good morning youtube today i'm gonna  review our 2005 ferrari 575 marinello so are you recording all of the nefarious  activities if you're new to the channel my   name is dan and this is my garage and this is our  ferrari 575 marinella which is for sale through   our dealership ng supercars although it may not  actually be for sale yet because we think we're   going to convert it to a manual and we'll go into  that in just a minute but real quick if you want   to support us please like share and subscribe hit  the yada notification bell same stuff that every   youtubers tells you i know i know i gotta do it  too it's my job also if you want to support us you   can go buy parts and services through our website  normalguysupercar.com we sell stuff like exhaust   and suspension and brakes and upgrades and  all sorts of cool stuff so go check it out   probably got some stuff you might want and  we'll hook you up with ten percent off most   of things in the store using the code ngs10  and if you want a custom quote email us sales   normalguy supercar.com and we could probably get  you a better deal than you think we can even get   you parts that aren't listed on the website so go  ahead and do that so for those of you that have   been watching the channel you already know us but  we had some difficulty when we bought this car so   this was kind of the basket case 575 that well  it literally got bounced around to about five   different dealerships because well no one could  seem to fix it correctly and it was having some   weird engine issues it was kind of stumping us  so in another video that we just published we   actually had our friend josh yeah that josh yeah  he came over and we got it running so this thing's   running and well it's still not quite ready to go  so we got some stuff we need to do it from what i   understand anyway i don't know all the facts but  it sounds like they only made like less than 100   of these in manual so this is a pretty rare car to  begin with they only made a couple thousand of it   and then to have only a couple hundred manual well  it's too bad so we're thinking we're gonna convert   it to manual and you know get rid of that little  thing but we're gonna drive it as is today because   well it's still a really fun car and i tell you  the other thing about this car is it's super   super clean like there is just very little  paint flaws the paint looks amazing the wheels   everything looks great once we get it all set and  ready to go one of you is going to get one hell   of a car from us so one thing to note is this  is basically in the same era as the ferrari 360   in fact you can see these side view mirrors are  identical to the ferrari 360 and it has the same   style of headlights as the ferrari 360. it has the  same air scoop and basically the same body as the   ferrari 550. so this car is almost identical to  550 it has a little bit more power a different  

transmission setup it had the f1 transmission was  available and i believe pretty much everyone got   it in the f1 so being that this is a grand touring  car you can see it has actually a very comfortable   and just kind of clean interior now you can see  there's some stuff we need to fix like right here   the carpet is kind of popping up we need to  get that tacked down uh then he'll love this   um this control panel right here yeah it's like  completely loose so um yeah that needs to be stuck   in there but other than that the seats are in very  good shape not hardly anywhere on the bolsters   i mean the rest of the car is just super super  clean even the headliner looks good the dashboard   is in like perfect condition i mean usually  these cars all this leather gets all messed   up and wrinkly and it looks fantastic it does have  quite a bit of miles on it i think it's got like   thirty three thousand thirty four thousand  something like that maybe it's thirty five   thousand i can't remember and of course uh yeah  the tires are from 2009. so we're going to be a   little bit careful driving this thing say because  these tires are sketchy as hell yeah these are   gonna be replaced those are dangerous that's not  good well we don't have the tires in yet so i'm   gonna just kind of take it easy so here's one of  the best things about this car is of course oh boy   that big old v12 that's right yes we have the  ferrari v12 legendary but here's the thing   it needs a major because well we have no clue  when the last time major was done on this car   also the ac or i should say the heater is not  working we think it got disabled somehow so   we're gonna have to get that fixed uh you can see  whoever did the major on this did kind of a sloppy   job i mean there's just like goop all over the  place so we need to get all that cleaned up and   we're gonna do a good major get it all  set so that way this thing's ready to roll   we also threw an anti-gravity battery there was  an aftermarket a lot like a stereo on this thing   and it was killing the battery in less than a day  so they had it wired up wrong we're gonna get rid   of all that crap i mean most people don't really  want that anyways yeah i don't know they threw   in like a big old amp and some big old speakers  and we're just gonna yank that crap out because   it's just it's old school crap if someone  wants a modern stereo they can kind of   get it fixed up another cool thing is this car  actually has the tubie exhaust so that's pretty   awesome other than that this thing is pretty much  stock and you know it's kind of how you want it   it's just a beautiful clean car and  it's fun to drive so we'll take it out   yeah 575. all right youtube let's hop in and take  it for a spin all right in the 575. this is the   old school uh ferrari style immobilizer you have  to like lock it and unlock it in order to get it   to do the immobilizer i swear i got like half the  time you get it wrong anyway i got it right okay yeah that's like the first time i've gotten it  right just so you know uh it has 34 497 miles   one nice thing ac post super coldness thing huh  hallelujah because it is hot as hell it's texas   we're gonna drive in sport mode because all  these old f1 cars used to drive in sport mode   of note one thing that's fascinating about  this car is it is super deep and grumbly   yeah oh and we have the parking brake that  you gotta lift up push the button then pull   it down being that this is the grand tourer  um those of you who have watched my reviews   know that i am not a huge grand touring car  fan but i was driving this home the other day   and i kind of like it look it's not gonna win any  drag races it is not fast by today's standards but   it's shocking it's shockingly comfortable it's  very very comfortable and the handling is still   really good it just rides soft and smooth it's  kind of more like a cadillac ride but not quite   that squishy you know like and it doesn't really  have any of the body roll and stuff so like you'll   see when we start going around some corners that  it actually it's handling is really pretty decent   but still rides just like like a gem yeah we got  the f1 transmission which is a little yeah i mean   you're not gonna be super impressed with it that's  why we're going to the manual because it just kind   of just is what it is so we got to fix this little  panel get that fixed fix the heater not sure why   the heater is not working we got a few small other  issues like the the door locks don't lock when   you push the lock button on the remote it lock it  locks and then unlocks uh talking to josh he said   that there's a the mechanism and the passenger  passenger door frequently binds up and then it   just kind of like stops working and that causes  it to do what it's doing it's a 2005 this car is   over 20 years old all right we're still kind of  letting it warm up yeah shifts i mean look even   though it's got the old school f1 single clutch  the ships aren't bad they're actually pretty quick two under hard acceleration they're a  little bit firmer uh it seems to be   better than the 360 like the 360 to  me was really jerky especially the   downshifts 360 downshifts were just  uh it's like downshifting this thing it's pretty quick it's snappy and it  does a good blip on the throttle so   it's nice also you get the little a little bit of  pops and bangs out of the back because the tubing   exhaust kind of goes it's pretty cool 12 cylinders  of power that's one thing that's awesome i just   you have the iconic ferrari v12 that is  part of what's so appealing about this car   just an amazing engine of course it's still a belt  driven engine so you do have to get that taken   care of every five years which is annoying but  you don't have to remove the engine because you   can get access to it so you'll see we're going  to document the the major service on this car   and you guys can see that it's not that terribly  complicated it's also not nearly as expensive as   trying to do it on the engine out cars because  of that steering feels really good in this car   yeah it's hard to go wrong with ferrari  steering they just know what they're doing   all right we're on our bumpy road test it's  about to get really rough how does the grand tour   ferrari handle the bumpy road gotta slow  down right here it gets really rough   i mean that is almost as good as any modern car  handling this and this is a 20 plus year old car   that is very smooth so those of you that have a  more sensitive derriere will greatly appreciate   this car seriously that is impressive that  we can take on these roads and it's just   that comfortable wow it's riding like a dream all  right here we go let's see how this thing handles spinning shitty tires that's a lot of power again i'm not gonna take  it super crazy because of these shit tires   oh listen to that oh that fry b12 oh my lord that's so good wow i mean look it is just whipping around these  corners like it's nothing but we're comfortable   oh my gosh so much power just tons of power in  this thing ah we caught up to people   wow all right that's what's so great about this  car holy crap that v12 is just fantastic by god love it absolutely love it the handling is just  fantastic oh my god the handling is as good   as a modern car it's hard to believe this  is that old and it drives this well like   super comfortable super super comfortable  yet able to whip it around these corners the exhaust is awesome another super important detail this is one  of the i think the last generation of ferrari   to have the proper furry horn yes i love it oh it's so good tons of torque  it's a completely different feeling than the v8s   just rolls on torque they geared it pretty tall   so when you roll through the gears by  time you get into third gear you're   pretty much breaking the law in almost every speed  limit fascinating how they did that differently   but it can because it's got so much torque it can  pull like that so it just goes and goes and goes   and being a front engine you know the handling is  different than the mid engines it feels different   you can tell that but it's so smooth i mean  this is just so comfortable yet sporty and fun oh my god it's so balanced it's just super  planted on the road even on these shit tires   going around these cars like zero body roll man yeah this is a ridiculously fun cut i cannot   wait to be banging gears of this thing with the  gated shifter holy crap man what a great car all right here we go let's have some more fun it's not like pinion your seat fast like the  uh modern cars but it's fast it's very fast and   it's powerful you can feel that here's the other  shocking thing about this car is when you approach   it you're thinking oh it's the big v12 it's the  front engine grand tour it's gonna be a huge car   it's tiny it's seriously it doesn't take  up hardly any room in the garage i can't   believe how small it is the wheelbase  is just tiny you think oh there's no way   that you know it's going to be a  huge monstrosity it's going to be   super weighty and feel heavy and it feels totally  tossable like you just throw it around corners and   whip around it just feels nimble it's shocking  it really is impressive i i kind of really   adore this car i think they're totally  under-appreciated in the current market   like yeah it doesn't have whoa dude it has some  you know dated styling to some people the lights   are a little bit meh you know but man it's so fun  this must have been just insane when it came out   people must have lost their minds at this thing  i mean i remember when this thing was in bad boys   and will smith drove it and it was like  holy shit look at that ferrari is so cool yeah it still feels that cool maybe even a little  more because now it's just like a classic ferrari   well for whoever ends up with this car you are  going to love it let me tell you it is fantastic   so we don't know what we're gonna sell  it for once it's converted we gotta   it needs it this card demands it from us oh yeah i could feel the traction  control fighting me a bit on that one clearly to do a little better with uh some  new tires on this thing the tires are just   horrible so once we get that solved i think it'll  be i feel a little more comfortable giving it   full beans i mean that was to the floor it was  spinning the tires we were going pretty quick   and still spun the tires all right  on the highway totally comfortable   feels totally stable very smooth quiet interior  you can have a conversation listen to some music   go on a road trip that's the cool thing you've got  this big shelf in the back so you can actually fit   some luggage inside the car and then of course you  actually have a bunch of room in the trunk it has   a real trunk although this one has the spare  which admittedly takes up a ton of space so i   personally would just chuck the spare or put it in  the storage and then just bring it can to fix it   flat call it good because that that spare is just  massive the thing about the v12 cars to me is that   they're kind of a different level of ferrari like  everyone has the v8 they don't make as many v12s   and it's kind of more classy like this is the  car that you really want to show up to an event   and everyone will be like damn that's awesome or  you know you pull up wearing some nice clothes   you're going to be noticed people are going  to appreciate it and and give you a thumbs   up and stuff it's just such a cool ferrari to  me this is what the grand tours should be this   is top level grand tour especially like  classic grand touring cars you can't beat this   it just i can't believe that this is as old as  it is it's amazing everything is fantastic fry   killed it back in the day this is amazing this  is this is a car that stood the testament of time   the styling might be dated to some people but  the handling and everything else about this car   is just spa you pull up at a stoplight there's no  one out there driving one of these you're never   gonna see these they're super super awesome  and you just they're just never out in public   it's a shame it's a shame that you don't get  to see these things they're just fantastic   i i really like this car i can't wait to see what  it's like as a manual holy crap that's gonna be   outrageous well i have to say i initially when  we got this thing thought i'm not gonna like it   i don't like grand touring cars and i have to  say the more i drive it the more i'm really   appreciating it just is awesome just better than  some of the grand tours i've driven it just feels   so comfortable yet it's so nimble it's hard  to describe that it just it handles so well   i mean it's just very precise handling it feels  very ferrari-like it has so little body rolls so   much control i think it's just beautiful i think  these are beautiful cars i've always loved the   styling of them i think they just look fantastic  beautiful wonderful car and again this thing's   gonna be for sale but we're gonna convert it  first because i think as a manual this is gonna be   just perfect oh it's gonna be fantastic so
