and we begin a very warm welcome to the distinguished attendees and everybody who's joining us either through facebook through youtube any channel and i myself anurag the academy coordinator from gsbn and i would want to first of all congratulate everyone who's present here because we are in the we are to begin a very very auspicious journey which is the first ever batch of gsbn which is again being this has been made possible only because of ssm so uh jsbm essentially is an affiliated learning center for ssm swiss school of management and we vouch and we say that we offer one of its kind of hybrid mba course to the aspirants and in our mba program we essentially have divided the entire curriculum into two parts seventy percent of which goes for online learning and thirty percent goes for international trips and uh the reason why we thought that uh such kind of a bifurcation should happen is because with the kind of pandemic scenario going around in the country in the world for that matter it's been very difficult to have classroom experience and so we thought we should also focus on online learning we should also give our attendees a taste of what it feels to have an in-body interaction a common collective learning through international trips so uh with that uh i would want to welcome our first speaker uh and uh she would be throwing more light on to uh how exactly is the entire curriculum would go and what we aspire to be so welcoming selena magnanti the vice president and partner of the swiss school of management uh serena magnanti backups the president's efforts to expand operations on a global scale and continues our academic path to reach greater heights so serena the stage is yours over to you hello everybody thank you very much mr singh for this amazing introduction so i'm very happy to have you all here today uh i am the vice president of the swiss school management and today i'm going to present you our mba program and also the stressful management as a whole as an institution what we do what we are and what we hope you will learn from us so uh just allow me to share my screen real quick and so i can start with our presentation so welcome again to this info session organized by the global school of management industry school of management we are today going through our master of business administration there we go so in this short presentation we'll go through who we are as ssm our approach to learning and also we will go to our academics and curriculum so the stress color management uh was funded in 1981 in switzerland in the canton of saint gallant by our uh president dr broccoli which by the way sends to you his warmest greetings he's traveling and he couldn't be with us today but he's with us with his heart so uh the school is driven by massimo's dr brocale's swiss ideals which are very strong such as professionalism high quality education and practicality this means that at street school management our uh first priority is to turn our students into professionals uh to deliver high quality education and to make sure that they will um achieve all their goals in the best way possible uh last but not least what we really care about is uh for students to learn practical skills which they can put to good use immediately in their working environment in their personal environment in their familiar environment so you see this is a 360 degrees approach to education uh the swisscom management in the last few years has been going through a huge expansion so if a couple of years ago we had the swiss campus and the rome campus where i am located currently we have been expanding a lot currently we are present in the united arab emirates so in dubai in bahrain in egypt with cario and also we are going to open the alexandria learning center in myanmar and also uh russia uh for those who of you don't know russia is located in italy um very close to milan milan as you all know is the uh commercial and industrial capital of italy as a country so this is a very strategic location i want to mention this because all uh the swiss school management students will have the right to travel within all the campuses and the learning centers we have in the world so this is a something that i'm sure you as a prospective students um will be interested in because we can also guarantee you the exposure and an international environment which will be very important um within uh your your education at school and management so um let's talk about the accreditations and of our mba program uh we carry very prestigious accreditations starting from uh the department of veterans affairs in the united states we have eduard which is a certification issued by the swiss government iacb which is a private american accreditation body and much more we have here the international associate association of universities we have also a protocol with the ministry of education in italy and many many more so the swiss school of management has 5 000 graduates more than five thousand graduates from all over the world uh and our alumni uh more often than not reach the sea level stages um also many many of our alumni are starting their own businesses and startups so you see this means that uh the practical skills that we teach at ssm are immediately applicable um which we very care about we really believe that that's very important to be able to spend your degree immediately just to the day uh the next day the day after you ever earned it um but by the way don't just say the word for our word for it uh we invite all uh our prospective students to connect um with our social media outlets we have youtube we have linkedin we have instagram we have facebook um on our youtube channels uh channel you will find uh many many interviews that we carried out with our alumni so that you can actually uh learn about their experience at ssm the way it changed their lives which kind of career they're pursuing after getting uh their mba degree um you know you can put yourself in the shoes of former ssm students uh which is very important in my honest opinion also uh on our linkedin profile if you go on linkedin you will find the alumni section our former students are always happy and eager to share their experience at ssm with new students so uh do not hesitate to contact them go and see uh what uh our alumni are doing currently which career they were able to land thanks to and after an ssm mba for example go ahead and drop them a message all of our alumni are always happy to answer you to answer your questions to clarify any doubts that you may have so this is our president and i i very much love this picture and this is in a nutshell uh the ssm motto so to create an innovative and intellectual environment with a focus on leadership management entrepreneurship uh which will allow you to uh gain the skills the business skills that you need in order to be a good leader a good person and a good professional in nowadays global economy so let me show you uh a little bit of something that we also do some extracurricular activities as such as for example the leadership adventure day that usually takes place during the first week of september here in the room and to which all our assistant students are invited [Music] [Applause] so [Music] there we go so as you can see uh during this day students will uh take some risks uh will uh try and overcome all the fears and will create a strong very strong bond with their master colleagues this is one of the most important days of the academic year basically and we really hope to welcome you here in the room uh and to see you participating in the next leadership adventure day something i would like to talk about now is the swiss coaching now during the last two years of pandemic uh president professor broccoli and i um realized that our students were actually struggling because you know uh they haven't been able to uh leave their house many many times to attend classes in person and you know to conduct a normal life this is why um dr broccoli and i decided to become certified coaches um every school management student is allowed and has the right to one free coaching session per month with either me or president brookly um and let me tell you we found out that coaching has a great impact in our students life because coaching is not therapy coaching is just um having someone to talk with who can listen to you and who can um help you finding the answers by yourself so this is an additional service that we are proud to be offering to all of our students um yeah actually now i would like you to hear uh from the team of ssm so the academic team and i would like to pass the word to professor benedetta podesta who is stay with us and beneditta how are you okay i was muted i'm really good thank you for the invitation because i'm always glad to talk about my experience at the ssm so hello everyone i'm the professor of business law and international law and ethics just a few words about my background i'm a lawyer i'm a boring lawyer but i have 25 years of old experience in the civil law and family law labor law company law and this experience is something that actually i think is very important when you start to teach something because what we try to attract to our students is a sort of blended a mix of theory but also practice because sometimes i realize that when you complete your studies you're not really able to put into practice what you learned so theory is something that is indeed very important uh is part of your uh culture also of your preparation but then you must be able to apply what to learn so i am i'm also responsible for the mood court course the moot court is an extra curricular but also curricular activity that we uh uh we we do in uh collaboration with uh uh with the access station that is named biznet and you also find that they can find the uh the business mark in the presentation uh so it's an association with a number of delegates coming from various universities uh spread all over the world and the mood court is where students have the possibility to apply the rules of the debate by meeting other students and debating around the case of european law what i teach as i said is business law and but also i try to involve my students by proposing case study case studies and also analyzing contracts that is very important and since last year i'm a certified data protection officer so what i wanted to include in my classes was a section dedicated to privacy so gdpr but privacy in general and also cyber security smart contracts and blockchain because when we say that this is the future of business relationships is something that is improper this is the present not the future so uh i think that our students must be always updated about the changes and transformation in the business world so it's not only being a lawyer that is something that probably a business student doesn't want to do but also as i said being prepared to face all the tricks that also law might bring to businessmen so uh again how to sign a contract how to enter into a contract how to read a contract that sometimes might hide some tricks that you don't know and also i would like to talk quite shortly about uh something that is also very important unfortunately because of the corona virus that break it was not really easy to do it but also we organize international weeks so international law week international business week and international entrepreneur week that is also very important because uh actually we have we give the possibility to other professor to meet our students and to uh yeah to to to teach their topics of course so it is a a really good interaction i i would like to to say i would like to uh also to underline the importance of the uh term synergy because this is also what we like to do so uh trying to do something with our colleagues and to uh yeah to offer fully our different experience to the students so the international law week that is the one that i i was more involved involved in is something that also uh creates a sort of yeah union between among different uh experiences and lecture about law but also involving students in analyzing case study and also creating some nice moments you know with guided tours in in rome that is actually a beautiful town to visit uh so visit a museum but also uh yeah uh giving the possibility to students coming from abroad to uh to know the beautiful historical heritages of uh the eternal city uh also i was really glad to see the uh the adventure day you know the outdoor experience that we do because i was personally involved twice i did it twice uh even though i'm not a young student so i consider myself an old woman but indeed i accepted you know the challenge and i um and i did it it was actually very important for me because uh um i personally suffer from the height you know when i climbed in the trees and also jumping uh even insecurity always in security was something that was really helpful for me even though i'm an adult so uh what i would like to say in the end is that my experience at the ssm was also personally a good way to also to improve my skills because when you if you are a good teacher i think you become a better person also because you are you don't keep your skills for yourself but you share them you give them to your students and also the relationship with the students is something that uh helps you to uh see things in different ways and also to uh uh yeah as i said to grow up as a better person so uh i always say thanks to the ssm for giving me the opportunity to uh to be part of the team thank you very much professor benedetta and your words were really encouraging for the aspiring students who would be joining this new program and i'm pretty sure everybody would aspire to gain skills on their skills in the new setup and improve themselves which is the mantra for your of your speech with that i would want to call upon our next speaker dr elizabeth soliday she is again a professor at ssm president of the international school of applied social sciences and also a social entrepreneur a social i'm sorry and the social enterprise barcelona center for applied sciences so she's been involved with some really good organizations and she would share her views on what she thinks would be the journey ahead so over to you dr elizabeth hello everyone can you hear me good yeah you're horrible correct yeah it is an honor to be invited to be part of this uh like an introductory session with everyone it's really a pleasure for me to see everyone i'm looking at all the beautiful faces on the camera i'm very happy that everyone's everyone's camera is on because you know with um the coved everyone is we are talking through computer mediation mediated platform so the best thing that i can see the reaction is uh by looking at everyone's faces so i am um here based in barcelona so hola from barcelona and um i'm dr elisabeth nawi i am um the president of the issa as you can see from my background that's international school of applied social sciences and also i am running a social enterprise called barcelona center for applied sciences these are educational institutions that i founded here in barcelona in spain uh i am also a professor at ssm and i am teaching the most interesting subject i am i am just teasing the faculties who are here of course every every every subject with ssm you know we have a different approach and uh we are enjoying actually the presence of our an interaction with our students um i am teaching uh international communication negotiation leadership and entrepreneurship uh entrepreneurship and management inter intercultural communication skills and everything about communication my phd is in communication i am a product of the erasmus the scholarship uh of the european union i finished my phd in the south of france in university of nice and just like you i am from asia i am originally from the philippines but you know i started i lived in the us for a while and then i uh i did my scholarship my phd in the south of france so i speak french and then now i am here in barcelona trying to learn spanish and hopefully i will learn italian so that i can be more affiliated with our own campus what makes me uh proud of being part of ssm is that the quality of our students are really amazing i am teaching um international negotiation skills for mba students from algeria and from our students from bahrain and i can tell you that sometimes i i question myself you know in the middle of the discussion like uh the students are so smart they are so intelligent very experienced and sometimes i question myself you know during the class what am i doing here because um aside from just like what benedetto said i feel like an old woman in the middle of a very young student you know sometimes i feel that the only advantage the only advantage i have with them is that i am older but the quality of not only the curriculum but the readings all the assigned materials all the case studies they are really well taught off you know it's not only very academic just but just like what serena said in the introduction this a program these case studies academic readings are assigned to prepare the students for the real world and the interaction is the kind of a lecture that we deliver with uh from the ssm site is that we are not actually we are professors act like facilitators and mentors we don't teach we don't teach we interact with the students and in the process we learn from each other of course through experience because of age there are a lot of experiences that we can share to the students but i can tell you you know benedetta and all the rest of the faculty of ssm here they will definitely agree with me when i tell you that we learn from the interaction with our students we just guide them academically on how to put their experiences in writing how to put their experiences to make it an academic paper worthy of publication but the mentorship and the facilitation is what is really excellent about um about ssm i've been living here in in europe for the past almost 10 years actually um i i teach in different international universities i taught in the international university of monaco when i was still a student in the south of france and then i taught in many uh international school here also in barcelona and what what clicks with ssm is that i am on board with the vision a lot of international school would prepare you how to be academician but we with ssm we prepare you on how to really interact in the real world there are a lot of academic concepts but in my subject in my core courses that i am teaching which is international communication and negotiation you know i am preparing my students how to really go out there and read the environment to be able to get exactly what they want that which is about negotiation if you don't have you know if you don't have that skill no matter how good your idea is or how good your product is you will not be able to sell it no matter how good you are if you will not be able to communicate effectively uh what you can do and what you can offer then you are not going to get what you want so um i am uh you said uh earlier that um uh your students your method of instruction or is 70 academic and then 30 international trips i am here to welcome you to barcelona so anytime you are ready just let me know i am here to show you my beautiful city so everyone welcome to ssm again this is uh i uh everyone calls me dr chinese thank you so much thank you so much dr elizabeth and we would love to come to barcelona and look around the city uh the next speaker is paolo bongarzani the wise dean at swiss school of management rome campus another beautiful city member of the academic senate professor of managerial statistics finance and economics so he knows a lot of math he knows a lot of numbers and uh welcome to the panel paulo and the stage is yours thanks so much for introducing me so kindly thanks so much and i'm very happy to be here with you and to see such a nice face uh uh around me so as you said my name is paolo von garzoni i'm the vice dean of the school i am italian australian and uh i'm coming straight from the business world let's say so in uh in my past i was an ex-consultant of the big five so deloitte artur anderson mainly working on management consultant and corporate finance project i also had some responsibility in some corporations like dike in europe i was one of the members of the strategic planning team for emea area and there was the m a responsible of the service division of bombardier that is a company train com one of the best uh transportation company in the world uh then a certain point of my life i decided to change a little bit my career because i really like to to teach and to pass to my student actually all the stuff that i managed to learn during my professional life and i was so lucky to meet um massimo bracala emacio broccoli is a president of the sweet school of management we met actually in 2016 and uh starting from this meeting really we immediately understood that we were on the same page we really want to actually boost also also actually the school just to have the possibility to pass to the student what we really do in the real professional life so starting from that actually we start to recruit student professor delivering lesson and also also in the placement of the student after the course always following this important criteria of linking with the real business world so also when we hired students we are of course students that are only interested in really growing professionally and establishing this important link at thai level with the business world during our classes also as my colleague anticipated we do a lot of business studies also because our professor okay it's true that we also teach theory theory from the very very high regarded books from also the american college but first of all we also we share with the student our professional experience so we put the student in front of real business case just to really you know motivate them and get them used to really solve the real situation in corporations so not only in terms of professional of course approach to problem but also in terms of all the skills that are necessary to solve this problem in terms of i.t skill in term of language in terms of communication leadership and so on this year we placed many students in very important companies so we talked about companies about like capgemini pricewaterhousecooper they're all companies that here by here they always ask us to send more students also because they know how well trained our our students are of course and for me i tell you the professional the most important things for me the most fun and interesting thing for me is like conducting these business cases in class so for example okay at bachelor level i teach a very technical subject like accounting econo microeconomics microeconomics uh statistics that sometimes look a little bit boring you know but we try to teach them with the real life approach because at the end in three four years these guys will go in corporation to present in front of body about their theories about their project so they have to get used from the first day they enter our school actually to deliver a presentation in a professional way in term of master i if you roll in the class of course i will work with you mostly on global microeconomics and business that is not macroeconomics that you usually i mean you usually learn in a bachelor program but it's a macroeconomics that is strongly linked to the business decision so for example what the usual strategic planning office does when is monitoring the main macroeconomic variables in the world how these macroeconomics variables affect the normal business or company life and now the company can business point of view react to this type of macroeconomic variable variations so you understand immediately that this course is very is very practical like all the majority of my courses for example last night with my executive mba class we were discussing about important variables like the fiscal and monetary policies adopted by the government what the type what are the implications of a loosed or tied fiscal and monetary monetary policy can have a normal business world and what can manager finance managing a company implement in order to take advantage of this brand new situation of your local market so it was very interesting because all the students that are coming from everywhere in the world share their point of view about uh of course uh what their prime minister implemented what their corporations that are placed in the country are doing in order to overcome this kind of variation so of course uh it was a lot of fun because you can imagine also how you can have also the possibility to meet professionals that all over the world and they can really contribute to the content of the class okay so uh really this just these few words just to tell you that um uh as a professional i was really really impressed about uh by ssm because really it's an opportunity for us that we are professional international professionals like me like benedict like my colleagues to share what we learn during our professional life with our students and of course to help them in a professional practical way to approach also the theory because imagine my first degree was at la sapienza university in rome that is the first university of rome and i lost my my sight power in this year just to read the books of 1500 pages that okay it was okay it was an experience i really enjoyed but what i really missed it was actually say this type of practical and professional approach and of course learning and working in a real professional life i learned that of course business is something else is not only having huge amount of theories in your head but is also learning how a manager a director behaves in front of the employees in front of the board of director how the manager managed the project in a real life and we are in the same page with all the professor of ssm so this is also what we require usually to our professor that teach at bachelor and master level we try to to understand to make sure that they will bring within the school within our student this type of knowledge and the most beautiful things the most reward just to finish because of course maybe you want to listen to other speakers or maybe you have some questions the most beautiful thing that a teacher a profes professor an ex-professional like me could happen that receiving phone call from all these friends and contact that they have in this important corporation asking for more student asking for some cvs for my student because they know very well that students they graduate through school of management they are at a certain level very level professional professional level so and this is the most beautiful thing that can happen to me because it means that of course we did our well uh very well our job and we were successful in giving this type of skill over to our uh to our uh student and also because we can keep on going with our school also with the help of this current student that are working for example in pwc in capgemini in all these type of big corporations okay i think for me on my side for the moment it's okay but if you if you have any question of course feel free to contact me or feel free to ask now and i will be more than happy to share with you some more ins about my experience at ssm thank you so much professor paolo and uh in case uh our students have any question we would definitely take them to you and maybe they can get on a different channel to discuss our things with you in details uh meanwhile uh we have our next speaker for the for the day uh dr renard dr reynard so is part of the world economic forum expert network group a post doctoral fellow with the center of energy and environmental markets also is honored as malaysia's top 10 most inspiring green warriors and has been a graduate of the university of new south wales and cambridge university so uh let the man speak himself dr enner the stage is yours well yeah thanks anurag and hello everyone and uh welcome i guess to the uh mba cohort uh i'm bernard and by means of introduction my area of specialty is really in sustainability and climate change uh looking and exploring like how businesses are actually adapting to be more resilient as you know like in asia where i'm based at in the past the concept of sustainability was very much just csr philanthropic but of course a lot of that has evolved over the years businesses are starting to look at how they can be more sustainable and we're talking about a broad spectrum of different industries uh where i came from uh through my corporate experience i've worked with you know some of the largest uh plantation companies dabbling into palm oil and tea to property and construction which contributes to about forty percent of the world's global emissions um you know to motors uh energy and utilities there's such a broad range of different industries that are evolving um and and one of the modules that i'm teaching specifically is on competitive uh strategy where we'll be exploring what are some of the tools that can be used in what sort of situations um what sort of case studies have evolved uh taking on a much global perspective and also sharing a bit about the experiences that i've gone through uh you know over the years which i think you know there's a lot to discuss about uh i've held you know prior to sort of moving into academe i've you know held the role as the head of sustainability for some of the largest uh conglomerates you know operating in more than 23 different countries it's a very challenging environment but how do we turn right a crisis situation into an opportunity and i think there's a lot for us to to learn and to share uh from one another uh and i'm really looking forward to this because one of my area of passion is really about putting theory into practice as well you know as as what some of the speakers have mentioned it's so important to have that right as sort of a key uh component of your learning because you really want to be pragmatic you don't just want to have hate knowledge but you want to go out there in the industry and be really ready to just you know get the ball rolling uh as we call it so you know i guess i'll just conclude by saying that i'm really excited about this uh program and i really look forward to uh engaging with um you know like all of you trail this year and i'll pass the time back to anurag thank you very much dr ennard and we really look forward to having you in the family and and learn from you uh as a next speaker nuen quang hui has had 10 years as experience as a lecturer researcher of the foreign trade university vietnam five years as director of external relations and recruitment of the executive mba at vietnam university of huawei and he's also been a founder and primary advisor with the vietnam social innovation challenge so a lot to his name a lot of tradition to his name instead of me speaking about it let's hear from the man himself wait the stage is yours okay hello everyone my name is i am professor of accounting and management in vietnam i finished my my degree from the u.s and up on coming back to vietnam i had the five years at the director of eastern relationship for vietnam executive mba offered by university of hawaii in u.s and i also has one year at the startup incubation program for vietnam so so that is one of my passion to listen to young people to share about their business and how education can change your business and change your lives and and in my courses of accounting financial management i use the case study approach and we will discuss how we can use accounting financial management to make a better decision for your business and to make the good investment into your business and into your life yeah so if you have any question related to my expertise and and to the opportunities for making investment in vietnam so you just contact me because i am also the founders of the vietnam social innovation challenge in vietnam uh so this is the 10 years competitions for for first starting up the social enterprise in vietnam and we also had a good network in vietnam so thank you and i am looking forward to working with you with accounting and management thank you thank you very much hui and we've shared some really good experiences of him being a part of geb and we've heard from him in the past and and we we really look forward to your association and your experiences would definitely mean a lot to the students our next speaker for the session is mr subeed ahmed senior director cab gemini india limited he served at multiple multinational companies also holds a distinction of being among the five percent applicants to attend massachusetts institute of technology's innovation bootcamp so swede please enrich us with your experiences and what you expect out of this entire program what do you feel about it what suggestions you would have for the for for the young generations who are about to join the program over to you thank you and i hope you can hear me absolutely okay wonderful uh good morning good evening or wherever you have um thank you so much for inviting me here uh extremely proud to be part of this thank you to tsb and the swiss school of management uh and of course ggb uh anurag parshu kadendra it has been a great uh pleasure being associated with you in geg program good to see some familiar faces as well so uh has andrag has kindly introduced me spent almost 20 years in it industry okay building software uh being a developer being an architect has been my passion and that's what i've been doing from last 20 plus years in multiple you know large companies today i work as a senior director in capgemini uh global id services company and uh see i mean what i bring on to the table is a practical implementation of a software in a digital economy right today we all know that even if you look at 20 years ago the companies which were they are no longer there today all we have is internet-based companies with a very different model of working whether you take facebook twitter aware live stream on facebook that speaks a lot right and apart from that many such companies you're already aware of it and they are fundamentally different in the way they are set up the way they operate the way they scale and the network effort they create they create right so i've been passionate about this subject and have been you know part of these implementations so i definitely like to share my experience on that also we all know that today data is the new oil and data is one thing which is building a lot of insights breakthrough analytics ai ml how do we use all these right and uh and being part of a pharma industry for almost 15 years working with phillips g healthcare and now with johnston johnson the impact of this data on a patient outcome the productivity it brings is amazing the power is amazing so i'll be glad to share my experience on this absolutely really pleasure to you know share this experience but apart from this technical stuff i definitely want to tell few things right been reading through one of the studies which says that what are the things which impact student achievement right being in a business school obviously the the environment the school creates the kind of professors work with you etc has a deep impact and of course their impact like your home environment and social economic status as well they have very good impact all positive impact but two things which stands out one is what is the impact of you know a student's estimate of a professor's estimate on student right what it actually means is because professor expects a lot from you day in day out and consistently the student adapts to that and brings the best out of it okay and the second important thing is second influence is what students expect about themselves on their achievement the more they expect from themselves and the way they want to believe in them that creates a more enormous potential so combining the teacher and student relationship i think we can do a lot of wonders absolutely and that's what i think it's very important part of being in such program and and and i'm glad that i'm back to the students days at least in the in the form of a teacher at this point of time i would like to be on the other side and learn as well but i am sure it will be learning both the ways so uh again with pandemic lot of great opportunities in the digital economic space and i am sure we'll explore this together again thank you so much for the opportunity really enjoyed being part of it thank you thank you very much and we also look forward to learning a lot from you maybe we can teach you a few lessons from our book but we learn a lot from your book so uh with that uh i would want to to introduce our next speaker for the session dr mr rahman kiran kiron is the honorary of the forbes 30 under 30 and the founder and president of the physically challenged development foundation pdf he also has worked as a training and grant specialist community options princeton new jersey usa and at brac as a consultant for the black youth project he was a fellow of atlas corps and the asia europe foundation so uh i'm sure we would gain a lot from this interaction uh kiron the stage is yours uh good morning from chicago and good afternoon everyone i'm sorry that i'm talking and i'm driving i'm extremely sorry for that can you hear me yeah you're horrible loud and clear yeah i was expecting to talk a little bit later when i finished my driving but it's look like it's early but it's all right i'm very excited very excited to join in this wonderful initiative because um he has already introduced me what i'm doing here and what is my works i do but i just want to mention one one small things who is in fact impacted in my life significantly and that is mentorship so young people like me on you you guys are we always want to create something we are very creative we believe we are creative we want to lead the chain but the problem we face is we have we have lack of resources and guidance because we don't know we want to do something but we sometime we don't know that what to do and what not to do and how to do it so in that in that case mentorship is a very important part i have did something that's why you know as you mentioned like uh the food recognized me but why because i tried to do something and i found two mentors who guided me how to do that and how to go to next system how to create impact and that helped me a lot to bring those changes we have made together so this program is not only an academic program is of all i what i believe is about mentoring and nurse nurturing the emerging leaders the emerging entrepreneurs and the and the leaders who want to be the part of change so i'm excited to part of this journey and learning from you all and also i would love to share and give from my side like mentorship whatever you need from my experience amano is open so i will not talk a lot my only concern is let's start our journey with this wonderful mentorship program and also the academic program so thank you very much for giving me the chance and have a wonderful rest of the day thanks a lot kiran thanks a lot and i have a safe journey and we look really forward to having a lot of experiential chats with you we can learn a few things from your book uh so uh we've heard from professors we've heard from distinguished uh participants distinct distinguished people who are going to be a part of the gsp and ssm family but uh the entire conversation would remain incomplete if we do not hear from an alumni and and understand what he has to say about his experiences at ssm uh so with that i would wish to welcome uh an alumni attendee uh singletary and would wish to pass on the microphone to him please go ahead and let us know of how you what has been your experiences in the campus what have you liked about it and and what would you want the new attendees and the new joiners to explore when they they they go about in the same journey which you've taken some time back please the stage is yes okay i i will first uh like to thank uh everybody for having here and for all the future students that are coming here uh you ain't gonna be any sleep you're gonna work yourself today i'm just joking with you i uh i enjoyed my uh my experience with uh ssm um as far as uh who i am i'm uh uh am i from the u.s from tampa florida i have a degree from kansas a master's degree in education from kansas state university my bachelor is from southern illinois university i'm a retired u.s navy pilot i had a business i recently closed that business last year it was a consulting business and what i do um currently is i just volunteer uh helping organizations here in naples italy uh as far as oh lastly is not lastic but i'm enrolled in the ssm bba program i hope to be called dr singletary here in a few years and with that for me that says a lot about um the school and and the organization um all of my education up to here um that you know i'm not gonna say uh was bad or good but it was different and when i came here to ssm instead of spending hours and hours just writing papers and getting it back and then writing writing i was now arguing my position something that um in my in my military career i did a lot um but in college i never did and so that experience uh was great and then i learned how to market myself better i think ssm for me um provided that additional quality that maybe i did not have the little market how to market you how to market your knowledge how to market your resume everything's about selling yourself selling your message and uh how you present it i i think that really um is what i i got it uh ssl um and for me i guess the last thing i say about the instructors they were all great um if you if you ever have a class with maximo you're gonna laugh a lot he's he's challenging um you'll learn a lot he's straight for it he doesn't um hide anything back he reads a lot like me so we're both bookworms um i think that's about it but it's a great institution a great class um like i said if you're coming from um a a an american-based education system is going to be a little bit different but it's unique and i like that about it so that that's been my experience okay so ssm is unique the experiences are unique that's the takeaway from his conversation and uh we've heard everybody here we've also heard from one of the alumni one of our one of them amongst us and uh the key takeaway is that this journey has to be and will be different might be a little challenging but we would enjoy it and we would learn a lot from it we would hand hold each other whenever there is the need of a mentorship or or peer learning and i'm pretty sure uh the new joinings the new students who are coming in would enjoy their ride here with that i would want to take this opportunity to thank all the speakers who took out time to talk to the new joinies i would also want to thank the new joinies the new students who who would be joining this journey very soon and with that i want to again extend my heartiest thanks to everybody stay safe and let's find out
