Where the RICH & FAMOUS go on vacation in Brazil
all right check it out everybody welcome to buzios it's friday afternoon and i think during the course of the vlog you'll see all the roadside chairs whether it's pubs or restaurants or cafes all be filled in by locals and tourists and party people of all types because the vibe here in busios seems to be just right so we're only two hours or so from rio de janeiro city which means we're still in rio de janeiro state and uh it feels like we're in a whole different place because the vibe here is totally uh how would i describe it you know what it's sort of posh or luxurious or like bourgeois if you guys remember our florifa series it was very hippy there lots of dreadlocks and tattoos and people having a puff if you remember our short rio de janeiro city series it was very kind of gangsta and rough that people flex in and over here it seems to be pretty bougie so welcome to boujee boozios i should say now we're on a place right now called stone road you can see these massive interlocking stones and so my assumption was um it might have been built in like the 1800s or some historical place but turns out i was totally wrong uh so as you can see it has a real nice unique feel to it although my understanding is it must have been built um earlier or more recently than the 1960s and so the history of busios goes like this there was a french actress named bridget bardeaux she was in rio de janeiro city uh for some reason she explored outside the city and she stumbled into busios uh and at the time in the 1960s there was like nothing here a couple fishermen villages couple fisher huts and like simple you know stores and so she is referred to as the christopher columbus of busios she came here and she sort of discovered it even though there were already people but she made it really popular and she made it what it is today so this whole area called stone road must be my assumption is more recent than 1960 yes although it has this amazing character to it with the big stones uh tons of cool this place looks like it's closed right now maybe it'll be open in an hour but it's called the captain's bar and it's really got some character this is uh pal lots of good looking buildings and so it should be sunset pretty soon and we will make our way to the sort of promenade or boardwalk at the very least and we can really enjoy some of the buzio's vibe there are tons of beaches around here we've been going to one called jean fernandez there you have it only been two months in uh brazil still can't say zhuang i think it's wong anyway we went to this beach many many times and we did notice that first of all super beautiful yeah we love it there the vibe is so much more i love it we laid back and relax and we left our stuff in the chair on the sand and went in the ocean for an hour and we're not worried about anything so we really love the vibe here in busios um and we noticed that most people on the beach were speaking spanish yeah even the vendors uh from argentina from argentina are you from brazil what yeah he was speaking french spanish for sure are you from argentina but we couldn't uh make it work look at this this is called the empanada yeah i'm familiar with are much different yeah it's like a cupcake okay get bananas try it let's try it with uh cheese and chicken mm-hmm yeah that's spanish because then uh portuguese is franco franco yeah like oh or he thought we're spanish speaking how is it it's very flaky huh very dry it's okay yeah all right look at this though that's why we got caipirinha capirinha pogodo con quejo which is like frango conqueso really in portuguese and the beach oh i think someone is about to go on that uh banana boat right there well yeah some group is going on a banana boat yeah it looks fun awesome so we talked to some of them they might be from argentina it seems like we met a guy from chile it seems like this might be the vacation spot for a lot of different south american countries because the beaches are really nice i mean juan fernandez was a really nice quiet relaxing super duper nice oh it was bong pakaramba let me tell you it was super duper bong pakaramba steve you it's good it's good good good friend good friend from sao paulo from sao paulo juliana from minis rice very nice look at this place and so here we are we've walked on stone road uh right down to the main pier this is where we were thinking of getting a boat tour uh to a hell to cabo uh this is the pier there's a little bit of a beach but not really for swimming over here and tons of action so i'm sure as we wander along this beachfront uh we're going to see some live music we're going to buy some surveys or something or something exciting look at this just the golden hour yeah super nice i mean we did see a sunset last night that was like awesome yeah let's see we can see it again today maybe we'll go down and come back yeah there's tons of really nice bars and tons of really good things to do now i do have to tell you a bit of a sad story we were thinking of getting a boat tour from here to a helicopter which is a nearby beach uh series of beaches and islands that are really beautiful but we ended up getting our boat tour from another provider anyway we did the boat tour to a high elder couple and it was really nice we were having a great time we got some good shots we were really enjoying ourselves and ivana lovely ivana made a slight mistake and crashed the brand new drone into the ocean so if you're keeping score at home i have crashed three drones ivana has now crashed ivana has now crashed one drone it's 3-1 is the score right now honestly i feel so guilty i couldn't sleep that night the worst part was we were sharing the memory card from the drone with the gopro so all the gopro footage of the day is gone because the drone is gone with the with the memory card but uh my my idea would be this um i understand i've crashed three drones if i was only crashed one but the one ivana crashed was only six days old so i'm thinking it should count for two points you guys can vote in the comments i think the score should be three two because i crash a lot of drones i don't crash them in the first week ivana i know it was my fault totally my fault i'm sorry it's all good it's all good people make mistakes man no problem but anyway we are without a drone yet again and as you can see this is a beachfront here uh golden hour sun is setting and tons of cool places looking over the water it's so nice super nice and uh we've got the big camera out hello nice guy uh we've got the big camera and the microphone out and we're not feeling uh nervous this is totally safe that quite honestly our entire time in rio de janeiro city we did not do that's just wander with the camera this is some of the best tourist experiences is when you clearly look like a tourist you know what i mean we're amazed by everything and we got a big camera and you just can be yourself you don't have to try to go out of your way to blend in that's right so it seems like buzios is trying to be uh my new favorite spot in brazil although still flurry buff because i love flavors so much that's my first love that was my first part of brazil where i was like wow this is something special really so anyway no need to pick favorites between floripa and uh boozios so we've really got to uh save our pennies ivana because we saw some houses with the drone that were like they're just up here on the hill somewhere they got a swimming pool and they overlook all the busios and i'm like dude talk about living in paradise i wonder what the temperature is in the winter in busios because right now every day has been 30 degrees just absolutely beautiful okay let's check out this bar so we walked past the other day and it sort of reminded me of bali or like an indonesian oh maybe not bali it says buddha maybe more like thailand maybe it's a buddhist inspired not a hindu inspired either way they got some music playing let's go in there and see what we can see have our uh have our first beer of the afternoon ivana just loving it super duper nice bong pakaramba you right ivona all right let's check out this place this is a buddha bar i think it's called super nice lady she says okay okay bring your camera inside photos inside super nice yeah so it's more buddhism maybe thailand oh oh super nice lady she thought she thought i was looking up to look for the fans there's a fan over here sitting over here there's a fan i said no no i'm taking a video oh so nice lady so nice lady so nicely killing it killing it buddha heads all around oh man i'm into it okay uh yeah yo that lady was so nice just to be clear she saw me looking up at the ceiling like this and she's like should i come sit over here there's a fan in the ceiling it's much more cool over here and i was like and i was like no no i'm just looking for a video and stuff super nice lady that was so nice of her wow it looks amazing though can you see it it looks awesome yeah all right let's get a cabarina oh i guess the guy left strong oh i guess the live music is over darn he was on a roll yeah no problem we'll finish our drinks and keep walking you feel like you're in thailand but you're still in brazil all right shout out to buda bar and it turns out this sign does say two caipirinhas for 25. they they just make them double stacked that's pretty good price and so uh no food and then on caipirinha is a questionable decision although we only had one glass each one glass guys it's a strong glass also ivana brought it to my attention that uh i should probably tell you more about agile de cabo because i immediately told the drone crash story and then i ended it but actually we had a four-hour boat tour and we had a pretty great day so ohio de cabo was like an hour from here or at least we took a bus in the morning from like seven in the morning uh about an hour from here and then we hopped on the boat and we met a bunch of friends we all partied they had drinks on a boat naturally caipirinhas again uh really beautiful beaches the color of the water is like they say it's the caribbean of brazil at this point i'm wondering how many caribbeans of brazil there are because i think that's our second or third we've been to although it was really speechless how good it was yeah i think it was the best water i've ever seen in brazil the sand was white the sand was squeaking it breaks my heart still that i broke the drone and then ivana said i'm gonna follow the journal i said go for it and then she crashed right into the ocean no problem two weeks ago i crashed into a tree so uh anyway uh oh statue here this is a funny statue ivana it looks like uh oh you know what it is it's the christopher columbus yeah absolutely this is must be bridget barneau funny we passed a couple times we never noticed this before you want me to put my hat on the statue is it right he wants this oh maybe it's going to break though no just sit here okay okay don't run away okay take a picture yeah i think his phone it makes it fair to you he wants to sit with uh bridgette bardot who is the christopher columbus of uh he wants to wear the hat he's going to destroy the curve no problemo tap on bro looks good look good yeah come on sunglasses yeah more better what though more better oh you say hold oh gosh what's happening yeah i'm waiting hello hello hello yeah no no hola this is what always happens in life once once you have a drink by the way all the crazy stuff happens this is the statue of rigid bordeaux this is christopher columbus of buzios you have one caiparina and the next thing you know it's total madness uh there was a brief second where i thought he was he was going to run off with the hat and i go is he stealing this hat he's got no clue this hat is worth nothing you know i think he's a little bit like us his head like yeah two or three countries i think he might have dabbled in a caprena today uh the problem is this hat was given to me or given to us uh by our friends so the actual value of this hat is so low but the sentimental value is so high i would have ran after him for the hat it's not worth a dollar and i would have ran after him for the hat oh my gosh what a place to be wondering everyone's coming out it's starting to fill in and uh this is what is this place oh it's called a it's called a hospitality hotel uh looks amazing looks really amazing fantastic okay vaughn i think it's time for dinner dude because we're out here talking to strangers and and i think it's time to buckle buckle down and get to dinner take a shot of this uh all right sunset next stop dinner three two one dinner all right guys so we've made it back to uh stone road obviously ivana be honest would you have let that happen hey let me borrow your hat in rio de janeiro the city the city in the city i feel like noah i would be too nervous the vibe somehow the feeling there is just totally different yeah here somehow we trust that guy like he's okay there's still interesting characters all around sometimes i could be considered an interesting character i've been known to be a little nutty right but it's just not an aggressive vibe it doesn't feel uh it doesn't feel like he was gonna run off of my hat no no no no no but this is a great place to wander eight plus wandering no ivana he was wandering everything made out of stone on the ground a bunch of tables around and little lights hanging around giving a really nice lighting effect all sort of gently glowing and tons of smiling faces lots of restaurants lots of restaurants lots of bars lots of action let's go to that one across the street you want to go there yeah yeah it looks great doesn't it with the uh with the almost like a boat with the boat windows the little circles like a sailor like a sailing boat and then they got i think they actually have a pusada on top they might have a accommodation on top there's like doors up there oh that might be wrong either way let's see super nice place to hang out oh my gosh ivana you drive two hours to rio de janeiro city and you can never walk around with a camera like this great thank god though right there ivana sounds good we want to sit over there everyone on the walls better on the wall over there on the wall yeah over there more better ivana more action over here more interesting over here over here it's okay sorry that guy's like hey man make up your mind over here much better i know yeah much better some squid uh lula yes fried eating squid always reminds me of floripa floripa yeah we had it every day yeah and we had a squid party yeah squid party absolutely the best i think there is another dish coming like the rice it's called greek rice i don't know is it from greece maybe it's got feta cheese look at the action behind you so nice look at this so great i love it here man i really love blue joe's yeah up there with floripa top quality brazilian travel destination sorry about business yeah top quality five here kind of reminds me of ilia bella a little bit of idea bella five like similar five yeah uh maybe right yeah certainly different vibe than floripa i just mean awesome yes similar to flavor in awesomeness not in vibe but i love it i really love it all right thanks for watching our video guys hopefully rice is coming yeah with like beans or like potato frittas or something flames flames flames not too spicy perfect mucho bomb all right five stars say it in state in portuguese oh no what is it cinco estrellas so nice enjoy thank you so we thought we ordered this with rice uh we only got one of the lula so then we just tried to mention hey we wanted some rice in which case they brought another lula and in the rice i don't know if we're gonna pay extra for the squid i don't know how the payment structure is gonna be go with the flow go with the flow yeah miscommunication all right i think this is brazilian pudding and i think it's for free because they messed up our order i love it in the beginning but super nice of them yeah super nice of you yeah and the food is amazing so i'll come back here again what a great night what a great night and shout out to the people working here because uh the bill we paid was exactly what it should have been despite the potential mess up this is the restaurant name maestro david uh would you say it's mr or master what would you guess mister mr david no master day i'm saying highly recommend it highly recommend it we did have a bit of a miscommunication but in the end the price that we paid was exactly what we thought it would be and they gave us free charge us extra or anything they didn't charge us extra or anything bregado bregado really really nice staff and so now it is 8 p.m and that's about bedtime for us this is the perfect night for the over 30 crowd we start at five p.m we do three hours of partying and drinking we go back at eight o'clock a couple glasses of water because tomorrow is important and uh and uh and that's life no yeah kind of great yeah i love it i absolutely love it they start to have uh carnival decorations as you can see it seems like everybody's coming out to party now as so we tend to always do this we we party until the party starts then we leave because another thing i see a lot of this is a random thing one piece bathing suit more often here than anywhere else in brazil it's more and uh not as tiny bikinis uh so you're you're maybe saying this is more of a spanish uh the argentinian potentially influenced not the uh not the dental floss bikini right right good point and so if you're looking to party guys this is the place because it's eight o'clock now it's just starting to liven up although for us we're going to call it a day because uh we're old and we'll keep it safe yes keep it safe straight donut uh street uh donuts maybe homemade and handmade yeah i think so actually the vibe safe friendly lively party people exciting interesting you want us got more stuff decorations supposed to be the carnival weekend this weekend but so yeah carnival's been cancelled but there's still going to be people who booked it in advance and they're coming anyway right so it might be more lively than usual although it's certainly not as lively as carnival it was real carnival
