's quite a large place, look at all the highrise Did you see that speed sign? Cars can go 82 km an hour It seems a bit random right? 82 Let's go left here Oh, he's got enough bread to feed a village It's kind of like, city center I would say Like a main square Little English okay Uh, can I park my bike maybe here? - Yes - Yes Okay okay Let's go and scout for some food. I'm pretty hungry now And I passed this little square place, so I'm sure there's something to find there Is it me or does this almost sounds like the Burger King What is this? Welcome Salam alaikum Chestnuts - Chestnuts Where are you from? - The Netherlands The Netherlands Welcome - Thank you I have, how much for one bag? Uh, how much uh..
