oh dear oh you know there's no warning with me you just go live [Laughter] hi everybody we are live and we're both just trying to get this on our phones right i've got it on my phone now um so we can see the chat so i've got the chat on my phone down here emma and i are both live in the solepreneur high of mine facebook group so hello good morning everybody um if you just caught lucien shakira's um mindset march session she actually mentioned you emma she mentioned that she'd watched your session on going fear words um it was really interesting her session was really good she's she's a really um powerful coach and mentor actually so if you haven't watched that head back and watch it and obviously emma you did your talk a few days ago as well ongoing fear woods um so yeah there's loads of great stuff that's been going on in mindset march i hope you guys have been enjoying it as you come in live and please write a comment let us know you're there i do have the comments on my phone um so i can see comments coming through and i can see who you are as well so today is all about strength based business growth which let me tell you if you don't know anything about and you haven't actually kind of done any work on this in your business this is going to be transformative for you because it really was transformative for me and it made me look and look at things and think about things in a whole different way so um at the end of this session i can see that olivia's here hi olivia i'm at the end of this session i'm going to be making a very very special announcement and giving you an opportunity to have a strengths-based deep dive with emma as well so stay watching till the very end so let's start off with my interpretation of what strength-based business growth is and feel free obviously to hop in any time so to me strength-based business growth is really when you become uber aware of your own strengths and you actually harness them in your business and by what i mean by that is you actually first of all you pick the tools tactics and strategies that align most closely with what you're already good at you don't force yourself to do the that you hate that makes you feel super freaking awkward and uncomfortable um and you learn how to modify and tweak strategies and tools so that you can harness them in a more powerful way leaning on your innate strengths that you've got is that is that your interpretation of it as well yes in a nutshell absolutely i think you've hit the nail on the head and i think what it provides an answer to is there's a number of problems that are rife within this this sort of entrepreneurial and particularly online business world space that i think we all come up against so um for some of us it's the problem of wanting more ease and flow and finding things hard and hustly so i think that's a big one which speaks to what you were saying about how do you get things to align better so it feels more natural it feels more authentically you and so that's a that's a big problem um and i think there's a number of other sort of problems as well that it really helps to overcome around you know this comparison to others um that we experience so a lot of mindset challenges that go on that um stop us from making the progress that we want um and that's another big kind of yeah area i'll pause there because i think you might want to say something i haven't thought of it that way actually you know what emma every time i talk to you little light bulbs are popping off over my head and i've talked to you a lot so that says a lot about you um i haven't really thought of it in the comparisonitis sense before i really focus in on vision work and and making it very clear what you don't want for your business as well as what you do want because i think knowing what you don't want can help put that comparison items to bed but actually this is also another way of putting it to bed like you say because when you see someone else doing something and you know okay that works for them because obviously that's playing to their strengths and that's who they are i know that doesn't work for me that's why i'm not doing it that bright shiny object syndrome that thing where we feel oh my god what if she's doing it i've got to do it like that all kind of can melt away because you can logically put your mind to why you're not doing it exactly and it starts with knowledge and acceptance of who you are at a deep level and who you're not yeah and that distinction's got really blurred for most of us because of you know and i talk about this a lot the conditioning that we've had the education that we've had it's all been about rounding ourselves off and you know filling in the gaps focusing on the weaknesses that we've had um we've you know had lots of pressures potentially from other people in our life growing up you know to try and fit in or to not stand out too much not be too much you know so all of this stuff together combined you know our conditioning keeps us from the truth about ourselves very often and sometimes we've been railing against our natural ways of being for many years but when you lift the lid and understand at a deeper level how you naturally think feel and behave that and think about that as actually your unique talents then everything can open up for you in terms of ah now i see it now i see what i'm not and i also see and i you also have a different appreciation about other people because when you know that stuff about yourself like he was saying when you see that person on instagram when you see that peer of yours who suddenly accelerated beyond whose work rate is like 50 times that of you you know you can sit back and say okay you know i see that they have those things yeah i don't but i need things and i get to do it my way and as soon as we're able to accept that i think that we can move on in a much more productive way that really struck me actually i attended emma recently hosted a live master class on going forward are you hosting that again emma will you put a link to it in the comments whenever you're gonna host it again i think you're hosting it live again aren't you yeah one of the things that well lots of stuff struck me during it obviously but one of the things that really struck me was you asked people to um pick from a a page of all these different strengths like what they think their main strengths are and i don't know there was like 10 15 people on this master class or whatever and every single person had a completely different top kind of three and i thought oh my god you know often we've got this like spotlight syndrome where we think everyone is live cause everyone thinks like us everyone's doing things exactly the same way i think when you're a coach or a mentor it's even more important to be really super aware that what's the strength of yours might not be a strength for someone else and actually are kind of jobs as coaches and men oh have we got have we frozen i think we might have let's just wait and see if sally gets back on one moment yeah i think sally's frozen for me too okay so i think what sully's talking about is um really how when we are building our businesses whether we're coaches mentors whatever we are we part of part of all of that is discerning how we different like how do we coach people how do we um do things in the way that we do and so much of what we i don't know about you but i think starting out i was looking at other people and trying to describe myself in their language maybe looking at um you know how um how how could i say what they say um but make it feel more like me and so when we start from that point we're never starting from ourselves we're starting from somebody else's start point and what i've really learned from working with business owners over the last couple of years is that one of the most valuable pieces that this work can help you with is in defining how you do what you do in a completely unique way and the problem with doing this work so if you've ever worked with a business coach before and they've asked you what their strength your strengths are and you've gone through some sort of you know process to kind of think you know what makes me me how do i do what i do it's incredibly difficult now i don't know whether i can see all your comments but tell me if you find that that's something difficult and i'll just bring sally back up to speed i don't know that she's heard what i've just said um so tell me if you find that process difficult of working out who you are how you do what you do you know what's your secret sauce what's your magic because i think that's something that you know everyone says you need to have your secret sauce nailed you need to have your identity nailed you know how do you stand out and for a lot of us that feels desperately uncomfortable because one we don't really know and two the thought of standing out even though we want to stand out actually can be quite confronting and difficult and so one of the biggest things that doing this piece of strength work can help you do is to start to understand how you uniquely show up um and i'll give you a couple of examples of how this has come up in conversations i've had with business owners recently so i worked with somebody who was a phenomenal jeweler like makes um bespoke pieces and i've got them talking about their process you know what do you do tell me about that and i'd obviously got their sort of strengths profile and they had as well and as they were talking it became so clear to me that they were using their strengths to research the person for whom the piece of jewelry was for so if sally came to me and said i want this piece of jewelry for my friend like there would be this whole process of research and questioning and getting into getting underneath who's sally's friend what did she like what's what's what's she about you know what does she care about and then the piece of jewelry would reflect her like in that way like in that depth to that care and level of attention to the degree that the person would be like receiving it would be like oh my god you know now another jeweller would approach that thing in a completely different way but you know when you look at when when i looked at that process through the lens of that person's strength it was so clear to see she was like a storyteller jeweler you know and that that suddenly makes you stand out i'm not just a jeweler who makes bespoke pieces i'm a jeweler who's who tells stories through the pieces and makes them so unique that they'll just be a one-off gift you know that you're never gonna um experience anything like that and the same with a photographer i was working with um taking photographs of products you know and it what what transpired was in the process and the interaction that was happening you didn't even realize she was doing it she was not only taking photographs she was helping the person to feel more confident about marketing their product there was stuff she was doing she wasn't even like didn't really get and that's what her unique talents and strengths were enabling her to do and that's what's within all of us like like we all have those little ingredients of magic and finding them and learning how to amplify them is what this conversation is absolutely all about welcome back sally wi-fi literally went completely on its ass um and i think one of the things that people might be thinking is well if that person of those people were doing that naturally anyway like what's the benefit of actually knowing what these strengths are what's the benefit of doing this work but you kind of said that by what the benefit is is once they know that's what it actually is that sets them apart they can then incorporate that into their messaging and that adds a huge amount of perceived value to their offer because you can get jewelry made by anyone but actually if you want jewelry to be personal and reflect your identity and who you are and have real meaning you go to that person so it's actually only when you learn it's not just about learning what your strengths are so that you can harness them in a more powerful way it's also actually about communicating them to your clients because what what what attracts them to you is who you are and if you can verbalize what that is and how it can help them to the best benefit they're much more likely to actually step forward to work with you as well i think the other key comes back to that how it makes you feel inside because you're all about soul alignment and i think you feel it feels a natural conversation to have to express yourself in that way when you know it's come from within you from your within your core essence of who you are like you know when you've got a way of describing yourself and what you do that just feels so you it comes out of your mouth naturally it doesn't feel like you've got to practice it in front of the mirror for hours because it just is you it feels like you and everybody else's experience of you will match up and align to that yeah and we all know that that may that's what makes you magnetic yeah i think that's why you and i align really well and there's going to be a lot more collaboration coming everybody so just watch out um and why we work so well together is because as you know i'm all about alignment and i think and we hit upon this at the beginning of this session that in today's world online world it's so easy to believe you have to force yourself to do say and act in a certain way in order to be successful and i call complete on all of that because who we are the only people i actually work with really are i term them soulpreneurs because essentially they're people who feel very in touch with who they are if they're out of alignment they feel it it feels awkward you feel like it's hustle it's hard work you're kind of beating against the grain you're experiencing resistance and because we are these kind of sensitive beings we feel that so keenly so i meet so many people who are hustling against their own grain and nothing is working and they're like oh my god what the hell is going on here and it's because they're out of alignment with who they are in their own strengths so who this is for is anybody who for whom feeling in alignment and feeling authentic and that you are bringing your best self to your business that's who this is the most important for because that's when you're going to be at your best and that's when you're going to naturally attract aligned clients because they're going to resonate with that authentic energy i think you're so you're so right and then the other thing about it that we haven't we haven't kind of picked up on is that you know everything has its opposite doesn't it like there's always light and shade and what many of us don't actually kind of realize is that sometimes it's our natural gifts and strengths that are actually what are also tripping us up yeah you know and i use the analogy of a superhero a lot because it just works so well so you know when a superhero finds out they are uniquely gifted with a superpower they don't immediately they're not immediately proficient with it are they you know we've we've all seen the story you know the damage the untold damage that they do with their their being unleashed rampantly in the world you know and we all have things that we overdo um and for some people that can look like burnout um you know it can be overworking and taking on too much you know trying to solve like huge huge problems and too many of them you know all of those sorts of things or it can be you know not bringing others along with you enough it can be not paying attention to the emotional data or information that's around you because there can be lots of things that you know um we don't realize are blind spots for ourselves but when you understand the language of your strengths and you actually start able to kind of you know see the kind of shadow sides as well as those light sides and learn how to navigate some of those things so they don't trip you up and that's extremely practical you know because like it's okay to not be good at everything because nobody can be good at everything yeah i think that shadow side of it is something that really surprised me so i have done a clifton strength analysis and deep dive with emma this is my result um and one of the things that i loved i've gone through as you guys know how thorough i am with my highlighter i've obviously gone through and highlighted the out of basically every single thing but it's one of those things like as i was reading it i was like oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes i was like oh my god like this explains so much but the bit that you've just mentioned and a bit i really love is watch out for the blind spot so example for mine was strategic which is my number one when working with others others sometimes they may misinterpret your strong strategic talents as criticism really i've never thought of that before be mindful of what is already working well that others have accomplished yeah like i'm a bulldozer sometimes i'll just forge ahead like and i never really realized that that's actually a product of my strength but i think like this this work it's it's leaning into the good but also understanding that blind spot and actually making it work for you even better you know it's not like oh that's a blind spot so i shouldn't do that anymore it's like right how can i actually use this blind spot to improve everything i'm doing yeah absolutely and how can you use other strengths that you have that you do have to help mitigate that so you know you can start to really play around with it almost putting different hats on you know depending on what you want to lean into a little bit more to help you navigate whatever it is you've got going on and the other thing is which is why i actually chose sally as my business coach um was because we did the strengths deep dive and i was like holy cow sally's got all the things that are going to complement what i've got to help me right now move forward with my goals so i knew that yes her systems and everything else were great but as a as a person to mentor me and coach me and give me what i needed in that kind of you know the sort of more interactive relationship side of what you do you know i knew that you would help me because you you'd get me moving yeah in the way that i wanted to that's pretty interesting i don't think i knew that before and it also makes me really think that i need to be sharing my strengths literally saying you know i've done this strength analysis these are my top kind of three strengths and this is how i can use these strengths to help you i've never actually kind of said that before you know it's really it's really fun because you get to you know you can literally go through each one of them think well how does this how does this help within having a bit of a coaching session now so how does this help me like what does strategic give give me you know what does it give my clients huge amounts yeah yeah because it's a massive speed of thinking that activator is number two and futuristic is number three so i can tell you how i can tell you i can tell you like what it is and why to do it i can tell you exactly how to do it and i can tell you exactly what impact is going to have for you in like six months or whatever time yeah and i can see it all my friend just join me on the journey and what that does is because that's how you think feel and behave when you're confronted with your client with an issue or a challenge that then enables like how somebody experiences that is oh there's a really straightforward pathway through this i haven't even seen yeah oh i've got the impetus to go to get started like to actually take that action and the third thing is like oh and i can see the possibilities now i can see where this is going and so you've just demonstrated how you combine three of your kind of top things that are just uniquely you yeah you know that's what people get when they get sally now another coach would would be different because they'd have different assortment of of talent themes you know so that and to be able to just like how powerful is that just to be able to communicate that i'm wondering why i haven't communicated that before now yeah so why all this is obviously so important in terms of business is to stop the struggle to let it be easier for ourselves to stop believing there is only one way to grow a profitable business and that way is the probably more americanized dare i say it like hard sales fear and scarcity um you know putting people into lack um there's a lot of sort of tactics out there that just don't feel good for a lot of us but also more so than even the tactics you're using where you're showing up how you're showing up are you leaning into your strengths or whether it's writing or videos or there are so many ways that once you kind of understand what your strengths are you can lean into them to build a business that feels completely aligned that has that kind of ease and flow that everyone talks about because you're doing what comes naturally and the tactics you're using you're modifying and plugging into make them easier for yourself and the great thing with that is when you're in that energy the magic of aligned client attraction happens and all of a sudden the people who feel your energy and who want to be in your energy and who think oh my god this is all happening so lovely and so easy for her they're the people who will come into your space and step forward to work with you you just reminded me about the conversation we had about the manifesting power of working to your strengths because it's not so much that you know i don't think none of us got into this lark to not work like because i think we all work hard like we put effort in yeah we wouldn't you know we we would we would work 24 hours a day because we love this yeah you know but it but it's about how it feels yeah and i think um you know there's a difference between this hustle and effort yeah and where you like if you learn to place your effort in a direction that gets you results and helps you like i want to say results i mean positive outcomes like and that can be a conversation that then leads to a positive outcome or a client um call that leads to a positive outcome or or a financial result even whatever it is that you're looking to create for yourself when you direct your natural talents into that then of course you feel better you might be putting the hours in but time flies you know it's more like oh gosh i didn't realize it's this time rather than oh gosh i've still got all this to do you know there's a difference in energy and then what happens then is what i call the ripple effect because when you're operating from a space like that and you feel truly you and like you're dancing with the intune to the music well then you get all the well-being benefits as well because research into this over decades has proven that people who believe they live to their strengths have better quality of life it's a fact they've they feel less stressed and worried they um feel like they have ample energy they even laugh more and have more fun while they're doing stuff um you know and and so that is going to have a ripple effect in your entire life your relationships um just generally how you feel day to day you can't not and yeah and and certainly from my own experience tends to attract the um the kind of comments like what do you want like yeah i get that a lot actually yeah i think it's so important to um make the distinction between hustle and hard work because hustle leads to overwhelm and hard work leads to satisfaction you know what i mean like when you're hustling you know you're hustling because it feels bad man it just feels bad like everything is like wading through treacle nothing feels easy it's like oh my god this is never gonna work it's just bloody awful and hard work is like yeah i'm gonna do a blog today do a video i've got a live training i've got a live mentoring session i'm gonna do a social media post to talk about everything and then like you say like sometimes six o'clock will come around and i'm like oh my god where has the day gone and i've worked hard like i am a hard worker but what i don't want to do is hustle and what none of us should be doing is hustling because it feels freaking awful i think also there's nothing worse than being in that situation where you're like i don't understand why this isn't working for me oh it's the most painful place to be it's the most painful place to be but there's always you know what if someone is working for someone else and not working for you take a look inside of you because that's why it's not working for you because you it's not something that you should be doing and it's coming across that way like your people in your community can feel it we're all energetic beings here if you're doing something that feels wrong to you guess how it's gonna feel to me wrong am i going to buy from you then no so you know we've got to be energetically aligned with what we're doing that's how we'll attract those aligned clients but i think the thing is that people just kind of are throwing their hands up and going well how how do i know because unless i try something and and it feel like i don't that's that doesn't feel good to me didn't get me results i've put i've tried putting more into it posting more doing more of it because that's another thing that you know a lot of a lot of us when we're trying a tactic out it's like we'll do it more you know put more in you're not doing enough you know and of course it's really difficult isn't it kind of get that balance right you know you've got to give things time and try it but like however if you've got some better insight that enables you to be a bit more discerning about you know it may be that it's exactly the same steps but there's a tweak to your mindset yes that you can create yes through the lens of your own kind of unique perspective on the world that enables you to get behind it in a way that you couldn't before yeah a way that you can kind of see it in a that you couldn't before or maybe the tactic just isn't right you know i mean there's a really great example of you know some of us some of us are really built for networking i was talking with a client yesterday who she literally collects people like it became so apparent by the end of our call that she's literally the person to go to if you want to be connected with anybody for anything i wish i was more like that i have to say yeah how strong we all get though like we always got to go that's an amazing scene yeah not mine but i've got relator like i can build a relationship with her knowing that like i can go like she could be in connection with somebody she just would yeah that's why things go off like a rocket for her and her community you know so i think when you start to see that like you start to really be able to be more discerning and the decisions yeah so it helps so it helps you in terms of how do you build relationships it helps you in terms of how do you make decisions like and how do you make your best decisions how do you influence other people and bring them along with you what ways do you do that what's at your fingertips versus what isn't at your fingertips yeah and those are the those are the sort of considerations that i don't think we you know that's that's a sort of depth and nuance that most tactics and strategies don't cater for yeah and i think that's the thing if you're just trying to do it by the book that's when you're gonna struggle just if anyone's got any questions by the way i know there are quite a few people tuning in live honestly i kind of feel a bit emotional about it it sounds so stupid i don't even know if i've really told you that i feel a bit emotional about it but i feel like um i feel proud that i've come to a and it's scary to go there so much very like this this is if i was gonna say something that you know that actually speeds up and gets you gets you to your destination in more time then i would say that piece like i've known people wrestle with that and and um the people that really seem to have got it like they've spent years and years and years like piecing it together working out finding out what's wrong then getting to what's right and this absolutely cuts to the message it's like yeah i mean that's the thing and that's one of my strengths i think if you read in the strategic thing it says um you can identify generate alternatives for solving them like you can really see exactly what people need like cut the like i cut out all the fluff what's that saying um all thriller no no oh no yeah because like because i'm a very straightforward direct kind of person i just want to get to the freaking point you know what i'm saying so i'm like right we're not gonna swerve this we're gonna dive into it until it's completely explored because also as you know like methodology is one of the very early modules um after the very in-depth mindset module at the very beginning um and the reason that we have that so up front is i want you to really explore everything who you are what makes you unique your gifts your skills your expertise because that's what we're gonna base the business on you know some people start with who are your ideal clients no you've got to start with who you are because you're the one growing this business so so yeah so the fact that i can offer this that really um i think made made the difference so one actually the tactics and strategies hang together like in a system that means it's a business not a tactic or one piece of it it's actually a whole business so i don't know whether you i like i don't know whether you like even you even appreciate how unique that is i don't think you often appreciate the stuff for yourself you can see people's things but it's hard to see it in your own things i think that's why you need a coach or a mentor and the second the second is the support like there's one thing going through something is we've already allowed you to step by step you know working through it but like if you're a solopreneur and you're like in your office you know for me this room like working through things trying to kind of put it all together people around you try and understand best they can but they think you're a fruit loop for doing this and then just watch all your hard work and hope one day it's gonna pay off for you you know it's or maybe they don't even support you at all you know so this having your kind of you in the back pocket and then front and center very often as well hands-on you know there when you need it offering that like here's what you need to do like just this is this is the step you need to take next like it's invaluable um and it really does help to move you forward so that's just my two pennies there's a bit of a review there for you thanks i think that's the thing i am very directive someone said to me the other day i love the fact that your directive you tell me the step by step how to do it not just the theory and the fluff and the you know and that's the thing i'm very very directive in my support so you'll never be not sure what to do let's put it that way that'll make it abundantly clear and i think that's okay for us to be like that because most most of the people you work with are coaches and mentors and you know and actually we got into this lark to do the work with the clients you know like we have to lend expertise from elsewhere when it comes to sort of becoming a great marketer becoming a great sales person and sometimes just being told what to do is is actually kind of oh god that makes it so much easier thank you exactly and that that speaks to my mission because obviously my background is business and marketing and obviously i'm a very sort of deep spiritual and soulful person persons you're like right what is my what is my mission in the world what is my purpose in the world i want it to be like some amazing spiritual guru but actually i'm just really really good at business and marketing so what i'll do is i'll help the people who are spiritual gurus the coaches i'll help them grow their businesses and put that out into the world and that's my contribution so we can all do whatever we can and use the strengths and the experiences we have to fulfill a purpose that feels deeply meaningful and powerful to us so use what
