Malaysia Made Us Fall In Love With Durian at a Farm!
good morning everyone good morning we're in the back of a pickup truck and we're going where did you we're going to try out some durian okay we're going at the durian farm so let's go oh oh yeah okay zombie ago farm where we're gonna have an interesting day today we're gonna have a durian filled adventure day and we're gonna plant some durian trees we're gonna nurse some durian trees we're gonna cast some fish we're gonna eat some durian for the very first time because me and gigi have never eaten any durian but unfortunately unfortunately unfortunately before eating the durians you have to do everything else you have to plant them you have to take care of them you have to wait for the tree to grow and for the durian to fall down when the durian will fall down you can proudly say durian because it's so good that you have durian for the rest of the day and not only that it brings prosperity to you because the durian is also very expensive so you can sell it to the market and get some profit upon that this past couple of days were some eventful days we were basically traveling with the people from ministry of magical creatures no i'm sorry from masters of malaysian cuisine and with the help of the ministry of agri-tourism who want to sponsor these farms to the people around here we were selected together to join in this adventure and first explore the nice salon selangor fruit never tried it before so let's see hmm very good sweet shaped like a star and so far in my country they come only in supermarkets but here you can actually pick them from the tree and they're wrapped in this kind of newspaper so they don't fall down when they're ripe they get caught in this baggie and they are protected against the worms and ants and all the other things cool very nice we basically traveled in a tractor throughout the fruit valley and we looked at various trees of coconuts of rambutan of mangosteens and we had a lot of fun i made some friends you can call them you can you can pick them up very good bunny i die happy now i've seen monies i can die happy he doesn't like it he doesn't like getting touched look at him cuteness overload oh he's so fluffy and so um why and fresh coconut water for the rest of the hot afternoon and now i'm looking forward to plant some durian trees and having fun and trying durian for the very first time the reason we chose the specific agro farm is the fact that here they are planting musang king durians this is the biggest governmental acknowledge to musang king agro tourism farm that was mouthful here we learn how to actually plant the musanking durians and first you have to graft them and for those of you who don't know what grafting means you basically take a branch of a durian tree and you stick it close to a kampung version of the durian this way they will fuse together and they would grow stronger because of the kampung durian tree the kampung durian tree is from this place so it's very accustomed to the soil the musang king branch is not so accustomed so together when they fuse they produce the magnificent durian tree okay guys if you want to have a durian you have to get your hands dirty and plant one of these babies in the ground so there's no other way of putting it then take a hole dig a hole this might take a while all right intermissions oh my god you have some experience did you plant any trees before no but i dig dishes before [ __ ] oh wow uh take good care of the durian so that we have it for long long time coming yes and also don't forget to water the durian also okay for it to fruit oh do you know how they are cold because i have no idea i think this is rambutan rambutan to me it looks kind of like a lychee it was like a lychee i don't know i think the lychee isn't that with little hair on top yeah but i the one that i saw in the billboards they look kind of like this i know let's try them out because apparently i know that they're good you have this one oh no you have this one this is red one okay and you try it and i try it because this one is a bit too yeah so i give you the good looking one okay you want to open it first you open it first okay this is the have to eat this seed right or let me see a bit better i don't think it's good but nevertheless we try new things every day so today not only durian apparently also rambutan yes very good what can you we received from the farm yesterday to try it out this one is a d24 durian which we plucked yesterday from here from the farm from the durian at night yes at night and this one is a a nicer version of my one because i was told that this durian is not so nice so i should show the nice one and this is a musang king that gigi found in the morning today today today in the in the in the farm in the garden and this one is supposedly the best musang king ever out of the whole pile so we have now a variety to try for a very first time the durians this is the first time we are trying durian uh we never tried it before we don't know how it tastes like even the fruit we are seeing it for the first time we didn't know it is so spot it is so spiky and it has these um spikes in order to protect the durian when it falls from the tree to protect it from the bounds and uh start that's the moment when the fruit starts the fermentation oh my god you open your first durian yes this looks it's here okay i think i should open all of them yeah let's open all of them and then we can continue with our taste yes this looks like this this is the kampung original dorian from this kind of durian you have all the other durians coming to life and behind door number one wow that's a tough one crack good job michael okay it's a beautiful fruit oh this one is smelly um this one it smells like something this one is less smelly and now let's see this one your capture of the day this is supposed to be musang king is supposed to be easier to cut it has a thinner can than the other one it's a bit juicy as well but i was told that this is probably not a good one really i know try it probably wow it's a you need some force to to do this seven hours later you try to pluck it apart and i'm trying to cut this one okay sure i think this might still be raw a little bit it's still green on the inside so it might still be raw good thing we have more of them yeah we're gonna try to open it a bit later have some specialists coming in helping this out ah this is way easier cjg wow just look at this one just let's sew it to the camera how are you opening just look at this beauty whoa wow okay nice one so you already can see the difference in color this one is more whitey this one is more yellowy and this one is also a bit more white so this dorian would cost around 200 maybe ringgit this is around maybe let's say 20 ringgit and this one would be maybe around 30 ringgit so and this one will be around 50 because it's a higher quality one yes this one would be around 50. so it's pretty pricey fruit we have here we know that durian is some of the most expensive fruit in the world let's taste them gigi let's taste them okay so this one was the first one right the kampung one uh yes you do the honors i think this one looks more mushy okay whoa it's pretty gooey and it's very soft okay you take one and we eat it together okay first time ever trying dorian in malaysia like any time in our life first time trying durianride near river kampung style cheers cheers thank you malaysia thank you it's sweet and it's creamy i'm a bit conflicted whoa and it packs a bunch of flavor oh my god it has like a super strong onion taste now it tastes like banana it's very it's melon yeah and this is the compound one which is supposed to be like the lowest quality wow i kinda like it let's see the other ones this tastes like melon and strawberry i know mine tastes like onions and bananas anyway bananas definitely but i love the creamy we have more here let's try the d24 or otherwise known the one that we plucked last night from the forest like the smell isn't overpowering um maybe because we're in nature we can eat this like easy easy yeah all right okay try this one this is how the nuts look like try this one this is the the one that i found last night this is a bit of dry like it's not that soft as the kampung one okay so this is the v24 d24 i love this one by the way i love the kampung one is so good this one's more meaty it's not as creamy as this one it's not sweet at all i think i have a bad one let me try another one from here okay we're gonna go from here oh here here are the better ones so the thing about durians is that sometimes this one is not the good one but you have to look on other sides and you find the creamy ones there you go gigi this is the good one okay oh this is squishy see yes and squishy let's see yep already big difference wow already big differences are so watery guys watery and sweet buttery buttery watery and sweet and less tasting like onions it does it's way different than this one i like this one better neither one vector but i like the one this one because it packs so many flavors it's incredible this one is more subtle than this one for me okay and now time for the granddaddy okay let's do it oh god this is so sweet time for the money shot time for the morning shot guys you have the camera are you excited ones or we really love dorian i know where has this been all my life i never tried it but now i'm happy i did it tastes like a very sweet melon and banana yeah we don't find it in our country at all we don't find it but they should they should export it to romania we should open a business taking durian from here and selling them in romania what do you think we could there's a farm here so yes and the farm here by the way is very beautiful you have a lot of waterfalls you have a lot of nice trees it's a huge orchard of durian trees i would say and you have not only durians you have here also water apples you have rambutan you have all sorts of things and they're chemical free yes chemical free pesticide free just how beautiful they are as bio as they can get yum i love this seed like if you are gonna throw this d24 seed away you're gonna it's gonna grow another tree but it's gonna grow as a compound tree this we know from honey if the farm owner here the dorian farm owner totally
