Lost In Downtown Havana Cuba
well why do they make uh Fidel look like such a bad person in America you watch the news they make him look bad and then I hear you talk about him and he it sounds like he's a good guy uh yes I think like that okay I pushed the cam no yeah one two three is okay what's up guys welcome to havana cuba it's my first time in cuba and uh yeah we're just gonna find out how this place is what's up my name is ace and i'm not wearing any underwear okay and that's not too much information because you need to know that if you're coming here pack light wear shorts wear thin clothing so you can be the most comfortable when you come to here okay because it's hot i'm in the shade right now but if i keep walking yeah man i'm gonna start sweating all right but i just wanted to get make that clear if you come in here pack light okay and then we'll just be walking around this area uh this is downtown um havana and uh we'll be walking into old havana and i'll just be talking about my tips i've been here for a couple days and i thought i'd share with you the energy all right we'll go through this way there's a grocery store line i'll show you that and uh we'll let's go through um it's an interesting energy so uh thus far i've been here it's my first time here i've been here for three days um but uh i noticed a lot of different things about this place for example uh resources all right now when it comes to resources wow look at this not wonderful yeah i like this type of energy when it comes to resources this place is uh kind of limited on certain things right like for example if you're a foreigner uh and you're an american you can't stay in uh the official hotels you got to get a airbnb or a casa particular like you stay at somebody's house this is a way of actually supporting the the cuban people when you get here right so you get to stay at people's houses and you get to see stuff or i end up staying at an airbnb and so i was trying to figure out how i was going to stock up on some water and they told me i got to go to a hotel they could probably sell it but i can't go into a grocery store like we're about to approach right now reason why we can't go to the grocery store is because their way they have things set up here in terms of uh uh money so because i'm a foreigner i can't use a particular type of money here but the cuban people they use this card and they could go into a grocery store use that card pay for things i can't i don't have access to that so it's a difficult thing let me see see if i can show you some more of the view here i know it was a grocery store did i pass the grocery store okay not yet i think it might be here on this corner we'll just look at the grocery store and that will head that way yeah so i can't go inside the grocery store and purchase things so i'll go to like this uh hotel which i can't stay at they have a restaurant and i can buy while they're there but then this particular hotel also has a rooftop and i wanted to get drinks there and they said no you got to use your car so certain places won't allow it all right so this looks like a place to i don't know get something would i recommend anybody coming here yes if you want to travel to caribbean the caribbean this is an option right here just remember just remember what i tell you about limit and shortages uh so they'll have restaurants that i can go to and i'll try to get me some food and this is like this is like the grocery store right here right that's the line right and in order to uh when you order food it's it's not like the top notch it looks like a lot of stuff that's been stored and saved for selling and they they try to they try to hold it i guess so people what's the word they preserve the food a lot of pressure food you know i mean a lot of old uh which is still good meat but as you can tell it's old it's been there for a while and then serve it to you and a lot of things they have to improvise on like croquettes getting croquettes and uh making things so what i mean by croquetas the they make it in a in a creative way if anything all right let's go this way we'll go back this way and go through the park see maybe we can start talking to some people too another thing is the internet here man internet here is also a uh interesting thing okay so i was able to get the sim card uh where i stayed the owner the airbnb owner he was able to give me a sim card and so i have internet on me right now it's not the best but it's functional it works with uh different apps like whatsapp you know i could talk to my mom and somewhat facetime her in the states and yeah um so that works but like say let's say you're at your your place you're staying you can get like an internet type of card that you put in through your wi-fi so you connect to your wi-fi server and it brings you to another link and it's like a card you scratch it off and it has a code on it and the card can give you let's say the card says five hours right so you put the code in and then as a timer on the page right after you put the code in and it gives you internet but the time is running now so once like you're done with the internet you press stop and then the time freezes let's say you use this one hour of internet you got four hours left if you buy like a five hour card the five hour card is the most you can get at the moment i'm only staying here in havana um i might go to the beach but like the closest beach here but i won't be going into the country unfortunately because my mom i'm taking my mom to go see her sister in another island for her birthday so i don't i'm limited in time here that's why so but while i'm here enjoy the content make sure you don't miss anything all right what's up my brother what's up what's up trust me guys make sure you purchase bring thin clothing you can see i'm glowing already i have to wear socks because my feet are very sweaty but i wish i didn't even have these on the socks i feel like i wear some sandals walking through here feel more comfortable but uh so i could show you how the these buildings look wow all right here we go so i guess this is the more popular strip right here to walk down to if you're wondering like where you want to stay i think this is one of the places people like to stay in ohana i was also able to go out um and do uh some videos of nightlife so look out for that this place has a charm you know what i mean let's say all the embargoes got lifted and everything this place will be in amazing shape in one year within one year why i say that because pretty much all this place needs is a paint job a really good paint job and a little maintenance you know what i mean someone come over here gut this whole place out make make this into a nice hotel they good back to the hotel issue now that's only for americans if you're from a different country you might not have that issue you probably could stay in the hotel but i know for americans we can't stay it might be some other people but americans for sure we can't stay in hotels the only way we can be here is if we're here to um contribute to the economy supporting the cuban people so keep that in mind all right when you come out here they got banks working out here look interesting enough i have a account in columbia south america right a debit card i don't have it with me but if i had that debit card i could use it here at those places it might have been able to get in who knows who knows at least i know i would have been able to pay for stuff don't put no underwear on commando my all right well hopefully her his sister sees that yo those are those cars right here man let's check out these cars hold on man this is what i been wanting to see ah okay man so these taxi drivers make a lot of money and shout out to my boy sees he told me about these vehicles here so for my understanding they have or have limited resources in maintaining these cars and so the way they do it is by uh basically using what they have so a lot of these cars have toyota engines in there it doesn't have the original engine wow this is nice thank you yeah you do a tour yeah quantum hero um dollars best thing about cuba the best thing in baseball baseball baseball it's baseball base where i can see baseball game they got a baseball game here no we don't play no no the season of baseball here in cuba is over oh man a lot of venezuelan come here to play it's not the thing for example mlb in the united states yeah now you can see the plate in the united states ah it's over it's beginning uh said you know let me try and besides i've never been in that type i actually went on another one but it was in a little bit uh beat up shape but it was nice but i want to ride in baller status so we'll do that one but man beautiful so beautiful this area right here really keep this area up nice clean this reminds me parts of places of argentina i've seen before yeah this uh the way the buildings are built and let's see what's behind here let's find out well that goes to show you that cubans are a little bit more resourceful than one may think the reason why uh people might think differently is because of propaganda but uh yeah also check out this place right here guys this is the one of the most exclusive hotels you can stay in havana and i wanted to stay here i was willing to pay uh them out but i can't because i'm american but it has a nice pool view i think i might be able to pay to actually go jump in the pool we'll see what happens mama care what's up my brother i place kind of looks really dope guys if you can see a lot of families here nice quaint place very traditional and in the back there's a nice little seating area i guess that's if you have special guests they'll be in the back room right there this kind of reminds me of like movies you go to you watch of uh like the secret agent he'll be in cuba and he'll be drinking from a bar and there'll be hot uh cuban women everywhere and he's like that mysterious guy we gotta get there at night real late night all right guys there is my daiquiri right here okay looks like just a bunch of ice but we'll try it let's see what it is okay oh it's strong it's strong i want to say there's a hint of coconut in there is that tequila it's a tequila ah havana club uh three oh okay oh wow it's a bomb right here okay there you go guys nice and tasty all right i gotta hurry up and drink this because it's almost 4 20. and you know what happens in 420 right
wow blue cherry blue cherry i don't really drink a lot of daiquiris so i don't know if there's a difference between this and what i might get in america but what i think about what makes it special is the the way they mix the the ice with sugar in it and i have a brain freeze and the cuban rum very enjoyable very enjoyable so guys so this is like a dollar two dollar drink it's very cheap to get one of these drinks not bad oh they gotta be so patient with us that's so dope that they're nice they're patient dealing with us oh money huh all right guys so i'm walking down this park i see a couple of players out here hanging out cubano's chilling so i just got them and i just gave them some money to buy some more because they just feel it so okay all right all right yeah i pulled up on them i see them drinking i was like man let me get let me get my brothers another drink man they chilling out here let them get a drink with you boy let's see if the car is ready and uh let's go i already got the car man i thank girl i love the way these the cuban people speak english here they got the eagles on they will force out american english on your boy all right so we're here here we are back let's for me places like natural places natural places like what where don't they don't for example in san is in havana the best place is a habana forest havana forest habana forest forest right in the middle no the river yes very nice you know it's before that many people don't know about that because these balls you can see there yeah that bus right there you can never go there they never bring your ass okay that's why oh uh how to make with the with the you know the people here yeah with the particular you know and they and they bring you over there yeah okay you can bring you can take you come from I don't know right it could be a lot worse guys in terms of people asking for cash but i'm literally just using dollars hold up guys is my head okay i think my head is crazy so where are we at right now miss tour guide uh well we are right now in front of a grand montana hotel here in old havana yeah uh we're just near to the central park and near to the capitol and just at the beginning of east bishop one of the of the best boulevards here in havana and also that park over there that's uh francisco where's the park there's a park over there yeah over there look you see that man over there yeah the statue oh that area right there that area over the area that's the park francisco alvear named after the military and engineer uh spain a spanish engineer uh charged of the construction of the third aqueduct here in havana okay so let me ask you a question what where the party at where the where where should i need to go like what's that what's that street right there there's a lot of people there really yeah that's a really but that's a street mostly like for cubans because they are doing lines for buying some products if you want to go to the party you should take the indus ray where's the uh just in front of the capitol just head over the capital just start walking by 10 in this race and that's the party we should go or the art factory we should go are you coming with about this building that is the capital of cuba it's the saying of our washington dc capital that's the that's the capital of cuba what's the cuba yes it's uh the saying of the washington dc capital wow but this is five meters much bigger what is huge man and i can see this from where i'm staying man it's like a golden top so like a huge beacon of the city right here you know we have a central park here in havana install the thing of a ultra far from new york that's the central park here in nevada okay right here central park wow beautiful oh that's chinatown right there that got to be chinatown this right here looks like chinatown guys check this out today we have only the name you know no china no daily people are going to another country oh they leave i can sit here i don't know no in this part of the city because we have at the middle of the city oh wow a lot of beautiful architecture yeah all of it need is new paint and it's still nice nice building it's really expensive for everybody yeah they get the paint wow guys check this out a lot of uh what is this hotels or what normal house wow house is very in very nice neighborhood okay the name is uh middle of havana spanish centrovana central okay we're back in downtown this is where we actually started the video all right and that's the chinese boulevard okay chinese boulevard yes if you want to go inside you see many restaurants maybe five six restaurants they need restaurant but if you want to eat when you go inside you see only cuban food no chinese food okay do you see that only here in cuba it's like you going back in time when you see these vehicles and then you see the buildings the way they build and everything for that cuba is different even though havana is different because when the tourists come to cuba it's like the people returned 50 years ago 60 years ago only cuba you see that car in the room yeah yes for that we say we have a museum in the street ah okay we're really getting into el centro right here wow headline is because the people need to find some food maybe a chicken oil yeah i was looking for water man it's hard to get water now right it's really hard for us for pounds on water wow all we need this is the rich area yes put the music down yeah i you know guys when we were going around when i was looking for a place to stay i noticed miramar had like some of the most beautiful homes and beautiful airbnbs but it's like mostly if you're in a group you want to stay here but this is where all the rich uh cubanos viveki and rich people before the 1959 the rich people from united states from cuba rich and live in this part of the city but now i order who lives here these are important people from another country because in this part you see many embassy ah this is like an embassy area oh yeah you know what i see ah i see the flags oh wow yeah yeah it is an embassy area wow all right we're going to the american embassy all right embassies normally typically when you go into the area where the embassy is always kept up nice even in venezuela parts of caracas when you go to the areas where the embassy are very manicured areas like this one right here you see well that's not medicare but the little work you get the point see these nice big buildings here the area the city fixes it but inside the job of fixing the insides or the countries if there are nbc so some of these are not ambitious i don't know but like this is an embassy right here so the job of upkeep here would be the the embassies here usually in american embassies like in this part of the world it's like the biggest ones there are now like small embassies here wow i wouldn't mind living in this neighborhood very peaceful very important those of union el salvador embassy okay look that is the embassy of the united states of america this right here okay wow yeah like i said they're like the biggest thing it's not a regular building it's huge is it closed it's been closed since 2007. donald trump closed oh 2017. is the uh was that one of the tallest buildings here now it's number two in havana i looked online it was another one that's taller now the first uh 10 floors is offices and then the remaining are apartments and i actually stay in one of these right here it's a very central area right here um well not central but a lot of stuff you could do okay let me show you something guys i was earlier in this video i was talking about uh uh wi-fi this is the office you would go and uh get the wi-fi or if you want a card to put on your um uh your cell phone sim you go there or if you want like wi-fi in your apartment you go there and give you five hours of wi-fi card and you know if you missed that part go watch the part in the beginning i explained it and then there's a i forgot the name of this hotel national hotel right here wow and then the cultural building here it's like they do a lot of cultural stuff here and later on in the afternoon i actually passed here too wow very beautiful building man unfortunately i can't stay there because i am an american but uh yeah they have a nice pool area right there probably one of the places i would recommend staying might be expensive though i don't know how much it is but uh it might be expensive but worth it if you could if you got like dual citizen use your other passport oh wow they have so many monuments here man and that building okay this is a university of habane okay university of havana that's the name of it yes wow here is study in the 1940s oh wow yes here born the revolution for that for everybody is really important this area right here and this building the university it's close because it's vacation time summer vacation and it's free it's free it's free oh okay you can go to school for free okay nice all right not only for the people the cuban people for everybody if you are from united states you don't need to pay this free i'm from miami if i want to go to that school i can apply and if they accept me it's free i think it's free okay maybe not for citizen american citizens maybe no but i think it's free okay we got a hospital right here we got a hospital guys check it out all right i know the name of this car you said it's a chevy impala cherry pile of 1959 how much a car like this is like for united for a bite yeah 60 thousand dollars maybe wow it's worth it it's very nice very nice vehicles come back and i love how you guys preserve the seeds got the plastic over the seats it's a lot of maintaining you have to do for this car man yeah it's really difficult for everybody to fix every car because for example me yeah i need to find the piece the real piece the real piece in the united states you need to find a real piece and since it's an american car yes it's in united states so how do you find it i like how do you get it someplace here in cuba another place in the united states you need to find some family for example uh friends to buy the united states a piece and the the guys coming to you cuba okay you can't ship it here you have to fly in with it and give it to you like this you know what the the country has done a lot better than i thought even with all the stuff against it yes i haven't seen other cities but i feel like people have learned how to adjust to the way of life here yeah what do you think uh people could do to make it better you say now here and there yeah what what can cuba do or well what what can make things better here in cuba well i think it's everybody studying everybody study everybody have a career no no not not that but what you think would make uh life here better in cuba for the future yeah for the future for the whole country working everybody working all right wow you got uh these uh famous pictures here guys i've seen this before that's a chair what's his name now we stop there if you want to work working around the place you take a picture all right okay cool take your time and this guy is another hero over there of the revolution so these guys are uh from different countries chess is from argentina and simply from cuba and san francis from cuba born here in japan okay um that building is the revolution scores the most important place in cuba and only in havana is because fidel spoke many times over there in that part yeah of the revolution to many people here fidel have the record guinness from the most len uh launched speech lectures speech in the history eight hours the longest the longest eight hours okay so he did a speech for eight hours now uh october 62 we did a eight hour speech yes because fidel is incredible it's a great main intelligent men okay so how was the country when favel passed away i was in um where was i i think i was in colombia when that happened yeah yeah where how was the country energy everybody was so shocked yes she's shocked because the fidel for everybody here in cuba is the best most important uh guide in the history of cuba okay okay and not only in the political things he said intelligent he born for the politic he born for for is the leader of the people yes now if you like you walk around the place you take a picture over there so this area right here is called the military military this is like the military area right here that buildings the revolution is the more higher point in havana if you go over there that windows you see the all complete havana now it's closed for the kobe but before the kobe you can go to over there and you see the old complete behind the revolution is the office of the president of cuba vice president prime minister ah behind wow over there that buildings yeah i was wondering where's the casa del presidente it's very far to here but it's not in havana it's also in the van about third party okay and that is a national library of havana it's a one of the most bigger library in america and and and the whole america yeah no in the united states in canada america mexico for down wow okay okay latin america okay got you all right nice nice here this place the people of havana celebrate the most important dates in cuba january 1st may 1st july 26 and on october 10th january 1st what about 233 no no we don't have that date okay yeah not the first when the fidel wins the revolution okay may 1st the day of the working people and 26 is the the the beginning of the revolution beginning of the war of the revolution and october 10 is the beginning of the independence war in the 19th century you know you know i'm from america i don't understand right why they make for them look like such a bad person in america you watch the news they make him look bad and then i hear you talk about him and he it sounds like he's a good guy because this is different things it's it's normally for the american people no america politic people yeah uh union soviet is the most ugly country in the world in the history yeah for not from the cuban people no for the cuba people everybody's the same we i think you guys like you like uh you have a nice relationship with russia because they they they've been continually supporting you guys through thick and thin so of course you love russia okay from the people of united states too of you love united states a great relationship for the people of the united states i think there's like some form of disconnect between what you see on media and then how someone's supposed to feel about something because when i went to venezuela it was similar people were like oh they don't like the president but then you go over there and people like oh they're people some people love the president you know and some people don't love it yeah it's normal everybody don't think everybody thinks different yes yeah all right guys so i'm showing you these interesting buildings with these silhouettes of these interesting people i don't know who these guys are but feel free to leave a comment about these guys from my understanding with the revolution and uh with fidel crastro he actually had got a lot of support and that's this guy right here i was watching um bald and bankrupt video and he mentioned this guy this is what google says ernesto che guevara was a argentine narcissist revolutionary a physician writer guerrilla leader diplomat and military uh uh theorist it also says he's a major figure of the cuban revolution basically i'm not even gonna cap i read that from google right anyway so that's who this guy is um how i feel about this government no i'm not cuban you know i'm saying i'm not cuban but i know how cuba is perceived especially coming from miami you know what i'm saying uh i seen what happened when aelion landed i was there i saw it i saw the energy i saw when the cubans protested in the street angry um when the u.s government we're gonna have the marshals come um get uh alien i saw i was in a spanish high school in the cubans they went crazy in that high school roaming the hallways ready to tear it up uh needless to say man the the cuban spirit it's not something to play with they they stick together you go to hialeah hialeah 103 area they're going to come out with their pots and pans and it it doesn't stop from the first generation it is a it is a fire that if you are a cuban you inherit from your family your family will pass the torch onto you as a cuban person uh shout out to
