Touring the Highest Luxury Penthouse in Los Angeles
- What's up everybody, it's Enes here, and welcome to another episode. Today, we're looking at the breathtaking views of Los Angeles and going to tour this 51st floor duplex penthouse located at the Ritz Carlton Residences here in Downtown Los Angeles. This penthouse features three bedrooms, three-and-half bathrooms, 6,600 square feet of interior space, and it is currently being marketed as an off-market listing for $12 million.
As always, we will leave more information about the unit down in the description of this video. And before we start our tour, I want to thank the listing agents, Ansel Kim and Mauricio Umansky for getting us in here and allowing us to tour their amazing listing. And now let's begin.
(upbeat music) All right, everyone, here we are at the entry. Nice spacious hallway that takes you to the formal dining room area. Beautiful dark hardwood floors throughout.
We have some built-ins on the left, birch wood paneling throughout. And there's actually a paneled-in door here that takes you to the powder room. Same hardwood floors are also here. We have a floating vanity design with this fabricated countertops, corner drain, chrome fixtures.
And I really like these wall sconces attached on top of the mirror design. And if you follow the pattern, it goes all the way up to the ceiling, which is a really neat detail. Mosaic tile on the walls. It's just a nice, cozy powder room off of the entry. Now I want to take everybody back to the hallway and go straight to the formal dining room area. This is the first thing you see when you walk into this penthouse.
We have the amazing views of Los Angeles all the way to the Pacific Ocean. You can literally see the planes landing and taking off from LAX. We're so high up, I mean, it is stunning. And right in the center on this floor we have the dining area, table for 10. Chandeliers above, beautiful open space.
And on the right-hand side, we have the staircase going up to the second floor. And on my left-hand side, we have a nice divider wall with the same wood paneling. And next to that, we have the formal living room. Let's check it out. Space flows towards this side. And again, now we're looking at south and west view corridors.
It is so spacious, I love the ceiling heights. You have your built-in speakers, recessed lights. And of course, throughout the unit on both floors, we have automatic shades and blackouts, which is always a nice detail to have.
And Mikey, I may be wrong on this, but I think this is the first high rise we have ever toured here in Los Angeles. - [Mikey] It definitely is. This is insane. I've never seen views of Los Angeles quite like this.
And we're really high up in the air, obviously. Like it feels like kind of a New York high rise, and I don't usually associate these with Los Angeles. - 51st floor, I mean, we were definitely high up. And I want to say, weather is pretty good today. It's not perfect, but again, you can see all the way to the Pacific Ocean. You can see the layout of the entire city.
I mean, that's Hollywood Hills, Trousdale, Beverly Hills, all the way to Hollywood sign, this is phenomenal. And this is your formal seating area. Now, right next to that, we have the kitchen. Island in the center with dual elevation, bar seating, pendant lights above. I like the contrast between the wood countertops here and the travertine countertops on the island and the base cabinets. You have your dishwasher here.
Nice gloss cabinetry throughout. Sink is on the island. And Mikey, we need to get a close up, because I know these look like paneled-in fridge and freezer, but... - [Mikey] Oh, wow. - There you go. Espresso maker, microwave.
And you have your paneled fridge and freezer here. Base cabinets, Gaggenau gas cooktop with a Gaggenau vent above. Same travertine countertops are also used as a backsplash. It is not the biggest kitchen, but it is well proportioned and you have everything you need here. And lastly, your regular oven and your steam oven.
Now, Mikey, let's take everybody this way. I keep looking at these views. It's hard to not pay attention to. Now, we have a built-in closet here. Hallway takes us back to the entry, but first I want to bring everybody this way because we have this door opening up to the first guest suite.
This is the smallest bedroom in the unit, but again, you still get phenomenal views. Hollywood sign, the entire city. And I love that your bed is pretty close to the window assembly here. It feels like a movie.
I mean, this is phenomenal. And I feel like half of the video today is gonna be just us talking about the views. - [Mikey] Yeah, they're really nice. As Enes said earlier, all of the windows in this apartment have automatic shades. So really cool to have.
- These are not only shades, you also have blackouts. And Mikey, let's get a close up. I love this, they are proper blackouts.
They actually have tracks. That way, the edges are nicely sealed so you don't have any light seeping. - [Mikey] I like that. - You have the king-size bed here.
I mean, this is phenomenal. And Mikey, let's show the bathroom. We have a pocket door taking us to the bathroom for this unit. You have a huge soaker tub, again, clad with travertine. And to benefit from the natural light coming into the unit, we have a frosted glass assembly here. That way, the natural light can even light up this bathroom.
Floating vanity design, toilet around the corner. Good size bathroom. Now I want to take everybody back to this smaller hallway. We have additional storage closet here, and now we're back at the entry.

And now let's continue our tour. All right, Mikey, now let's take everybody to the left wing. We have the staircase here going up to the second floor, because we mentioned it earlier.
This is a duplex penthouse, which means it consists of two floors. Again, even the staircase has a beautiful modern design, glass railing to allow natural light to travel throughout the unit. Now we have the elevator here going up the second floor, which means this unit actually has its own elevator. And let's check out the secondary seating area.
It's all open, we have the L-shaped couch here, TV on the other side. A lot of these sleek built-ins that we're gonna see throughout the unit. Nice ceiling-mount bubble chair. We don't see these quite often. It's a nice contemporary detail. And I also like this light fixture here, lighting up the center of the seating area.
And now we're looking towards the south and east view corridors, this is phenomenal. Down below us, we have Downtown Los Angeles. And I feel like, at least for me, this area or this part of the town is not really that explored. And I feel like I don't come here that often, but it's super exciting. We have all these high rises here, city's moving, it's an exciting area. - [Mikey] Yeah, I came down here to see a movie, Rooftop Cinema Club, it's really cool.
That was the first time I'd been downtown in maybe like six years, but it's a really cool spot, and I'd love to come down here more. - I love it that we talk about an area where it's like literally 30 minutes away from our home like it's two hours away. It's not, it's like only 45 minutes away from Beverly Hills, maybe, tops.
- [Mikey] If any of our audience doesn't live in Los Angeles, then you don't know, but everything here is dictated by traffic. And it's just intimidating the thought of driving downtown sometimes. - Sometimes. All right, Mikey, I want to show one more thing.
Down below us we actually have the Staple Center, which is super cool. - [Mikey] I believe they changed the name recently. - That's actually true, what's the name? - [Mikey] The Crypto, Crypto.com? - No, no, Crypto.com Arena, you're right.
But again, you're right in the heart of the action. Super, super cool. - [Mikey] Actually, if you look closely, they're actually taking the Staples off of the roof right now. But I guess there was S on there earlier, there's not anymore. - There's not anymore. All right, Mikey, let's actually take everybody this way. Another detail I want to point out.
Right underneath the staircase, we kind of have this like gravel rock design with the travertine steps, and right behind the secondary seating area we've got this gorgeous piano. And next to that, we have the office. Now, I want to cover some of the details here.
Obviously, we have the beautiful wood paneled back wall with some open shelving, drawers on the bottom, desk set up right in the center. And we've got to show this detail. Now, we have some open shelving and built-ins here, but if you move this barn door, which is nicely attached to the ceiling, you actually have a wet bar here, conveniently located, small fridge, sink. This is awesome. And I want to bring a point here. This is a bit unconventional to have the office in an open setting like this.
And Mikey gets into arguments with me all the time about us running our operation from our living room. But the way I look at it is that living room should be the area that you spend the most amount of time. I spend most of my time working, which means I want my living room to be my office, because that's what I do the most. - [Mikey] First off, we don't really have a living room anymore. We just have a series of desks in an open room.
And yeah, it's right in the main kind of thoroughfare of our apartment, you could say. But yeah, if I want to watch TV, I do it in my room. - That's right, at least we make a good use out of it. So that counts. - [Mikey] Same for you, though.
You watch TV in your room, too. - That's right. All right, now we have this pocket door opening up to the wine cellar. I love the open steel shelving details that they have throughout. Everything is beautifully lit up, nicely staged. And it's a good size room.
We have the temperature control around the corner. And you wouldn't expect a space like this out of a 6,600 square foot penthouse, but they have it with this unit which is awesome. Now I want to take everybody back to the entry, to the staircase, and while we go there, I want to briefly talk about some of the design elements and the features of Ritz Carlton Residences. Like we mentioned, located here in Downtown Los Angeles, 54-story building, and this unit is located on the 51st floor, which is the highest floor unit available. And you have 24-7 room service, valet parking, everything you need, you have your spa, gym, outdoor pool area.
I mean, literally, you have everything you need here covered within your HOA. - [Mikey] Didn't you tell me earlier that every morning for the residents they have a full buffet breakfast also? - I don't know about buffet, but I think they have a continental breakfast, correct. Which would be awesome. Imagine if we lived here. - [Mikey] It's like your dream.
Whenever we travel anywhere, y'all don't know this about Enes, but he has to book a hotel that has breakfast included, no matter how good or bad the breakfast is. - That's right, you've got to have it covered. - [Mikey] That's right. - I like to make less decisions in life and get to the point. All right, that's it for the first floor.
Now we're gonna take the stairs and go check out the second floor. (upbeat music) All right, everyone, here we are on the second floor of this penthouse. We have two bedroom suites on this level. First one starts right here. And this room is super spacious. We have the king size bed on the right-hand side.
I love this lounging chair right next to the window design. And this is your junior primary bedroom suite. And it's definitely good size. Has the same hardwood floors that we've been seeing throughout.
Your TV's on the other side. Of course, you have your shades and blackouts. And the views are phenomenal. You're facing the east and south. I mean, this is great.
Mikey, can we show everyone the views on this side? I honestly don't even know some of the mountains that we have on the back. And again, we're so high up it's almost like a new view for us. - [Mikey] Yeah, from our neighborhood, the air is not usually clear enough to see the mountains, but I always see these photos of Los Angeles with mountains in the background, and here they are. - Here they are, phenomenal. All right, this room also has a little dining area right off the entry. I love this art installation on the wall here, walk-in closet on this side.
And this door opens up to the spacious bathroom. We have the built-in tub set up here, clad with travertine. And I love that it's located right next to the window assembly, that way you can just sit down here, relax, enjoy your shower and great views. - [Mikey] Exactly. - Walk-in shower, chrome fixtures, good size. The same mosaic tile that we have on the walls goes all the way in.
You have your floating vanity design here with two sinks, chrome fixtures, LED-lit mirror. And around the corner, you have your water closet. I mean, good size bathroom. And even this bedroom, I feel like they could have easily created two bedrooms out of this space, but they ended up going with this one spacious layout. Now, off of the staircase, we have the elevator access on this level. And following this hallway, we have this opening on our right-hand side leading us to the laundry room, and this massive barn door takes you to the primary bedroom suite.
Now, this primary bedroom suite is really special. First off, you have your wet bar here, another barn door. You have your fridge on this side. And I want to open the other side real quick as well, Mikey.
You have additional cabinetry here. And when I looked at the photos of this unit initially, I thought this was, again, kind of a living room on the second floor. It's not, it's all part of the primary bedroom suite.
It is so spacious. We have this divider wall right in the center with the built-in TV. Even the wood paneling here is actually vein matched, which means all the lines are actually following each other.
All these are cabinet drawers. And you have the seating area here, nice and open, facing the south and west. You have a small table set up on the back, couch set up right here, all dedicated for the primary bedroom suite. Now, right on the other side of this assembly, we have the bed setup, king size bed. I love the feature wall in the back with two ceiling-mount light fixtures.
Has a nice warmth to it. And the bed is slightly elevated with LED lighting underneath. And I don't know if we mentioned this detail earlier, but each one of these rooms, the window assembly has a casement design on the bottom so you can bring some natural ventilation to the space. - [Mikey] Yeah, they had these all over the bottom floor also. We didn't talk about them, but if you want some fresh air, you can always open those.
- That's right. Now, we covered the bedroom, we covered the seating area. By the way, we have a water feature right off the entry for the bedroom.
Sets a nice tranquil vibe. And going here, we have this door opening up to the bathroom. Now, Mikey, I want to show everyone, the moment you walk into the space, look at these views. It is phenomenal.
I mean, you have your built-in tub set up 'right in the center, and these views are breathtaking. Mikey, can we get a close up? We have the Hollywood sign. You can actually see all the way to Los Feliz and Silver Lake. You have the entire Hollywood Hills all the way to Trousdale, Century City, Pacific Ocean, Hollywood, you see it all from here. This is phenomenal, I've never seen L.A. like this. - [Mikey] Yeah, my lens is a little bit wide for y'all to be able to see it, but it's all there.
- Absolutely, this is stunning. And we have the walk-in shower here, super spacious, glass tile throughout. You have your rain head above. Another massive picture window assembly, that way, even in your shower, you can benefit from the views on both sides. Now, I want to go back in. You have two floating vanities with waterfall edge, the same glass tile that we saw in the walk-in shower, they have it as a back wall here.
Chrome fixtures, very elegant, very timeless. And around the corner behind this frosted glass we have the water closet. Now I want to take everybody back to the hallway. We've got a few more rooms to see. At the end of the hallway, we have the first walk-in closet. They're extremely spacious.
Same hardwood floors are also here. And like I mentioned earlier, the owners are currently occupying the space, so I don't want to go in too much, but they're definitely good size. Around the corner we have the second walk-in closet. Let's have a quick look at that. This one is a little bit smaller, but still a good size considering the fact that this unit is only 6,600 square feet. Overall, beautiful penthouse.
I mean, these views are amazing. And I'm sure this place looks even better at dusk. (uplifting music) All right, everyone, that's it for the tour. And I hope you all enjoyed this video. Let us know in the comments section below if you want us to do more high rise tours like this one.
And lastly I also want to give big thanks to the listing agents, Ansel Kim and Mauricio Umansky for allowing us to tour their amazing listing. And as always, you can find more information about this unit down on the description of this video. Lastly, if you enjoyed the tour, just to make sure to give us a like, subscribe to our channel, and we'll see you guys next week. (uplifting music)
