Gatorland 75th Anniversary Celebration - Old Florida Roadside Attractions
got to wait a second Daddy's got the camera in his hand where are oh I got to hold you yeah of course that's the problem all right so let's go go to Daddy all right all right all right all right new place um not even new place you just want to be held by Daddy all the time um we're at Gatorland today Rob and I have had a house in Central Florida since 2015 and and we've never been here before so we're all going to check it out yeah it's actually the first time we get to hit out this historic Roadside Attraction here in Florida we've been busy doing other stuff so sorry to interrupt I interrupted again and people don't like that he always does that um but it's it's just cuz we're excited but it's one of the like first attractions in Central Florida right it was here before Disney and all that other stuff that came Gators were the first attraction in Florida regardless of whether or not human beings were here or dinosaurs or whatever it is that's the main focus historically in Florida as the gator big ball look at the big alligator mouth yeah alligator wow you want to go see it that alligator wow you're in the MTH of the gator there's some big teeth right buddy it's a big mouth it's a big mouth what are those you going to brush those teeth teth peeling out the Rocks yeah that's why I like these little old Florida roadside attractions there's not very many crowds just like dinosaur world where we were at a couple weeks ago with you guys that is actually another place like this where you can get in get out it's kind of like a three-hour day maybe I don't even I I don't I don't really know how long it is so I'm hoping it's longer than a 3-hour day hey what are you doing are you looking at the people are you looking at those people are I have two tickets [Music] two entrance this way make a left we got this is we got the greater Gator we got the greater Gator Pass look at all that like there's so many and they're so like perfect looking They look fake like they look like statues especially that one right there with his mouth open that guy right there moves and he ruins the whole statue illusion you see them AR alligators yeah we got to get him used to being afraid of alligators because uh we live in Florida most of the time and South Carolina the other part of the time so there's alligators literally right behind our house all the time is that guy down there bud look at him he's throwing around right there yeah no he's a little guy we got plenty enough out here in Florida for you it's really cool I like this little Garden area like the opening of this is really really nice at first appearance of this place I'm actually kind of bummed that I haven't been here over the last like what 9 years of us kind of being Florida residents part-time full-time part-time kind of I'm kind of getting bum that I didn't come here but it's actually starting to get me kind of excited because I like doing new things especially in Florida going be [Music] cool friends y looking to feed the baby gator all right how many thumbs up thumbs up cool sh 20 fish and how many rods would you like round that got just two sounds good um everyone in this area look in the alligator WI done just return that cardboard trade to me I reuse them or I'll take go so fast thank you friends you guys have fun watch out for Birds W how many you want 20 fish coming right up thank you say hi look at all [Music] [Music] big one standing on the look at that guy bud [Music] water I get you a little chook [Music] see those little alligators in there those babies those are the babies see them say hi yeah all the baby alligators right there see him in there it's cool right you can get right up on him right there huh oh snake baby a snake oh my gosh they're so cute what's that RJ snake a snake look at the Snake look right there wow waa he's getting going up he is going up snake snake snake is he going to go try to go to that Branch I think he is waa look at the snake bud no see we can see his face better now w there's Panthers on the door yeah lizard look Bud oh big lizard look at Dr what is that iguanas yeah iguanas they like to sit on top of the trees and in Florida when it gets really really cold they all like start falling out of the tree they fall out of the tree yeah they're going to like hibernation or oh there's one right up there how yeah oh there too Mom look at the Sun so they have this Gator called Jolene that's missing the top of this mouth that's pretty crazy and it looks like like an albino turtle look buddy there is an albino I think that this is the cage for the sick look yeah a wow that's crazy it has no top of its mouth there never seen anything like that then there's that albino turtle I guess yeah I believe this is for the uh animals that might be sick or can't fend for themselves properly but there is something over here did you see this for the prosthetic it's like a prosthetic oh [Music] wow she doesn't have any bone or movable portion of her upper jaw to attach the prosthetic so it wouldn't work just flop right down into a lower mouth I wonder how it's able to eat I mean it's I don't know it's kind of sad for like an alligator to be missing like that's vital like you could be missing like almost any other part of your body as an alligator but your mouth is like a crucial component yeah oh wow they even have cats in [Music] here the Panthers I guess it's fitting for Florida as well the Panther and the alligator they kind of go hand in hand the other one was sitting up here and then it saw something in the woods and it jumped down and then like went like went towards so there's three in here two I only saw two I don't know there's two laying down in there right there so they're all together right now this place is unexpectedly very cool I knew it was probably going to be a cool place Gator land's been around for a very long time but it's actually very well done and we've only been to the front of the park right here so I I I want to get him on the train he'll be excited about that obviously I've told you before dude's in the trains so we're going to get him on the train but actually this is very much exceeding my expectations it's really nice it's a clean park there it's really not like overly packed right now um we're here on a Sunday but still good parking I mean it's it's so far so good a crocodile monitor I've never even heard of one of those before you see that guy he a really to face oh you're getting sad wanted me he got mad that I turned him to come with all right look what's this uhoh looks like we're getting to the train is this a train station we're getting to the train wow yeah this is cool man what are those what are those they Nam are Tonga and violet wow oh my gosh I didn't even notice the toris there there's two big ones on the other side that we ran past that we get on the way out but there's there's this one and then there's two two huge ones on the other side Turtle said turtle say hi Turtle let's bring him over closer he's never been that close to a turtle yeah he has when the petting zoo and when we went in in oh oh yeah so cool what do you think about that is it cool so [Music] cool he's shy The Headless owl headless Hulk headless Hulk there he oh there's his head oh that that he has a cool looking face wow hi owl say hi owl there another one in here this is a pretty big big cage just have one I guess one owl for one cage like that what is that actually that's a pretty cool little train right there ow godwins Iron Horse Central Florida's first amusement park ride that's cool that is pretty cool yeah look at that this is a good train ride we're going to be here quite often just for this train cuz this is a very cool train setup that they had I thought it was kind of I I actually thought it was going to be like a dinosaur world one where you just it's kind of like a car like the ones at the mini malls right the outlet malles that's cool that's actually really cool [Music] thank you all righty guys we're about to get boarded on the Gator Land Express please make sure you have your green armband available and ready for me to see you need a green armband to ride the train if you do not have a green Armand it is $3 a person cash only once again please make sure you have your green arm band where's Daddy there he is yeah thumbs up five the gator express my name is Logan I will be your conductor we're going to start this trip off with a little bit of a history lesson if you saw those signs back there Gatorland wasn't always known as Gatorland we were known as the Florida Wildlife Institute and a year later we changed our name to snake Village Gator off-road Adventure if you guys want to do that experience head on over to Gator Joe's you can get in a monster truck and they will take you to the back parts of our Park you'll go over jumps you'll go through puddles and you'll end up in a private Lagoon with over 70 alligators in it that is pretty cool that's pretty cool we will definitely have to come back here to do the zipline I have to check that out and we'll do the monster truck thing so that'll be like the extreme day at Gator Lam we'll check all this little stuff out or big stuff and major attractions I guess you would say with the Gators and animals and we'll come back for a a day of ziplining and monster truck oh look our they we're going to go right past one there's one on the tracks have those PPS on their back and they have those humps on their back kind of like a camel would have a hump on their back that's because during the long drought times that Happ in India those guys go about yeah they're bolds W if you guys look on your right hand side it's the breeding March the largest enclosure we have here at the park and it comes is about 15 1/2 ft once again guys I want to say thank you all so much for riding the Gat press with me today y'all have a safe great and a beautiful rest of your day here at Gatorland the alligator capital of the world see what's over here there's this big peak right here so I guess you could look down into the park no they have zip lines oh that's the zipline really yeah they have zip lineing here wow that's cool it's cool that they have the birds out like this [Music] it' be nice that they could fly but they would just fly away like fly there and back like they do at Disney and animal Animal Kingdom when they had those birds fly overhead like that that is probably one of the coolest features of the animal attractions in the park the zip line like the second stand goes ends up you leave from there and then you go over this like hit of gators yeah that's cool that is really cool that's kind of enti oh wow he was blending in right there yeah wow that is a cool zipline probably not the coolest one that I've ever been on because that one that we were on in Puerto Rico the last time we did ziplining in Puerto Rico that was bringing us through the mountains forget what it was called it was like Monte Monte veres or something like that Mont Zuna was in Costa Rica no there there was that one but it was like it was like a bull it was another one I forget Theo mon Toro or something like that I forget what it was that was probably the best one we ever did as well as the ones in Costa Rica we did some pretty good zipline I like zip lines zip lines are dope that looks really cool Rob likes to hang upside down on zip lines like he's Spider-Man yeah he likes to like go all the way upside down W crocodile oh it is it is yeah it is a crocodile you want to go down oh my arm wants him to go down he likes the drag his feet in the [Music] sand the skeleton of an alligator it's pretty crazy [Music] who hi buddy hey little squirrel oh he's looking at you you blew him a kiss yeah good job she laid her NE in a crocodile so that's what happened to [Music] autoc oh my go cool look look what up see that bird nice bird you don't care about the bird I guess it's like you could tell like the tops of them haven't gotten wet in a while beast and Bell lace monitors that's a very cool looking one another one that looks like a tiger look there's another one there looks [Applause] yeah what is that person doing what is that want to see again look look up look up look [Music] [Applause] is that cool byebye byebye look Bud wow that's more like the alligator that we have in our backyard here in Florida we have this size alligator swim past our house all day long over there too wow crazy oh that that one's got a big back right there oh wow I didn't even see him wow W he's huge that's crazy look at that head AR I think they like I don't know if you call them like the jowls like the sides like right there yeah he's massive he's huge look how big that is imagine you fell in there so big that would be crazy I mean imagine you had to fight a gator imagine you were swimming and just something like this like you're not like at Gator Land you're just not expecting to encounter something like that like some people do when they swim in Florida and they encounter something like that a dinosaur look at that like I said this is more along the sides of what we have swimming past our house on a regular basis that guy over there is a monster he's proba he's a monster that's why he's in the shade he's probably really old too oh wa they're making moves I just kind of seen movement over here wow I like how Lively this place is they're just not all sitting around very very cool I'm mad kind of that we never came here and I'm happy happy that we never came here because it's something new that's you know there's a lot of things that we haven't done that we should have done so yeah but now that we have a baby cuz a lot of the things we would do it would be good for kids so I mean he's he's having a little bit of a fit today at times but it is kind of hot out but it is there is a lot of moving around but he does well yeah he has his top mullers coming in so he's been teething so he wants his this is by far the definite like coolest area of the park like wide open inside the breeding Marsh over here look birds flying around Gators everywhere like literally over every single rail another big Gator look at that guy crazy coming over the berry stain probably bird poop yeah come there a cloud of dirt like around that one who we don't have any food watch your fingers kisses okay watch those fingers good job bud see the other guys over here I love how the goats have slides yeah that is kind of cool look go this a that looks like Kaa that one has colors like corut okay get your face there food in there you got a little pieces of food stuck in there your [Music] get you I don't see it we in bob cat by you right there is little old bobcat look at that Bobcat wow he's sleeping I don't think he's sleeping I think he's just really heated right now getting that shade what do you think about that [Music] cat I know somebody who might be take some enur to get this man back out come on prove it to me throw a hand in the air give me a big hey look at all these B up te who help me go swimming real quick sh I do we got two alligators right here get a big one no no you can get a small one man and that one on top that's little can't that's little oh no no that's not little that's little fo never mind I think I overe explain it it's real simple okay on to count of three I'm going that way you're going that way dude you ready all right 3 2 1 go get him you ain't going in there all right you smart kid how you you're 13 that's the fastest way not to see 14 okay the just show you some really cool things show you some really import you to help me I'm social this that was 3 years ago all right whatever smiling that's a good thing right yeah hey buddy hungry next thing got do I got to jump on this alligator's back the problem is that's right behind all the teeth but you know what I think we're just going to go for it before he knows what's going on we landed on yeah I don't know I Norm don't make it this far obviously they have an alligator wrestling show that's probably one of the bigger highlights people love watching other people wrestle dinosaurs essentially swamp walk see I like these walking like boardwalks like this like dinosaur world and and celebration if anybody's been there with us before this is more like a you know like an adventure really this is more like the jungle you do know that there are gators on property but there are gators on every Florida property so just take that for granted that there are gators all over Florida but this does have more of a wildy type feeling even though there's these signs the signs the signs take away but still we were originally going to go to the zoo today but then we were talking about Gator land and I'm like it's closer than the zoo cuz we'd have to drive to Tampa but um this is like right in Central Florida and honestly it's a really cool Park and it doesn't get like super overcrowded so it's like you have room to walk around see all the different things cuz there are a bunch of different little like activities within the park and this is like a chill like cool down area right here like it's not it's not hot in here at all it is hot out there in the sun you get inside of here it is literally like 10 15 degrees cooler inside of here and like I said I love like rainforest hikes any kind of like woodsy hike any kind of hike or anything like that it kind of has to do with exploring and stuff like that getting to the place I love the journey and this makes you feel like you're kind of on a journey to see something see normally there's so much water here he down side there he's under there he's like a striped pattern oh I see him right there there he goes peeking out right there yep there he that's another one there's another one over there see that's a baby water moccasin there too where's number two look Gregory right there oh that's a good picture oh yeah we can show them see we said we find water we find the snake Christy was just saying do you think those people over there that were speaking about the water moccasins in the turtle hang out all day over there so they could speak about the water moccasins in the turtle and I'm actually kind of happy that they're speaking about the water moccasins in the turtle because I was not aware that there were water moccasins underneath us so now I know that there's water moccasins underneath us so yeah I mean I'm seeing signs for snakes but I see signs for snakes literally all over Florida and I don't normally I mean I see them skitter through the grass and stuff like that and they're mainly more afraid of you than you are of them so long as you're not going after them or doing anything to them they usually just don't pop out of nowhere and attack you but still all the same I like to know that just below us there's potential danger it's like a Feeding Frenzy over there guys massive good job another Florida staple the pink flamingo they look very nice I really like their I like that one right there that's really pink that's a really nice color like an orangey pink very pretty birds massive one over inside of there like that guy right there is big yeah wow you can't even see his head sh under the dock there he is right there Fe yeah that's what I was saying before this is The Feeding Frenzy yeah and the green bird yeah and the yellow bird yeah thumbs up how many birds do you see one 2 three [Music] [Music] oh wow little pink yeah little white Gator is it like alino I guess so got no pigment say hi bir [Music] that's scary that looks really really tough for him that shows pretty heavy I [Music] bet he's coming right for you look at coming right for you doesn't one of those backpack leashes Rob is like against the backpack leash but when you have a toddler who runs you know I used to judge him when I didn't have kids but now I see the moms I'm like yeah I'm in the same boat and I want to get one of those backpack leashes so that he could he's pretty good I mean pretty but not really fully good yet for the amount of experience that he has in doing this kind of thing I give him all the leeway he gets you want to go him run around in there get wet I don't want to get him wet you want to get him wet whatever if he ain't focused on it I'm not bothering with him I'm actually surprised that he's not focused on that splashing over there [Music] okay sit yeah go sit W you're riding them say hi I think we could both agree that that was surprisingly more entertaining than I thought it was going to be I didn't think I was going to have to come back anytime soon to do a zipline or a monster truck or feed alligators or do any of the other extracurricular outside of looking at the animals thing so we will definitely be back to do that obviously we have him here and we do live in Central Florida so now that this is on the list of things to do and we have seen it it will be in the Forefront of the things that I kind of want to do here and and and and check out I really want to check out more things here in Central Florida like I said I've lived here for quite a while and I have not got to do anything really outside of Disney and a little bit of universal and obviously dinosaur world so yeah so did you have a good time yeah I I really enjoyed it I think it's like a fun little spot to come you know they have obviously all the things that we had showed there food there's ice cream stands there's a bunch of like little like refreshment stands that you can you know get yourself some something to drink something to eat um it's definitely a nice little Park I like it a lot very cool well put together he had a great time that's really all that counts so we're going to see you at the next place that we go to next spot essentially peace peace
