Golconda Fort Hyderabad | Full Tour | Its History and Secrets
Welcome to my channel Today I will tell you history and secrets of Golconda Fort. Golconda Fort is about 15 Km far from Secunderabad railway station. Nice Scenery I will tell about Clapping Portico in the end of this video. Aslah Khana is a complex structure. Today it is Independence Day The name Golconda came from Telugu words “Golla Konda” meaning “Sheperd's Hill” Golconda Fort is a fortified citadel built by the Qutb Shahi dynasty (c. 1321–1687) as the capital of the
as the capital of the Golconda Sultanate, located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Because of the vicinity of diamond mines, especially Kollur Mine, Golconda flourished as a trade centre of large diamonds, known as the Golconda Diamonds. Bats house (occupied) The region has produced some of the world's most famous diamonds, including the colourless Koh-i-Noor (now owned by the United Kingdom) Golconda shooting zone Golconda Fort has been used as a location for several Indian films including: Wanted, Magadheera, Velayudham and many more. The complex was put by UNESCO on its "tentative list" to become a World Heritage Site in 2014, with others in the region , under the name Monuments and Forts of the Deccan Sultanate (despite there being a number of different sultanates).
According to legend, a shepherd boy came across an idol on this rocky hill. The information was conveyed to the ruling Kakatiya king, who constructed a mud fort around this holy spot. The Kakatiya ruler Ganapatideva 1199–1262 built a hilltop outpost —later known as Golconda Fort to defend their western region. Rani Rudrama Devi and her successor Prataparudra strengthened the fort further. Golconda Fort was first built by Kakatiya dynasty as part of their western defenses along the lines of Kondapalli Fort.
After 200 years, Bahamani rulers took possession of the fort. Under the Bahmani Sultanate, Golconda slowly rose to prominence. I am very tired by climbing till here. But anyhow we will show all the view for the top. Sultan Quli Qutb-ul-Mulk (r. 1487–1543), sent by the Bahmanids as a governor at Golconda, established the city as the seat of his government around 1501.
Bahmani rule gradually weakened during this period, and Sultan Quli (Quli Qutub Shah period) formally became independent in 1518, establishing the Qutb Shahi dynasty based in Golconda. Only few steps ahead to reach our final destination. This structure is located on the top of the out crop and it is a double storage building with open terrace and an audience hall. The lower two stories are called Diwani-l-Khas and Diwani-Am the audience halls. Over a period of 62 years, the mud fort was expanded by the first three Qutb Shahi sultans into the present structure, a massive fortification of granite extending around 5 km (3.1 mi) in circumference. It remained the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty until 1590 when the capital was shifted to Hyderabad.
The Qutb Shahis expanded the fort, whose 7 km (4.3 mi) outer wall enclosed the city. During the early seventeenth century a strong cotton-weaving industry existed in Golconda. Large quantities of cotton were produced for domestic and exports consumption. High quality plain or patterned cloth made of muslin and calico was produced.
Plain cloth was available as white or brown colour, in bleached or dyed variety. Exports of this cloth was to Persia and European countries. We are going to climb to that point.
One of the gates to enter into the fort. Another point for Cannons One one the wells, almost got dried up. Now we are going back. Just now I have shown you the second well, lets go for next.
This is the third well. You can visit and experience the scenery of Golconda Fort. Now I will show you the beautiful garden (Nagina Bagh) The fort finally fell into ruin in 1687, after an eight-month-long siege led to its fall at the hands of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. You would have seen this places in many films. These are the market places in those times. Huge space for market.
Finally we arrived at the exit gate. The design of Clapping portico is like, we here echo while clapping. Please like, share and subscribe our channel.
