Welcome to Velana International Airport, the main international airport of the Maldives A Cheval Blanc host assists guests with the check-in at the airport counters to secure seaplane boarding passes Once checked in for the seaplane flight, the resort staff transfers guests to the seaplane terminal The drive to the seaplane terminal - on the other side of the airport’s perimeter - takes only 5 minutes At the seaplane terminal, Cheval Blanc Randheli operates its own lounge, where guests can wait for the flight to the resort A variety of high-end fragrances are on display at the lounge’s entrance, including from Dior and Guerlain The stylish lounge features several sitting areas, privacy rooms for VIP guests, and a play room for children The lounge’s interior matches the design of the main resort, reflecting a distinctly French interpretation of tropical living Showers are available to refresh a little An extensive menu offers complimentary snacks & beverages The lounge features a large outdoor terrace, with views of the seaplane docks (world's largest seaplane terminal) Cheval Blanc has its own seaplane to transfer guests between the airport and the resort The Cheval Blanc seaplane has only has 8 seats (for comparison, a regular seaplane features 16 seats) Aboard the plane, leather interiors welcome passengers Each guests receives a cooling kit, which includes a towel, ear plugs and a bottle of ‘Island Chic’ scented water We're leaving the seaplane dock (local time: 11 am) Flight time from Male to Cheval Blanc is 40 minutes We get some views of Male after takeoff, which is one of the most densely populated cities in the world The 40 min voyage is a breathtaking journey as it offers some of the most incredible panoramas in the world The seaplane has a crew of two pilots, both of them wearing shorts and operating the plane barefoot Cheval Blanc Randheli Maldives comes into view The resort staff is welcoming us From the seaplane dock, guests are escorted to their buggy while they get their first impressions of the resort This pavilion houses Deelani, the resort’s Italian restaurant (I’ll have dinner here later in this video) Cheval Blanc Randheli Maldives features a stunning lagoon The emblem of the resort is “Arch”, a monumental sculpture rising from the lagoon Upon arrival, guests are taken to their villa by golf cart Each guest is appointed a Majordome (French word for butler) Cheval Blanc Randheli Maldives is spread across six islands The main island features 16 beach villas, most of the restaurants, the gym, the pool, and the kids club Two smaller islands feature 29 villas and are connected to the main island by bridge The other three islands are only accessible by boat and house the spa, a private residence and tennis courts Cheval Blanc Randheli features 46 ultra-luxe villas, which are placed between the lush greenery and the crystal-clear lagoon During my holiday, I stayed in this fabulous one-bedroom villa The villa’s interior features a large living room, spacious bedroom, double dressing room and an open-plan bathroom An incredible display of welcome snacks is waiting in the villa The villa is perched on stilts on the island’s sunset side and presides over stunning views of the magnificent lagoon A collection of contemporary artworks by Vincent Beaurin complements the design of the villa Monumental wooden pivoting doors can separate or connect the villa's living and sleeping areas according to guests’ desires Behind the bathroom is a huge closet area The bathroom is equipped with his & hers vanities, a standalone bathtub, and indoor & outdoor showers Large glass doors on both sides of the villa open fully onto the idyllic landscape or can be closed to create a cosy atmosphere A large terrace boasts a 12.5 m (41 ft) long swimming pool, a pergola (for dining facing the ocean ) & an overwater sun deck Have you ever stayed at Cheval Blanc Randheli?
