And just like that, we made it back to one of my favorite islands in Indonesia, Sumba Island. What's up, my love? Are you excited to be on the island? - Yes, very excited! - How excited are you to be on Sumba? - I feel like we're in the middle of nowhere. - We are. Jacky...

It's been too long. How are you? - You? - Good! Aww... Welcome to Sumba, Susanne.

- Welcome to Sumba. What a warm welcome back on the island. Being back on Sumba island feels like coming home to me.

Jacky and his friends are slowly becoming my family too and after they picked us up, we immediately went adventuring around the island, but first things first, lunch. Guys, welcome to Weepeneba Lagoon! Woo-hoo! We have like friends here, it's so funny. Hello! - Hello! - Hello! - Hi! Hip-hop. - Hip-hop. - Oh yeah, you are a dancer. So this lagoon is the first stop of our trip, and I'm so excited to be here.

Look in the back, you can see how clearly blue the water is and how beautiful, crystal clear it is. I am so, so excited to be here. There are a few local people swimming here and that's it. Absolute paradise, if you ask me. Tara is loving the locals here as well.

She's having a good time of her life. Oh, okay! He has hair on his key. Is it Ayam (chicken)? - Horse. - Horse? - Yeah! - Horse? - Yeah! - Can I see? Horse hair.

Wow! - Wow! - Wow! - We're gonna jump in here. I'm actually scared. - I'm nervous. - Same. It looks not so high, but it is really high. - It is really high. - Are you ready, girl?

- Oh my god, let's not talk about it too much. - Exactly, I can't look at it too long. I'm like, eh...! - Alright! Oh my God! - Welcome to Sumba! Oh my God! This place is what dreams are made of. This is so serene and so beautiful.

Wow! You mermaids. Wow! Like the true adventurers we are. Jacky and I climbed there, it was actually really difficult to come up here.

I thought there would be water here, but there's not. It's just a cave with only bricks. So we're going to go back now. But it was definitely worth the adventure walking around here. It is time to go from here and I'm so sad to leave, but this was beautiful. How nice was it? - Nice, very nice.

- Very nice, very nice, very nice! And now we go to the next spot, here we go. And from one lagoon, we go to another one and this is a little bit more famous and guess why? Look at this, like the colors here are insane and look at all the locals playing in the water here. This is absolutely magical and this couldn't be more clear blue. There is such a stunning color here.

It is so beautifully crystal clear and really big and it's actually super close to the ocean as well. This definitely has to be one of my favorite places here on the island. The color of the water, look what I mean.

Here you can see the beautiful glistering as well and everyone is playing, such a vibe. I am in love, love with this place. Wow! It is time to go for a swim. I literally cannot wait to be in this water because it is so crystal clear blue. Oh my god! And I almost fell. Let's go and find my friend.

This day has flown by. It is crazy! It is sunset time, as you can see behind me. We are right now actually in a different spot.

It is so beautiful. We stopped alongside the road to witness this gorgeous sunset. We have endless ocean view.

The sun has the most beautiful colors ever. We have a little lighthouse here, which is actually not working and we can't go in there, but that's fine. - This thing it is not our lighthouse, but it is a watchtower.

- Watchtower. So it watches us. - Yeah! It says Menara Pemantau, so it's a watchtower.

- Watchtower. - Yeah! - And it watches the waves. - Yeah! - Okay! - And then the tsunami. - Oh, okay... - Yeah! - And I think the best thing about being here in Sumba...

is always connecting with the locals. These people are so, so amazing and so beautiful. And I always try to have as many local interactions as possible and we have this beautiful family here. They even brought their baby out of the house. They are so stunning.

And while the sun is setting, we're going to enjoy this moment together with them. Good morning, beautiful people! - Hello! - Good morning! Pagi! - Selamat Pagi! - How are you today? - Amazing! - We feel wonderful. - Wonderful. - Yeah!

- Okay! - And then this is also a wonderful day. - Wonderful day. - Yeah! - Yay! Woo-hoo! Oh, yes! Let's go sister's.

The spirits are high, it is day two, it is time to start this adventure. We are all super excited for this, so let's go! We got out of the car and right now we made it to Jacky's house. As you guys know, Jacky is such a good friend of mine. His brothers is also my family. I love them so much. His wife actually has her own baking shop here, so we are trying some sweets here and Jacky has his own clothing line.

So we are buying t-shirts and it's so much fun. I love being with these people. This is what we bought, the hat.

Look how cute. And this beautiful t-shirt with Sumba. I love this. Oh my God, this is so cute! - Alsan.

- Alsan? No! Is it really Alsan? So, Alsan and I met one time and after that we never saw each other again because he's always too busy. And guess who just showed up? Mr. Alsan. Hello! - Hello! Nice to meet you! - Hi, Alsan! - Hello! - How are you? Oh my god, I love this! - SUMBA... - Oh, yeah!

- Sumba made by nature, baby. - Welcome to Sumba! Jacky, what do we have here? Can I take it out? Samurai. Oh my God! Only in Sumba.

What do we use it for? - For... - To cut the wood? - To cut the coconut. - Cut the coconut. That's what they use it for.

Nice! Let's not give this to Tara. Okay, I'll give it back to you. - Your friends... - Hello! So cute.

There's school kids everywhere around the house here, look. How are you? - Good! - What's your name? Oh, nice! Nice to meet you! - Yeah! - What's your name? - Susanne! - Thank you! - Okay, see you! Bye! - Bye! - Look who we have here. Hello! What? Nice! 11 years old. - Yeah! - Oh, okay! You know the Netherlands? - Yeah! - Nice! - Yeah, Memphis Depay... Wow!

Nice! They know Memphis Depay; it's like a famous football guy. Look at them, they're adorable. They're 11 years old. I love that. - Bye! - Bye! See you! - See you! - See you! Bye! Bye! We made it to the beginning point of our walk to somewhere very special. And we have a whole group of people today, so it's going to be a lot of fun.

- I tried to get away. - I know. This is today's group. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight...

Yay! And we are reunited with Smith again. It's been a long time. We brought it... - Parang. - Parang? - Yeah! - Parang, okay! We brought it with us this time. Always good to have.

Traveling with this much people can only mean so much fun. And we're now facing the first hurdle already. We have to duck under this thing here. And I fall before I even reach it. She's having the time of her life. Okay! Welcome to Sumba island.

The sweat is dripping off me. It's crazy! Hi, guys! Oh my god! It is so beautiful here, the color of this water. This is true fairytale land. Wow! This is true fairytale land.

Look at this. Wow, there are butterflies everywhere. Oh, what is it? Oh, it's water. - Yeah, but you can see a little bit... - Oh, yeah! Oh my god! So what do you guys have? - Stinging nettles.

- Stinging nettles. I've never heard of it, but it stings so much and I think we're now maybe one hour further into the jungle. As you can see, we are in the middle of nowhere and it is hot, hot. We're now trying to take it off.

Poor girls have it. Luckily, I didn't have it, but these two have it. It's super painful and we're a little bit in a time crunch to trying to do this as fast as possible, but it is very difficult and hot. Oh, he has it as well. It's very painful and it's very stinging.

Half of the group has it. Half of the group doesn't. And as you can see, we are walking through water. Half through water, half through this. I don't even know what to call this anymore.

It's just rocks and water and we're now at the point where we're getting a little bit tired and there's actually a little bit thunder that we're hearing and we have to walk exactly the same way back and it's also funny because there are two guys in the front, they are with their machete trying to make a way for us because not many people come here. And here's my good friend Mr. Smith. - Hello! - Hello! Can I join you? - Yes! - Yeah, I know. I have a scratch here.

Me too. And I'm like red. Merah (red). - Merah, yeah! - I can't, I'm so tired. Look at Smith's shoes. They're wet. - I came three times.

- Three times? Come here? With these shoes? - Yeah! - Yeah, you want these? - Yeah! Nice! Love the Indonesian logic. - Local Indonesia. - Yeah! This is not the best thing to do with a backpack. That's like 12 kilos.

Look where we are, nevertheless, it is so beautiful. I'm just choosing the water side. We got this. Oh yeah, look at all these adventure people. Loving life.

We think we made it after such a tough journey, but we think we see the entrance which is right here, look at this... Oh my god! We are in this beautiful... I want to jump in here later. - I want to go as well.

- Right?! We deserved it. And then look all around here how absolutely gorgeous. Here we have the path. Well, kind of path. And then that's the entrance of the cave and it goes up so high. I can't believe we made it.

I'm so curious what it's going to look like inside. Oh my God! I don't know if this translates on camera, but this cave is huge. I see so many bats flying around and it is beautiful inside. In the backdrop you can see the greens.

Oh my God, and we're now walking towards it. Yeah, same! It's so intense, so intense. Here you can have a glimpse of the cave.

It is insane... how beautiful this place is. And in the middle of nature, we couldn't be more remote at the moment. I'm happy we are with the big group and that we are well prepared because if anything goes wrong, no one can come here to save us, but I absolutely love this. I think this is so, so beautiful and right now it is time for a well-deserved lunch because we are dying.

My favorite! - Yeah! Aww...! Oh, I love it. It's my favorite song, guys. So we are a little bit later, you cannot even see me and we got ambushed by a huge rain/storm, and as you saw before, it is so dangerous to be out here.

One of the guys just told us that his uncle died here two years ago because it would be so slippery and weather can change quickly. That is why we're basically running back. Here you can see everyone and it is raining, raining, we're not prepared for it, and we have a huge hike to go back. So we left all of a sudden and we're now fighting for our lives to make it back before it's dark and before this huge rain storm is coming in.

So wish us luck. Jacky is a singer now. What do we have here, Big Moss? I thought it was mangosteen. How? The whole thing? - Yeah! - I spit them out? - Yeah! - Good? - A lot of seeds, though. Oh, yeah! Nice! Oh, that's adorable.

This is for cooking? - Yeah! - Oh my god, look at that. Oh, and the little bowl and the spoon and the plate. - Yeah! - Aww! Is that from the guy that we saw before? He lives here, right? Yeah, he lives here. So cute. We deserve this.

We're gonna swim in here, this is fairy tale land. It is still thundering, but we don't care, we're all gonna swim in here. And so after these two crazy adventure days filled with so much laughter, exploring and enjoying ourselves, I completely forgot to film an outro for this video because I was so tired.

So thank you so much for watching this video and part two of the Sumba adventure will be out very soon. See you!
