Tokyo 東京 Autumn Winter: Omotesando, Cafes, Showa Kinen Park, Tokyo Tower, Ghibli Clock, Illumination
[Music] [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] hi everyone yes we were back in Tokyo in November 2024 it was the last minute trip but it's always well worth it this was our fifth trip to Japan and our second time making it to see the Autumn foliage this video is on our first 3 days of the trip which was full of shopping illuminations and cafes we were only staying in Tokyo for a few days and heading to the Kyoto area after so we decided to stay near as shinkansen station for the convenience we stayed at the makako city Tokyo Takanawa hotel in shinagawa which is a modern business-like Hotel our room had a nice view of the trains and Rainbow Bridge [Music] [Music] we just got to the hotel we just checked in now we're going fishing Juku your never stop [Music] [Music] [Music] okay shopping if you've been planning your trip to Japan I'm sure you've noticed that shopping in Japan is a must do whether you're looking for anime or character Goods clothes or food Goods there are so many places to find what you're looking for and more Shinjuku is a popular location and a great place to shop I recommend coming on a weekday and in the evening you'll get less crowds and the City Lights there is something really special about shopping surrounded by the city lights apart from the main brand stores don't forget to check out the smaller shops inside the shopping malls you'll usually find Tokyo shopping malls near above or below the train station also keep an eye out for the popup shops at train stations lots of limited or seasonal Goods can be found there Disney merchandise is top-notch in Japan if you're a Disney fan make sure you add visiting the stores outside of the parks to your itinerary another question we get asked a lot is what we do about the selfservice we have tried various eim options but these two have been the most convenient and reliable options for [Music] us please touch the checkout what [Music] [Music] after shopping and a satisfying dinner we decided to check out one of the many illumination Tokyo has so many illuminations to choose from that usually start in mid to late November Midtown Christmas was one we were really looking forward to and it did not disappoint [Music] there are many lights and Christmas decor on the walk to the main illumination it's the perfect environment for getting into the Christmas or winter spirit [Music] [Music] know [Music] [Music] you [Music] speee [Music] 22 the first full day in Japan we had a lot of locations that we were really excited about so we were out of the hotel and on the train before 8:00 a.m. which was morning rush hour but it didn't really bother us since it's one of those unique experiences to [Music] Tokyo the first location we were heading to provided a much needed contrast to the busy train with all its openness and peaceful atmosphere okay so first day actually in back in Japan we're going to go to a coffee shop Nadya no excited I've seen it a lot on Instagram and hopefully it's not too bad it's only open on the weekends see if it's actually worth it we're going to go check it out [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] h [Music] com whis located near the Shibuya area this coffee shop is a popular spot only open Friday through Sunday and on holidays the shop highlights single origin specialty coffee you can smell the beans to help you choose which coffee you want and the staff are very helpful as well [Music] the shop uses coffee from the well-known glitch Coffee Roasters and has beautiful outdoor and indoor seating [Music] the menu ranges from pourover coffee to lattes and it's fascinating to know how the flavor changes depending on the method used to prepare the [Music] coffee whether you choose drip or a latte I'm sure you will enjoy the coffee at this shop [Music] a [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] aot s is very popular and we were worried it would be really busy and tsty this is around 10:30 a.m. so a little early for some shops but it is the perfect time to walk around and enjoy the views okay [Music] okay so came from the coffee shop it was really good I really liked it good atmosphere too and we went right when it opened so it was really nice now we're here around theot Sando area and it's really pretty I really love the the row of trees that it has um the sun is kind of hitting us in a nice way so PR pretty [Music] apart from the shops there are a lot of cafes and restaurants in the Mando area we decided on a brunch SP that is popular for its Dutch baby pancakes and flow Decor we really enjoyed the machela and the yogurt Bowl which was refreshing as well they offer seasonal Dutch baby pancakes and we got to try the purple sweet potato mon Blanc with chestnuts the cafe opens at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast but these pancakes are only offered after 11:00 a.m.
[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] B [Music] [Music] I really wanted to come check out the rooftops of the Tokyo Plaza or mandoo building it's a relaxing spot with Greenery and some Autumn collor trees that just pop with the sunlight coming in you also get a nice view of the city below and the popular Tokyo Plaza Harajuku building which blends a futuristic design with a touch of nature with its Garden [Applause] [Music] [Music] Terrace the last minute F this shop across from shuko station was really good they had a variety of dishes that utiliz miyasaki ingredients and Cedar Wood was used throughout the building for under $15 a plate it was extremely good deal for the [Music] quality oyakodon a grilled chicken with rice and egg plate is one of my favorite comfort foods and this one was delicious [Music] the chilled miso soup set came with sashini and chicken carag and was also really good [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so now we're here at the shinan park a little way out from Shu about 40 minutes and we came here for the nighttime elimination of the G trees or Autumn basically but the main thing is the Ginko Avenue so yeah okay okay okay I [Music] [Music] [Music] the park is massive and has a lot of areas to explore I think it's one of the largest in Tokyo it has a pond flower Fields a children's play area a pool a bonsai Museum and host many interesting activities you can rent bicycles and there is a shuttle bus service [Music] [Music] foreign spee [Music] [Music] so ni [Music] [Music] [Music] speech spee spech [Music] [Music] so another reason why we came to the showa kinon park is because they have a Japanese garden and it's also lit up at night and we're here to check it out and so far it looks really nice without a doubt this was one of the most astonishing views I had seen we turned the corner and walked along the stone Pathway to the pond the pond was a beautiful reflection of The View on the other side for a moment I couldn't believe this was real the water barely moved and the reflection was a perfect upside down painting [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh prob [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] the last stop of the night was one of Tokyo's Christmas illuminations and this one really attracted us because of the row of illuminated trees leading to the beautiful crystal chandelier [Music] unfortunately we were a little too late for the Christmas Market but the beautiful decor and the atmosphere was worth the visit [Music] half this meal how happy [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] this last morning in Tokyo for now we needed to stay near shinagawa station so we could make our senson train at noon our first stop was breakfast and we stopped by this chill coffee shop with an open space and a lot of greenery [Music] they had a lot of options to choose from but we were craving the breakfast Bagels we ordered the egg flan Bagel The oyako Bagel pudding apple cake the Yol late and a regular l [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so we just St at yaho it was really good I really like the oaku bagel it was um it has chman Andra so really good now we're going to go walk to a really nice Tower here in Tokyo [Music] [Music] [Music] people [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you [Music] as a gibli fan seeing these art installations and gibli references all over Japan really brings out our inner child it's so exciting to see it feels like we walk into the magical world of [Music] gibling unfortunately our morning Adventures came to an end but we were on to our next destination nada shinagawa station is also a shinkan station and there's another in Yokohama so if you're taking the shinan from Tokyo consider staying near one of the other stations you'll get away from the crowds and the opportunity to explore other areas of this wonderful city of course uban are a must for us the eens make a great meal we honestly haven't had one that was not satisfying we reserved the green car seats and we were able to order ice cream for the first time melon anything is always exciting and of course don't forget to reserve Fuji VI seats thank you so much for watching don't forget to subscribe to be notified when our n Autumn video is released bye-bye [Music]
