we’ve arrived in Busan! we’ll be here for the next 4 days travelling almost cherry blossom season but not quite first we’re getting some lunch I got the chicken curry soup we just had a early morning flight from Jeju so desperately need this coffee a latte to go headed to our first location the cherry blossoms are about a week late this year we’re at the famous Haedong Yonggungsa Temple this temple is well known because it’s rare find of a temple along the shore it is a bit touristy but I think it’s worth a visit for the unique view just in ime to see the lanterns for Buddha’s birthday the view at night would be spectacular all the details in the design are amazing and the view from the top you can see these statues scattered around the whole temple the sky suddenly cleared up at the end everything looks better in the sun hope the weather stays like this for the rest of the trip dinner is bbq Busan has some interesting sauces and side dishes the staff was serious about the meat and cooked everything for us to perfection ending with some pork skin it’s so chewy and crispy so happy the weather is clear today we’re off to see the famous sky capsules appreciating the little bit of spring the capsule trains run from 2 locations Cheongsapo and Mipo station, I’m starting from Cheongsapo station I wanted to see the shoreline here while the weather is still good you can see the train pass here every 30 mins you can buy the tickets at the station here but I suggest buying them online because I got the last ones available at 2:30 but that gave me just enough time to look around and enjoy a bit of the seaside the sea breeze is so refreshing here time for a quick lunch so I’m getting some eomuk (fishcake) and couldn’t say no to hotteok the fishcake and soup are usually self serve so sweet and crispy I just love seaside towns there’s always something so cosy about them so picturesque drying seaweed time for a little pick me up this cafe had one of the best views I’ve been really into green tea lattes recently so refreshing perfect place to relax and recharge my energy levels are back up and just in time for the capsule train the little trains are actually so cute and it goes right along the shoreline so you can enjoy this amazing view the whole ride was about 25 mins, so you have pleanty of time to enjoy and you get off right near Haeundae beach a trip to Busan wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the beach unfortunately the weather took a turn, so it was a bit cold but still warm enough to dip your feet in the water heading back to the hotel before the weather gets worse it started to pour in the evening headed out for a quick dinner on a cold rainy night samgyetang is the best looks so good! samgyetang usually comes with this ginseng wine you can drink it but it’s usually to put in the soup the meat literally just falls off the bone and the best part is the sticky rice inside would recommend the pancake as well today were headed to my more anticipated location on this trip this place had been on my bucket list for the longest time it’s the famous Gamcheon Culture Village! it was honestly a bit of a maze and a climb to find the village there also seems to be a local bus that I didn’ know about so I guess if you want to avoid the climb you can take the bus but the murals and streets along the way is worth the climb loved these little ceramic houses I think each of them represents a house in the village the little alleyways and streets were so cute taking a few detours and we’re finally here the villiage is formed by these colourful houses built on this foothill through the little alleyways you can see murals and sculptures created by the residents and local artists you can espcially see a lot of motifs for the little prince which is one of my favorite childhood books he sits on top of the hill with this view of the houses and mountians there is a line to take a photo with him and it took about 20-30 mins but there are also other fun photo spots around the village time to head for some lunch this was the only cafe/ brunch place we could find in the village we got the breakfast set I choose the falafel plate on the other side of the village you can see a better view love all the birghtly coloured houses you can see the little prince from the other side can’t get enough of this view time for a little break found this cute tea shop the shop had this amazing view and the owner teaches you about tea ceremony and how to prepare tea the tea set also come with some traditional sweets the shop is so cosy I could stay here for hours found this cute characterchure place there are so many local artist and handicaft shops in the village my friend and I got our characterchures done time to head back down dinner is at Chinatown this was one of the highest ranked dumpling places everything was so good it’s a very rainy day in Busan so we’ve changed our plans to have a chill day starting off with coffee and brunch I got shakshuka and a latte we’ll be checking out a few museums today it’s meant to rain all day today there were some interesting exhibitions going on this one was very interactive off to our second exhibition another good place to escape the rain is the shopping mall this one had a famous spa/ sauna inside if you go to a Korean sauna, you need to get the rice punch (sikhye) the spa had a outdoor footbath and lots of different sauna rooms and a ramen corner you can add any topping you like and cook it yourself going to eat my ramen and enjoy a bath after maybe the best way to spend a rainy day goodbye Busan see you guys back in Seoul!
