Hello from windy Germany where I'm currently. ly visiting family. Unfortunately, I'm by myself. You had to stay in England, but I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show you around Villaan B ceramics headquarters here in Metla in Siland. This is the area I come from and you know my weakness for all things pottery, ceramics, everything. And the last time you visited, it's been a while. It's at
least 10 years ago. Since then, they redesigned the entire exhibition center. So, I've never seen it. It's the first time for me as well since their redesign. The company began in a tiny
French village in 1748 by Francois Bach. In 1785, Nicolola Vawa set up his pottery in Valafang, which is also in Salot. In 1836, Jean Franabok merged with his competitor Nicolola Va and they became Vora Ibok or as we say here in Germany unb Now when you walk into the exhibition, you basically walk into a cafe. This actually was a real or used as a real cafe in um well before they redesigned the place. And this is an exact replica. I hope you can hear me.
An exact replica of a milk shop in Dston in which Willer B designed in 1892. It's incredibly stunning. I sat here with my parents and Jük having tea and cake. I'm a bit sad that they no longer use it as a real cafe, but look at the tiles.
Absolutely beautiful. All the details. Not to mention, or I shouldn't forget the ceilings, which aren't tiles. I don't know what it
is. This room shows the entire production. I think they invested a lot of money to change the the exhibition. Um, today is Monday, so it's quiet, but guess what? They also have an outlet shop. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy something because I just said to my sister two days ago, you always have to be in control when you enter a shop because everything looks nice and then at home you think, "Oh my goodness, where do I put all this stuff?" Oh, this is interesting. So they actually what they say here to ensure perfect product quality each individual item is inspected for defects by highly experienced stove in a high precision process of course and this also includes a sound test to check for the typical clear ringing sound of perfect porcelain. Let's give this a try.
open. Place the product on the palm of your hand and tap gently on the rim with the pen. Let's try this. Okay. So, and that one. This sounds strange, doesn't it? And then this. That sounds good. By the way, you probably noticed my very short hair. I just had a proper trim.
It's a little bit different, but I'm embracing it. But I wanted to show you something that I recognized immediately. Let me show you. This is the very same porcelain that we had on the train that we took the the Northern Bell. And
whenever we go somewhere, I always check which porcelain we get. And that was on the train. It was just it was gold, I think, but the very same pattern. So
very art deco. No, here it is. That's the very same one. See, black and gold. It's I think absolutely wonderful if you go on a like a train ride that feels like back in the day. Okay, what have we
got here? Well, I mean toilets. And yeah, I must tell you something. Actually, when we still had our house in Germany and when we had it built all the tiles and everything in the bathrooms like basins and toilets, it always from Villaan Bach because you can get great deals here in basically everyone who lives in the area uses will. I think this is the porcelain that my aunt had. It's a very traditional and
timeless pattern. There's no one here. It's so strange. So, a bathtub. Quite a contemporary one, but I think it's beautiful quality.
So, as you can see, Villanb not only makes beautiful porcelain, but everything that has to do with ceramics. And let's just walk through here. My dad is waiting outside with lots in here, so he's going for a walk with her. It's quite calming in here. Yeah. All of this is more contemporary. And it's so so different
than I remember remember it from years ago. Okay, I can spot some color and green. Oh, yeah. See, that shows a 1920s bathroom, which I of course like. I like the tiles. Turn around slowly. I also love
the all of this. Love the basins. And this is gorgeous, too. But you need to see the other room. Oh my goodness, what a bathroom. And the weirdest thing is I actually had So this shows a 1970s bathroom.
I had this wallpaper in my childhood room. Can you imagine? This is like, yeah, would probably say very psychedelic. And it's so funny. I have a feeling that this color is having a comeback. What the wallpaper? Goodness me. It almost blinds
me. Look at the job. Ah, now we're getting there. I figure you absolutely love the museum's cafe, but also things like that. There's so many beautiful things.
Just look at this terrain. And all of this blue and white just never goes out of style. I keep saying it. Terrain is incredibly beautiful. It says is it's a predecessor of the manoa shape that is still available today. Different decors. So a lot of you might be familiar if you are not in Germany familiar with a very famous king Ludwig I also known as the fairy tale king and Milwan B made this porcelain for him. Look at this with the
sworn. Oh, here this is a wash stand. I must admit that I really love the colors. So before I read this, I thought this looks very fairy tale like, doesn't it? And it says it's so the plates are inspired by fairy tale worlds. I hope you can see
it. really really pretty. How gorgeous is this tray? I could see this in our home. Okay, let's check out this room. This is like almost like in a
castle. Oh, it's it's beautiful. I love the the floor, the chandelier, and look at the all the moldings. It's incredibly nice. Now what you see here these two people are Oen B or Eugen B and Octavi Vila. So after the murder of Fuan Bach these two fell in love and married and the old abbey became their home and the old abbey is where we are now. It's the headquarters of Vinawan Bach. And what you see here is a wedding table with wedding wedding guests. And it looks absolutely
beautiful. They had this in the old exhibition, but they completely changed the table and the figures and everything. I really love it. looks so elegant. I always say I love color, but
I must say seeing this white porcelain with a gold rim and those gorgeous glasses, it looks so elegant and posh. Really beautiful. And look at the chandelier. So dreamy. It's such a simple design. also the terrain, but I think the gold trimming makes it pop.
I absolutely love all the artwork in here and must say that I didn't know that the boss were such incredibly talented painters. Look at this. So this here on the ride is by Eugene Bach and basically all of the rest is by Anna Bach and I'm so in love with this one painted by Anna Bach in 1912. Beautiful. This reminds me a little bit of wetwood. And for years I kept asking myself what this dish is. And it's for cheese. I think at some point we needed by Berley probably because we collect Burley pottery. But I think it's really worth
coming here. I just wish my dad could come inside with lot as well. As you can imagine, Milan B is still a big employer. So many people who live around the area metan or sash life pan nan madik work here and it's actually my favorite part in salon. Now, if you would have shown me this pattern when I was about 18, 19 years old, I would have said, "No, I don't like it." But now I'm
completely in love with it. I find it completely timeless. It's beautiful. I can see this in an English cottage as well. How fun is this? This is right up my alley. So, I'm showing you while reading this chest set. It's
called Pumpkin Chess and it's by the Japanese artist Hoy Kuzama and they're only seven copies and it was made by Milawan Bach and the porcelain figures are hand painted. So fun. Okay, it's getting dark again and it's very warm in here. So, Vidan Bcame the largest tire production in the world from 1879. Here you can see the the old abbey here in Metla. It's so great that they preserved this entire place and it looks immaculate. Okay. They also made tiles
for the Titanic. That's interesting. Yeah. And for the dome or the the cathedral in Cologne. Even for the tunnel. The Holland Tunnel in New York. I must
admit, I wasn't really aware that the Titanic had tiles from below Bach. Makes sense now. And I love the fact that the table wear was spowed because last time we visited spode in stoke on trend. We found out that the table wear was from spow and it looked so elegant. So in
case you're in the area here so in sand you have to check it out or in stoke trend where you find so many factories. I mean a lot of them have closed but the ones that still exist are worth visiting. And if you are a lover of ceramics and porcelain, this is heavenly. So many of you have Christmas table wear from Milan B. We do as well. We especially have plates that we use for Christmas biscuits and it's always very nice to use it during the festive season. Also love these teapotss. Okay, let's see
what they have here. This is the one that my aunt had, I think. Yes. Um, so it's called Vue Luxembourg and I remember back in the day I thought when I was very young, when I was still a child, I didn't really like it, but I really like it now. I think it looks very traditional. And I can't stress enough that I find in my personal opinion that blue and white will never go out of style is a bit more fun and I really like it. It's
petifur makes me smile and I can see it on a rainy day. I think this is just timeless. Look, she put something on the plate that looks really, really beautiful and fun. This is probably my or one of my all-time favorite table wear. It's called French Garden. I think it looks so beautiful.
Have a look here. I just like this so much. I've seen on Instagram when when those little balls came out. So they are called this is the lapit bull and there's so many there's so many plates and bowls hidden. I think it wouldn't suit our style, but it's actually very handy and decorative as well. Okay, in here they have the table
wear that was used in the Northern Bell, the art deco table wear. I forgot the name. I will double check for you and inserted here in the video. Not something I would love to have at home, but I can totally see it in an art deco home. Look at the napkin rings or here the soup bowl. quite an I can only if
they would film new series of Downtown Abbey I could see them using that for example Lady Edith in her flat I don't know does she still have the flat after marrying her what's he called uh Marquis she owned the flat in London and I could see this I'm in the outlet shop Now, I don't think that I will buy something, but I would like to show you around. For some reason, this shop reminds me of Wetwood in Stoke on Trent. Here we do have my arms table wear seems to follow me around. They I think it's called I think my aunt always said old Luxembourg. It's really nice. Let me show you this. So, this is
not really my cup of tea because I think this would go out of style. But luckily enough, we all have different tastes and this is what makes the world colorful. I've seen this on the web. I do like it, but I wouldn't want to have it at home.
It's new. So, a new collection. And let me show you here. It's very colorful. But I think for me it wouldn't stand the test of time. Although it looks fun, especially when styled like this. It's called flur. I mean, this does look nice.
I really like the colors. You are probably aware that Willow and Buff also has glassear. This range is called Boston. I always tend to go for clear glass. This one is very nice. Let me check what it costs. So,
this is 1250, of course. This is very simple table wear, but it could look nice when styled with a gorgeous uh tablecloth. So, this I I can't see the name because I'm not wearing my glasses. Sorry. So, this is something I prefer. It's simple, but because of this little pattern, it's a bit more fun for me. I really like it. This is also
1880. This is called Manoa, by the way. Okay, let's have a look at this. So, that's called Colorful Spring. I quite like it. See the pasta bowl?
That's lovely. That's 1880 to give you an idea. And here you can see the colorful spring table wear. I think it's beautiful. This table wear I can see
for alresco dining and all the colorways are really beautiful. So, this is like Yeah, like a a green blue. I think that's my favorite. That's a lighter blue. I hope you can hear me. Uh I know that's not It's almost like a purple. This is a blue. A lighter blue. And here on the left is a dark blue. I think I really like the green.
Let me check the name for you. I think this is called L. Not sure about the pronunciation. So this little plate is 22 90. Actually there's another color and I actually really like this one as well. Can really see this in a garden on a beautiful styled garden table.
Is it strange to show you some Christmas table wear? I don't think so. We have a music box and it was actually a gift from my sister some years ago. It's very precious. Not sure. I will check out for you how much they are. So the price of
this is 7630. I always love plates for Christmas biscuits. They're so nice. See also the small ones. Really like these. This one is so
precious. Look, it's very nostalgic. That's beautiful. So, this is the one that we saw on the wedding table and it's called signature. Let me just check the price for you. Very elegant. So, I need to be careful. As you can see, this is more pricey. So, a
plate costs $47.90. Could also see this on a Orient Express train. In case you want to know the name of this table wear, this one is called An. And here's the other one from the Northern Bell. And I would really love the would really love to know the price of a plate. So also from the signature
collection. So a plate is $69.90. This is Metro Chic. the name of the table wear. I just love this so so much. When I visited the outlet, not this one, another one with my parents some years ago, I had a look at this and my mom really loved it as well.
I was hoping they have my parents' table wear as well which is called Vilda but sadly they don't and I must admit I will go home with a mug with a very nostalgic mouth mug which is for Christmas. So, here's my dad and L is almost 20 months old. L come cooking first video. Come cooking. Take this mal.
Now before we go home, my dad and I decided to go to the Zash life. So Zaland has the big river saw and what you can see from here is the big bend. I will show you. I haven't been here in decades. So, I really love this area. I
think this area is the most beautiful part of Scaland. I hope you like it as well. So, this is the famous So this is the in English it's called the great bend. Really beautiful with all the the forest.
My dad wants to take a picture. Oh yeah. Let's see. This is the so-called bambad. Uh in English it's called treetop path where you of course have an even better view. towards the sash lier. But I think dogs aren't allowed, but I think lot wants to go home. I
don't know. I haven't been here in decades. And not sure if you can see the the castle ruin. It's called Monontlair. Monontlair Monontlair. It's called Monontlair, but it's a gorgeous part here in Thailand. Okay, I'm back at my dad's and I want to show you the beautiful mug that I got. It was the
only thing I can carry back to England, which might be a good thing. It's so hard not to get carried away. This is the Christmas mark that I got which has such a great size for a big cup of tea. It's called Toys Fantasy was €180 but you get €3 off if you book the exhibition tour which was €12. I really like it. It's very old-fashioned and nostalgic. And after Jük, this is has become the love of my life. Lot she absolutely loves her walks
and she is she enjoys a cuddle so very much. I've grown up with dogs and she is the cuddliest so far. And well, yeah, I want to say goodbye. it. Oh, I have to say goodbye. It's so hard to
part with this precious cockus spaniel. Not to show your face. And um there was something else I wanted to say and I can't think of it. And I think
the next video might be really interesting as well. So stay tuned for that. And me and L are saying goodbye from Germany. Until next time. I love
her so much. Lot. I love you. Look at this gorgeous and precious
face. See, she gets still or she becomes quite still when she when she gets her cuddles. So until next time and then back in England sadly without water. But whenever I'm in Germany I will I will show you this gorgeous stop.
Bye bye.
