Awareness Webinar on Well-Being Tourism
Local tourism promote education Screen. Okay, your screen is sharing. Great. So, let me start by saying, well, thank you very much and I'm a great admirer of Mark Joffrey. I think he he he's got it right. Uh not only just in
tourism, well-being wellness tourism in general, all the things that he's working on and the more I hear about him, what he, the initiatives that he has taken. He is amazing personality. I think this is a great job. Tourism is definitely a very positive thing. Ah of course we have to realise it. The tourism is not
the primary need of the world. This is the secondary need. Once your primary needs are met, then you go to the next level and go for tourism. The
good part is the world itself has moved away from the primary needs. Nineteen sixty, 38 percent of world population was poor. So, there was no for tourism for them. In at the turn of the century, that shrank from 38% to 18%. And in 2013, that number was 13 percent. There's a debate going on right now that we have elevated poverty from the world. What that means is, the
tourism in itself is going to grow when people are more affluent. That's one part, and the good thing is, COVID in as a bad thing for the world. But what it did was it's going to accelerate the tourism. And
Pakistan is positioned very well to take the most out of the situation. Now that said ah I have been in Pakistan for about last 13, 14 weeks. And I can give you my personal example. I had some serious apprehensions coming to Pakistan. KO, I will get the
the mosquito bites and I'll have the and then I will have stomach. I will have this, that or the other. I can tell you half of my suitcase was filled with medications when I came here. I get the shots and and I was almost to the point of paranoid. My still friends from
a state still called me and say, hey, are you okay? Are you living? Are you alive? Are you going to die? So, I think there is a perception out there. that healthcare is a problem when you go to Pakistan or any for that matter and in third world country. So, it's I'm going to diverse from this point to what I am working on real quick. As an easy Shifa is a telehealth program that we have launched. And what we are trying to do is we are trying to make ah primary healthcare affordable and accessible to people those who cannot afford it. And we
are on a mission to streamline ah healthcare in Pakistan. It's a it's a big problem at least for 60, 70 percent of the population in Pakistan. We cannot blame them. Get there going to the quacks and everything else. Ah but reality is that we have not been able to give them access to healthcare so they can service it properly. According to the World Bank, 150 million people are are affected by that. So we
are on a mission. What we have done is we have created a kiosk. Very simple device that we want to install at different places. And instead of people coming to healthcare services we are taking healthcare services to them. And that's the whole concept. And and we that ah this is going to solve the problem if we can install 40, 000 of these between I mean anywhere from 40, 000 to 50, 000 of these across the country. We would be able to
solve the problem at pretty much for the nation. And actually this is not a Pakistan problem. This is a humanitarian problem. So so we are working on solving that problem. Of
course there are there are more details of that if you if you want I can I can go through that. What I wanted go into is, it's a complete system. We have the labs, we have the pharmacies, we have the ambulances, we have the nursing home, we have alternate medications, the blood donations, all of that is embedded into the whole system. So, once it's all said and done, we will have a comprehensive prime, not only primary health care, but the healthcare system, that's going to be available. Now, of
course, using the technology, because that brings all the answers, we have the embedded in it. We have the ultrasound. We have the digital stethoscope, contactless, vitals, the whole nine yards. And my vision is to add all the non-invasive diagnostics into the system. I mean And that's what, that's how we are going to disrupt the whole thing. Now, that's it. We have another vertical that's very very important, equally important.
And we, and I just named it recently, we call it the easy Shifas Jelani. Because of the tourism, and what we are offering here, is there are two parts in it. One is, when you offer somebody a package, you can sell, sell them a, primary healthcare package with, with the tourism package. So now, if
I, if I get sign a package that I'm going to Pakistan and I'm going to go to the northern part, and somebody tells me, hey, you are covered from your for your primary services and any of their services that you need, you will be taken care of. That will take a huge burden of me. And I will be more than happy to come to Pakistan with little more relax. And, and I tell you,
there are lots and lots of Pakistanis, not only in the states, across the world, they would be very pleased to have this type of service, and they would mind paying a little bit for that money. That, that service. We are offering it in two phases. One is a basic kiosk that will be installed at your base. So if you go stop at a PTDC ah ah rest house that ah location will have a kiosk.
That means now whenever you get sick or you have some condition you can access the doctor right away at that facility. The second part is when you sign the package you download our app and whenever there is a condition or you need to see somebody or you need a consultation. You just hit the app and you have access to the to the doctor. Once you talk
the doctor, the doctor can, can guide you what, what the problem is and try to diagnose it, and then take you, if you need to go to the emergency room, go to the pharmacy, or you need any other services, our system should be able to hook you up with the right facility, and get you there without, without panicking. I think and the revenue model that what we have is ah it's very simple. Any tourism tourism company all they have to do is just sign up. And when there is a need is a Shifab will step in and take care of the service that they need. And it's it's pretty straightforward. There is there is nothing in it. Somehow I'm
getting some blinds on my. So this is a simple package that we have. Ah but I I'm a firm believer that timing this service cannot be any better than today. It's just almost a
perfect storm. The people are, are, are itching to travel? Every tourism industry across this, the not only in the states, but across the world, is growing in double digits, which despite ah, despite of COVID, And this is going to keep growing. And, and when that happens, and you come up with a solution, something like this, that would just enhance the whole experience. I'll be
more than happy to answer any questions you may have thank you so much sir. I think ah but implement so trainings ah setup medical doctor required trainer ah run so go training very encouraging for us. Uh and and I'm I'm actually humbled by by the experience that I have received. Uh I think somebody else made a comment earlier. Okay, the people of Pakistan, they're extremely, extremely generous. And their hospitality
is amazing. In in last 12, 13, 14 weeks, I can cite you 15 examples. When strangers have walked up to me and offered me services that I was not expecting at all. And and I'm a walking testimony of that, that people are, are great. This is
a great opportunity. Uh, Ikra, back to your question. Uh, who is going to operate the, the kiosk? By design, we are designing the chaos in such a way the operators, skill sets are minimum. And there are two reasons for that. I personally
would like the girls in the villages and outskirts to own and operate the kiosk. One is ah girls normally don't get opportunities to go on their own businesses. This is an opportunity to empower them. That's number one. Number two. 50percent of the population in Pakistan. females. When they have and issues, they don't go to the doctors because the the guy on the other hand is a man.
And if they are not comfortable having those conversations. So, once we put a woman there and our physician is a female, then those women will have access to primary health care. So, it's very important for us to keep the bar for the operator as low as possible. Let the technology do the work. So, we can empower
women and give access to healthcare to females. I hope and and we can train the person in about three to 4 days. There is no deep technical knowledge that is needed. We, the system
or the technology takes care of that part. Okay, thank you so much sir. For your presence and presentation or we will work with, work together or to sports facilities or promote or ah help out easy ways medical well being thank you so much sir. Thank I would Ipal who is a CEO of class career or students senior executives ah companies, employees hormone box culture around you. That is where the whole thing lies.
