Winter trip to Bern: Grindelwald and the Swiss Alps (part 2/3)
all right I think it's time to reveal the mystery this is our train and as you can see it going to Greenwald Greenville world I don't know this is a really popular ski resort and this is why actually all of this International trains stopped here because it's so popular and many many people interchange here it had interlocking and then they go to Greenville in Beyond I hope I pronounced it correctly just need to listen on board how how it actually how it's actually called yeah so this is the this is the train oh hold on I will get some microphones so you can hear me so as you can see it's uh it's it's really different from the other one and because uh it's operated by another uh rail company it's called burner Oberlin Bond so let's board before it's too late foreign from any original train that we have we can I can check and it also comes with a little map as always and we can see we are at Interlocking and then we should be able to find Grindelwald so this is where it goes really tiny really tiny village and I think you will see more hotels there than actually houses but the main thing of course is the ski resort and then this is our Express that took us here so this is The Interchange in between different rail companies again I think it's a really big really big Advantage for Facebook how they managed to connect everything into one single system I think I've seen something similar in Japan in Japan they also have multiple companies operating the railways but as a customer you don't really feel the difference you just like buy a ticket sorry I need this off you go that's pretty cool so yeah uh so this trip this trip hopefully will be short this is only 36 minutes and then uh yeah we'll be there and in total um this is two hours and 35 minutes from Lucerne to get here and uh we'll probably see a lot of people with ski and snowboards so no wonder why but I checked yesterday and today is still low season so the high season in Greenville starts from the 24th so pretty much in two weeks time a lot of people finally will be on holidays and for the Christmas break uh well probably they've already booked in advance all the fancy hotels and they will be going to Grindelwald uh for a couple days time just to enjoy the the mountains and the this key and then the weather um but nevertheless um I think it should be fun I'm also like looking at the mountains from here it doesn't look too cloudy which is really nice so hopefully fingers crossed will get nice views from there but yeah exciting [Music] foreign [Music] foreign huh foreign [Music] foreign foreign [Laughter] [Music] next stop brinjal part final stop we wish you a wonderful day all right guys here we go welcome to Grindelwald yeah it's definitely -13 but it's okay wow right we really need to catch the bus now because the next one is in like two hours from from now and that really not fancy walking all the way up uh but this is the plan so I'll try to get well not as far as I can but a little bit far to into the into the mountains and then hopefully walk back on foot because again the next bus from there will be in like two hours as well is not good so the bus we need is 122 and uh I do hope I don't know where it stops unfortunately this is 123. oh that's our bus that's that's what we need it's a really fancy name clucy Lucy so convenient so basically take time the bus is so on time so when the train arrives all the buses are here that's pretty cool keep repeating okay no no that's not right that's probably here we go that's what we want thanks is what you do when you write in the mountains right you need the proper chains all right so we've made it almost so right so that's the bus and uh yeah see you at the top should be fun [Music] foreign [Music] you don't want to walk it on your own unless you're like super fit like most Swiss people are for them it's like peanuts if you come from a place where mountains are super rare then probably the bus that's uh that's my personal recommendation for you it's mostly hotels but really really tiny and pretty and I guess we haven't seen all the five stars and probably somewhere at the ground level yes these houses are super old I don't know maybe a couple couple of years obviously would be a bit insane to make in the mountains [Music] Charlie yeah I totally forgot this tiny houses are called Chalet French name for Villa or something like that I'll call them dacha really expensive dacha to me foreign but we actually want to go to the terminal oh yeah that's right yeah so from here we can take any bus back yeah now we have to walk or you can stay in the bus to go back to the yeah I go that way I think you're faster will work the next bus from here yes the next bus is like a couple hours so go from here it's faster yeah so hard thank you [Music] thank you [Music] so folks that's the reason why you take the bus you can go up out otherwise take the bus that's again my and this is guys the almighty Alps look at that welcome to green the world peaceful and quiet [Applause] I will stop hulking we can just enjoy the silence unbelievable so this is breathtaking foreign so here we go our destination check that's the Grindelwald I once saw this on the program there was a TV show on the television called heads and tails if you translate it but they went here during the summer time and I was always wondering like how it looks when there's like snow around and be super super lucky today because we can see the slopes and everything like I'm pretty sure a couple days ago all of that was covered by clouds and we could barely see anything but this is just amazing imagine trying to conquer this like you try to go all the way up and there's a small house there I just don't even imagine how people manage to get all the way to the top right I will uh start get my clothes on because gloves on because it's getting super cold guys this is super cool and then let's walk uh back right let's see how long this battery will last as you can imagine when it's super cold these things don't last really long but let's hope for the best I have a about 30 percent left but it doesn't matter because uh it doesn't get any better than these guys like I can't even find the words to describe ah see when uh when it comes to Mother Nature it's just unbeatable like all of this all right guys believe a note but my phone died in like five minutes so this is like from 30 battery to 10 battery and it just told me uh well I'm about to shut down so rule number one when you go to mountains take a power bank with you this is not just to like make pretty pictures this is for your personal safety especially if you planning to take like uh some extreme trips I would assume all of this uh either like hotels or well just uh someone's Investments I doubt like people live here full time like like unless maybe if you work here or something like that most of most of them they're probably probably like Investments so yeah really really steep it sort of reminds me of lazan remember last time in my previous videos I went to lazan and there I also did the same trick I took the Metro all the way up to the church and then walk down so this is me trying to avoid climbing up in Switzerland because I'm simply not fit for this maybe after some time I will get used to Swiss culture in a way that I can climb mountains and I don't know I have some other superpowers like Swiss people do but right now yeah I'm still getting used to it so I have to uh cheat but it's okay so yeah so you see this is a this is a hotel and people clearly skiing even even here so they just take a slope and go down all right here's the church and I'm back to my original setup with a stick so I'm super happy I can now handle my phone properly the downside is I cannot connect my microphone so I hope you still hear me uh actually yeah I was uh I expected a longer Journey but it only took me maybe five minutes to walk down the church it's not the end still a fair walk here so it's just this cross tree that's a church [Music] all right so we've made it to the city center so as you can see civilization with all the cars the old wearing uh jeans oh especially like a special cars like taxis you see the front and the back wheel are chained which is completely understandable because when the roads are so steep there's no way there's no way around it so that's how you roll a taxi in Grindelwald I must say uh the city is super quiet probably they were right about the low Seasons the low season is probably still the case I don't see many tourists probably people are skiing I don't know but uh it's quiet it's just cars but you know nothing too nothing too crowded like no tourists and stuff like that [Music] maybe it will start in a few weeks time because on the website it's at 24th of December this is when the high season begins so I would expect most uh most people to come over within a few weeks so probably now now they're getting ready for it and preparing all of those fancy Shadows to welcome to welcome your guests by some little souvenirs very nice really Christmasy we can buy a hat the green device oh I'm so I'm so happy to get away from the road like it was so nice and peaceful over there at the top and then hear all these cars let's take a one last view I think that's like the tourist spot take photos and enjoy the views so you see that's a really basic Christmas decorations like I wish I could put a little bit of Lights yeah it's still pretty amazing I really like that slope over here it's like it's a perfect combination of the sky snow and sun yeah I can't even imagine what's the temperature like over there but I would say it's a totally different experience from here from from above this mountains they actually look way different see that cloud at the top like it's covering the mountain a little bit so this is what I would expect two days ago like when it was snowing it was really dark and I'm super super happy actually that today's uh it's a proper it's a proper day sorry I will uh I still depend on my power supply but this is how it is so uh yeah maybe uh come back here during the summer time just to you know to compare but really happy to be here actually to see the snow and to experience the snow I miss it uh like like a proper winter where snow and the cold don't miss it too much like you miss it for a couple weeks then you have like -30 and you say like screw this like I'm coming back but it's okay ah really nice yeah now all I need is a cup of coffee or tea that would be superb just need to find a need to find some place to to stay a little bit to wait out all right let's uh carry on all right so here we are this is where we started remember this is the bus stop and uh that's the train station out there yeah I think those buses uh it's a lifesaver here but a shame that some of them are not running so frequently it's probably because of the low season like uh I checked this bus I took before one to two the next one is uh well in about an hour ish so obviously there's no way I could have waited at the top for like two hours for my bus but to be honest it's not that cold maybe uh I took those Extreme Measures with like three jumpers but it totally paid off in the end so I'm not feeling cold at all super comfortable and I'm super super happy that I took the power bank without it that's it guys like it would be for nothing all of these trips all of this to come to see the almighty Alps and then you arrive there you walk five minutes and then you found dice like that's it Day end oh it sounds a little train station you can wait outside the train so the dead end so the next one is 12 18. it's basically in 18 minutes it's okay you can come back to interlocking and then maybe spend a bit of time over there let's see you know my uh my original plan was actually to go to Interlaken first and then come here but then I when I saw this crazy timetable of buses and then my expectation was like okay uh I'll get to the top but how can how will I get back especially if it's super cold so I decided to go straight here and I think that was the right call uh to be honest uh there's not much to see in Interlaken I mean I tried to find something because people if you live there sorry I didn't want to offend your your beautiful town I'm sure it's really pretty but uh yeah I mean they have two two train stops they have the East the one we we arrived at and they have the West so the West one this is where all the fun is uh they have me grow there and all the restaurants and this but pretty much the city center and the host is more kind of The Interchange station I guess it's primarily used by those uh International trains so they just simply bring the tourists in um so yeah that's another downside like you have to take another train to the West just for the sake of negro and then come back because I'm still I'm still due to go to Baron remember like the whole the whole the whole idea is to stop here but uh actually go burn um so my next train is uh in a few hours actually so I was super super careful with timing this time so uh yeah I need to see I mean I really want to have some hot chocolate or some some coffee and uh reboot and you know probably charge my power bank because it literally saved the day today and then and then uh come back to the East and then from there take the train actually there's a chance to take that German icy train it is totally possible um because all all the trains I guess they go through burn and then they go like uh Zurich how about Hope and then from there to to Germany so also a chance to see how the German train looks like but it's a nice nice to have and I need to be in Burn by four so this is when uh most of the people arrive for the city tour so one of the team members is doing uh a city tour of burn so we will be free riding basically just to see some interesting spots and then after there will be a small Christmas party at the restaurant so finally have some food with fondue and stuff like that so really nice day I'm really really happy today really really nice to uh to see the mountains and uh really enjoy this week's life like the proper one with uh with the snow and the adventures really really nice
