#132 Don't Mind Shovelling
Picked up a new trailer this weekend. As well as the tow hook for the Land Rover But I have to upgrade my wrenches to work on the car. I don't have the size. This one can carry three times the amount I was able to carry with the small trailer. The double axle, not a tipper.
Because they're quite a bit heavier. Higher as well. And, I don't mind shoveling, and this is not my my business, you know, so I don't have to use this on a day to day basis. Now I need it a bit more because there's a lot of concrete work sand.
But when that is finished, it's all right. I don't mind shoveling. Shoveling is kind of a good exercise to keep you going. It's kind of like a five mile run, to shovel one trailer of sand So I don’t mind doing that We got it as a challenge Yeah, no, it’s good. I think here we’ll take off the top layer as well, because I want to put stone here Just making a drawing for the guys to explain what we're doing.
We're digging a sort of a drainage channel. So we don't have the problem with last week when there was a lot of rain and you got puddles and stuff, Very muddy situation. That should prevent it. So we're digging a wide trench here. So it's sloping down to the middle. And, I'm going to fill this up with coarse gravel, the top layer.
or actually no, the lower layer. And then the top layer is going to be a thinner gravel or the gravel that I'm using for the driver, which is a mix of sharp gravel, sand and dust because that really packs well together. And then also in combination with some flagstones where you can walk on, just here. But I'm wondering if that compacts nicely and sits well within the gravel.
It might move a little bit, but I think if it's sharp gravel it should be fine. So when it rains here, it all goes through the middle and it drains away from the buildings like downhill. Same for the water that comes in here. This stairs is going to be rebuilt in between the cabins later. And I'll build it in a way so that naturally, the water always will be in the middle of the stairs instead of draining down here in the middle of the buildings. It's actually helpful that the water has been pretty bad.
