The Streets Of Downtown Caracas Venezuela - Is The Crisis Over?
what's up guys welcome to caracas venezuela if you don't know anything about caracas venezuela it was the richest country in south america because it has the largest oil reserve in the world even to this day in fact in the early 2020s uh when oil went up this country actually took advantage of that and started all types of social programs to help the poor this actually helped the the government the the people who in place stay in power unfortunately uh the president at the time passed away and when he passed away the prices of oil plummeted which actually affected this country in a negative way with all the social programs that they started now everything was uh flipping which actually made this country go into a financial crisis which to this day has led up to 5.4 million venezuelans leaving the country searching for a better life but now i'm in caracas here in the bank district and there's life here today we are going to be exploring the streets i'm going to just be walking down this way there's a mall i want you to see i want you to see the energy and see the people and see the commerce that is happening right now in the city right now but i want to people give you guys a disclaimer all right what's happening in this city does not fully represent the full picture of what's happening in the country i get that i say that in the comments a lot of people are telling me oh yeah venezuela's back no there's a lot of stuff i haven't been able to show you just yet however this is a representation of something that there is life happening here okay guys so join me as i walk the streets of downtown caracas to look for a phone case all right here we go okay this right here from my understanding is the banking district right here as you can see it is live um and civilized here a couple years ago it wasn't and i guess that was because of the the height of the the crisis that was happening here in caracas but now it's settled down a little bit but people are still suffering uh because of this crisis as far as people getting paid it's it's hard for a lot of people okay we're walking into the area right here this is the area uh if you are familiar with this area guys comment down below i'm walking into really don't know but i know this is like the beginning of what you're going to see like of markets uh people buying stuff it's a it's a good sign and the country need more of this it's a good sign the country needs more of this however all right it says uh we are approaching rush hour time so i think it's a good time you're going to see some people coming from work or people going to shopping or people trying to take the train so it should be a good energy we're about to see right now let's go all right make sure this is quite clean all right see a guy with um dollars in his hand here interestingly enough right here um dollar is king and I know you've seen the guy with American money giving it to a lady on the bus but most of these buses are using boulevard because the government wants to promote the use of boulevard they only allow boulevard for the buses however the public's trust in the boulevard is not solid yet so a lot of people are still using American money as a form of payment so you'll see dollars everywhere here okay how are how is the dollar getting into the country well through tourism or well through tourism when people come here they leave their dollars here and a lot of people who uh been to the states have american bank accounts and so you can send money through zell and people will just pull it out of their banks and knowledge and have it here this is a mall i'm approaching because i'm in this area by myself sometimes i'm gonna be talking so just know i'm i stop talking because maybe i gotta be careful but hey mom right here beautiful mall i'm planning on going to a place called city market it's like a huge technology um plaza so it has all type of stuff they sell like computers cell phones cell phone cases all right my favorite restaurant in the world mcdonald's is is going on what i'm walking through now i feel like it's downtown and this is where you just could find cheap items here cheaper clothing um food and also like if you got like services that you need to take care of this is the place right here all right here we go I know there's a lot of people that right there is like a train station people come off over there and they either going or coming off of there but there's a lot of people out today wow wow it's a whole bunch of people out today so I have to be careful with the camera alright guys so if you see me acting aware it's because I'm trying to be careful with the camera but check this out right here guys super beautiful wow this place reminds me of places I've been to in other countries like Columbia super beautiful and then you check it out they got the train station this goes into the subway for the uh to get people around town all right then you got uh these uh food vendors right here oh man guys the food here is pretty good I know you saw like old videos of people saying oh they got like rotten meat or stuff like that I think that still exists here, for the most part, there is there is a lot of good food here available to the poor or to the people who don't really have that much money they can still get it you know what I mean so this area food is good all right move around so many people out here man wow okay just a reminder I am a travel YouTuber so if you want to like watch some of my other content I got some really interesting it's like a new york kind of vibe too here you can find your latest uh stylish purse or stylish shoes here it's interesting yep I think I'm really doing a good job blending in at the moment because I'm not stopping we just keep going so but the place I'm going I feel like it's like maybe 10 more blocks this way so brace yourselves as we walk deeper into the area all right well why the reason why I'm showing you this is because I want to show you that there is life here in Venezuela I mean me meeting Venezuelans in other parts of South America and knowing that they have issues living here I can understand but I used to think like this place was destroyed in terms like there's nothing here well there's actually a lot of commerce here wow look at this building right here guys it's also a good sign like music it's a good sign to show you that people are feeling good you know they want to purchase things you know they're making a way when supposedly there's not a way all right now I mentioned at the beginning of this video what I'm about to show you does not represent the full picture and uh yeah this there are people who are really struggling to get paid to see these guys here they could be making 15 to 10 a month and with that, they're supposed to consolidate a lot of things many Venezuelans have more than one job and they might be living in some harsh or living conditions it may not be easy for them in terms of living in terms of power outages or having to consolidate water or you know getting certain things that we get in the states that we take advantage of you know if you were to get arrested here you know you're arrested that's it good luck eating they're not really taking care of you they might give you some water or something at least you got a cold cheese sandwich in day county ice box stockade right so we move on the show you more parts I know y'all wanted me to stop to mingle with people but I'm almost I feel like I'm almost where I need to so just keep walking and I'll show you the vibes and energy just most importantly I just wanted to show you the energy of this area I might just upload this video just to give you an idea of what to expect when you come to Caracas and then from that point on I will get back to my regular episodes I don't know maybe I make this episode I don't feel like this is a real episode but I mean it is partly about living in Venezuela all right you know some guys are going to be hustling I guess to make some dough right quick oh if you probably haven't noticed or like as far as people might heal I literally stick out big time I mean it's not an inconvenience or anything like but uh yeah I'm you super unique here I mean a lot of uh Venezuelans are making uh with a different type of um things but yeah I will definitely stick around all right see they got a case and it is hot for your boy I wanted to do a live stream um with the internet here they have it in it but it's a little bit uh all those kids going in uh yeah I wanted to do a live stream but the internet here is cool but not super and I ain't want to risk it you know so maybe I'll do one later that one chick she saw the camera probably noticed me it smells good maybe we just watched a piece of parlor it was mad it smelled good man this is interesting now I was going to post the whole family this video but I might be somewhere else next weekend so that's why I'm doing it now just getting it out of the way and I think I picked a really good day good time too hey thousands of people out here easily a hundred hundred thousand out here and this in this strip right here easily wow something real beautiful you know what I mean we got people's homes over there really nice some are not I think and since we were talking about uh looking at our subway entry since we were talking mob Venezuelans yeah I feel like Venezuela is one of the most diverse uh countries I've visited right like it's super diverse you know what I mean there's no like like anybody can say that Venezuela me too anybody I think if you look super super super uh European that might be questionable like oh yeah I don't know if you're gonna swear not you're sure you know for the most part yeah as you can see based off of me walking through this crowd we're almost I think we're almost at the city market, oh another thing you should know is how to pay for things here all right one of the ways you can pay for things is with your debit card a lot of these places accept debit cards so for me some lady almost fell uh so except debit card that's one place they accept and another thing you can do cash, of course,, uh American preferably another thing you can do is sell so if you have a Zelle count from the states you can literally transfer to certain businesses they'll accept it so if you're worrying like oh what's the money issue here how you purchase things a lot of places take sale and a lot of small businesses take debit so just in case you're wondering they'll have like a machine that'll you can swipe so just in case you're like wondering and I don't know that is all right beautiful day today we are rocking okay all right uh they tell you to be careful here uh I don't know am I the type that people like warrants danger here I'm not too sure ah we're already at the market this is the place I want to go guys so let's go all right this is a mall that deals with a lot of technology say central technology geos so this is a place where I'll find my uh phone charger or not my phone charger phone case pull out my phone real quick oh I wanted to give a highlight to a place I know too Sofia say all right guys I think she might have it okay okay call okay so I'm also putting a glass protector over my camera I bought it here actually but from a different store but uh these guys I wanted to pop up and then we'll do some little walking around the area so you get to see them oh uh m is foreign all right guys I'm Alex here now let's let's check out more of the store okay all right you see my very first video in Venezuela this is actually the mall I went to uh when I was looking for a computer charger all right but we're just entering from a different way matter of fact I should i Getting all my stuff in my pockets is a bad habit so I'm gonna move it back to my bag right here oh rinser guys having some form of promotion thing happening people buying man that's a good deal man that's a good sign things are happening what i'm basically trying to say is it's not as bad as it used to be you know i mean but there's most definitely room for improvement but this is a good sign right here keep in mind this is karakas guys i was i was able to speak to other people and they told me that they run karaka's the city differently than other places because it is the capital they need to make the people here happy or it can collapse the government but other states you might see something different i'm just keeping them honest with you guys all right i've come across people who had to hold their tongue talking to me and uh you know i respect it but it hurts me that they have to do that you know what i mean so anyways we can look at some of the technology they have here they got some dope technology here man they i actually went to another mall and they had a playstation 5 they had the the latest m1 apple macbook what's up guys we're in the mall right now um just wanted to show you how caracas looks it's not in there they have like really cool um places to go that are really well developed i think i was i was talking to some people and they were telling me how they didn't believe what they saw they didn't realize realize caracas could be really well developed phone service here let's show you a little bank this is the bank right here and then look at this courtyard right here very big I forgot the name of the mall um but I was told that they do a lot of shows here this mall is actually connected to a hotel as well so it's like the hotel gives me a vibe like a casino type of hotel and I asked her because she seen how my hotel looks if this hotel was nice my house is pretty decent said that hotel was also nice as well it wasn't a name brand hotel from the states that's I'm staying in a hotel that's from the states and then all right guys so it looks like I can't get the service here all right the digital store has the latest uh computers out here all right guys so doing good so far it looks like an easy saying and oh yeah we're gonna check this out let's do it how much is the PlayStation five the PlayStation um here going for 900 guys they actually have the m1 MacBook here guys check it out they're up to date with everything here look at this I actually said this is the n1 I don't think it is uh I don't know yeah it's actually it says 16 gigabyte m1 right there oh yeah this place is it is this the ultra they have the one that just came around no I'm not sure I think the other one that came out is kind of smaller but the fact that they have that one is impressive here okay I wonder how much is the m1 going for okay so that was an option of me buying a computer if I need to I could have bought one here no three thousand oh three thousand dollars that's it guys three thousand dollars man so I think it's a little bit what model is that is the is the most here but is it there's how many terabytes is in there one okay so yeah it's a little bit more expensive than the ones in the states guys yeah order for the one terabytes goes for three grand so yeah there is a luxury tax on it these guys actually gave me a free uh universal core guys so shout out to these guys right here okay if you are coming to um Caracas and you're looking for a technology show that has up-to-date things uh as you can see they have some dope gamer stuff everything check them out uh come on central commercials okay we that's the name of the play soy tech though guys so look it up and come do business with these guys all right yo all right guys so i'm treating my friend and her her friend the driver to some food right here we're going to monte grill they say this is one of the best uh grill places in caracas we they were driving and i just pointed at it and i told them to stop here and uh yeah we'll go and eat here i think it'll be a treat uh someone left a comment about me uh paying for people's food come on guys let's not be petty okay let me let me just splurge on people who are taking the time to show me around town some of you guys i don't know where you come from i don't know what attracts you to my videos but that that's that's this idiotic you know i mean worried about what i'm buying you guys showed me unique stuff making me feel like i'm home and you you got a problem with me paying for something but at the end of the day whatever i eat don't make you go to use the restroom so just keep that in mind when you're leaving these comments because you have a problem with how i use my money all right now let's go to one of the most expensive places and eat some food oh exclusiva she's at one of the best restaurants here so let's go check it out all right oh wow really nice oh wow this is impressive very impressive oh my god yes all of this looks really good okay very nice I can't wait to eat then we walk into a beautiful courtyard with nice dim lighting okay make people feel like hey what is going on so guys check it out they are bringing uh I guess appetizers they giving you a raipo some I don't know what that is I don't know what guayanae is but that's what that is so I'm gonna try a little rapid it's not really good for my diamond to let's try one half of it though let's see how she sets it up pretty much so she mixes that with that and the reaper guys is nice and warm so let me try it very sweet guys oh my god oh my god really good some lettuce for the diet right here okay caesar salad there you go so guys the food is here this looks very impressive wow okay this is really good but I say really well um probate okay all right guys let me try this meat right here wow look at it man this thing is super thick wow okay you can really get a piece of this for a real decent price in Argentina so we'll find out what we're getting here keep in mind this is a different country and things could be a little bit more expensive all right yo the way she cut that was really easy she didn't have to struggle all right guys let me see how thin it means it looks kind of hard yeah it's really easy to break into I thought it was gonna be tough nice suckling meat guys suck at me guys okay this is a line or something let's go through but see if we can get through this really quick all right thanks for
