Touring Sharjah (Supermarkets, The Fish Market, The Ruins & The Corniche)
Salam Aleikum I'm fine how are you? where are you from? Bangladesh? he's from Bangladesh - Sylheti? no this is Pakistan Pakistan yeah yeah Pakistan - India India oh Mashallah I think people are living on these boats cause he wouldn't be hanging his clothes out for no reason Salam Aleikum, brother fish market so how are you? I'm good Alhamdulillah where's fish market? this one here? okay thank you very much Salam Aleikum how much this one, brother? all? - no, just one three thousand huh? - not sell one piece you don't sell .. oh you have to buy everything? wow 3,000 for everything? sorry brother 3,000 for everything 3,000 yeah for everything? oh okay Salam Aleikum right now it's fajr time I'm heading to the mosque my host keeps leaving the door open I know some people are like yeah Dubai it's a nice place even though this is Sharjah yeah you leave the door open listen I do not care how safe it is I grew up in London do not leave the door open I won't be able to sleep at night if I know the door's open in the mosque behind they pray earlier so I thought when I came out the building I thought I was late but I ain't late we on time man Alhamdulillah alright man it's home time I need to sleep the Imam is an amazing reciter he always picks the longest surahs for us Salam Aleikum Wa Rahmatu Allah Wa Barakatuh it's your boy Hammed aka Hammedu right now I'm in Sharjah Sharjah as they say not really feeling well I'm a bit under the weather but I'm leaving tomorrow so I got like some stuff sorted out in Oman so I said you know what it's my last day I have to vlog so for those who don't know which is everyone this is actually the next day of when I made fajir what actually happened is when I got back .. to the flat yesterday so the video of me praying fajir and all of that that's yesterday when I got back to the flat yesterday my body just kinda folded man I just wasn't feeling well at all so essentially yeah that's it I just stayed in I went out but yeah I stayed in I didn't really feel well so I didn't really go like and congregate I don't want to spread anything so today Inshallah I'm gonna go and check out the "Qalaa" which is like a fort if you know me I've got a thing for forts and Casbahs so it's supposed to be behind the mosque that's what it look like on the map so guys if you notice it's really quiet and I've been told that this is because Sharjah is also known as the bed city because people just come here to sleep then they wake up and head straight to Dubai cause Dubai is where the money's at the money's not here so it's only like a 25 minutes from Dubai you know rent here is is a lot cheaper but .. the salaries here are not high for people that are doing working class jobs so essentially they do need to that mosque Mashallah essentially they do need to keep a cost down as much as possible some people are fortunate accommodation is part of their contract some people no but you do find a lot of people living in bedsits living in bedsits or like yeah the situation is is not the best a lot of the places are overcrowded a lot of people are living in squalid conditions the building I'm staying in is definitely overcrowded predominantly people from the subcontinent also a large population of people from the sub Sahara and a minority of Arabs man like just a few Egyptian guys that I've seen in there but yeah the salaries are like what you can get like 1 k that's dirhams 1 k is like $300 maybe and then if you're lucky you can go up to that 4K which is ..
$1,200 a month but remember this place if you're staying in Dubai it's extremely expensive so how can you afford this you know even the .. the flats themselves even just for a room is expensive so to keep cost down what some people do is they stay in a place like this or stay on the outskirts of Dubai and come into the city in the morning Salam Aleikum what styles do you have, brother? is this the only style you have? yeah - okay that's Khaliji style I swear next time I go to Nigeria I'm just gonna get a load of kameezes like maybe like 10 just tailored kameezes the Khaliji style looks okay but it's not really my thing I don't think that this Arab stuff suits me it's gotta be an African thing I'd rather wear the Mauritanian one as opposed to the Khaliji one and the Mauritanian is not really fitted it's huge okay Subhan Allah, I'm here but yeah the Middle Eastern .. ones I'm not I've got one I think it's alright but it's not really me it's gotta have that West African twist this mosque looks nice it's got that it looks more like a Turkish mosque like you find a lot of mosques like this in Turkey that is more of Arab style but that it gives me I'm getting ottoman it's giving Ottoman I'm not sure what's going on here are these ruins? I'm assuming that they are I think they're trying to preserve them somehow but looks like it's a bit too late look at these doors Mashallah it reminds me of Tunisia when it comes to the doors Tunisia has the best like designs on the doors look at these brothers man they're sleeping in the shade Salam Aleikum I'm fine how are you? where are you from? Bangladesh? he is from Bangladesh - Sylheti? no this is Pakistan Pakistan yeah yeah Pakistan India India oh Mashallah he's from Pakistan, he's Pathan he's Pathan - where's Pathan? Pathan.. Pathan .. Pashtun
oh Pashtun! - yeah are you a youtuber? - yeah, yeah nice people youtuber yeah name? - Alnomadou Alnomadou if you like the video and you would like to support me make sure to like and subscribe back to the video if you have a phone I can type it for you I don't have internet I don't have internet - okay I'll show you yeah? - when I go home, I'll subscribe it's like this oh 1K subscriber - yeah I'm gonna take a photo yeah no problem where are you from bro? I'm from Nigeria - very good yeah bro you have YouTube studio? - yeah yeah one second show me studio where is studio? bro okay 1000 it's new it's a new channel I just started recently - new channel? yeah - okay what do you want to see? okay no problem - yeah? okay yeah alright man take it easy okay Mashallah some nice brothers Broski wanted to check my YouTube studio to see how much I'm earning but yeah it's a very underwhelming there's not really much going on sometimes I don't even want to refer to myself as a Youtuber you know I feel like there's a threshold you gotta have 50 k if you got 50 k subs then yeah you can call yourself a Youtuber I think people are living on these boats cause he wouldn't be hanging his clothes out for no reason it's a nice day today it's quite hot I know why they wear that you know the dress code where they kind of put that thing on top of their head it makes sense now you can generally get a headache from just walking around this weather is .. I wouldn't say it's unbearable but it's intense you just got the sun beaming directly at your head it feels like it's penetrating through I'm not sure what's going on in these boats but people are definitely residing in them these guys are even sleeping over there Subhan Allah Salam Aleikum, do you speak English? yes - okay what is this? is this for fishing? - yeah yeah oh okay they fish? yeah yeah - okay oh and then where's the fish market? the fish market is there oh just straight? yeah yeah yeah you will go straight then you will turn right you will see that big building .. that one is the fish market yeah that one? the blue one that building that's the fish market? - yeah okay okay thank you very much - you're welcome Salam Aleikum, brother fish market so how are you? - I'm good Alhamdulillah where's fish market? this one here? okay thank you very much oh check this out broski man this is serious fish Mashallah this is huge fish Mashallah this is huge fish this one's got something in his mouth Mashallah Salam Aleikum how much this one, brother? all? - no just one huh? - don't sell one piece you don't sell.. oh you have to buy everything wow 3,000 for everything? sorry brother 3,000 for everything? 3,000 yeah for everything? oh okay 3,000 that's like $850 I'll put the correct price there but Astaghfirullah that's expensive and he's not selling them he's selling them in bulk 3,000 that is expensive I guess if you're reselling them it's fine it's for people that are gonna sell them you know ..
singularly so you buy it in bulk and then you sell it like singularly but yeah that's interesting Subhan Allah this is just a supermarket man what I wouldn't do to have some juice right now sugar cane juice Alhamdulillah they even accept card I haven't withdrew cash since I've been here I've just been using card I would have quenched my thirst that would have been great Alhamdulillah if you look over there they're giving out Sadaqah again or Sadaqat it's a daily thing not just once in a while, I saw some pictures online some people can actually eat inside but some people just get a takeaway but yeah that's that's crazy having to wait outside in that heat but the meals look good it's like biryani chicken dates some juice I think yogurt I'm not 100% sure I'm gonna get a Yemeni mango I'm gonna add this to my tea Inshallah who knows I might start feeling better Inshallah let me just get a Mountain Dew cause these Arab guys are obsessed with Mountain Dew these Arab guys are obsessed with the Mountain Dew I just get two small ones see what It's saying see what the fuss is about see why these Arab guys are obsessed these Khaliji guys obsessed with Mountain Dew so total I spent 14.52 the water cost 1.5 1.5 is like
how much is 1.5? 4.2 is 1 British pound 2.1 would be 50 pence 1.5 I guess it's around like 70 pence that's cheaper than the UK cause it's 1.5 liters
right now I'm on my way to go and get breakfast I swear I'm shocked this place is still quiet how can it be so quiet like this? everybody's in Dubai once it hits night time it's gonna get active again I'm gonna eat the same thing I swear I need a change in the UK we have so much variety you know Chinese today Yemeni tomorrow Malay the day after Thai the day after that just I can I swear I can eat a food from.. cuisine from different .. parts of the world consecutively day after day for a whole month but this isn't I don't know I don't think this is possible here maybe in Dubai Allah knows best how much? how much is this one? - it's 10 AED - yeah 15 AED - okay just 10 and 15? 10 - yeah - 15 okay do you take card? do you accept card? card? can I pay by card? no no card just cash? - yes alright thanks that would have been good I think the best sugar cane juice I had was in Oman in Nizwa they even put ginger in there just to give it a little kick yeah I'm too hungry man I'm too hungry I swear in western countries it's a lot easier to fast no no it's harder to fast cause the hours are longer but broski just wasted a..
Subhan Allah! it's a lot harder to fast cause the hours are longer but here it's easier but the weather is hot and cause the weather is hot it's like it drains you quicker if you're outside I remember there was a time I was fasting in Egypt and everybody was asking me about Ramadan when I was like man Ramadan here is easy you guys break at seven and in the UK they're breaking at like 9:30 this is and Fajir here is at like five over there is at three this is light they thought I wasn't fasting but it's just easier but in here in the gulf countries man the weather gets to you man I can't lie that sugar cane juice would have been the one or mango lassi tomorrow I'm going back to Oman I was reading the documents and apparently I didn't have to leave but the guy told me that I had to leave Oman, I don't know it's a bit.. the people are nice but sometimes I feel like they're freestyling things I feel like they're freestyling things they're not even well informed themselves but Alhamdulillah he said oh you have to leave and come back with a business visa but when I returned no when he sent me the document it said.. you would have need to have entered Oman prior to receiving this visa or within a certain period of receiving this visa and I was thinking I didn't even have to leave Alhamdulillah, it is what it is prior to that like .. I just thought all of the UAE was like Dubai and I said to myself like I have no business in a place like this but now that I've seen what it's like I could live here you know I could live here it's Suhoor time it's Suhoor time look at this building it says family only no bachelors they don't want no single guys here it's a bit different from Dubai I'm going to get some Suhoor I haven't been feeling well so my voice might be a bit funny so I'm going to get some Suhoor inshallah that's the food that we eat before we have to fast and yeah Inshallah I'll go to the mosque pray Fajr then after I pray Fajr make my way to the airport I'm going back to Oman I've almost finished off my process of residency it took quite a while Subhan Allah, Omanis are nice people but their culture is like .. I feel like where they have .. you know these gulf countries where they have all of these oil money and what not don't think they're really accustomed to hardship and customer service so I've been told I might have to do another medical test and I was thinking bro what is the point I just done a medical test well Inshallah all is well we'll see how it goes I just wanna get my residency and make my way back to the UK and then I'll be moving to Oman for for long term so it seems that everywhere is closed not everywhere but there's a few shops I went to the same Yemeni restaurant but they only had one thing on the menu and to be honest they looked like they wanted to go home so I just got some Kunafah I'm not too hungry to be honest I might try to see that Syrian place there's a Syrian place just down the road over there I might try and see if they're still open Syrians are always available to take your money so I might see what's going on there and ..
yeah just break fast not break fast Astaghfirullah just eat Suhoor and then go and pray I've got like 45 minutes left so I need to devour this Kunafah soon
