We woke up this morning we looked at the weather looked at the short-term forecast for the coast um around Trogir Split area and was looking pretty good so we decided to take a little last-minute trip to the coast so we packed our car super quickly this morning and we decided to use this last day of summer actually and maybe do some boating trips. Yep. We’re going to play by ear we don't have anything planned we like just booked an airbnb last minute for Trogir and we're kind of just going to wing it, and go from there. So we have two nights booked in Trogir, after that nothing. It's okay, we like adventure and we like kind of last minute planning so off we go! So just a quick note for some reason throughout this video i just kept saying the city of Trogir as Trogir, and i don't know why i was saying that because i usually always try to pronounce all the Croatian cities and places as they're meant to be pronounced in Croatian, and i really do my best to pronounce them correctly but for some reason on this trip i just kept saying trogir trogir trogir, my apologies to the people of Trogir i didn't mean to mispronounce your city, i didn't even realize i was doing it until i came back to edit this video. Let me hear are you guys ready for a fun trip? yeah all right we're all ready for a fun trip and i see a tunnel coming up ahead! i just wanted to point out that it's the end of september and so this kind of um time of year is great to travel in croatia it's just not nearly as busy as it is during the higher summer months so as you can see in this parking lot here where we're stopping right along the highway to get to the coast we're one of the only cars here and again it's beautiful weather um end of september so i just think that this is a great time to travel here back up the road just arrived at our airbnb now, a lot later than expected um but here we are for the night so we're gonna unpack um grab something to eat quickly and just call it an early night and get ready for exploring tomorrow. we are now driving to the marina and we're gonna go meet our skipper marin and his wife nikolina. we've been working

with martin for years and our guests have enjoyed many many trips on the water with him, so he's going to take us out for the day. beautiful day, beautiful. i would say it will be like high 20s probably.

summer day, summer day. totally. our first stop is a little town of milna on brac island where we're going to meet a local olive oil and wine producer right here in town and we're going to get to sample some of his delicious products too then we tried some of the most incredible pure delicious olive oil that Josip produces. the whole island of brac is actually known for its olives and olive oil so we were happy to get to try some true local products our second stop is palmizana which is just here on the pakleni islands. we're

going to take a nice swim in this quiet little cove and make the best of this beautiful warm sunny weather. the pakleni islands make up the beautiful archipelago just off the coast of hvar. there are plenty of little inlets and coves to explore and you can get here by boat, taxi boat, or even kayak from Hvar town if you're up for a little adventure. super super super soft sand as soon as you go in like three meters, it's beautiful here. loving this beach time and can't wait to just get under! so we just took a nice dip in this beautiful sea here at palmizana um and we're refreshed and we're ready to continue on our day but this is just one of the most beautiful beaches and we really had a lovely little shop here huh was it great guys? yeah was it nice and refreshing! we're now approaching hvar so beautiful look at this spectacular view! we just arrived now in hvar and we're gonna go find a spot to grab some lunch um first impressions though are beautiful this is such an amazing little place. this is the main square here in hvar town it's called saint stephen square and it's actually the largest square in all of dalmatia and it's absolutely gorgeous here.

we just sat down at this restaurant called spice in and we are going to have a lovely little lunch together with everybody dobar tek svima dobar tek go boat just puts her to sleep okay so we just got back to the marina here in trogir, we had a really long day it's already night time right Sophie? did you guys have a fun day today yes huh yeah was it fine oh are you giving mommy the dinosaur hat? thank you. did you guys have fun today? i'm happy! yeah? are you so happy? yeah oh good your favorite part was what? mine was swimming. swimming and i think just when we got ice cream oh good and mine was ice cream, and swimming and boating. so we're done our day and we just wanted to say thank you guys for such an amazing day it was so fun on the water and you guys were the best skippers, hosts and everything. thank you guys. thank you! uh this is also another skipper that takes a lot of our guests around so if you book a tour with us maybe you’ll get marko as your skipper. nikolina was amazing, our kids just fell in love with her and they became best friends by the end of the day she was so great.

just arrived in uh trogir and we're gonna go do a little walk around. later on after this we're gonna catch the ferry over to hvar so we're not gonna stay too long in trogir, but it's a very beautiful little island city as you can see here we parked kind of across the way behind us here are the land gates to trogir and they were the main entrance to the old town uh in the 15th century it's called kopnena vrata. the drawbridge that used to be here was a big part of the venetian defenses along with the city walls that were built around the same time so that really protected the city from any unwelcome visitors. which one do you like baby i like the most that one okay so here we're at the trogir cathedral which is also known as the cathedral of st lawrence. the building actually started in 1193 but it wasn't actually finished until 1500. inside

there's also the bell tower that you can climb that's 47 meters tall and was built in the 14th century so um i'm gonna go climb that in a few minutes and just get you all some stunning stunning views from up there. uh one really incredible feature here is this beautifully carved door behind me it was carved in 1240 by master radovan and it is just an incredible incredible piece of architecture here inside the cathedral. so these are the doors to get inside. i am now climbing up to the top of the bell tower here. a very tiny narrow stairs i don't know how anyone would pass if they're coming down, but it's quite tall. looks

like we're coming to some kind of a landing, okay here we go the second portion of the climb now up to the top. a little bit of a traffic jam it's a very very tight squeeze getting up here, this last section so you have to kind of go backwards when you go back down. the views are really really worth it it's gorgeous up here here we're on the square in trogir, the main square st john paul II and um this square is home to probably one of the most famous landmarks in trogir which is a stunning clock tower behind me uh and the city loggia beside it. the clock tower is most famous for the clock's blue face and also the domed roof. the clock tower was actually a part

of the chapel of st sebastian in the past and so they took the domed roof and put it on the beautiful clock tower here behind me. you got my book? this is probably my favorite part about trogir is this incredibly beautiful promenade here, the riva that lines the sea i just love this about so many of the coastal cities they have this beautiful beautiful waterfront area just lined with cafes, the atmosphere is great, and it's just stunningly beautiful here. sophia just really felt the need to get some creativity out of her so she decided to stop and do a little drawing here. what are you drawing? oh are you drawing a nice little dot? yeah nice um okay so we're just walking towards the kamerlengo castle here and i'm really excited because every time we're here it's always closed for some reason.

well it's close because we come more in the off season usually, so i'm super excited that it's open and we can finally climb to the top after years literally years of coming here and not being open. you want to go with mommy to the top? okay do you think you can climb all up here? mommy's so proud of you! it was a really big climb. thank you. you did great. what do you think about the view up here? wow it's beautiful! i was kind of scared because it was super steep but we made it up here to the top of this fortress and it started to rain um we didn't expect that so we're gonna get a little bit wet up here but that's okay we don't care, it can rain on us and we're just gonna enjoy the views still, right? yeah it's very very very very rainy now so we are going to go find daddy and mate and sophie at the cafe here and try to take cover because it's really coming down now, isn't it? really coming down. We got rained out of trogir so we're having a pizza party in the car right guys? yes yes pizza party pizza party. didn't expect the amount of rain that just came so we're gonna pack it up for now in trogir and then we're gonna head to hvar on the ferry be careful it's crazy outside
