US citizenship, BINA JOB KE!! Kaise?
I would like to settle down in California. How would I get a green card? I don't want to do a job Welcome to Google! In this way, two students made Google. Here we have the GoPro headquarters.
Google got its name by mistake. -It was a spelling error. -Okay. YouTube has its headquarters here but its logo outside was so small. The noice... ...of water, actually, it's not noise, it's the sound. I don't feel like saying anything. It's such a nice feeling. Just want to sit and relax here.
Nature! (random chat) I just said this to Mr. Vinayak, out of the many states, I have explored in this country, in the USA, for me, perhaps, California is the most beautiful. The landscapes here are just amazing.
There's so much diversity. Yesterday, at Pacific drive, the landscape was different. The mountains here are again different, they are green. This reminds me, in Italy, when I was traveling to Alberobello from Rome, I came across such landscapes. Even in Serbia, I came across such landscapes. They were so amazing! The style of the houses here, the architecture, everything has a European influence.
-If you see the Spanish- -Yeah, there is a Spanish influence here. Wow! What a spectacular view! Amazing! Great! And you are saying, the climate, the landscape, remains the same throughout the year? Yeah, almost. But not so green in drought season. But otherwise, the climate is quite equitable. The temperature variation is very slight.
So, summers and winters, both are moderate here. From the bottom of my heart, my mind... I just don't know how to express myself. I am so overwhelmed that I don't know what to say.
I'm short of words. These amazing landscapes urges me from within, and you have also asked a lot many times, "Any country where I would like to settle in?" The US was never on my preferred list. But, in California, the landscape is so amazing, the climate is so amazing, and the advantages of a developed economy and a developed culture can be found here.
All these give me a feeling that this is that one place. And then, there are so many Indians here, an entire Indian community exists here. Yesterday, I had my dinner at Apna Bazaar. I had chhole bhathoore. The taste was also typically Indian. So, If I'd wish to settle anywhere in the future, I would prefer California. But I have to work out the visa and the process for obtaining a green card.
If you could help me out with the visa and other formalities... I actually don't need a visa. But a resident permit to settle in. Not sure. I don't want to do a job here. But, I do want to stay here.
How? I don't know. But honestly, I wish to stay here. Thanks to you. Honestly speaking, without you,... I am not saying this for the camera.
Perhaps, I would have missed enjoying these landscapes without you. And perhaps, my feelings for California would've been the same as for any other state in the US. Yeah. And you expressed that you wanted to enjoy the scenic beauty here. -Yeah. -And, California is the best for that.
Actually, at every nook and corner... Even when I'm talking to you, I feel, I'm missing many things that I want to show you. So, let me show you the landscape. And I also wanted to convey that I have a desire to settle here. I wish there was some way out. I would surely like to stay here. We are heading east from the highway.
From the Bay area, where we were staying. From San Francisco, we are moving east, towards the mountains. That's the Yosemite National Park area. This is that highway. -What's the name of this highway? -This is I-5.
-We are on the I-5 route. -I-5? There are quite many trucks on this route. That means this is the main highway. I-5 means, Interstate-5 which connects the states, like the National Highway in India. -He took a wrong turn, didn't he? -Yeah. He was in a hurry, I guess. -Perhaps, he was about to miss the exit, so... -Okay.
The truck suddenly came in front of us. Spacing between vehicles is absolutely necessary here. We are running at about 85 miles... -What will be 85 miles per hour in kilometers? -130 kilometers per hour. You can drive at this speed in the US. 85 miles per hour. You were saying that the highways play an important role -in making the economy strong. -Definitely.
We were busy talking and then we moved towards the other side of the road. Suddenly, we got an alert of a rumble strip made on the roadsides. -These are grooves. -Yeah, grooves dugout on the roads. As soon as the tire gets over it, it makes a loud noise.
And then, you get alerted and you come back to your lane. -We can try going there for 2 seconds. -Let's try. Yeah. I hope GoPro was able to record that noise. This rumble strip, if introduced in India, can make its roads and highways so safe.
One is, rumble strip, and the other is lane discipline. These two things can change the entire traffic system of India. This reminds me of the road from Cochin to Munnar.
Exactly, that was what I was about to say. Wondering if you had been to Munnar. -It's very much like the Munnar road. -Yeah.
This was the entry gate to the national park. He produced the card and we were allowed to enter, else you have to pay some amount. Should I hold it? Yeah, this is the annual card. -For how much was it? -I think it was for 80. -80? -Yeah, $80, but for the whole year. -And unlimited-- -National parks.
And, it's valid for 4 passengers. -4 persons? -Valid for a car plus 4 persons. Oh! I see! I thought an unlimited number of persons also. -No, no. -4 passengers? Okay. Alright. It was written here that a petrol bunk and a gas station is nearby towards the left? Beyond that, you won't find another in the Yosemite area. -These are snowflakes, right? -Yeah.
Its snowing now. Perhaps, some construction is going on ahead, and so we have to stop here. Mr. Vinayak says that there's a bridge on the right side, ahead of us. The map also shows the same. We have to cross the river and perhaps, some construction work is going on there. And so, I have stepped out of the car.
He said, "You may stretch if you like." I replied, "That's a good idea." Something flashed in my mind just now. How they are waiting in a queue, right? There's a jam ahead and not even one is overtaking the other to go ahead.
They are standing in a single line. whereas this lane is vacant. Looks like, people are brought up like that. Looks like rules and regulations are injected into their bloodstreams.
And that's why such a discipline... It looks good also. It was quite cold outside and so we got into the car. The tiny snowflakes are turning bigger now. You can see that on the windshield. Have a look. Now, we are enjoying chips with salsa. We're definitely enjoying this a lot.
This is me and this is El Capitan. This is the information on El Capitan. This huge rock! This is entirely Granite. Almost 3000 feet high. The granite rock is standing erect. And because it's granite, Glaciers and the atmosphere have no impact.
I mean, there's no erosion. This has been standing here, unaffected, since ages. Standing just like this.
3000 feet high, erect. Climbing activities are very common here. They do climbing activities here. It was written somewhere that, "If you get to spot small creatures, perhaps they might be the climbers." They are people or what, I'm not sure. Speaking of El Capitan...
When I was using Macintosh, I mean, Mac, the Apple laptop... there was an operating system in it. Today I came to know... You might be using the Apple Macbooks, the MacBook Air or MacBook Pro, the names of their operating systems have been inspired by such landscapes.
The macOS Big Sur... Where is Big Sur? Big Sur is in South Bay. Near to our yesterday's ocean drive. Big Sur is right there. And there's a waterfall on the other side. For now, we are moving forward.
This is the entire Yosemite National Park area. I used to pronounce it earlier as, 'Yosmaait'. We have arrived at the Yosemite National Park. The visitor's center is somewhere there. We have parked our car at the backside. We can see the information boards displayed here.
They are exactly like the ones displayed outside the Grand Canyon National Park. The same has been displayed here also. Mr. Vinayak is telling me to pass this information to all of you. If the national parks and the tourist attractions of our country, are provided with such facilities, such infrastructure, like, visitor’s center, where one can get the information...
They have restrooms, maps, pictures, and one can buy postcards and photographs. There are so many things to buy. They can buy souvenirs as well where such beautiful pictures are displayed. There are so many things you can gift or carry along with you. But the best thing here is, for example... Easy, Moderate, Strenuous.
Based on your stamina, there are 3 kinds of treks here. Easy, Moderate, and Strenuous. You can choose what you want. In 'Easy', you have a trek for half an hour, one hour. There's a 2-hour trek also. And here you have two treks, which are moderate.
And then, there are tough ones also which are of longer durations. You can see the list of attractions here. You can plan your whole trip by just looking at this information. For further information, we can get to the visitor center The whole map is displayed here. We made an entry, somewhere from here.
And then we saw the El Capitan here. And from El Capitan, we have moved only this much. "You are here." Right now, we are here.
And this national park is so vast. If I get a chance someday, I'll surely try this route. I would criss-cross and explore the entire national park area. There's a shuttle bus here. Let me try that. The provided literature says, "It's better to use the shuttle bus."
-We'll now go to the visitor’s center, right? -Yeah. -You wanted to go, isn't it? -Yeah, we'll go in five minutes. -It's just nearby. -Okay.
I have come across something interesting here. Right now, you're here and you would proceed in this way. This is one point, and this is the other one.
The photograph taken from this point would appear like this, the lower one. And the upper photograph would look like this. This is an option, then we have Mirror Lake and this as well. You can see the photos first. If you like it, you can... Sometimes it happens that after reaching you didn't find the place picturesque It leads to disappointment. So, you can see a picture of your destination at the start itself.
If you like it, you can go ahead. Else, you choose either of these. This is the visitor's center. It's closed, right? We can get some information from here. But there are just toilets here.
This way. Such beautiful pictures here! We are on a hike. We have been walking for about 5-10 minutes. We have parked our car at the parking area.
We enquired at the visitor's center and we decided to go to Lower... What was the name... What's it's called? Lower Fall? Lower Yosemite Falls. It's a short trek of 30 minutes. The roads are so paved. The road is already made. There are no challenges. It's not easy. It's ultra-easy. We are doing the Mirror Lake trek.
It has started snowing. The temperature is fairly low. I have these gears. Even Mr. Vinayak is well equipped. But he is used to Boston's cold now.
He doesn't feel cold to that extent. They are walking too fast. It would have hardly taken 15-20 minutes, right? -From the parking lot... -The road is flat.
Yes, it was very flat. I thought it would change a bit. This is Mirror Lake. This is my last morning in the US. I don't know when will I be back. This is a hostel of the Stanford University.
They have put tapes over it. This area is closed. This is a beautiful hostel. A great hostel, I would say.
Mr. Vinayak is coming from there. My stay is about to end. I will be boarding Qatar Airways. I will reach Delhi, via Doha. I am not sure when this video will come up. But whenever it does, I hope you will give it the same love as you have been giving.
Thank you. This is how it works here. If you are ahead, you open the door for the convenience of the person behind.
It's cloudy today. It's a bit cold as well. When I connect the dots...
The place where it all started... Connecting the dots... We were watching Steve Jobs's speech at the Standford University where he spoke about connecting the dots. If we connect these dots, of how we met before and how we met here again, and whether we will meet in the future. It's all already there in our fate. Okay. I'll allow you to leave.
Many, many, many thanks to you. I thank you that you came to California and showed it through your lenses. You may thank me.
But how much ever you thank me, I would thank you a million times more. Oh, no. Don't be so humble. I am already in love with California.
But the credit to make me feel attached to the US yet again goes to Mr. Vinayak. It was bound to happen. I was just the middleman. -Can we hug? -Yes, sure! Definitely. Thank you so much.
