up ahead and he's making this and so obviously i'm lying and we're still in rio and we're in a place called parky lager which is this beautiful rain forest and a art school which is really picturesque and inside the art school is a cafe that you guys might recognize from many different music videos this is a place that i was told is the best place to explore on a rainy day so the rain is a bit of a buzz kill but we are super excited to explore parque lager with a very special guest named alina mccloud now i think alina and ivana are in here which is believe it or not uh an aquarium in here yeah i saw beer on you brought in here yeah piranha oh i was right there were piranhas anacondas up ahead so this is something very interesting i'm a little bit scared oh so cool this is a papaterra you said there's piranhas in here yeah over on the other side wow so cool so cool and so our special guest today guys is alina macleod who is born and raised in paradise oh my gosh piranha yeah there's no one there i'm scared i'm scared there she is canister saskatchewan's finest that's right that's right so excited i don't want to offend the other 799 people there but thank you thank you great place to visit so guys if you've never heard of canisino don't be ashamed because until i met alina neither have i yeah that's fair and so we are super excited to talk to alina today uh imagine meeting someone from a place population 800. canadian small town meeting them in brazil yeah yeah so we'll explore parking lot together and uh hopefully learn more about small town canada super excited all right let's go awesome uh i think this is an opportunity for someone to yell echo echo not really good steven and so we're joined today by elena and her mother be careful here yes and so big shout out to mothers worldwide yes i really feel like i'm meeting the whole family it's a family affair today it's awesome this is really cool this is nice right this is like uh a little amazon adventure and we are more or less at the foot of christ the redeemer so right in rio you can't hear any cars or anything and kind of the rain makes it a little better almost the slight rain is like super amazon rainforesty oh it's so cool with the vines everywhere wow oh yeah i think there is a path in there yo parque lager not to be missed we've been here for half an hour i love this place already yeah look at all the jackfruit trees wow yeah jackfruit everywhere just great check this out guys it's like a little baby bath right there then you could fill it with water and bath your baby in a tree root really spectacular tree boots just awesome and so guys please stay tuned to this video oh check it out jet fruit uh maybe good to eat oh my gosh it's a big one wow i think it's young because it's only only yellow not green that's crazy uh yeah i think it just fell how spiky is he uh quite spiky oh yeah i feel like if this fell from that height uh it wouldn't be good it wouldn't be good on the shoulder or on the head no no no hey we'll see if we can find a jackfruit today if you find one and eat it on the floor ifana you're gonna prove your indonesian uh tropical nature and so guys please stay tuned to this video we are gonna have a small interview with elena she's got really good videos on her channel about small town canada i can tell you that the first 27 years of my life i lived in canada but since i discovered alina's channel i have learned more about canada than even i could imagine really nice and really popular videos so uh please stay tuned maybe we'll go sit at the cafe later and talk to elena what's this this is like uh oh bananas look at the inside of these things so cool right that looks so weird and all the water poured out when you tipped it it was so cool they're all full of water yeah interesting so cool you don't see this in canada for sure absolutely you'll see pine trees and you'll see maple trees and you'll see mosquitoes a lot of these trees i can't even tell what's a tree branch and what's a root or a vine there's just like organic matter hanging really mesmerizing and beautiful uh what's happening here you guys are awesome it's very rubbery a piece broke off and it's like it's soft and like a during you oh i broke it again but yeah oh it's it stretches yeah well i mean like i don't know it's just different it doesn't feel like a regular tree stuff yeah i don't know what it is it's sort of bouncy why does it hang off like this what is it exactly why is it so interesting awesome anyway i think we can go maybe for a coffee or a drink in here let's do it and we can talk about canister no saskatchewan yeah i'm super excited for this absolutely if you think this is great because you've never been where you've been born uh like just outside of toronto so the big city so i've been loving alina's videos learning a lot about my own country yes i love the one from hafer saskatchewan where you see the sign hafford fine foods it's like the grocery store one grocery store and you met some interesting people your dad's friend is uh playing guitar clarence the song was about obviously going down south where the weather is well armature i was so amazed with this video glad for alina when we came and live in kenist you know i could could find a private music lesson piano for alina you know i wanted here oh yeah basically like everybody in the small town has their like little side gigs or whatever so like your kids are raised by a community kind of thing so it's very sweet it's very sounds romantic in my head it's very it's really nice saskatchewan out here in rio de janeiro it's it's unbelievable basically the same day yeah more or less maybe less oh wow guys i will say this place is beautiful i just want you to know you're my favorite park so what a nice place to have a coffee and obviously the song i'm singing is beautiful by snoop dogg and pharrell because they filmed it at least part of it the music video here it's an art museum all around here as well as cafe can't beat it cappuccino don't mind if i do oh we got it although i think alina won with uh best order absolutely i can't remember the last time i had like an apple tart with ice cream i feel like in south america that's not as common i have a dish to have on america right looks really good north america or i guess europe too likes apple dessert yeah right rhubarb pie very canadian rhubarb strawberry rhubarb pie very canadian and so i'm looking forward to talking to you about conditional but i will let you eat first because it might be an hour might be an hour long by the way we're inside a former mansion that is turned into an art school and now they have a cafe inside so it's kind of cool it's really cool when we're just at the foot of the christ of the redemption yeah super awesome all right all right so we finished our food and we've actually journeyed up top and now we're sort of on top of the cafe and we've learned that this place was actually a house or i should say mansion rather that was built in the 1920s by a guy whose last name was lager so parque lager is named after henrique lager who was living here in the 20s with his wife who was a singer and i just feel like the parties he probably had here give me vibes of something like the great gatsby with obviously a brazilian so some sort of black tie very fancy people probably some three-piece band live music playing samba i mean really really great but let's get to the main event of the video which is speaking with none other than world famous youtube travel vlogger herself alina mcleod so you've been in brazil let's say five or seven days almost two weeks almost two weeks okay so first impressions of brazil first impressions of rio well i mean rio was a dream city for me you know just like the landscape the beaches uh just the nature in this area like i knew it was going to be epic and it has definitely lived up to the expectations like it is just beautiful yeah absolutely yeah and you've been on the road for the better part of three years yeah i mean i started my channel like six seven years ago but it's been like a full-time job and traveling for about three so um when i first started it was like the end of 2019 so literally after i got back from my first trip covet hit so i did have to take a break i stayed in canada for about five months but ever since i've basically been on the road fair enough so obvious question yeah sort of uh favorite place or at least a memory that stands out some sort of experience that you loved from full-time travel sure yeah well i mean my first like official full-time trip the trans-siberian express across russia that was an experience you know to be on a train for that long and i have like russian heritage i was born in ukraine but have russian heritage so it was cool to kind of go to some of the places where i know my family lived in the country and like really experienced the culture for like three months so that was really nice yeah and all of that would be posted on your youtube channel people can check it out yeah and i will say the videos you've got of small town subscribers yes i mean that's really definitely oh my gosh i'm ashamed to admit i learned so much about canada from your channel i thought canada was like the big city you know it's like highways and gas stations yeah some of your videos uh visit one day absolutely i'm excited to visit canisteno yes uh you've got a video it's got nearly 400 000 views and the city you're in city the place you're in is got 400 people population it's a thousand views per resident it's really superlative vlogging i can't recommend it enough just great yeah and so uh with that i guess maybe now we can go to the uh botanical garden which is just nearby and continue our journey through the majority has lots of greenery i'm surprised i mean you can kind of see it from the hill when we went to like crest the redeemer of sugar mountain you can see all the greeneries but being inside the forest itself is kind of cool and i think we explored about two percent of parkland it's huge so we kept it pretty tame it's covered by clouds right now but that's where the cries of everything would be on top of that hill if you don't like the weather in rio wait six minutes exactly it changes all the time all right let's go botanical garden let's do it boom welcome to the botanical garden some turtles everybody noticed at the same time so nice so i think the botanical garden will be a place for wildlife spotting especially birds they've got a sign over there that has dozens and dozens of birds we can possibly see and i love these trees with the vines ah what a nice what a nice day all right so quite funny that parque lagere was free to enter and that was our idea for the main event of today and this was just an add-on although this place was uh 67 hey ice 20 bucks canadian books per person yeah yeah and it looks to be potentially more elaborate and more grand and much more to see and explore and do so let's go botanical garden yo this place is actually awesome this is like a must do in rio go to the botanical garden i think here is the uh greenhouse where they're making them larger making them bigger so they can plant them out here uh there's got to be a hundred cactus species look at the size of the cactus man how big is the house cat this is big as a house it goes on and on and on i like this one which one's that oh this is your this is your classic arizona cactus the one you see on the postcard of arizona yeah up and then a little hook on the top look how tall it is in argentina do you remember i took a picture like this oh cactus pose cactus pose i remember this dude this is uh really worth seeing it really goes on and on and on and they've got uh structures in it no wonder it costs uh 70k ice on the way in because it's really well done look at this thing dude this is right out of wow a painting this guy here gave up he's but everyone else's full enthusiasm on this planet look at this thing yo this is awesome you know mother nature is funny look how sad the street looks you know all right next stop monkey river yo se but it's oh a long fuzzy tail there's a monkey animal something there he is there he is so cute i don't know if it's a monkey or a squirrel of some sort some sort of oh look at them another one oh my gosh oh my gosh with the baby oh my gosh oh my gosh whoa with babies yo the faces actually look like a koala obviously not a koala i'm just saying it looked uh yo the botanical garden worth 67 hey ice yeah definitely we've been here for six minutes it's very fast it was very fast but it had little like maybe two or three babies like body armor like wrapped around it who's running across the ground anyone knows the name of this animal is it a monkey i don't think it's a monkey it's a monkey came out of here so i don't know shake the bamboo yo these lily pads are as big as a kiddie pool almost as big as a mattress man yo this is the place to do a live stream ivana oh man you really if you're into photography literally anywhere you point the camera is beautiful just great and this place is huge it goes on and on and on and it's meticulously maintained holy jumping uh this might be the best kept secret in real life everyone's talking about the beaches dude the botanical garden is a must-see well no don't forget your little mound do it but also do this but i know what you mean i know what you know what you mean wow this is really something how big this flower is it's called turkey throat look at this it sort of looks like a halloween decoration like a ghost you know like a scary thing dangling dude it's called the turkey throat so big they said it's not poisonous we just met some friendly tourists who knows all about this flower yeah yeah it's huge and there's more of them and they almost look like some sort of cabbage or something look at this dude shout out to mother nature turkey throat yeah you got it oh there's a good one alina holy jumping look how small my hand looks back has got a green bulb yeah like a pocket for water pocket or something super nice cool even the color is interesting it's really special looking yeah wow beautiful wow check it out guys what a place to walk with the line of palm trees on each side and there's a fountain in the distance i will say the best kept secret of real the botanical garden and the best kept secret of youtube alina mccloud's channel oh thank you although not exactly a secret i guess 150 000 subscribers and counting but please guys go check out elena's channel uh beside alina you'll see a video which video should we put halfwood of course yes
