Today we are going to a village near Tiptur We are visiting the Akshayakalpa Farm We are visiting their plant and see how they manage Its a 2 day tour We are going to visit Akshayakalpa farm dairy This place is around 180km from Bangalore They provide a tour of the farm This experience does not cost anything We have taken the Kunigal highway We stopped at Kamadhenu Hotel for breakfast We took Idli Vada and Poori. The taste was good This was the 2nd restaurant on the way. We didn't stop at the 1st because of the crowd We turned right at Hirisave towards village road We crossed Niggehalli to reach Kodihalli where the farm is located The route is also scenic. We took 3-4 pitstops for photography It takes around 3.5 hours to reach Akshayakalpa from Bangalore
We reached Akshayakalpa by 10:15am.This is the main gate There is sufficient parking space It took 30 mins for registration There is a guide who takes us through the area She explained what all has been grown here The farm area is around 200 acres It has Cowshed, Dairy plant and Organic farm The people who work here are from nearby villages. A good way to provide employment The plant is on the right side but there is no permission for us to visit that There is a veterinary clinic on the right side Treatment is given to the cows when needed There is a waiting area for the guests and we were taken there We had to wait for a few families to arrive The staff and guides are very friendly here This is the Kalpa Kuteera waiting area They have displayed all products in the refrigerator Mr Uday briefed us about the place and the events Tea and Coffee was arranged for the guests on arrival Glasses and cups are provided, but the guests need to wash them after use The first activity for the day is the bullock cart ride They will take us on a bullock cart ride and now they are preparing for that After resting for a while we are ready for the ride There is another family along with us on this ride The route is surrounded by banana plantations Kids will enjoy this experience Its a different experience outside city life The cart will take us to the tent area where we will stay tonight After having coffee this is the bullock cart ride These are the tents where we will be staying We are turning back here We just got down to see the tents The tents are looking good They have pitched around 10 tents The common bathroom area is on the left side We have chosen this tent There is a small pond as well This is the bathroom. Its clean and basic We are heading back from the tent area We are stopped for tender coconut break There is a key to create a slot for drinking tender coconut water Let me try now Finally done The coconut water is very sweet We are heading back now towards Kalpa Kuteera We did the bullock cart ride, another family has gone for the ride now. Later we will see the next programme Lunch was getting ready by 1:45pm This is the lunch menu, completely organic We have some rolls too Pumpkin curry Food is tasty and is completely organic grown locally in the farm We are now looking at honey bee rearing They showed how they extract honey here We are heading towards fodder area now We have to wash our feet here to get rid of any germs They just explained how they feed organic food to cows too We are heading towards vegetable organic farm now This is the peppermint leaf, acts as a mouth freshner Okra/Ladiesfinger Mr Nagesh explaining about the farm We can also purchase vegetables/plants here Next up is the milking process at 4:30pm The milking process is completely machine based As per their explanation the machines are less irritating for the cows We had our evening snacks. We are checking into our tents now Our luggage was transported from our vehicles through the bullock cart Lets go inside the tent The inside area is completely enclosed to protect from mosquitoes and rains There is a foam at the base 3 people can easily sleep inside the tent They arranged a beautiful campfire also at night as it was not raining We went for dinner at around 7:40pm at the cafetaria After having light dinner we went to sleep It rained the whole night and the morning was very fresh and saw water gushing out at several places The tent area was also slushy but it was dry inside the tent Tea was served at around 7:30 with organic bread which was locally made Organic bread was good. We are going for a farm walk now This is the bio gas unit They explained what all they have grown in the farm We had our breakfast after the farm walk Breakfast was good. Palav, leafy vegetables and fruits were served Village games were arranged very well. Archery, Catapult, Shotput and other games Flying rocket from the leaves from the coconut tree Different local crafts for kids were demonstrated using coconut leaves City people are not aware of such activities. Very enriching experience They also showed how they climb coconut trees. Looks easy but it needs a lot of practice
After village games there was food sampling. Organic bread, cheese, cardamom and carrot milk and diffferent varieties of cheese These will be launched soon Lunch was served soon after. Ragi Balls were a speciality this time This was the end of our event. Luggage was transported through bullock cart.
