just a weekly Vlog of our life living in Phuket and running a business here in Phuket a very damp business at the moment Maybelle it was raining yesterday not the best start to the week but we share the reality here on this channel don't we maybe so let's roll the intro and then we're going to take a look around the new and improved maybell's Coffee Garden okay right oh before we do that one morning foreign y Mobile's Coffee Garden and then another day this week I'll show you the the difference it is when it's beautifully sunny uh I can't remember the last time I did a little tour of the garden but here the pink tree has seen better days we're gonna have to do some work on that soon and here the flooding is back not as bad as before but it's here we have one casualty down one cherry blossom tree had to go because it collapsed and we've replaced it with a Bougainville and we're hopefully going to grow that bad boy nice and big let's turn the camera around and I'll show you the garden so the garden is coming on very nicely indeed doesn't look the best in the rain but stuff grows so fast here and obviously I've shown this before we've got this uh bamboo roof just in time we've moved some Cottages here all in line and put some Stone down my idea for having someone a little stage in the middle here and put more Stone down here because it looks a bit bad when it gets so wet so yeah Garland's coming on nicely still a few things to do before the high season redo the love part uh we planted more stuff this is a usual site in Mobile's Coffee Garden huge butterflies I mean huge foreign let's get into the dryness so that's that's a little look around the Garden today we have coming in the process I think I mentioned it before menus so we're going to go to the menu shop well we're not so busy because of the weather and check on the process of the menu I'm hoping by the end of this video we can show the new menus which have been quite a long job taking all the pictures of every dish and deciding what stays and what goes but let me just show something else we have new product line I think I showed this before butcher kombucha mushroom kombucha drink healthy this has been a good seller and we now have some products from the high Supply Company these are infused cookies chocolates sweets yes infused is the word we're going to use here we now have a new man them added to the menu here maybe I was Coffee Garden you know if you if you want to try you can if you don't that's it this is there it's it's there like what's the word it's available if you would like it simple as that up to you I think is the best word to use yeah is there anything else I think that's it for now I want to show around the garden again the flowers and Etc how it's coming on on a sunny day you know the contrast is huge from a wet rainy day to a sunny day ah so now we are on the way to print shop yeah like menu you have to get the menu done we've been there a couple times already and then they said like the quality of the pizza is not right we used canva I said the quality is not good enough for printing and I know also sending it all by email has been we're just trying to do it ourselves to save some costs yeah hey if we get it all done we should be able to get 10 menus for 11 000 Baht yeah we'll show you the menus what what kind we want in a minute yeah yeah see you in the shop I don't know okay we're here let's go and check on the menu it's about rain on the screen okay tell us how you feel now uh stressed this has been a hard job next time I think I'll probably get them to do it all what do you think yeah we've been doing this for ages things aren't right and then now we've got still need to rework a couple of pages but it will be done by the end of this video what do you think okay yeah okay let's go next go next great weather that's Tuesday coming to an end we're just chilling and looking at the beautiful ocean the very rough here between big old waves over there yeah uh today has been completely consumed by menu business right what have we learned just get someone else to do it for you like professional yeah yeah yeah but can cost you like a lot of money like yeah I did not expect that it's gonna cost you that much you know using your iPhone and stuff obviously the images look good but when you blow it up into a menu it's not good it needs to be top quality so you would need a photographer and then they need to keep coming to get every dish yeah and then the design so we've we just worked it out it costs probably around anything up 70 to 100 000 Baht maybe more for some places that have got enough cash we've got hours done it's in the print shop now 11 000 Baht hey let's see how it turns out and it won't be in this video I don't think anyway we've nudged him a bit so next Friday but we'll see you never know keep watching we might just surprise you with our new menu somewhere along thank you okay Tuesday's done call it it's quite welcoming because it's pretty cool uh look at the beach busy today busy this morning it's about quarter past seven surf season baby we're gonna go for a walk around Qatar this place is still closed in Qatar which is right here on the edge of Qatar Beach awesome spot when this reopens I mean you could make this into an awesome business he got a car park for cattle beach in front of your business it's like the car Park's full all the time in the evening you're laughing could be cash rolling in every day in that place I wonder why they've not reopened it but what's happening for the rest of the week now we're going to pick up maybell in a minute and do another thing you have to do when you have a business here the shopping now we have the car we do the shopping all the shopping before I was doing it on the bike and stuff like that it was a bit awkward now we have the luxury of the car to go and get the shopping every day we do this now and oh yeah Friday coming my birthday 46 years old yeah can you tell hello welcome yeah 46 years old on Friday and we're going to celebrate you have to celebrate your birthday eh so we're going to say that's quite profound being on this Earth sit for 46 years are probably lucky I've lasted 46 years the way I've used to be in the past but yeah I love this I love life and I love being you know experiencing life in the last couple of years what I've been doing here in Phuket it's been amazing awesome other people message me and asked me about doing business here I'm going to say look it's not easy but I would never want to put someone off just have to be prepared to go the whole hog and put in the work and survive we did it in the worst time and I want to experience High season without any sort of sandbox restriction BS and let's see how it really is with a proper High season hey if you can make a business work here where you're five months of the year pumping you know hard working hard a bit of hard work is good for you sometimes eh and then you're in a chill out for the rest of the year okay that would be a good lifestyle right work half a year hard the rest chill a bit and get ready for the next season you can make that work I think that'll be pretty good I think the only way to make it work for us we have more than one thing I'd love to do the business here for six months and then go traveling for a few months and then relax for a few months or by making these videos as well anyway I have to go because someone has to go shopping that's the reality let's go okay someone wanted to share this part of our day maybe I think you actually enjoy this part don't you yeah I usually wear your gambling 9 or 8 30. yeah now you've been since we got the car we do all the shopping don't we yeah okay someone's happy she's excited about doing the food chocolate mobile life's doing it right happy when I'm happy when I'm spending money yeah that's what it is typical women right happy when the money's getting blown let's go in and buy ingredients this is where we get all of ours like most of our stuff macro and you don't have to be a member some people think you have to be a member here you don't you can just come in and use it like any supermarket has everything you need price um I think obviously it's cheaper than Western prices They Don't Really compare the prices here as to back home I don't think about it I just buy what we need is actually no when you think about it the meat prawns shrimp and chicken and stuff like that when I compare it back to home it's like much cheaper I'll show you in a minute anyway how could we compare prices let's have a look at something this is my job just push the trolley and follow me about granola stuff like granola is expensive anything that's imported is expensive brown sauce is very expensive but you're every day yeah yeah more expensive than the UK yeah anything that's important we every every day stuff like vegetables meat shrimp cheap well do you need milk milk is a good way to show the price of things of milk in the UK virtually giving it away guys here so we get these big milks 91 bar actually that's probably more expensive than back home 91 bar for two liters two of them the eggs are good we've got to make sure you get a nice uh thank you orange yolk there's your shrimp 265 I can't read that all I know is it works out pretty cheap I'm quite Amazed by the price of beef was expensive because it's mostly imported from Australia 110 per kg of chicken how much is that how much is that so a chicken breast a chicken breast 216 bar now that is cheap I think I work out and I'll put I work out the exchange rate what now boss two dozen of eggs I'll tell you another thing that is expensive cheese any cheese lovers in the house I'm sorry but you're quite expensive for cheese 135 Baht for that hide anything in there mascarpone 255 baht parmesan 175. look at that grated Parmesan cheese 400 baht I think I think they're expensive everywhere how much you think it's going to be all the shopping I have a guess 2 500. 3 000 3 000. Let's see I'll show you how much it's going to be at the end that's a good trolley for almost and how much was it I win did you win 2 300 for a lot of shopping not too bad hey time to go to work and we spend like that every day don't we if not more foreign it's coming surf season is here baby yes that's another day over business okay A bit slow today on it yeah yeah look beach is pretty busy yeah a lot of stuff for high tight looking good the park somewhere and get yeah we're gonna park somewhere Street Food oh look there's a lot of surfers out there today learning I think a lot of people learning but we should be doing mobile when are we going to learn surfing we live next to this awesome surfing Beach right so that's uh my birthday on the 5th of August and then Qatar surf beat on the sixth and seventh of August yeah so we'll have to go there I want me to check that out yes and then we tomorrow we're gonna celebrate yes miss your birthday getting old getting old but young at heart we're setting this up for the surf Festival here probably have music in that right street food along here every day let's go and have a look see if we can see some waves okay look are you budding Surfers out there I don't know much about surfing we've got quite a few people out there there's so many surf schools along this beach one and go for it I guess oh he did well to come out of that wave we got some food let's go come on buddy okay good morning I did say I was going to share uh a day with the sun's out and it just happens the last day this is going to be the last day we're going to round this Vlog up today uh because it's my birthday and we're gonna celebrate tonight uh yeah I said I was gonna share a bit from the garden on a sunny day and hopefully this is the day a few people have asked me if I have any regrets moving here would I recommend moving and setting up business here I recommend moving here 100 and something made me think the other day I'm just walking from where we live to the business uh we couldn't be here the other day we had an appointment to attend in Phuket town and for the first time we had to we had to be there at like 7 30 in the morning so obviously was traveling to phuketown from here joining rush hour and everyone's going to work so that was the first time in a long time I've done this kind of thing I've been here two years now so I've been to our own bosses me and mobile for the last two years and that was me just coming to work you know it took us like 40 minutes to get into Phuket Town sat in traffic uh and it just reminded me of back home you know I worked in London the journey some people make into work is probably one of the worst parts of the day my friends were like an hour and a half two hours sometimes driving to get to the work location crazy you know that is just Madness couldn't stand that and yeah just now what I did was me coming to work took maybe all the 15 seconds so yeah I definitely recommend anyone thinking hey can I go and live in Phuket or should I 100 I recommend it it's not for everyone business-wise there's more failures than there is success stories but for me no regrets 100 happy I'm here and I'm going nowhere I'm staying as long as we can continue to be successful and successful I mean just hey I didn't come here to be rich or a millionaire it's more of a lifestyle choice and a nice little business where you can support yourself and earn money and just keep you know yeah now my daily activity work is to sit with customers drink coffee and make sure everything's running here all right that's about it it's not that it's not that shabby it's not that hard okay and me and greet people that arrive sun's out Happy Days oh and another added bonus of what we do here with YouTube and the shop is that we get I get to meet lots of people every day and when I moved here I said like you know getting away from the Rat Race Escaping The Matrix I think some people are calling it now good morning Mabel good morning happy birthday thank you yeah getting away from it all escaping the rat race The Matrix whatever you want to call it uh and now over the last two years because covered and everything else the people coming are telling me you know like oh wow we really want to I'm meeting lots of people that are moving here because they just want to get away they're like you know everything's going up in price before it you know when I was there I know it was hard and it was just a rat race to pay your bills lucky if you've got a holiday well now it's even worse you know it's almost like all the work the all the governments all I want you to do is just work your ass off until the end of days and then you die so yeah time to get away people find a way out uh who else these are growing in abundance passion fruit no other way around here it's grown all the way from just down here it's going up the lower part they're not ready yet when they are ready I go a bit Browner delicious passion fruit that's uh papaya this grows in abundance if I'm showing you stuff it's growing I bet some of you think I'm going to show you some other form of plant but yeah we haven't planted one of them in our garden as of yet we could do though this is avocado it's not it's kind of growing more papaya papaya grows like crazy here I think I could put a few plants here beginning with m M here look this here my power cook planted this not even that long ago yeah like four or five months maybe look at it it's huge all right foreign right now happy birthday to you happy birthday
