My First Time in Bangkok - They Have Orange Coffee Here?
um do you have orange infused coffee yes my first this is my first video in Thailand it starts all the way in the end of the street and now here all right all right guys welcome to another video I'm here in Bangkok Thailand my first time ever here and uh I'm quite excited to go and explore Thailand So the plan is to visit first a bit of the modern side of Bangkok and then go to the old town as well explore there uh see some temples uh try some food but uh first mission of the day is to find some coffee and my friend Ellis WR he told me that the orange infused coffee is very popular here so I might go for that one let's see if I can find it [Music] o very loud um orange coffee orange coffee orange here this one has okay thank you thank you yeah I was having a hard time finding it but he said here wait okay Works hello morning um do you have orange infused coffee yes okay I want to try it's my first time trying okay 80 baht 80 baht okay can I pay with card or cash only yeah thank you so so how do you make the coffee is it um the beans are with orange or you add orange to the coffee uh coffee with on top with orange so you add orange after um before Oh before okay can I see it can I can I see yes I've never tried orange juice coffee or orange infused coffee not sure how you call it so that's fresh orange juice yes okay okay okay so that fresh orange juice even on a scale wow it's a professional operation here is it cold brew coffee yes oh so orange juice ice cold brew coffee okay my friend told me I have to try it oh and then even some fresh orange as well oh wow okay okay thank you very much Kap khun ka I'll sit here for a minute okay so we have um orange infused coffee I would rather call it um orange juice with coffee I don't know these guys were waving so I let them be in a video but uh yeah let's give it a try oh and I love the kind of cups they have here with like a rubbery cover very different than I ever saw I don't know Should I shake it or should I shake it no just drink like this okay I don't know they're showing me a video but I have no clue I think they're uh Germans from Germany yeah Germany definitely they're from Germany and they're um from the football team or something oh ah okay I just started I'm making a mess already so it's like um not sweet at all it's very bitter but um I still like it but I think I still need a hot coffee after this because I feel like the popular culture here in Thailand is um iced coffee but I'm really a hot coffee guy so after this I'll have a hot coffee as well wow it's very special it's really not sweet even the orange juice is not sweet because of the bitter coffee you know cold brew is very bitter no sugar added so it's definitely a wakeup call the orange infused coffee is very popular here very popular in Thailand right popular popular no not popular oh okay so this is actually also called orange espresso espresso Sunrise Bumble coffee OJ Express or Simply Orange coffee that's how most people know it orange coffee and it's very interesting because basically what a lot of people do in the morning is they get an orange juice and a coffee but here you have a two in one so it kind of makes sense okay thank you very much o I love this door it just wave and it opens okay on to the next one more exploration here in Bangkok let's do [Music] it so I came from there and I just took a turn here in a side Alleyway I'm trying to dodge this car but there's some uh street food going on here you can see all there here as well street food everywhere ooh maybe just maybe I can grab a breakfast here hello sir oh yeah I need to practice my Thai skills as well it's Sawadee ka there's like a whole Market section here and so many coffee places but mostly they promote the cold coffee so I really need like a hot coffee maybe they do also hot coffee but um let's do some exploration first and then find another coffee yeah this is definitely a local market you can see it clothing food um lottery tickets I guess pillows everything you need is here everything you need is here really slippers oh and it goes much further there as well okay even uh the world famous um elephant pants they're selling here but that's for the tourists I guess not for me though oh they have the fresh lumpias here as well from all these smells I'm getting hungry hungry hungry hungry sawadee ka um what what is this this omelet omelet with vegetables vegetable omelette this is you know this uh oh it's a vegetable you know green green ah I ah translation okay it smells really good actually so that's why I stop here oh acasia omelet ooh sounds good sounds good okay uh how much is one uh 30 how you say tao rai ka ah okay okay one pleas one please I just arrived I'm practicing practicing thai you want to cut oh yes yes [Music] yes okay we're going to have an acasia omelet what is the Thai name name and Thai acasia omelet uh okay seems like a good breakfast for me they're making fun of my accent I guess I guess that's really happening here just cutting it up to make it easier to to eat it like that oh they serve it in a nice plastic bag okay okay thank you oh you can keep the change change for you oh no sure thank you thank you do you have um fork fork maybe okay okay wait I'll take it here okay thank you Kap khun Ka all right our breakfast is secured but I'm just going to run away from the copyrighted music and I find a spot to eat the the breakfast somewhere outside the market here I'll just uh sit next to these people and have my breakfast Sawadee Ka helloo can I sit here yeah sure okay okay are you from here from Thailand no oh where are you from Hawaii Hawaii Belgium Belgium yeah oh I see you have the fan around your neck too hot here yeah it's really hot it's really hot yeah I'm also having uh some breakfast here what what are you having we had a whole bunch of everything por some rolls wow oh the fresh lumpia rolls yeah looks nice having just an omelet acasia omelette or something nice never tried it they serve it in a bag and then another bag and also I have some cutlery let's try this acasia omelet let's give it a try so this is acasia omelette it smelled really good that's why I had to stop at that stall because it was so good so good Wow it's a new flavor it's um maybe a little bit like spinach can see it's very green a little bit like spinach with an omelette definitely a good source of protein I guess how long are you here my first day now okay I'll stay 2 weeks and then I'll go back to okay I just used your bike for a yeah good that you said you tell me my GoPro was almost gone so my new friends here just offered me some corn juice also typical from Thailand or I I haven't seen it anywhere else first time seeing it definitely smells like sweet corn so corn juice let's give it a [Music] try should get like m I don't want too much I don't yes it's like a sweet corn juice best from nature loving it all right finished up The Omelette time for some more exploration back into the market so we're exploring more of this Market I think this is the section with more um clothes and wow what is this actually that's not clothes that's food oh what is this what is this okay not now I just had an omelet and I feel like the green leaves from the acasia I guess it's still in between my teeth I don't know I hope not otherwise the rest of the video I'll be having um stuff between my teeth I really feel like that green of The Omelette is still between my teeth I don't know if it is people might think like what a crazy vlogger here on the street showing his teeth but um I don't know it feels like it feels like I need a toothpick or something okay let's do it here we have a Buddhist shrine yeah I guess I will see plenty of those here in uh Thailand because Thailand is majority a Buddhist country so um yeah lots of temples lots of shrines lots of Buddha statues and all these things so yeah always nice to see wow these buildings here it's on another level I mean it's I went to Kuala Lumpur a few times already and it's similar but this is even on another scale look at this I don't know how many floors that is but I don't know I don't want to count them but it's like 50 or something damn so many and that one even more should I count them that's the BTS BTS uh Bangkok transportation system I think it's called so uh probably later I'll take one of those uh to go to the old part wow people are so friendly all smiles whenever they see me and talking to myself or talking to the camera they always like hello that's nice that's [Music] nice I see they have the same methods as in Belgium sawadee ka they have the same methods as in Belgium one guy working two guys looking in Belgium it's also like that well anywhere in the world probably the new guy has to do all the work let's see uh how much real estate is here so for example we have a two bedroom two bath condo 85,000 a month and here 35,000 a month this is probably a studio apartment um yeah you can see the price here 25,000 a month 35,000 a month 35 so lot of for 35 let's see how much 35 is 35 35,000 thai baht is uh uh $980 so let's say about $1000 for uh this one for this one this one yeah this one is a little bit higher scale 85,000 a month but you can see it's two bedroom two bathroom wow fully furnished and everything yeah Bangkok is a huge City so many Condominiums and everything I think it's 11 million people the population so uh yeah it's a really huge City if you think about it um where I from Belgium we have 12 million people in the whole country and here just in the city it's already 11 million it's really insane it's really insane wow we sell weed well yesterday when I arrived in my hotel I think my neighbor was also smoking weed because my room even smelled like weed so uh I think it's really a hype here now everybody's smoking or something because uh it's legalized here in Thailand so I guess a lot of people do it a lot of tourists especially maybe I don't know I have no clue and it seems that we have made it to the massage Street like everybody asked me massage massage here massage massage massage massage more massage wow I know in some place they have these kind of streets with um one item that they sell in the whole street but here's the massage everybody's telling massages here maybe at some point I'll have to try that but um I know Thailand is famous for oh sorry Thailand is famous for the happy-ending massages and I'm not really down for that uh so I need to find one that is a normal one a normal massage place let's see if we can find that actually I'm dealing with a painful shoulder it's not from vlogging it's from the gym but uh I need to start vlogging with my left hand so I can rest my shoulder a bit oh and here the Tuk tuks well you can see them that's a Tuk but you can hear already the engine of the Tuk tuks is on another level like I have taken so many Tuk tuks in all kinds of countries but I think the original idea from the tuktuk is from Thailand I'm not sure don't shoot me if I'm wrong but here the Tuk tuks have a much much stronger engine look this is one for example you can see it also the tires well the front tire is pretty thin but the back tires are pretty thick and you can fit more people in it they're more colorful than in most countries is yeah it's it's very different than in India for example the tuk tuks are much smaller there so it's a different concept a little bit but still uh oh no thank you thank you wow people are all smiles here isn't that what they call Thailand isn't that what they call Thailand the land of smiles well you can see it hello hello what a happy grab driver I thought he was grabbing my attention see what I did there but uh he was just saying hi which is nice I thought he wanted to offer his service to me but uh I'm on a mission uh of walking a lot because um I want to be fit again I used to be very fit and then I started traveling and everything went wrong staying fit while traveling is not easy so I'm doing as much as possible on foot but of course if the distance is really long and it's super hot or whatever then I will um not walk and I will take whatever vehicle I can find but for now I'm so good I'm so good so as you all might know Bangkok has extremely hot temperatures especially this time of the year and uh you know what Bangkok is famous for for the high density of malls and uh you know what they have in the malls air conditioning so uh I'm on a hunt for a mall right now because I'm sweating buckets here I need a drink and a mall urgently so I feel like I'm surrounded by malls but I just have to find the entrance because it's a bit tricky here you have like these Bridges pedestrian Bridges you have the BTS I think that's a mall um I think there is also a mall but uh I just have to figure figure out where the entrance is It's Tricky It's Tricky excuse me uh sawadee ka uh the mall is can I go here for the mall mall this way yeah okay okay thank you okay I was really not sure but according to these steps look at the steps all publicity so I guess uh must be to a mall or something they're promoting the s24 here my future phone maybe this is the BTS and then here is the entrance to the mall a few steps away from Air Conditioning hopefully because it seems like an outdoor mall I need an indoor mall where there's AC let me just go up the steps and try to find some AC because I need it okay I'm leaving this mall again no air conditioning it's an outdoor mall but uh as far as I saw on Google Maps on the other side there's a proper indoor mall that hopefully has air conditioning and a cool drink so what do we have here Siam Center I think that's the part of the mall but this is also a mall I think and it looks like it's indoor is this a mall yeah I think so oh wow I think might be a little bit too cold even and look at this wow look there's like a whole Fountain system here with a dragon W looks impressive impressive okay this definitely qualifies as a mall Louis Vuitton Gucci Chanel um all kinds of Brands all the designer brands are here but um yeah I'm not buying any of those I'm just looking for a cold drink and cold temperatures let's see what we can find Patek Philip but um I'm happy with my Garmin Fenix much better in my opinion okay I feel like they might have hot coffee here hello Sawadee ka do you have cappuccino here yeah hot cappuccino yeah okay can I have one please Ah My Savior My Savior of the day yeah 95 95 okay okay thank you thank you okay A little promotion for my savior of the day they have milch here and I have no idea what it is but it seems to be from Japan and it looks honestly very delicious I might have to order a little bit more look at all these things milch pudding like some kind of Cheesecake here matcha pudding Hmm this looks really good but not now not now I'll just sit down for a minute and uh enjoy my coffee with a nice view look at this beautiful view look at this I'm in The Gourmet eats section here of the Siam Square Mall um my body temperature went down already just a coffee now and then I'll be on my way more exploring this right here guys will get me through the day because we have a long day ahead and also will add a little bit of sugar for the welld deserved Sugar Rush so I've been um out for about 3 hours and uh I'm already at 10,000 steps so uh my mission of staying fit will be a success I think uh I will end the day with 30,000 steps or something so um yeah coffee then back on the road so we just left the mall uh and as I'm walking here in the bright Sun usually I keep asking myself why am I not walking there actually there's a sky Bridge why am I not using it and you can even see like three layers one two three so plenty of space but why am I walking in the sun I have no idea okay I think I'll go up these stairs and then make my way into the sky bridge and you can see that's the BTS system okay guys we are here at the cm square BTS station and I want to make my way to the Old Town of Bangkok and um we have the map right here so currently I am right here and I want to go uh I want to go I want to go here so that means I have to take the green line up to sala daeng then switch to the blue line up to sam yot now um I have to figure this out how this works to buy the tickets and everything but I'll just go to the ticket office which always is the easiest solution you can also have the ATMs here but um ticket office is much easier if there is one and it seems like oh there is one yeah let's try let's try I think that will be much easier not sure which line is the fastest but let's go for this one hello hello uh I need to go to this to Sam yot yeah first you go to Sala Daeng station and you buy again I need to buy another ticket there okay okay uh 35 how much 25 25 uh yeah I only have this one thank you thank you all right so we have our tickets for the first station for the second station up here okay that worked yeah so we have our ticket for the first station which is only two stops but after that I need to buy another ticket which is a little bit annoying I wish I could buy it in one go but um nonetheless we will make our way to the old town so in order to figure this out easier I wrote down the stations I need and the end destinations as well which you have right here so I'm going to salad dying and the end station is bang and uh bangwa you can see it there because they always mention the end stations so bang so I need bangwa platform three I think it's actually my first time ever taking a Sky Train so I'm kind of excited for that as you can see it's in the sky this is where the train will stop here all the people are waiting waiting okay the train with destination bangwa is there I'll just follow the locals that's always the best way okay oh nice and cold oh loving the AC here so we need to go to salad that's how we need to be only two stops nice and cool here okay first stop salad ding now buy another ticket and then go to our end destination um I need to go to sam yot Sam take the subway subway go down go not here oh not here okay thank you thank you oh it's actually a different station I thought the connection would be in the same station I need to go to a different station now I understand why I need to switch stations so I'm actually switching from the BTS to the MRT which is a different um vehicle a different transportation system so that's why it's not the same station it should be somewhere there according to what the guy said silom station I guess it's that one okay for a change let's try these uh machines here so it's only cash I think I don't see anything for cards and I need to go well first I need to change to English how do I do that I don't know oh this is from the previous oh English okay so end destination lak song but I need sam yot which is BL30 how does this work uh I have no clue okay 24 baht do have some coins by now 24 baht so we have five 19 left this is the 20 and this is a 20 oh oh that was a 10 okay I'm doing this onehanded guys onehanded not easy okay four baht left let's try this one okay got this and my change is also here okay it's with a token so it's a different system MRT is with a token the other one is with a card tap here token okay that worked okay we're in we're in now figure out which location which platform I have no clue no clue I'm really not a city guy you know I'm used to taking taxis and Ubers and whatever but using this kind of Sky Train or even Metro I'm really not used to it so we have Lumpini Park exit no that's not what we need let's see maybe I'll ask the friendly lady there I'll ask her hello Sawadee ka um do you know how to Sam Yot Sam yan Sam yot I don't know I'm not sure you can ask information uh which one there oh I need to go out again oh yeah okay thank you I don't think I if I go out again I don't know if I can reuse the token though so Hmm I'm a little bit lost little bit lost lak song terminal that seems like what I need well we will know soon if I'm heading into the right direction okay it should be this one if I'm if I'm wrong well then we do a little tour around Bangkok oh wow this is much Fuller than the other one the BTS was almost empty this one is so full next station okay we made it to the old part of Bangkok or that's what I think at least because I figured this route out by myself and uh I still have a bit of a walk to do until I reach the proper Old Town so let's go yeah and I must say this a public transportation systems in new cities are always a bit tricky you have to look a little bit ask around a little bit but uh I made it I didn't make any errors because I know I have been in other cities where I took the metro in the wrong direction and all this stuff but I learned from the past and and uh I managed without much issues actually and as far as I understand there are three public transportation systems here in Bangkok uh which is the BTS which is the sky Train then you have the MRT which is the Metro system and then you also have the SRT uh which I don't know what it is but I hear the I hear the word here so you have three systems and then you obviously also have buses taxis Tuk tkes that's more for the tourists you also have the bikes that you can take just hop on the back and yeah so you really don't need a car or anything here you just can take so many options for public transportation so no car needed okay back in the daylight Back In the Heat of Bangkok woo I love the the temperatures down there but uh now it's back to reality back to reality but not sure where to though I'll figure it out Bangkok the Venice of the East I think they say because of all the little canals they have as you can see we're walking through the old part now of Bangkok and uh I must say it's very Charming actually it's like small streets little food stalls even though now the food stalls are mostly not out because it's um afternoon too early for the evening too early for the dinner it's very Charming people going about their daily lives um here and there some food stalls uh yeah I love it I love it it's a complete different vibe than the modern Bangkok where you're surrounded by skyscrapers here the highest buildings are like what three floors maybe but still it's very nice people are all smiles as well very friendly so that's nice but uh we're on our way to uh some monuments now cuz uh that's what we didn't see yet here in Bangkok well we saw a few small ones but uh we're on our way to a proper one let's go so as I walk next to this beautiful building I think it's um government building or something I see this lady here I wonder who she is um I'm really not sure maybe I can ask this sir hello sir um what is the name of this lady huh who who is this lady who is it what is the name of the lady who is she no no no no no you don't know no no no okay I don't know who it is seems like a governmental building lots of flags out here so not sure really not sure who she is probably um maybe the queen or something wow and look at this house is so beautiful look at this wow the night house I guess it's a hotel now but it used to be a house from a probably a wealthy person it's very beautiful wow look at there all the way in the back also all these beautiful buildings mostly government buildings but uh I love the architecture really beautiful Lukaku oh you know Lukaku Lukaku Kevin De Bruyne yeah yeah yeah also Eden Hazard oh you like football you you live here I Live in here you're from Bangkok I'm from Bangkok oh and this is the name of the the oldest Road of Bangkok uh oh friendly guy so you hear this from him the local guy he told me this is the oldest Road of Bangkok and you can see it like look at these buildings also how beautiful they are we're really surrounded by old buildings but they're really wellmaintained oh I think this is the current King probably Ministry of interior this must be a king but I don't know which one yeah surely this is a king but I don't know from uh I think now it's Rama 10 but um yeah I don't know which Rama this is and also interesting fact the I think Rama 9 was one of the richest uh monarchs in the world and maybe ram 10 now as well one of the richest in the world wow look at this we have this canals in front of me also canals this looks more like Amsterdam wow and the buildings beautiful there's a guard also there I think he's very well trained um luckily he's in the shade oh he's moving a little bit he's moving a little bit luckily he's very well trained and he's also in the shadow because imagine standing in the sun well I guess at some point he has a sun in his face wow tough job tough job not for me not for me sorry um the only thing I need to find a garbage bin because I'm carrying this bottle already for a while and it's a little bit annoying especially when I'm Vlogging I need two hands okay let see here also wow these buildings are huge mostly Ministry buildings government buildings but uh beautiful that's for sure look at the size of this building it starts all the way in the end of the street and now here it feels like in the modern side of bangcock the buildings are high risers and here they are long risers if that's even a word super long buildings here here in the old town and in the modern town it's super high buildings wow so before and back in the days they used to build maybe a three four floors high but super wide oh and we have a temple there we have a temple there that's where I'm going and the Grand Palace is also somewhere around here so we're also going there so this building starts in the end of the street goes all the way until here and it's the ministry of Defense right now and I don't know how far it goes that way way but look at the size of it wow I think this must be the biggest building like in length or in width that I've ever seen like for real look at this keeps going keeps [Music] going so what you see right in front of us the white wall starts there on the corner goes all the way until here and you can see it's like full of temples a beautiful buildings but it's actually the Grand Palace you can see look at all these towers I think these are all temples and and yeah it's insane it's insane and we can visit it but the problem is that I'm a little bit tight on schedule uh in about 2 hours I have another video to record and I already have an appointment with a a guy from here so I don't think I will be able to visit this time but I feel like I really need to come back um because it looks really beautiful and it deserves um yeah at least a few hours not just 30 minutes because that's all I have left now so I think I will come back here at some point and uh film everything because now it's just too short and it's a waste you know like you if you want to visit such a place you really need to take your time and not just rush it because look at the size of it wow it is incredible incredible so um I'll just go for a little walk in the old town here so we have like um a little bit of a comparison between the new Bangkok and the old Bangkok and and uh maybe I'll have some food as well because honestly I didn't eat anything yet today except an omelette that's all I ate and it's now 3:30 so uh let's see if we can find some food and maybe another drink look at this look at this how beautiful and shiny wow wow wow wow how beautiful and they're doing a photo shoot there it's like a nun or a nurse or something on a photo wow honestly it saddens me a little bit that I cannot visit the palace because it looks so incredible really but um yeah I didn't manage my time well I planned a lot of things in this day and my first day here in Thailand so this would be like a kind of a first impressions of Bangkok you know we had the new stuff we had the old stuff but we didn't really dive deep into different buildings and uh but that will be for other videos so uh yeah I will be back I will be back you know to visit this place because this is a once in a lifetime experience so I definitely have to have to have to check it out and here we have another little sneak peek of how it looks inside and you can see look at the details you can see it from afar already how detail this this is and shiny with gold different colors wow so many temples so so gorgeous I think that's even also part of the Royal Palace so it's there and then here also all the way [Music] there lost for words all right guys I'm taking the metro and the BTS back to my hotel but I'll make a stop for some food because I'm starving I'm really starving I've been walking all day I'm at 17,000 steps and uh the day is not finished yet but uh I need some food because uh I need it good for my diet though okay so my first impressions of Bangkok are really good actually uh it's a huge City it's like the biggest city I've ever been in I think and um the transportation system works well do keep in mind that you also have to walk a lot even though you take public transport you will stay fit uh like me today uh I'm on 20,000 steps now and it's only 4:00 now so uh yeah you will keep fit here but um in general I love Bangkok great Vibes here everywhere Smiles um it's also like a Melting Pot of cultures you can see people from all over the world it's insane it's such a yeah such a big big city but um food that's what I need now let's go hello um what do you have what what is this he ah do you know English a little bit what what what is this chicken chicken okay can I have do um one piece of this please one one piece do you have sauce also sauce sauce oh okay okay okay spicy okay okay okay I'm starving I'm loading up on protein o oh yeah these are ready already Can I taste already yes can I do some sauce please oh no no sauce here for this one okay no sauce so this is the chicken chicken okay let's try some chicken m a sweet marinade sweet chicken marinated and some sweet sauce you can see it on the color also not spicy at all after eating only a small omelette in the morning this is very welcome so good so good the stick you can reuse maybe she will sauce please spicy uh spicy spicy okay just a
