♪ Ooh, ah, ooh, ah ♪ - We're back in Zihuatanejo with another episode. This time we're touring Casa Garrobo, an iconic estate nestled on the dramatic cliffs in Punta Garrobo, freely floating above the Pacific Ocean. - [Cody] I think it hits different, now that we're out on a patio.

- This is wild. So beautiful. From the craftsmanship inside to the breathtaking views outside, every detail speaks of peace and power while coexisting in this raw, lush landscape. And I hope it looks as good on camera as it does to our eyes.

- [Cody] I hope it does, too, 'cause it is beautiful. (dramatic music) - The days are stunning, but at night your senses come alive with the rhythmic sounds of the ocean beneath. And that's why we're excited to welcome you to Casa Garrobo. And let us show you around. (dramatic music) Welcome to Casa Garrobo, we're starting on the exterior.

You have the street bringing you to this cul-de-sac, end of cul-de-sac, because that's where Casa Garrobo is located. In fact, to both my right and left, we have these really nice carports. So when you first look at them, you think that they're wood framed. But this is actually all concrete, which is such a nice touch. Essentially, they form the entire structure out of concrete, and they put the smooth finish to give you the rounded edges, to give you this wooden look. You can park two cars here, or, in this case, we have our 4X4, because these are the vehicles we've been using throughout the development.

They're fun, they're exciting. Even arriving to this home this morning was so much fun. And over on the other side you can see the other carport. Now, Cody, why don't we pull everybody to the gate? These gates are made out of driftwood, so you have this really unique texture.

And the first thing you recognize is the stone finish on the driveway. This is the native stone that comes from the grounds of Punta Garrobo. And I just love how they use it for so many different purposes in different applications as well. And in this case, this driveway brings you down all the way to the motor court that we're gonna see later.

And also, there's a nice drainage detail here with these stone caps. And obviously, the entry of the property is beautifully landscaped. We have palm trees, all this lush greenery. And before we continue to the rest of the property, I want to give you a quick breakdown of this home. So Casa Garrobo itself consists of three massive structures.

We have the guest residence that's right behind us. Then we have the staff quarters with the garages on the first floor and a really nice guest suite on the top floor. And lastly, of course, we have the primary residence, which we're really excited about.

A lot to cover there. The palapa design. The way this property is situated on the hillside is quite incredible. And before we go into the guest residence, I want to quickly get the specs out of the way. We have 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 16,985 square feet of interior space, and this property is valued around $10 million. I know you get a lot for your money here in Mexico.

But this home is actually not on the market for sale. But it is available for short-term rentals starting from $1,995 a night all the way up to $3,995 a night, depending on the season. And I want to give a big thanks to Mclean Meyer for making this tour possible. More information about Casa Garrobo and their links will be in the description of this video. Make sure to check it out. And with that, let's go see the guest residence.

Now, we have the double doors opening up here. The first two details I want to cover: number one, these stone door handles. This is the same stone that we see on the driveway.

And number two, Cody, can we pan down for a second? Look at the door stoppers here. - [Cody] Very cool. - So cool. And you walk in, the first thing you see, of course, is the Pacific Ocean, this vast landscape, the cliffside, sound of the ocean.

And we're below a really cool palapa that I'll talk about later. Now, first, this comfortable seating area with a sectional couch, your coffee table, of course. But I'm gonna flow everybody to this section, where we have the lounging beds and the pool dedicated to this guest residence. Again, pebble tile details throughout.

Love the curvature and the smooth lines. And you just get in, sit down, enjoy this view. Look to this incredible structure that's in front of you. Enjoy the breeze. Enjoy the vibes here.

In fact, Cody, let's take everybody to the edge for a second, because the view here is so dramatic, so raw, so powerful. And the fact that ocean is this close to you, moving, and you're situated on this powerful cliffside, a lot to take in. - [Cody] Definitely. But it's incredible view. - It is beautiful. And if you look on the floors here, there's a cool construction detail.

They have the built-in drain. Because since we have this section open, if it rains a lot, you can collect most of the water right there. Now, next up, we have the outdoor dining area and the kitchen on the other side. But first, can we talk about the palapa here? This is a really cool structure. Even though it seems like it's made out of wooden columns and wooden beams, actually, the carrying columns are all concrete that are wrapped in wood. Then you have your outdoor dining area.

Cody, we need to get a closeup. Look at the back section of these chairs. - [Cody] Oh, they're a little flexible. That's cool. - Yep.

But it's all made out of wood. Then you have your table in the center with a lazy Susan. Have to point that out.

Your kitchen is to the left with really cool bar stools. And then you just flow to the other side. And again, we're gonna see this native stone used throughout the home. And in this case, they used it as a back wall with some stone light fixtures. Really cool furnishings.

And then we have the steps here taking you down to the lower level. Let's check it out. (upbeat music) Now, I wanna take a quick break from the tour to give a big thanks to OpusClips for sponsoring today's video.

As you all know, the rise of AI has been a bit of a controversial topic. But if you're a content creator, it's incredibly resourceful. And here's why. Behind every episode, there's a whole world of editing that goes on behind the scenes, not just for our YouTube videos, but also for our social platforms. You can easily spend hours trying to find the right footage or clip to make a post engaging. It's all very time consuming.

But thanks to OpusClips, the hard part is taken care of. OpusClips can take any raw or edited video and turn it into dozens of high-quality short-form videos. Let's say I want to create 30 short-form videos from today's episode.

All I have to do is upload the full video, use ClipAnything, which just opens this new AI clipping model that tags every element in the video, and input my prompt. For example, I wanna find the best ocean views from this home. And that's it. It's super easy to use, and I'm loving the content we've been able to create with it.

The best part? Right now, OpusClips is free for everyone, but only for a limited time. So if you wanna try it out yourself, be sure to click the link in the description and take your video content to the next level. Again, huge takes to OpusClips for sponsoring this video. Now back to the tour. (upbeat music) Now, on this level, we have two spacious guest suites and a really cool powder bathroom.

In fact, the bathroom starts here, and we can see the same plaster finishes and the warm tones in this space as well. But the focal point here is the vanity. Again, I love the craftsmanship in this country and their creativity when it comes to taking materials, recycling them, or repurposing them.

This was a rock from the grounds, and they turned it into this beautiful chiseled vanity. You have your chrome fixtures. They left all the organic textures. Your wooden frame, that is the same drift wood as the entry gates.

Look how cool these towel hangers are. And this a really fun powder bathroom. Now let's go back out. And to our right we have the first guest suite. This property is designed in a way to accommodate a lot of people and provide comfortable housing.

Not only do we have seven guest suites, it can actually accommodate up to 18 people, comfortably, comes with its own staff, and you get cozy bedrooms like this one, where you can actually house a lot of people. You have two full beds, and then you have four bunk beds in total, built-in cabinetry on this side. ACs are nicely recessed in so they have their own little slots. And behind Cody, we have sliding glass doors opening up to a balcony dedicated to this room. And I have to say, I love the commitment when it comes to these built-ins and how they're a integral part of this structure.

Between the beams, the ladders, how overbuilt they are, this is a fun room to stay in. If I was a kid, I would love to stay here. - [Cody] 100%. Even, like, young adults like myself, like, this is fun. Like, you have your cousins, family, friends, you name it. Like, it's a good time in here.

- Yeah. You're coming with your friends. Everybody can stay in this room comfortably. Not to mention over on this side, we have a really nice full bathroom with a plaster vanity, open walk-in shower where you can enjoy the views, the pebble details.

I'm actually gonna skip this bathroom because I'm gonna go into way more detail on the other ones. But this is the first guest suite. And next door we have the primary bedroom for the guest residence. This is where we get a little bit bigger scale. You have the built-in that anchors this king-sized bed right in the center.

Of course, look at all the pebble tile details. It's all about the textures. It's all about the soul in this home. You have your solid wood built-ins. A lot of cool art pieces in this room. Gets great light. And we're gonna show you the balcony in a second, but let's quickly flow everybody to the bathroom so I can get into some details.

I can showcase some of the craftsmanship details here. These are all cement vanities. Or you can call them stucco because they have that smooth finish on top. And these are basically all handcrafted, hand-molded vanities. You can see the smooth corners, how it curves on this side.

The recessed in section where you have the pebble tiles. And I just love it. There's so much character. And in fact, Cody, I need you to turn this way. Do you remember the toilet paper holder? - [Cody] I do. - [Enes] From Casa Puente? - [Cody] Exactly. - [Enes] Maybe Casa Garrobo was the inspiration.

- [Cody] Oh, that's true. - You know? - Yep. - And let's go to the other side.

Glass doors open up. I mean, you can simply look at a shower as a shower head, a drain, and a fixture, but they didn't do that here. Look at the craftsmanship. This beautiful circular design in the center, where it elevates you from the drain.

Because the drain is tucked all the way to the left. And then you have the pebble tiles that feel amazing under your feet. And your rainhead. But guess what? They're not just gonna put a rainhead. They're gonna run this beautiful wood around it with the vines, matching the design of the palapas. And then you have this arched window looking out to the greenery.

I love it. This is so fun. In fact, now let's go check out the balcony. It's so nice to be able to walk outside from every single room with such ease.

I love that all these rooms have sliding glass doors, balconies, or, in many cases, they're just fully open for you to just enjoy these outdoors. Now, this balcony is good sized, super private, again, dedicated to the bedroom that we just toured. And they have the same stone here throughout on the floors, on the walls. And obviously, we have to showcase this view. It's so beautiful, so powerful and peaceful. And also, earlier today we saw some whales outside.

And when you think about it, these giant animals are right at your backyard. You're literally floating above the Pacific Ocean. Also, on the other side you can see the main residence. In fact, why don't we go back to the motor court so we can continue our tour. (upbeat music) There's something about the grounds of this property. The landscaping, material selection throughout, even the color of the home.

This blush pink stucco, there's so much warmth to it. It immediately gives you the feeling of vacation holiday or just good times in general. And now, to my right, we have the second structure.

This is the staff quarters, and down below we have the garages. And above, they have a very spacious guest suite with its own seating area. Comes with a king-sized bed, full bathroom. And, of course, even from that level, you get amazing views.

Now, another thing I want to point out. To my left, you can see the bird feed right there. They have peacocks on this property. They're fun, colorful, and they're just throughout, roaming, just enjoying this property like we are.

Kind of adds up to the experience. - [Cody] Yeah. Then they were posing for us yesterday. It was a good time. - It was a good time.

Now, Cody, why don't we turn this way so we can show the walkway that takes you to the main residence. And, I mean, look at that view. This water feature to my right. And this water feature actually goes all the way to the entry of the main residence. And then we have the steps here.

Of course, same native stone is also used here, and the texture. And the way it's been cut and installed, you can actually see the full piece here. And then you have the lip piece, another full piece, and it continues that way, creating this really cool texture. And then you have the water feature.

It just sets that tranquil tone. And when you walk this way, you get a bigger glimpse of what you're about to experience. The infinity edge pool to our left. This massive palapa. And then the water feature on our right turns into this rock wall design, and the water flows all the way to the entry. Let's go inside. (tranquil music) The main level of this property is spectacular.

Not only you have this massive palapa that provides shade over the entire floor, you have so many different seating, dining, and lounging areas. And if that wasn't enough, you have 270-degree unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean since the entire palapa is open. Between the ocean, the cliffs around us, it is a phenomenal space to be in. And again, look at the palapa here, the overall scale. And later in the tour I'm gonna go into detail in regards to how they build these kind of structures and how they maintain them. But before we do that, I want to quickly talk about the story of this home and how we ended up shooting it.

So I saw this property for the first time three years ago when we came to Zihuatanejo for the first time. Nick, Pablo's business partner, showed us this property, and I was blown away. I couldn't believe that this home was real.

And I told him then. I'm like, "If we ever come back to Zihuatanejo, we have to tour this property." Guys, we love this place. Look at these views. By the way, we're currently at the main estate. Who knows? Maybe down the road we come here to shoot this one.

And turns out, as we digged more into it, we learned that this was the first home that was built in this community. By Related Group, which is also very interesting. Pablo's family is also tied to this estate as well.

And thanks to Nick and Pablo and the team at Mclean Meyer, we've gotten access to it. And we are excited to share it with all of you. And in fact, let's go cover some of the spaces.

First, I'm drawn to this section for all the obvious reasons. We have our corner pool here, infinity edge. And the way it's situated takes such good advantage of the cliffside here, this dramatic view. And it looks so inviting. They have hand-laid pebble tiles throughout the entire pool. And you have a small outdoor dining area here, lush landscaping, these palm trees.

And check this out. Cody, you know where I'm going. Right here to the floating bar. That way you can put your drinks here, have a good time, hang out with your friends. And, I mean, look at that view.

- [Cody] It's so cool. I also love how they have this little, like, Baja shelf on the side, too. So you can just sit there, lay there, join your friends while they're actually inside the pool, drinking at the table.

- And also, below the Baja shelf, we have two skylights, bringing natural light to the lower-level hallway that we will cover later. It's a nice clever touch. Now, another detail I wanna point out. Look at this trellis design that's above us. Even though it seems like it's two massive wooden beams extending out, this is all concrete. It was formed kind of like the carport.

- [Cody] Yeah, very cool. - Which is, again, a very clever touch. And Cody, why don't you jump to the other side? Because we have to take a closer look to this view. It's unreal.

- [Cody] It really is. And do you notice, down that coastline, too, there's that rock that looks almost like an iguana. - Yes. - And I'm pretty sure

that's where the name of this entire community comes from. - [Enes] Punta Garrobo. - [Cody] Yeah.

- Hence Casa Garrobo. Hence this being the first property that was built in the community. It's such a beautiful story.

And please, as you're watching this tour, pay attention to the details. This property still, to this day, serves as an inspiration for all the other homes that are being developed in the community. Between its design elements, finishes, architecture, palapas, it all started here. Now, we have two hammocks here, as if this level wasn't comfortable or more loungy enough. And then you have so many different outdoor seating areas. Deck that extends out.

In fact, the seating area that's right in the center is arguably one of the most popular sections here, with this deep couch, gorgeous coffee table. I'm gonna sound cliche, but this is where you wanna just lay down, enjoy your drink, have amazing lunch, and just look out to this view and do absolutely nothing. 'Cause you don't need to. Mother Nature is here to entertain you, in the best way possible. - [Cody] I really hope the camera does justice just at how big this palapa is.

- I don't think there's an angle we can capture all of it at once. - [Cody] I don't think so. It's so big. I also wanna, like, look at these jaguar sculptures over here on the left. They are so incredibly detailed.

I just think it's super cool. - [Enes] They're hand painted. They're also hand sculpted. - [Cody] Wow. - And, I mean, can you just imagine someone painting each one of those black sections by hand? And they just look beautiful. - [Cody] They really do.

I also didn't even know it was actually wood, which is even more impressive. - It is, it is. All right, now let's flow to the other side. We have another outdoor lounging area. Essentially, the main level kicks out from this point and transitions to this extended deck. And above us, I guess, technically, another gazebo design, but it has only two legs or two supporting columns.

It's all, again, made out of concrete. So it's a nice touch. Provide shade to this section. More seating areas here. And sorry, we're gonna just keep going around to showcase this view.

I'm like, "You know what, we've shown this corner before, but let's talk about it again." - [Cody] I think it hits different, now that we're out on a patio. - This is wild. So beautiful. - It really is.

- You don't need any entertainment. You just wanna sit down, and you wanna look at this. Look at the way the water interacts with this cliffside. Just peace and tranquility here. This is beautiful. And we have amazing balconies downstairs.

Now, Cody, why don't we bring everybody this way, all the way to the edge, so we can now walk to the other side. The railing design here, and it's a little bit windy, so I'm gonna do my best to protect our mic. The railing design here is super unique, all handcrafted. And it has the same design elements as the palapa.

And being able to just walk like this and be floating above the Pacific Ocean, hearing the sound. And it's also our proximity to the water is quite special. I mean, looking down and seeing the rock formation, the sound, the breeze. And Cody, why don't we go to this side? Because we wanna show everyone the property we toured before this one, which is right up there. That's Casa Puente. That was our first episode from this trip.

And you can see how powerful that home sits on the hillside. When we first came to Zihuatanejo, we got a chance to tour Casa Acantilado. And that property was Nick and Pablo's first development here. We also toured a beautiful town home on that trip. That was the place that we were staying in. Now Casa Puente, now Casa Garrobo.

And we're doing so much more than that on this trip. We're going to the city. We're gonna be exploring the landscape here, the culinary scene, the culture.

Pablo and Nick and we're putting together a really nice behind-the-scenes video. That will come out after this tour. So make sure to check that video out. Be on the lookout. And on that video we also have a really, really big announcement. Something that we've been thinking about for a very long time and I don't think many people are expecting.

Also, there's a signup link in the description if you want to be on the lookout for that video. When we're live, we're gonna notify everyone. I'm excited for it.

I hope you guys are enjoying this episode. In fact, let's go back into the palapa so we can cover some of the other details here. Now, on this level we have one enclosed section, and that is the kitchen. It is behind the glass doors. But before you get there, you have your beautiful outdoor bar with a solid wood countertop.

Same blush color stucco is here. And then in the center we have the outdoor dining area. Now, you have your seating for 12 people, which is nice. A great place to entertain. So close to the kitchen. You can enjoy the views from almost every single seat.

You have your staff here. You're gonna have amazing meals. And now let's talk about this incredible structure that is above us. So this palapa looks like it's built out of wood. But actually, these columns that carry the entire weight, they're all concrete, which is actually very important, because concrete is way more structurally sound over wood. It's stronger, more predictable, and it doesn't warp over time. But to maintain this authentic look, they actually wrap all these columns with wood to give you this look.

And if you look around the perimeter, you can see these beams holding up the roof rafters. And the connection points there are made out of vines. So now my gut tells me that they're also screwed in. But to keep this authentic look, they also use the vines for additional support. And on top you have dried palm leaves.

That's essentially your waterproofing. And you get that waterproofing by layering the palm leaves in a way that create this tunnel that pushes the water all the way out. So this is a properly waterproofed structure. And because it's all open throughout, you have great air circulation here. And to take that circulation one step further, if you look at the peak, you'll see that the peak section is open. So you'll have the hot air from this section pushing up to the upper section.

So that's how you create that flow and that breeze effect to increase the cooling aspect of the palapa. - [Cody] I just think it's really cool that these have been around for thousands of years. And the ingenuity that they had back then to develop it has just really stood the test of time. And the fact that they're being used today really, like, proves the point that it was just such a good idea. - Absolutely. And, I mean, obviously, they didn't have air conditioning back then.

They had to work around with the resources that they had. And this is what they were building. And I just find it so fascinating that this beautiful contemporary home has this authentic aspect. It's just a nice way to pay homage to the landscape, to the culture, and it serves an amazing purpose. - [Cody] 100%.

- Now let's go check out the kitchen that's on the other side. Again, glass doors. Let's open them up. This is more like a chef's kitchen.

But it's nice to have an air-conditioned space like this, where you have a seating area, TV around the corner. And this is an all-open kitchen with granite countertops, again, these cool bar stools. You have your gas range on the back.

There's also a small chef's kitchen in there. And that's pretty much it for the main level. And we still have a lot to see.

(dramatic music) We love discovering unique properties with fascinating stories, and that's exactly what brought us to Casa Garrobo. - [Pablo] Ready? - [Enes] I am always ready. We are ready. Pablo Ehlers and his family have been deeply involved in the creation of Punta Garrobo and this incredible home from the very beginning. - My dad and Jorge Perez from Related definitely took a chance, having the vision to create a home like Casa Garrobo.

To sort of take on that challenge almost as, you know, when they say build it and they will come. (dramatic music) That's why that home is so special, because it's really where this all started. Because, you know, how are you gonna convince somebody to come here, purchase a lot, and build their dream home when there's no other homes? (dramatic music) You know, architecturally, I think Enrique Zozaya did an amazing job. That house is so traditional. The pool is sort of cantilevered.

You have 270-degree views of the ocean. The big volumes, the palapa, the big spaces, it really speaks to Zihuatanejo architecture. (dramatic music) (tranquil music) When I would stay at Cabo Garrobo, you know, I would go for runs. Some of the streets weren't paved yet, or the concrete wasn't poured yet. And I would go down to the beach club before it existed and, you know, kind of take a pause in my run and enjoy it. And seeing it now is just so special.

(uplifting music) I think from our first video, people have been inspired to come and build these sort of pretty large homes with creative design. And everybody has an interesting story. And I really hope that I can help continue that. And I want the next house to be even greater than the last.

And hopefully we can get some amazing architects to come down here, and different designers. And that's kind of our goal. And to see it grow that way. (uplifting music) - When you're designing a home, it's important to create experiences, these meaningful moments.

Or, in simple terms, make every moment of the property count. And in this case we have a staircase here going down to the lower level where we have the bedrooms. But this has to be one of the most dramatic staircases I've ever stepped on. And just going down, hearing the ocean before you head out to your bedroom, it's quite special. And I hope it looks as good on camera as it does to our eyes.

- [Cody] I hope it does, too, 'cause it is beautiful. - It is stunning. It truly takes your breath away. Now, Cody, why don't we pan this way? We have this long hallway leading us to three bedrooms, actually, four in total.

And to my right we have two powder bathrooms that is technically dedicated for the main level. So you have that easy access here. Also, throughout the property I'm sure you've seen a lot of different art sculptures. And we have couple more art pieces here as well. I'm assuming, well, these are technically not paintings. They're woven.

- [Cody] It's like a tapestry. - Exactly. And this sculpture here. So this is a wooden deer. It's not a taxidermy. I wanna get that out of the way. And they place these beads to create these colorful designs and symbols and logos and patterns.

And this is fun. I would love to have a piece like this in my house. Maybe a little bit smaller.

- [Cody] Yeah, definitely. It's a common thing in Mexican culture to combine all these colors. And it's just, I cannot imagine the amount of time that took. - Oh my God, yeah. - But that's gotta be so rewarding once you finish, to, like, see this entire design.

It's very beautiful. - Exactly. And they have a piece like this in the kitchen and many other places. I just love the pop of color, especially against the light stucco plaster.

Now let's come to the landing. To our left we have the primary bedroom. We're gonna tour that a little bit later.

On this way we have a staircase that goes down to, in my opinion, the coolest bedroom in the entire house. But I want to flow this way because I want to talk about this hallway here and how it's designed. This is something really cool. Something we don't see every single day, even though it's actually a feature that we utilize in a lot of the homes that we tour. So this is a retaining wall, right? Let's break this down for a second.

This wall is holding the earth, the soil, behind the main residence, because we have the house right on top of us. In fact, the skylights above us is the pool. So you can get a reference there.

And when you are holding this much earth, positioning the wall at an angle just gives more strength to the retaining wall. Imagine if it's just straight up, with a lot of weight, it can kind of tilt down. When you're at an angle, it's harder to push this wall.

But also, when it rains a lot, that soil soaks up a lot of water. So it gets heavier, it gets denser, and it can push and put so much pressure on this wall. And that's why they have drainage systems behind this retaining wall, beyond waterproofing, so that when you get too much water there, it seeps through these drains which have filters in them. So you don't get the soil. It drains down on the wall, and there's a collection drain on the bottom, and it kicks it out of the property.

And I love that they weren't shy about this. They embraced this design and left it exposed. It makes me appreciate the property more. It looks super cool. And that's why we have these drain openings throughout. Now, this hallway basically takes you to the side of the property.

There is a beautiful bedroom here with two full beds and four bunk beds. Has its own balcony, full bathroom, pretty much everything you need. But we wanna keep this tour nice and flowy. That's why we're gonna skip that one, but we're gonna cover this bedroom in detail.

Now, this room alongside with the next two that we're gonna see are arguably the best guest suites in the entire compound. Each offers something really unique and different. Now, this room is designed in a really minimalist way. Again, we have the built-in anchoring the king-sized bed right in the center.

The pebble stone pattern is so beautiful, timeless, gorgeous. It looks like a jewelry piece. And the room gets phenomenal natural light.

Not only do we have sliding glass doors behind Cody, you also get this sliding glass door here so you can enjoy different perspectives. Great ceiling height with this beam ceiling design. Beautiful art pieces throughout. That piece right there is back lit. And you have gorgeous textures, warm wood tones, and you flow straight to your bathroom.

Now, the same design elements that we've been seeing throughout the home are also all here. Your concrete floors with the pebble inlay. Your beautiful vanity with plaster details.

And I have to say, given the age of this property, not only it aged extremely well, it was ahead of its time. These curved radiuses, the use of materials, it is still so tasteful, so timeless. And again, you have your toiletries, tissue holder. Everything is curated. Your towels.

And we have a water closet here and a gorgeous bathroom, or walk-in shower that I have to walk in. The mosaic details. This elevated shower pan design where you have the drain around it. And, of course, you have a nice window here, so it's technically an outdoor shower. Now, I want to take everybody outside because we gotta check out the balcony here, of course. Because when you're done with your shower, you can just simply walk outside.

Super private. We can get a closer look to the cliffs that are below the house. And if that doesn't do it for you, I don't know what will. - [Cody] Honestly.

- Yeah, I mean, it's so gorgeous. And I wanna talk about this balcony for a second. I think this is one of the best vantage points on the property, where you can really see the coastline all the way to Playa Blanca. And there's something moving about seeing water interact with the landscape this closely. It's powerful, it's inspiring.

In fact, I was here yesterday working on my notes and just working on a few things, and I just sat down here, and I quickly forgot how fast time passed by. - [Cody] Yeah, you were there for a while. - And before I knew it, I saw this drone. And I'm like, "Why Cody is following me or shooting me here?" Because apparently I've been sitting here for a minute, because this sound literally mesmerized me. And I just had some thoughts that I wanted to write down.

I just so enjoyed my time here. This is magical. And honestly, a property like this, as much as we do our best to showcase these design elements, features, or these interior/outdoor spaces, you have to live in it to truly understand. And being here, it just hits you different. - [Cody] 100%. And it's kind of weird that, like, this is also the Pacific Ocean. And I'm pretty sure we haven't toured anything on the Pacific Ocean that's not in California, right? - I would assume so. Yeah.

- [Cody] Yeah, so usually, when we see the California coast, we see the beaches and the development and the homes, and this is just raw nature. You have a fishermen out there, the birds, the waves, and just the raw landscape. It's very, very cool. - It is super cool, indeed. Now, next door we have the primary bedroom. (tranquil music) Now, the entry of this room is really special because it first opens up to the outdoors.

But before we go there, these are door stoppers- - Concrete. - made out of poured concrete. And check this out. It was probably a bottle of something that they cut in half. They poured leftover concrete. With a rope, you get a door stopper. - [Cody] Probably like a paint can or something.

- Sometimes you just have to be creative. That costs nothing, and it's such a good way of using concrete. And it will be there forever. - [Cody] Exactly. - Nice touch.

Now, when you walk in, you have this outdoor seating area with a screen, if you wanted to. And it essentially opens up to this bigger section where you have the views. You also have the ceiling height. In fact, the deck above us is the deck by the palapa that extends out towards the ocean.

So it provides additional shade for this level. But over on this side, in the center of this patio, we have the jacuzzi. Arguably one of the best jacuzzis we have ever seen on our channel. The distance to the ocean, this cliffside here, the pebble tile and the scenery, that all checks different boxes and you get a 10 out of 10.

- [Cody] You honestly can't beat it. I wish we were here longer and possibly staying here so I could actually try that out for certain. - But this is wild.

- [Cody] It really is. I have a question. So since now we're on the lower level and we're pretty close now to the ocean's edge, would you rather be in a home that's down close to the ocean's edge, or something like the last home that we shot that's up there on the hill? - Got it. That's a good question. I like the sound of the ocean. I like that I'm close, and it doesn't intimidate me. But being high up is more comfortable. - That's fair. - And kind of like

the unlimited vistas, like, that elevation, it hits you differently. For inspiration, that could be better. But I personally love being close to the water. I love feeling its energy. I love that big waves are roaring. I love that I'm interacting with something that's so active at all times.

- [Cody] Fair enough. Honestly, I would- - What do you think? - [Cody] I would say closer to the water, too, for those same reasons. Like, I think it would be so peaceful to sit in this jacuzzi during, like, a big storm. - You know how you and I play music, like, when we get ready, when we're working? - [Cody] Yeah.

- In this house, you don't. - Exactly. - That's the music. - [Cody] Windows open all day. - Windows open all day. To me, that's the answer. - Fair enough. - All right, now let's turn this way.

Check this out, this is such a cool design. The entire primary bedroom suite is glass enclosed. It's like a mini Apple store. And we have the glass open, obviously. And your king-sized bed. I have to give huge credit to the architect, Enrique Zozaya, and the interior designer, Marusa, for doing a great job designing and curating the palette of this home, but also tying it to that local identity.

It's done so well, but it's also crafty, it's artsy. Your king-sized bed, the pebble tiles, the furniture, the built-ins. The millwork that is all handcrafted. And the ceiling height here is fantastic.

And again, we'll probably have the shot of it, but from where I'm standing, head-on view is phenomenal. It's dreamy and it's all to you. You don't see any neighbors.

You don't see land. You see nothing. Pacific Ocean. - [Cody] Just Mother Nature. - That's right. I love it. All right, let's check out the bathroom. Design elements are pretty much the same.

Again, you have your stone vanity, pebble tiles, the cabinetry. This side window is to die for. I love it. I love it. And just when you think you have your shower around the corner, which we do, but it's actually outdoors. You step back outside.

Circular design, your rainhead, your built-in benches. And, of course, you gotta enjoy Mother Nature a little bit more. That's why they have some lounging beds here, a hammock. And if we go this way, back to the corner, back to the edge right here, I mean, this is stunning. And I'm so sorry. I hope it's not coming across that we're being so overhyped about this home, but it is that good.

It feels that amazing to be here. And we still have another level to see. (upbeat music) Just when you think you've seen it all, you haven't. This property on the lowest level provides you something a little bit different.

Now, this is a spacious guest suite. You have your king-sized bed, pebble tiles, these beautiful wooden shutters, wood plank ceiling. And, of course, around the corner we have a full bathroom with a walk-in shower.

So you get the fundamentals. But what makes this room so special is the rock that is situated on this side. Now, as you'll know, this property is built on this cliff. And as they built these massive estates, they clear the land, they create terraces, and they position the houses on top.

But this particular rock here was so difficult to take it out of the way that they decided to embrace it and make it part of the design. And that's why it kicks all the way into the bedroom. They were basically done, trying to find a way to chisel this thing out.

And they gave up, and it's now part of the home. I love this. - [Cody] It adds a lot of character for sure.

- It does. And it's funny how life works, because the vlog that we're putting together and the project that we're announcing also has to do with a rock. And I'll leave it at that, and you guys can figure out what I meant here when you watch that vlog.

But it's funny how life is a full circle. And just on the last floor we have this rock here. Beautiful touch. - [Cody] It really is, last question. The concrete grouting that they have in some of the places, is that just because there was, like, the potential for it to chip, or they just wanted to fill in some gaps? Like, why do you think? - Waterproofing.

- Got it. - I'm assuming it's waterproofing, because even though this section, let's say, is bonded to the lower section, it doesn't mean there are not small cracks in there. - Got it. - So you don't want water to seep into your room.

That's probably why they put some cement around some of the gaps. - [Cody] I see, makes sense. - Makes sense, right? And I cannot believe that I forgot this detail on every single bedroom till the last one. This wasn't planned. They have these, let's see if I can move them, beautiful shutters.

- [Cody] So cool. - Right? I don't think they have curtains here. Yeah. So you can move them. They're a little bit stuck, there we go. And then they just slide away, and you have it- - Yeah.

It's like, why would you even want to use them when you have the view? - Fair enough. Exactly. And then let's step outside. I like that the palapa or the palm leaves also extend out to this side a little bit. Beautiful roof design. This is the closest point to the ocean.

And when you think about the home, its size, the price point, the value you get, I have to say it has to be one of the most attractive valuations in regards to living in an exotic location like this and experiencing something truly one of a kind. And I'm so glad that we are here in Zihuatanejo, got a chance to tour this incredible estate and share it with all of you. (upbeat music) To people out there who may consider renting that property, they experience Punta Garrobo, Zihuatanejo, what would you tell them? - Just come.
