lots of painting and end of the year insecurities
I need. To whatever effort. But. Indeed I do you guys. It's. So classic realtor nexium Corsica be done in come on. Notice. On under capital. Murder. Oh. Hi. You guys how are you good, morning today's. Monday no, one is, at. The studio whatsoever, not only my studio, but it feels like I'm the only human being today. Only, because it's December 23rd, and I guess everybody's. Chillaxing. I on. The other hand wanted, to come to a studio because, it's so quiet and nice and today, I decided, that, I, wanna paint. I'm. A very insecure artist, as, you can tell and. I. Saw. All of these very inspiring, tweets. Of people. Saying, like my best illustration, of 2019. And I realized, that even though this year I have done so many studies and. Sketches. I haven't, done lots. Of. Painted. Illustrations. This, year I wanted to focus on as, you guys know facial. Expressions, noses. Drawing. People. With. More. Ethnicities. And like body, types and stuff like that so, all of the work that I've done all, my body of work of 2019, I was. More based, on sketches, than, finished. Illustrations. So, today I wanted. To. Risk. Myself, how, do you say that and I'm. Going to paint. A very. Complex. Illustration. I hate. Buildings. I hate. Buildings. I hate, landscapes. I mean, hate is such a strong word, it's something oh god how can I describe, this I am very bad at painting. And drawing landscapes this. Is why I have been avoiding them for so long because I can't, bear the. Fact of failing. But. Anyway, before. The year ends, I wanted. To. Face. My fears I'm, slapping. My camera I'm sorry I wanted, to face my fears and draw, a, landscape, so I found. Picture. That took a while, back, near Times. Square and I'm going to draw that picture or like the illustrated, version of the picture and yesterday. I was doing kind. Of like. How. Can you say that like a study, of the sketch and I, really, like. The feeling of this sketch even though it's just a sketch I love how undone it is I'm really, nervous my love's I know the drawing is going to suck. Am. I setting myself for failure it's not that I'm saying yes, I am I am setting myself for failure I feel, like a huge pressure that I have to perform well in front of you guys because I want to impress you I want, to impress myself, but. At the same time I, feel, like I don't leave room for. Experiment. Like to experiment and, to, fail or, just. Like, nod. Be. Mind. Like I said. A lot of pressure on the results and not, so much on the process, so, right now even, though I am going to fill myself and you're going to see the results, and judge me Agathe, I am. Trying to be more, kinder, to. Myself and, be like whatever. It is it. Will be you, know. So. That's that's. What I'm going to do today please. Hold my hand because. I'm scared. The other treatment. Okay, guys I'm done with lunch and, all. Of this is already dry, I added a few details, with white but. Now I'm ready to outline. This method. Also. I just baked this. Mug I probably, already told you with. Inserts, but I'm, my. Friends and I are organizing, the Secret Santa and I got my friend's mom I don't, know her that well but I know she is in love with her grandson. So I decided to do this. Mug for her and you're supposed to bake. The. Mug in order to set the painting for a half an hour that's. 300. Fahrenheit. And, I. Am so happy the glaze like the mug didn't. Break in the oven I'm, so happy, anyway I am, going to draw. This now I'm, running out of battery so maybe I will wait to get home to charge, the battery and then, I will show you the final result that's so excited, hip. Are, you guys good morning today. Sunday. My. Hair, we're. On our way to the. Studio because, I have to do my. Monthly, livestream. With, my patrons and. I. Also have to finish, a couple of things before going. On. Holiday. I'm, so happy you guys. Usually. Generate. But. Like the first weeks, of January is the time where and I take, time. Off and, this. Time a, comedy. About saying this we're, going to Tokyo. We. Went to Tokyo for. The first time in. 2016. I guess let me see if I look semi decent no. We. Went to Tokyo first, time back, in 2016. And when, we went we, thought okay this is it we're definitely like. There's no chance in. Hell we, can go again. Because. I don't know we we thought it was like a once-in-a-lifetime, time, experience. And. Now. We're going again and, I'm so happy we. Have been saving, for this trip for a while so. I can't believe it's actually happening this, Tuesday. So.
Yeah, That. Means obviously, that. We have two, full days to get, ready for the trip like, to pack I, need. To dye my hair a couple of you guys asked me Fran. What happen with your pink hair I've. Been waiting. To. Be as close, as the trip as possible so I can dye my hair pink. Because, the, crappy. Thing the. Sad thing about. Fantasy. Hair colors. Or like weird. Hair colors is that they fade super, quickly, so. I. Wanted, to wait as. Close as possible to the trip so I can have pink. Hair. Like, the longest, time I don't I can't I can't race I I wanted, to have pink. Hair as much as possible in my Japan, trip yeah, I said it correctly yes, okay. So today. I also want to finish this. Baby yet rough you guys remember but I started painting this. Obviously, we can see it this wash painting. Last. Week I mean this week and I, would really would, like to finish it because, even. Though I'm super scared of, out loudly outlining, it I think. It's a really nice exercise, and, I usually don't do this. Type of like landscape. Illustrations. On my sketchbook. So, I'm really, both. Excited, and terrified it's. So silly to be terrified at a sketch. Like I never stray here anyway. So. Yeah now I'm on, my way to studio and. I'm also I stole, one, of the tote. Bags that I had for sale but. Nice humans, I, I. Stole. Them. Because. It was I I, don't know if you can see but it's a bag that had like a few printing, issues. And, I, thought no one was going to buy this, bag so I'm like I might as well just have it for me and keep it so. I did by, the way guys I changed my camera I don't know if you can tell it, is the first time I actually have, a flip, screen I already told you that I've, been using the same camera the Canon EOS m. Since. 2011, and this is the first time in, a decade in, which I have a new camera. I. Love, my old camera by the way I just change it because I. Never. Had a flip screen I'm like I wonder what it feels like to her flip screen, so. Yeah I hope you guys like it Tumi's, really come from now to record. If I'm honest, it. Used to be a painting in, ds2. Film. Beforehand. So. Now I think I, can't, wait to try it in Tokyo and I'm, so excited about Tokyo, I feel like if. I can get like we. Intimate. And vulnerable, with you guys sometimes. I feel like I don't deserve to go to Tokyo, I mean you can see all of my clothes and imperfections, in here that's fine I, feel. Like I don't deserve to go I mean it's weird because I feel like it's, such a like amazing, trip and I can't believe when I'm doing again, but. Sometimes I feel like I, haven't. Worked hard enough in order to serve a trip like that but, then I remember, all. Of the times that I felt burned out during. 2019. And I'm, like of course I deserve this trip but anyway I feel like I, know, I'm silly and I'm not supposed to feel like that but, I do every. Once in a while. So. Yeah I feel like, I, have impostor syndrome in. An all-time high this. Past couple of weeks especially. Surrounding. My work and what I have done this year, and. Sometimes. I feel like I'm not a little straighter because. Even. Though I'm illustrating a, lot and I'm doing lots of. Sketch. Studies, I feel like I haven't done like a big, illustration. Project this year I haven't I didn't, do a book this year I didn't do, a, scene or like. A graphic novel or a comic, so. I feel like should, I be calling myself an illustrator, or should I be I don't, know it's, what I said the other day how, I feel, like I. Saw. All of this amazing artist doing like my best work in 2018. And all of those are, super. Finished, and amazing, detail, full-color. Illustrators. And I'm like I didn't do any of those things this year I did, lots of studies, so if, I can be kinder, and nicer to myself this, year I spend, most of the time making. Studies, like studying. Body. Shapes and body types and. Making. Sure that I'm more, inclusive, in my illustrations, trying to be more.
I Don't. Know, trying. I guess. The word is trying to, draw. More ethnicities, so what. I'm trying to say you guys is I'm trying to be not so dismissive on the work that I've done this year and even though it doesn't look like a really finished, put. Together a. Full-color. Detailed illustration. It is still a super. Nice. Something. Valuable to do sketches, to, study, to perfect yourself so if you don't have any finished illustrations. For. This end of the year don't feel bad because it's still valuable I still. Good. It's still something, like I'm so proud of the things that I achieved this year illustration. Wise so. Yeah. We'll. Still love ourselves anyway. Let's, go to Sudha now. Yeah. Let's. Go.

Fran Meneses This video hit the spot… I like the chill pace, I was running around all day. I listen to jazz to chill, and watching this is very nice. Also, have you ever seen live jazz? One of my favorite things to do.
Fran ! I'm a fan of your work for a few years now , your videos always make me happy watching , and I'm always looking forward to Friday so I can watch the new one
Don't you eat vegan anymore?
Fran, you are such an inspiration and I love this pace of video so much too! Happy new year my lovely xxx
Love your video's! Sometimes I find your uploads a bit too text heavy; that's because I draw myself when watching, so I don't get to read them all
I loved this video, calm, slowly, creative, with Ed :) Love from Paris France :)
The drawing you made is marvelous ! I really like the vibes of it and somehow reminds me of NYC (i'm french living in Paris). Is there any way we could get one of your illustration as a print ? I saw you don't sell prints on your website but I would really love to have this one on my wall, for real. I love your videos really much and as a creative myself you give me motivation to go further ! Keep going, love seeing you draw and also love this jazzy chill vibes you put into your videos ! Love from Paris !
Love seeing the steps in the "slow" painting process - love your videos! And you totally deserve the trip to Japan! ❤
Me encanta escucharlos hablar español entre ustedes ❤️
Sometimes if we´re in a time where we work on the roots we forget that the results just don´t show right away. It´s important to take the time to work on the root problems. When the work is done we will be able to step outside and produce things that radiate with knowlegde.
I really love the quiet parts of your videos but also talking parts. the mix is great and I love the jazz :3
The final illustration turned out amazing! Thank you for sharing your process & this amazing vlog :)
Love your flip screen. You deserve to go. GO!
You're an amazing artist
Hey Fran, I am so happy that you can travel to Tokyo once again...very excited to know how is your experience in Japan this second time. It was lovely watching you sketch ...you did gooood ! :)
*best way to procrastinate
I’ve already said this before but the slow placed bits bring so much peace into my life. I get to slow down with you and fall in love with art and the creation of art all over again. We artists get to have this headspace of “it takes time” and being okay with it is a struggle sometimes! Your videos get me re present to that love.
I LOVE THIS! Slow paced and calm! And great music! I was practicing drawing/painting and journaling with this video on and it was perfect
not only do i enjoy watching you make art, fran, but the video clips outside of the studio and your flat is also inspirational! it lets me know that there's more to share and be appreciative of these things, and that's not only reflective in your artwork. listening and watching your process makes me want to make art as i watch your videos. happy new year!! :) enjoy your time in tokyo!!!!
I enjoy these videos and I missed watching you draw! Would love to see more paintings and procreate drawings!
grande Fran!! :) what kind of paint did you use to paint the mug? thanks. enjoy your trip
Yes to being nicer to yourself, good advice for us all. Also, your feelings are valid, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed or imposter syndrome. The catch is to not let it dominate or overcome you. Giant hugs. Enjoy the trip!
I know that feeling of dread when you see what others have achieved...Urgh . But I think baby Fran or even London Fran would be super insanely impressed and in awe of what you achieved this year. Have a wonderful time in Tokyo.
Have you tried overtone for your hair dye ? I just tried it and I have to say the color has lasted pretty well I have purple hair, but they have a daily conditioner that you can use to help keep the color (you have to use gloves cuz it can dye your hands but it does help) I have curly hair so I only wash my hair like three times a week but it really has kept the color well. It’s vegan too a little on the expense side but it seems to work well and it’s been lasting, I dyed it at the being of December and I’ve only lost a little bit of color it’s also pretty hydrating for you hair
FRAN HAS A VIEW FINDER! I REPEAT FRAN HAS A VIEW FINDER!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!
the painting looks so so good !! reminds me of the rhapsody in blue section in fantasia :^) really truly wonderful
your vlogs are always so soothing in some way
'We Are Nice Humans' is a beautiful message and work for the year Fran. You personally sourced, washed and ironed the pieces yourself before printing each one by hand -an absolute labour of love. Thank you for honesty, authenticity and heart, you are a true inspiration
Me encanta tu estilo de video que estas haciendo Fran, it's so perfect
I hope you’re enjoying your new flippy camera Fran. But we must know, are you still going to film the classic Fran mirror shots?
I could hear you there, listening to our Meme Mum!
But I loved your work from this year, the studies make me smile so much. I wish I could see them in person. Don’t push yourself down, those are illustrations too, and to be honest I value them probably more than some finished works from illustrators/artists. They show so much, including process, artists thoughts/focus, etc. I could ramble forever, essentially please continue your sketches
Estoy muy feliz por tu viaje
I love how you film it’s very organic and relaxing. I like the mixture of background noise and music, random question tho? Do you ever find it tedious moving the camera around for different angles and such? Just curious and I love the city illustration! Enjoy Tokyo!
Que bonito video
@valeria peñaloza gracias? :3
Es chilena
Have your favorite authors all published a book this year? Probably not. Don’t feel bad about your work. Studies are so important and what is important is the journey, not the end goal. And don’t forget that your videos are a form of art, you did lots of amazing and inspiring things in 2019!
9:48 Yes, I do. I love you.
The sketch turned out SO SO nice! Love your Illustrations
I love your music choices in videos. They always work well with what's going on visually.
Also your painting came out beautiful,I really love his expression, this scene feels very *ghibli*
Tengo esa gran duda hace mucho
Could you do a video about being vegan in Japan and how accessible it is? As well as not be able to speak Japanese?
What do i like in terms of videos??? Everything you do is great!!! I feel like you have a great mix of painting, working, home life, NYC, etc. I wouldn't hate seeing more of the cats though. I love those cats!
Honestly, the way you've done videos historically and now is why I follow! Super relaxing and just lovely. You've created a wonderful space that I look forward to.
YES!!!! We enjoy these calm slow paced drawing videos/sequences❤️❤️❤️It’s never enooouugghhhhh
You should get pink shampoo and conditioner! I have pink hair all the time now, I just use it every time I shower, it's amazing. I use Bleach London, Swartzkopf have one and if you can't get that in the US there will definitely be an alternative - check your nearest big beauty shop or Amazon :)
Bleach London is vegan and cruelty free also :)
You so deserve your time away! Really lovely relaxing video and great to see the whole process from start to finish xx
Hi Fran, watching you reference a B&W photo for your drawing made me think it would be cool if you painted one of Ed's photos in B&W/grays which would combine your style and his. Your painting is incredible and your skill is evident, but most important is your clear illustration 'voice' - the feel and internal communication your work accomplishes - which is yours and irreplaceable. Practice is learning and is the only path to success. We all appreciate seeing you go through that so we don't have false expectations of our own process and capabilities, so thank you for your candid bravery.
Your drawing and painting style are fabulous, very clever and sophisticated. So have more confidence.. you wouldn't be so successful on YouTube if you were shit !!!! Watching you pain is fabulous its a shame you don't do it more...I dearly wish you sold post card sets of these type of illustrations they are enchanting!!!!
thank you fran for such inspire
yahooooooo LONG VIDEO!!!! I love when you do long ones. AND it didn't disappoint - except when I finished it and then was sad it was over. When I found your channel a year ago or something like that I binge watched it and so now to just have ONE video to watch at a time feels like not enough. But now I go back sometimes and watch videos I've already watched and try to pick up tips for my own videos (as far as shots, editing, the flow, etc.). AND you may not have done a book but you did a WHOLE COLLECTION of clothes this year woman! Love your work Fran!
You're an amazing artist. Never doubt yourself!
thank you for your vulnerability about the doubts and anxieties as an artist. your sincerity is so inspiring, and your art is simply beautiful. have a lovely trip to tokyo!
I love the music and the editing of your videos. I love how calm they are because I usually eat my breakfast while I watch ❤️
i love the illustration so much! looks so calm but lively (is this the right term? man, my german english skills are bomb
Did I hear my ankle bearing meme mom in the background while you painted???
Hi Fran Thank you so much for those videos. I suffer from anxiety and they always calm me down. All the best for 2020. Regards Daniel
Why would you feel bad for not printing new book, while you've printed like hundreds t-shirts one by one, while putting all that effort to get them second hand, opened new online shop, did the website by yourself, filmed dozens of videos and plenty of other amazing things?! Like Instagram comics and gifs or that poster with eyes? I thought your 2019 was really thriving and successful. :0
Yaaaaaassss be kinder to yourself
I love the colours you chose for that drawing! Great job!
Be proud of the small steps that lead to the Big ones. Eres digna por el esfuerzo que haz demonstrado en todo este tiempo that I follow you. Haz crecido grandemente en tu estilo come ilustradora (is that even a word?!)
i could tell you were watching Costube's secret santa videos!! :D
It came out so cute, I'm so proud of you Fran. I do not have the patience so I also envy you, lol
I really like how you are open and say what you are feeling. Showing vulnerability and trying to overcome your fears are great qualities! You go girl! Happy new year Fran!!!
YES, OF COURSE WE ENJOY SLOW - PACED CALMED VIDEOS, o sea por favor, fran, por algo te miramos, porque eres una de nuestras youtubers favoritas del mundo mundial.
This video was so peaceful and so open, thank you for being such an inspiration ✨ What camera did you get?
Tokyo is so inspirational cuando se trata De Fashion and Art.
Of course you deserve the Tokyo trip! But can I ask why again Tokyo?
I LOVE the slower paced painting videos. Always search for them on your channel when I want to relax. Thanks Fran!
"Please do not steal the books" ja! pensé que eso solo se vería en Latinoamérica.
sponsored by oatly yet? they should hire you as a designer! (and i can't even have oats... i'd love it anyway.)
Me animó tu video. Saludos!!!
Dices que eres, "an insecure artist" , I am an unproductive artist right now. AAAYUUUUUDAAAAMEEEEEE!!! LOL!
9:46 Yes, I do enjoy such slow paced calm videos 18:53 and I actually like how you always film facing a mirror, that was your 'thing' and I thought it was so unique and very cool. But of course it's great that you now have a flip screen camera to use!
love dat smooth jazz my anxiety melts away
Okay Fran but how many of those illustrators launched their own online shop, built from the ground up? Hmmmmm? You have done a lot! How many of them flawlessly hand picked, washed and then screen printed BY HAND T-shirt’s and tote bags? Hmmmm? You deserve ALL THE TOKYO TRIPS!
What brand of hair color are you using?? I've had the best luck with Arctic Fox, it's pretty long lasting and the fade-out is pretty.
And then one minute later she addresses it lol
17 minutes in I had a realization..... NO MIRROR FRAN!
Have a safe trip and I'm a new subscriber.
love this so much Fran! thank you for keeping us inspired and giving us glimpses into your life. you inspire me to create everytime i watch your videos and you're also so reassuring when it comes to fears we face as artists. Thank yo again for your work and content.
I love you guys. I'm going to Blick on Sunday...quisiera encontrarme con ustedes to see all that your into. Los amo mucho...Feliz Año Nuevo...2020, Baby!
❤️
Enjoy your welldeserved trip!
ah I have impostor syndrome so much as well , I think it is natural
Way to go! Excellent job! Happy New Year.
Fran, you are so inspiring! Thank you for your videos and thank you for your honesty. I just love your finished illustration!
You worked hard, you deserve a trip to Japan!
Fran why are you so beautiful ❤️❤️ i love your eyes and just who you are. You always motivated me to go and paint something on my sketchbook book, thank you
Just started following you a month or so ago and have been catching up on all the missed vLogs! You’ll have so much (more fun) with the flip screen camera and can’t wait to see the vids from Japan. Safe trip!
As someone who is still so new to drawing, it makes me feel so much calmer and less anxious to see you draw and paint in real time. It’s like breaking down your steps and taking your time, rather than just seeing the finished piece makes me feel like I can get there too! Have the best time in Tokyo! ❤️
Welcome to Tokyo!!!!
So perfect the draw
I loooove the real time painting/drawing/living videos. It’s so interesting to watch but also very relaxing. Your videos are like a big hug (like a Gilmore Girls episode)
Love watching your vlogging but I have missed your more process type videos! A lovely peaceful time while I also try my hand at creating in my space.
I felt the same about all those end of the year art stuff. I felt like I didn't progress enough, but then I also just got into digital art last year so I know I shouldn't be too hard on myself. I know what I was doing "wrong" last year and this year I'm going to try to not focus too much on that art wise. I started a new digital piece more true to my art style before new years and I'm excited to get it done and put it up as my first piece of art for 2020. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Your buildings are great!
Y quedo hermosa la ilustracion!! Saludos dsd argentina!! Espero ver los videos de tus vacaciones!
Love the illustration (and the music). You should film what makes you happy. That's why we come here. For Fran. Just no "speed paints" please lol...
Cada día más hermosos tus vlogs Fran
I loved this video, Fran. Have a great time in Tokyo!!! So excited to follow your adventures on Instagram and Patreon
Fran! Thank you for the brilliant idea of painting a cup as secret Santa gift! I am going to do the same thing but for my clients as welcome gift when they book their wedding photography service with me! I am so excited! I hope you a best 2020 and looking forward to seeing more your artwork!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Also, I hope this doesn’t sound creepy but I have been following your channel for a long time and you are my biggest inspiration.
I love how calm your vlogs are. They're very soothing to watch :)
Fran, you have so much wisdom! “I can’t bear the idea of failing...time to face my fears...whatever it is will be” I need to learn to do the same. ❤️
You are a beautiful person Fran and you totally deserve time away. I also felt faced with a lot of insecurities this new year and thank you for sharing yours xx
I love your videos where you paint. Your calm and positivity reminds me of Bob Ross.
I like this quiet video. It’s very relaxing.
I loved this video, Fran. Everything from your nail color to you reminding us and yourself that as long as you’re putting the work in, you are deserving and worthy regardless of if the work is just improving your skills or doing big projects. Happy New Year!! I hope you are enjoying your Tokyo trip because YOU DESERVE IT!!!
Yes, I love these "slow paced calm" videos. I prefer watching drawing and painting in real time. I especially enjoyed this vlog! Thank you for all the time and effort you put into it. Don't forget, "today is the only day" so dont worry, just be happy, you are amazing
I feel you with the fantasy hair struggles, my hair is green right now and some days I'll look like a faded chocolate mint
No worries Fran - always remember that everyone is at different phases of their journey. It’s not a mistake to take the time needed to expand; you know it will pay off in the end ❤️ Thank you for your honesty though. I’m sure all of us that follow ya appreciate that about you. You got this! Much love.
I hear that you are watching MEME MOM Karolina in the background and I love you even more ..!!!
Happy new year Fran! Lovely, relaxing video as always, very interesting to hear your thoughts and see your creative process. May I give you a tip on the background buildings (former building engineer here ;) )? Try to get the same number of floors on the front and the side of the buildings. If you look at the building on the right side of the man, the side of it has 9 floors (windows) above the store front windows, and the front of the building has 8 floors, the lower of which sinks into the stores. Imagine the room behind the windows (floor and ceiling) to see what I mean. Most people probably won't notice in the finished sketch, but I saw the uneven floors happening when you sketched the building. I really liked the sketch of the skateboard girl as well, there was real movement in there!
Usually, when people make a lot of finished pieces they keep inside of their comfort zone. Of course the process is ’quicker’ and ’easier’ if you make art that you’re used to. When you’re learning new things and ways, that’s when it gets harder to do finished pieces. Don’t beat yourself up on that you didn’t do as much as maybe some people did. It’s not your art they are making. You’re taking the time to learn and that’s really awesome ! And also, you’re still making art. Doesn’t matter what kind and how finished or ’instagram worthy’ it is but the most important thing is that you’re still making something ! And even better if you’re learning from it. Loved this honest but chill vlog. And I really like your art style ! The colors are so relaxing and soothing.
Which paint dries and stays on the porcelain cup?
Hey Fran I enjoy every video that you make. You doing a very good job! I have one tip for your hair dying „problem“. I had all the bright color in the past too and know the issue with the durability of these colors. The color DIRECTIONS is a direct hair color and does not use ammonia. Your hair will not be damaged by it. You can apply this color pure, for an intensive result or you can add a little bit of the color to your hair treatment to refresh your hair color. If you use the conditioner with the color once a week, the luminosity of your hair color will be preserved for a long time. Since your hair is very thick and long, you‘ll need at least 3 mugs of the color for pure application (first, new application). Let it set for at least 30 minutes. The longer the better. Wrap some foil around your head to prevent the color from drying. Or ware a shower cap. These are reusable. And please always ware gloves otherwise you‘ll have Pink hands next time. I know that you are a busy women and that it is not easy to put all the stuff that you want to do in one day. Here is what I am doing. I treat my hair during the cleansing sessions in my flat. With that I will have nice hair and a clean flat. Thanks and best regards Janine
I love this type of video! Great music, great content, very relaxing. Thank you!
Disfruta tu viaje. Tu te lo mereces.
You deserve to go to Japan Fran, of course, you do you worked hard and you deserve it
I LOVE your city illustration! I find architecture fascinating when I travel, and I love the vibe of this illustration. I feel like I’m there and can hear the city sounds. I love the colour palette too, it looks so awesome!
Amamos estos videos lentos-calmados fran
Watching your process in "real-time" (not super sped up) was really helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for the video Frann i really like this kind
Amo ver cómo trabajas Fran. Un abrazo desde España.
The work turned out so nicely!
I enjoy the calm slowed paced videos. Def noticed an increase in the quality of the video, very sharp and clear.
Fran! I Completely relate to the imposter syndrome feeling. But don’t forget, live is too short to second guess allot of the things you are doing. Even if you are doing things that maybe are diffrent from other people, or not ‘just as good’ be proud of the process and where you are now. Enjoy it! Don’t forget we are supposed to have fun. Allot of people support you so trust in us that you are doing something good! You don’t have to proof anything to us or anyone, only yourself. And if you want to! We enjoy the illustrations and videos because they are a product of your soul. That’s all. Take breaks. Something I learned in Therapy, everytime you are hard on yourself or are self doubting, replace that thought for something you are grateful for. Example, ‘I really hate my drawings’ replace with, I am happy that all my years of drawing have brought me to this point, sometimes your drawings work out sometimes they dont, thats all part of the beautifull process!
love your work sm
Fran: Do you guys enjoy these slow-paced calmed videos? Everyone: HELL TO THE YES!
Fran, it makes me so sad to hear you feeling bad about not doing a lot of illustrating this year. I have seen so much growth in you as an illustrator this year and as a human being. What you do in your shop with the T-shirts is amazing! I’ve never seen anyone do that before and I wish more clothing companies would. You’re an amazing person and deserve every ounce of success. May 2020 bring even more your and Ed’s way! Love you!!!
I really love your work, and adore your videos. I'm an artist too, and love to work while watching. It's like I'm painting with a friend. Thank you for that.
It's so nice that Ed films you sometimes ! Such nice shots
Also a museum or ☕️ shop sketching video in Tokyo would be wonderful
Also maybe you could additionally to your usual video style (which I adore) try a calm video with music and showing a speedpaint/draw with a voiceover. I like those videos, too.
Love your videos. They are SO calming, relaxing and like a pause from stressful, anxious times of life. Also arts and cats ~ amazing!
Fran: do you like these calm, peaceful vids? Me: yeah Me a moment later, hearing Karolina's voice in the background: *scREAMS*
Oh my God, i love this painting sooooo much ! Even if you aren't at ease drawing buildings, this painting is a success ! Very poetic and vintage at the same time !
I wish i could hit a thousand times the like button. I’m so grateful i’ve discovered you two y and half ago, Thank you thank you for being that honest, that inspiring, that creative etc etc
Dear Fran, I never comment, because I always think that I have nothing interesting to say! (just writing "I love your videos" is not really interesting!). But today, I do! You ask what we like you to show, so for me, I love to see the whole process behind your creation, from the researches to the sketches, painting, outlining.... I love also when you do sort of "vlog in the streets", I can't travel, so it's nice to see abroad trough the eyes of someone you like. I also love to see your cats, because they're so lovely!)! I am a little bit frustrating in this last video because you stop filming when you start your lunch, and, like somebody else on Instagram, I would love to see your vegan meals (they're a lot of it on Youtube, I know, but I want yours!) To end with, each time there is one of your new video, I'm really happy, they make me feel good, and when they're a little bit long, I watch them in 2 or 3 times to have a little bit of this pleasure every day! (Sorry, my english isn't very good (and my spanish is worst!), hope you'll understand all of my message). I wish you, Ed, Cereal and Hamburguesa a very happy new year, take care of you 4! Thank you for what you're sharing!
Your drawing came out amazing! I think it would look really nice as a print. I hope you’re enjoying your Tokyo trip!
Fran - I just love the illustration! It's wonderful. I know you say you hate drawing landscapes and houses, and that you are bad at it but I just love what I've seen of your landscape drawings - I think they are amazing. They really touch something in me. I hope to see more of them
12:17 que lindos colores
washing infrequently with baby shampoo & with cold/cool water helps maintain dyes like pink
Fran te mereces todo, has trabajado muchísimo! Disfruta mucho!!
I think I recommended this before but Overtone makes dye that you deposit in your hair with conditioner so that the color lasts a long time (cause you're adding a little back in every time you shampoo some out). I used it for pastel pink and for rose gold hair. It's vegan and cruelty-free too :)
¿Que pinturas usas por favor? Y gracias de antemano
I love the slow paced step by step painting videos! I enjoy watching other people’s processes, and it’s also really calming. I watch vlogs while I drink my morning coffee and yours are always my favorite!
Lo que usas es pintura acrílica? La moleskine es de un papel especial? Te quedó genial, enhorabuena!
I LOVE these slow paced videos, but I tend to wait until I need them to watch them haha, if that helps. I adore them, but I don't click on them as quickly as I do other videos because I know they'll serve a really awesome purpose in calming me when I know a stressful day is coming up. I thought I'd let you know that, just in case you're noticing they don't get lots of views quickly, others might be like me. I'm not sure if you care about that, but I understand youtube can be a tricky source of income. ANYWAY, love em, love you, love everything, especially the quiet parts without music, omg, bliss
hi fran! i'd loooove to see a what you eat in a day video, i'm a vegetarian but really trying to go vegan, i'd really appreciate some tips, haha love ur videos, xo

Yesss i LOVE these slow-paced videos !!!
Hola Fran! I love this video style - so calming!! I watched it while my toddler napped and sighed a big sigh of relaxation. Love the final illustration too! I struggle with drawing static things like buildings and plants as there’s no jeopardy - drawing a person from life is a race against time that I find much more exciting! However you have inspired me to try - I will attempt some buildings like you now! Hope Tokyo is amazing - went there on my honeymoon and adore it. X
i love your final landscape!
loving you work Fran! enjoy Tokyo & keep the faith ! X
