Texas: DUO WINTER CAMPING - Day 2 of 2 - Part 2
all right we got back and there's some sort of animal over there we're armed not that we need it because we're not gonna kill we're not gonna kill any animals but we heard the footsteps and it's in there somewhere uh there's not telling what it was but it was a lighter footstep it wasn't a it wasn't a cow he's doing some parabolic stuff to his ears to try to hear it it wasn't uh it was probably a dog sized i want to say it was a coyote but very well could have been and we can't see anything so hey you want to take the tools back want to take the tools back gonna take the tools back because it's uh starting to rain say what dude that had to be something bigger because those were pretty loud i mean we were in the middle of walking and talking and we heard it but it wasn't like cow big you know anyways maybe we'll see it all right we were discussing a second ago we don't know what it could have been reason i wouldn't think it would be a coyote is because they're more of a nighttime type of creature i don't know if they're nocturnal for sure but they're definitely less active during the day um i don't think it could have been something small like a raccoon or skunk because it was so heavy it wasn't really a heavy footstep it was a light footstep it could have been a deer that would be a good guess because it was uh it was soft it was a soft footstep but it was decent decent uh loudness oh yeah it's definitely gonna i thought of thinking for sure it was in this thicket i gotta see a bird moving on around there hey is that a squeal yeah that's a pig that is a hog squeal that could have been a baby hog all right i don't want to stick around you know hey is that a bird or a hog [Music] sounds more like a hog oh yeah we're in trouble for sure i think that's a hog it's squealing i hear cody whistling maybe i should whistle back it's always fun whistling like that i'm going right into the belly of the beast oh cody's right there you can see him walking say what oh yeah well hogs dig up a lot so okay now i'm thinking it is a hug let me come look my time in ffa has made me experience experience with the hog nature where is it oh we just thought we heard squealing and footsteps but there was a lot of them oh wow that's deep i don't think it's a hog wow that's a step that's a oh [Music] wow why don't we follow the tracks i don't know what that could be that's odd say what armadillo i don't think armadillo would be that loud though those are loud footsteps let's see a better one damn dude dawn's hurt nothing too special huh yeah there's a lot of armadillos out here too so that's a possibility yeah nick shot one that's for sure and it ran well we tried man i'm ready to eat some glizzies we got red feathers where's that poop right here in between the red feathers up there interesting it's not what we were just looking for but something different oh wow dude there's more feathers on the other side noticeable bunch all right i'm not going to search anymore i want to find a i not we i want to find something i can do i think this is a bingo roller oh no that was a roll of barbed wire that's pretty cool though who knows lord knows how long that's been out there what is this that's interesting i mean it's a cody hey cody come look at this it's a thing i have no clue would that be a roll of barbed wire and so would that have been a roll of barbed wire yeah this is it yeah that's what i thought it was over there yeah spool you put a bait in it dude that would be a good caught up in it that would be a good trap yeah especially a squirrel but i think a squirrel could get out of that should probably be good i would i don't want to have to skin it though and that's kind of rough so i'm gonna look for something else the bark is a big part of protection see if i can get something like this that would be perfect but this is just too alive to get that off easily hey here's one of those hercules things right here those are so fun to chop off it's not rolling it's just so weak got a little bit of fire down there don't tell me that again i'm sorry anyways you know damn so it's following around to where i need to go i'm just trying to get that stick right there you know saying that one right there all right just go in the wood all right in the wood and the smoke let's try and break it up a little bit look there we go there we go just like that just throw this one in there right now yeah perfect and then we can build like a lean too this one needs to go up a little bit there we go perfect lean too yeah anyways gotta do something else gotta find more wood it's pretty boring right now just carving in some trees you know i know i've shown since then but well no i haven't when we got back from trying to find the animal back over there started sprinkling again that's why the tarps covering that again so it's sprinkling got some nice wood right here thin wood too so if i can't break it i'm gonna chop it up but one way to try to break it is get this log right here and get this one and then step on it see if it cracks which is not okay sometimes you can put your foot under it if you got still toe yeah so this is going to need sawed up but why do that when you got all this wood out here i can't stress it enough it's an amazing place like it's smoky there's just so much wood out here we're kind of like cleaning up this wooded area in the back of the property while helping ourselves it's kind of nice when you can do something like that oh dang i grabbed it got some thorns on it oh well burn the thorns trash anyways found two hooves right there from a cow cow toenails anyways gonna try to build this fire up you can't even tell how close you get to that line until you're right there oh it's kind of weird now i'm just talking i'm just talking i'm so boring burn the burn the thorns dude i built a lean too maybe we can sleep under it together oh oops yeah that's what i'm talking about right there we're gonna have a good dinner tonight real good got all this wood that just chipped off from that from breaking that anyways tonight the menu for dinner is a ham it's a ready oh cody that ham is ready to eat all it needs is heat it up it's all it's a pre-cooked ham has been frozen for years i mean like three or four years i don't even know anyways we're gonna eat it because whenever stuff is in deep freeze it don't go bad unless it gets freezer burn yeah anyways still got the fire also in the cooler we surprisingly didn't eat all the eggs last night herb this morning we still got sausage from this morning so tonight for dinner is uh this ham ready to carve uh ready to carve ready to eat same thing smoked ham fully cooked there it is right there got this for free actually did you hear that i got this ham for free like three or four years ago so it's gonna be good uh it's been a deep freeze it's good i'm gonna eat it i wish i could uh slow cook it in the dutch oven i got the tripod but i don't have like a all i have is water if i was going to slow cook it i'd put it in apple juice or yeah apple juice that's about all then the fire build up need a lot of hot coals for tonight's there anyways back to the menu that that ham i just pulled out we got um here i'll just show you it's all in the truck i'm gonna have to pull it out anyways i don't think we're going to be using the cast iron tonight which is good oh thank the lord we were going to have sausage and potatoes and onions for lunch today but uh this gummy was the best gummy best candy ever made like i said i said that before i got bags and bags i got pork and beans on the menu mashed potatoes mac and cheese a little bit of everything oh the mac and cheese is no the mashed potatoes are under the tarp so some of these are just snacks like the raviolis in there but i'm going to take one of these mac and cheeses [Applause] [Music] [Applause] we're going to get back out here still got a whole bunch of water it's pretty good i gotta fix this where it's hanging off the edge yeah perfect yeah so good dinner tonight it's our christmas dinner friends miss because today is the 29th okay it's the 29th of december so we just got done with christmas those seat covers in there pretty nice got those for christmas got that sleeping bag i used last night for christmas uh mashed potatoes are in here see just some dried stuff so that's the menu that's not this is nice fire starter i used it today um as you saw last night i failed miserably at doing a uh building a fire sucked so i finally used some of this today and it worked amazing so tomorrow that's what we're going to use i also got this fire starter and hot hands i was in a i wanted to trap or kill something so i could use this that my girlfriend got me for my birthday yeah but sometimes you don't get what you want so anyways it's gonna be good dinner there's my toothpaste toothbrush toothpaste camper's toilet paper i had to go use it earlier but that's when it started sprinkling the first time and i noticed it right before i walked off dang i just realized i was focused in at the top i don't know where at who cares i've been talking anyways so nice dinner tonight we're gonna have salt the water for the noodles pepper them after and we got butter in the cooler for the mac and cheese anyways i think i'm gonna try doing something about that ham uh we're cheaters we uh needed water we could have barely scraped by for tonight uh i only filled the cooler up with the water dispenser only hold it up for i'm like i did it the third of the way not a third three fourths of the way and uh all your cows are getting done eating going to the watering hole oh look at this i just exposed myself using a samsung this whole time people trash talk samsung good camera quality look at these guys look at a little cab right there he's so cute this isn't the best quality but i don't think iphone could do any better i don't know why people always trash talk samsung look you can see cody through there walking through he is the cooler i didn't want to go park in all the cow patties but i think uh what i'm fixing to do is turn around right here and back up as much as i can so that he uh oh there's kind of a trail right there i might try to go on really cows would be no i won't go there but i'll go back i'll back up a little bit to where he can just set the stuff in the bed it sucks that uh sucks that we had to leave to do this oh this sucks didn't get back here in time you don't have anything cooked this is so stupid here leave this one for this dude you just empty a whole thing i can fit a whole box you think so yeah i know okay there you go is it how it is wow sticky i have to rinse it off guess what's all over here all right anyway i was going to slice up this hem and do whatever with it cook mac and cheese overcooked mac and cheese i love the noodles overdone ham's dry mac and cheese cody doesn't like it but it tastes like it tastes good with barbecue seasoning tastes good barbecue seasoning we still have dry we got instant potatoes and the water is getting hot cody put the chili back on from yesterday well if all fells pork and beans that was gross anyways i'm gonna be eating some more mac and cheese because yum i mix powdered cheese from the mac and cheese into into the mashed potatoes the instant potatoes and uh kind of you know mixed it up so now it's kind of cheesy you know and so it's not bad at all i'd be a cow bro not anymore i gave up my life a crime to ah to bring entertainment to youtube oh my gosh all right my overhead lamp stopped working so i got headlamp didn't turn out too good but uh we got by tomorrow his last day but back in the tent i'm going to do some high hands we just got back from the field we uh went out in the field and look around i didn't take my phone but he did and he got some pretty cool pictures morning morning time got a fire going our tripod over it gonna do biscuits and gravy anyways last morning that i clean up the tent and do all sorts of stuff i put the biscuits in the dutch oven i'm gonna use the tripod hopefully oh dude what is that is that the chili from the first night it's looking good anyways you're not gonna clean it you're not gonna clean it anyways okay so uh cody has a nice setup to just pack up and leave and i have a lot more trouble i have a lot more trouble to go through anyways yeah so we're going to get this done all right put the biscuits on we ditched the tripod letting that work out uh cleaning up most of this stuff look at him he's all done i'm basically all done i just gotta get that trash and all the other stuff out trying i'm gonna try to fold up the rainfly with the tent see how that works out so pros to hammock camping you can pack up in 15 minutes or less easy install easy take down really comfortable comfortable you're not sleeping on the ground downsides downsides uh rain sucks oh no no rain no good for rain unless you got a tarp over you put a tarp over it but that makes it just about as long as tent camping wind sucks wind makes it cold they got insulated ones i got nice ones though it's yep than tinsel yeah oh and if there's not trees yeah pros with tent camping uh you can set up a heater keep the heat inside with the rain fly and i have carbon monoxide poisoning yeah gotta keep the window open that's the last time we went camping i woke up in the middle of the night i couldn't figure out why i couldn't breathe and so i just opened the windows but yeah that's so bad what if you die well you usually wake up before you die like whenever you're suffocating not always most of the time what if he died but he always tell my family i died yeah yeah he died because he was too stupid to open his windows when using a propane heater in an enclosed area yeah anyways i think setting up a tent is pretty easy um because i've done it so many times but takedown is always you know it's not really a hassle it is because you can't ever get the tent in the bag but it sucks you know no one looks forward to it oh and it's easy to get a tent dirty like this with as much money as i have invested in uh tents i might as well just get a hammock i don't find a hammock comfortable because of the way you're shaped like your back but some people do anyways are we gonna make gravy go with this all right it's gonna be a good day you wanna show them the biscuits so far sure biscuits are rising it's pretty good so hopefully it gets cooked enough over put some just replace the hard the fat wood under the dutch oven so it's smoldering anyways we got noodles in there the uh those were burnt noodles stuck onto the dutch oven last night they tasted so good anyways i guess i'm gonna finish putting this thing up all right camp is mostly disassembled gotta fold up my tarp but i'm tired so if i can open this thank you so i think it's dr pepper time some aspects of this trip is that it aspects sucked after breakfast gets done we're gonna head out it's going to be hashtag sad what are you doing oh charging your phone because you can't go without it what are you using right now exactly i made that point uh i think yesterday but all right so we're gonna get it we're gonna get her done hey are you getting her done all right the bottoms of the biscuits are nice golden brown so now we're going to do some sausage uh um think it's in the truck we got some gravy mix um wherever it is who knows really we'll find it sooner or later anyways for now it might be in my gear bag he's making some sausage for that we got some right here from yesterday you know where the gravy mix is oh no oh it's in this all this stuff somewhere i guess we're gonna find it cook it cook the gravy mix got the sausage gravy and the biscuits he's painting the biscuits with some butter i tried new creation eggs and sausage check both of these set that right there set that on the heat i don't know where is it yeah it was supposed to be lunch yesterday but we had breakfast at 12. what time is it i have no clue it's almost one seven till anyways i don't know what that means is he good yeah we finally got a good meal in let me focus in on it that's how you know it's good this is cooking finally all right all right i'm gonna eat breakfast now all right this is it all right breakfast it wasn't all that good but it wasn't all bad it was pretty decent that's the steam from the water cody's last bag got everything packed up been drinking dr pepper it's mine right there on the toolbox you ready he's ready all right well all right head out you
