Six years ago I got down on one knee in the middle of a snowy town called Leavenworth, Washington, and proposed to Bernardo. "Will you marry me?" I was nervous, scared—because, you know, what if he said no? But thankfully, he said yes. This little town, Leavenworth, has always held a special place in our hearts. Since our time in the Pacific Northwest is coming to an end, we’re revisiting some of the places that were really special to us and want to make new memories there. So, let’s go back to where everything changed. What did we find when we woke up this morning? Winter weather advisory—that’s how you say it, right? Advisory? I think it’s advisory. Until last night, everything was perfect. It was supposed to snow only on Sunday, but then this morning everything changed. Travel is going to be very
difficult, and there’s an avalanche warning. We’ll be traveling around the mountains and all that. I’m a little anxious. For me, it kind of makes the adventure a little fun. Are you excited, Jasper? It’s your first road trip! Oh my goodness, you’re going to love it.
Not for you. No, no, no, no, sir. Didn’t Daddy say no to that? Drop. No, sir. Jasper.
Hey! Excuse me. Drop... no sir! Daddy’s going to be mad at you. You’re not supposed to do that and you know it. You know it.
How’s he doing back there? He’s doing good. Are you good? We’re doing good. We have an hour and ten minutes to get there, boo. Now the snow starts—yep, look at that. You have to drive careful! Oh my gosh, it’s the second accident. You have to drive careful. I am.
Follow far behind— Is this far enough for you, boo boo? That's far. We’re almost there. Twenty more minutes. Almost. Oh, it’s a good one. I like this one too. Yeah, it’s cozy, very homey. Let’s go.
There’s a big TV, oh wow but there’s a river in the back. Yeah, there is. Let’s see the bedroom. Ooh. All right, now we can relax, right? Please. For Christ's sake.
That's cute! We’re going to rewatch our proposal video to kind of remember things. Yeah, remember the places we went to. Oh my God, it’s wet. Oh my God, tight pants too. You look good, baby. What? Who do you think won? I did. I won. It’s weird watching us. So weird, especially years and years ago. We would say 'baby' a lot.
it’s pretty. It’s crazy. Aren't you glad... We're back to Portland finally—long hours. Remember to go out, make memories. Okay, our music choices, they've improved a little bit, I think so. Love you. Good morning. We did not sleep that well at all because of.... no, you can't have this sock.
Getting him situated in a new home. It’s pretty different. Look at you, little skier. Woohoo, ready to go! We should try to ski one of these days. Yeah. It's a lot of black—well, ain’t that your color? Black. Look at you—you’ve got a coat too. You’ve got a very nice coat. Oh, you changed it? It breaks the black, right? It looks good.
Let’s go. Your butt looks good in those. Hey, he escaped. He escaped? He’s going crazy with the snow. We’re going to play in the snow, but we’ve got to go.
No daddy, I'm playing right now. I'm playing right now. Ohhh come get me, come get me. Hey, okay, we’re serious now. Jasper, sit. Jasper, hey, hey, hey. Traveling with a little puppy is very different. Not as peaceful. I’m a little tired. Me too. You want to lay down? Let’s lay down a little and look at the snow.
We have different ways of parenting, because, uh, he’s going crazy. I got the zoomies. Jasper! Hey, come here! I still can’t get him. Got you! So sorry. We stayed here for, what, 10 minutes? Ten minutes. Let’s just relax, relax. Take deep breaths. It’s fun for him.
For him. I love the snow. I do too. Oops. This is paid parking. It is. Did you think it was going to be for free? Boo, boo. I thought because Leavenworth is a magical town...
well, one more reason to pay for everything. Parking is $20.00 all day. You boys ready? We’re ready. You ready Jasper? We’re matching. Does this feel like déjà vu? Completely, but the first time we came here, it was a lot colder.
Yeah, there was a lot more snow and a lot more people. Yeah. But it looks like the Christmas lights are still up. Cheers to having a good time, making memories. Yeah. Having Déjà vu. It’s really good. I remember the food here is so good. Yeah.
Oh, the gingerbread. We have to go. So, how this all came about was in the 1960s when Leavenworth was struggling financially because the railroad and timber industries were declining. Some local business owners and residents came together to think about how they could attract tourists. So, they came up
with this Bavarian architecture style and made it into an authentic Alpine village. Some viewers who watched our proposal loved this place so they came and visited themselves, so it’s working. Doing some exploring. This is the park where Adam proposed to me.
Magic happened here. We love parks. We found one water park. This is like our place, the kind of place that we like. Yeah, this is... look at that river. Oh, there’s a river here! Wow. I remember taking some pictures here. Me too. Don’t you like this? I do. I love it. Now I want a place with snow. We love the snow. It's snowing! That’s pretty—so pretty. Told you it was going to snow.
You could go on a cold plunge. Oh yeah, I think it’s a little... No, you’re not doing that. You know what sounds good? Café. Café, café. Correct. Excuse me, who got up last night? I did. How many did you eat? Three. I had one when I was taking Jasper out. Jasper had the other one? No, I deserved it—it was like 2 in the morning. It was 2 in the morning and you deserved it.

Guess you lost. I won. It was a draw. Yes, you lost. Ohhhh family kisses. Oh my God. Goodness. Family kisses. Oh my gosh. Okay. Date night. Put on some cologne to smell good. Smell good for you. Let's go. He knows I’m trying to bring him to his crate. No, excuse me. We need to have a date night, okay? My goodness. Like a baby, look at the size of this baby.
Yes, good boy. We’ll be back soon. Very soon. Back to town we go. It’s about a 30-minute drive. Have fun. Party. We’re going to party. You think there are parties here? I don’t think so, sweetie. Oh, I'll miss Jasper. I'll miss Jasper too. He’s going to be okay. We’ve been talking about having more date nights, so we’re starting here at a very romantic place. Exactly. I guess we’re going to have German food. You want German? I want German. We’ll show you around. It’s even prettier at night because of all the lights.
Brazilian. Didn’t expect to see another Brazilian. A little fun fact: I had never heard about this place until Bernardo found it as one of the top Christmas towns in the US. So I Googled it, saw how romantic and magical it was with all the Christmas lights, and thought it would be the perfect place to propose to him. It really was magical, the way everything happened. You found it. It’s another déjà vu.
Rooftop bar. Rooftop party. Thank you. Wow. I got a beer. You got a mocktail. Our first German beer. It’s a German beer, right? At a German restaurant. Look at this—you can still see Christmas outside.
Beautiful view, it's so cool. Cheers to us. To us. We came here six years ago. Six years ago. Whoo hoo.
Obviously, we have to start with pretzels. They look so good. Really good. Okay, the entrée. I got some Bavarian brisket. Mmmm, it's good? Second one. My second one. You said you're driving so...you’re going to be a little tipsy.
It's snow... oh, it got in my eye. It's snowing. It's pretty. I love this. Me too. We’ve been craving for snow. This feels like a real winter. Feels right. You know what sounds good now? What? For dessert? Coffee Gingerbread cookies. Ooh, that sounds good. Let’s go back to that store we went to. Oh yeah, I like that. We’re in the gingerbread store. It’s so nice. Oh my God, what gingerbread cookie are you going to have? A gingerbread cookie. You are going to get a gingerbread cookie.
Mine is just plain—boring. It’s a little boring. My first gingerbread. Your first one? First one. Baby, ready? Mmmmm I love it.
I prefer mine. Now we’ve got to go home to our kid. Hopefully, he’s sleeping. Now we have to think about our kid now, it’s not just the two of us—nope. We miss you so much. Oh my gosh, you just want the kisses.
Oh my goodness, you get the kisses too. Okay, let’s turn this light off. Turn the camera off. Let’s go to bed. I knew you were going to do that. Baby, you can not do that! You can not do that, we're here. I unengage you. okay, good night.
What's on the menu? Different view, same breakfast—eggs, oatmeal, and strawberries. Sounds very good. Go to the park and get another souvenir. You guys having a good time in Leavenworth? Yes we are. We're just starting the day.
Really, is it your first time here? No, we, I actually proposed to my husband here so we’re just coming back... Really? How magical...yeah. And we came to this coffee shop and so we were like, let's go back and revisit it again and do kind of the same things That’s so sweet. Thank you. Telling our story? Yeah, they were like 'oh my gosh, that's so sweet' That's cute. Apple cider for you. Have a good one, guys. Thank you. You too. Cheers to a relaxing day. Going back to some special spots. We're going to try to find... yeah. It's exactly how I remember. This is where everything changed. Important things took place here. Yep, this is the spot where we had that snowball fight—where I kicked your ass. No, I
Ohhhh, I kicked your ass. When it comes to snowball fights, I always kick your ass. I think it was around here. There were trees on both sides. Right here. You were looking up. I was looking up because it was snowing. It was so pretty. Something important is happening here today. Every once in a while, someone asks on our YouTube channel, “Bernardo, where’s your wedding ring?” My wedding ring was really loose. I even almost lost it at a
beach in San Diego. How do we know these people? They were helping us find my ring. And back in 2022 when we were living in Maine. That’s where I lost it. We were taking out the trash, and the ring went with the whole trash. We’re here today because we have new rings. I think these ones are more special. Yeah,
because we got them at the Gorge. We have a connection to that place. I think you should re-enact the whole thing. You should get on your knee. Oh, I was. I'm going to do that. I want you to do that. I’m good. Don’t lose this one. I guess we had other
priorities for getting a ring, right? Yeah, like getting our shit together. Here are the new rings. This one is Bernardo’s, and this one is mine. Was it here? It was there. There’s one thing that’s different—no snow. Oh, yeah, Jasper and the snow. I still don’t know which hand it is—left or right? We’re married, so it’s going to be the left. Oh the left. "Will you marry me?" Of course I will.
Do it over again. My chance to get on the knee and say, "Will you marry me?" Of course. We have rings now. Don’t lose yours. I won’t.
Do you think you’ve changed from six years ago? Watching the proposal video last night, I could see... it felt like I was almost a kid back then. You know? I was a little bit naïve, I think. I think now there's just more resilience. I feel more mature, more prepared for life. I think for me... I... looking back, it seems like I didn’t have a lot of roots. Now I feel more stable and I think, back then, I wasn’t ready to face some things and I think with time, it gave me clarity. I think with us, we’ve been through a lot of new chapters
and gone through a lot of emotions like grief, curiosity. It brought us closer together, closer together but I would say in a mature way. But I still see that little kid sparkle in your eye. Yeah, I see it in yours too. I love you. Love you too. Your nose is cold. I can’t stop looking at my ring. I like my ring too. Put a ring on it.
I wouldn't say we’re exactly like super traditional about these things, right? Right. I think that’s also the reason why we didn’t look for another right right away. I don't know, now it felt like the right time—it felt like a refresh. Oh my goodness. Let's get this snow out of your paws. You like picking up the balls? I do. I think it's fun. I did that with Henry. That’s a weird sentence. You like picking up the balls? I like big balls.
Shut up. Too much. Let’s relax. Boo-boos. All right. Okay, we’re good. We’re good. Today is the day where we pack it all up and get back on the road. Check-out is at 11:00, and it’s 9:30 now, so we’re doing pretty well. Just getting it all ready - sad day. Hey! Did you have a good time? You did? I almost forgot my Christmas present.
Remember to go out and make memories. Love you all. Bye. Bye-bye. Kisses. This is what you don’t see on YouTube—the water is not working here.
So we have to pack it all up and go to another cabin. Do you think it’s going to be the same as this one? I don’t know. I don't know where we're going. I hope it's cool. I hope it’s cool because we’re paying the same price for it. and if it's worse, I'm going to complain He forgot his backpack, ohhh I forgot my backpack... at the other cabin. So, he went there, but at least he stopped at a gas station, right? and then bought some donuts. Which we get at our little store in town and some croissants. It was nice. We had good conversations about how we’ve changed from our first time here. A lot of changes. A lot of changes.
