Swimming With PIRANHAS In The AMAZON, Is It Dangerous?
good morning everyone here from the big city of manaus in the amazon. today we're extra excited because we're gonna be doing a tour, a three-day tour in the amazon rainforest and this is what we wanted to do the most when we came here, we wanted to go to the amazon rainforest the proper jungle and sleep there and that's exactly what we're going to be doing in this video. so once again we're doing the tour with iguana turismo and this one is called the iguana package, so they do have other packages where you can spend less days there or more days but we're going to be spending three days there, and it's gonna cost a 1140 reais and that includes meals everything really, transport, everything's included in that price and that is per person. so we're just gonna head to the office now and that's where we'll get the transport into the rainforest ready to go? yeah. so am i. excited
yeah i'm really excited, i'm wondering which boat we're getting in it's the same kind of boat i think? yeah it is. yeah, like a taxi boat so we've arrived at this other port now i think we've got to get another van and another boat. yeah another van and another boat yeah so i think this is like a main connection spot for loads of boats because you can see loads of boats arrivin, got another tour here. and this is ours it's like one of those van life kombi things. yeah here in brazil we call it kombi. kombi volkswagen all right let's go inside yeah come here picking up some supplies, yeah watermelon. watermelon so that took about 45 minutes i think? yeah now another boat to the pousada yeah on this little stream here, so the majority of the road was paved just the last 20 minutes it was sandy like this or muddy so this is going to take us right to the lodge? yeah.
so this is home for the next day or two. yeah So this is called Juma Lake Inn, that's where we're going to be staying, right on the riverfront let's go brazil so they said that lunch should already be ready soon. what? oh really the dolphin where was it? over there. just over here? yeah we saw a few while we were coming on the boat so they're everywhere here. yeah i think we're gonna see more today. yeah so we are waiting for the lunch it's going to be at 12 and then we have some time to relax and then we'll do other stuff in the afternoon. yeah, yeah so this right here is the lunch area then outside they have this cool little deck here and chill out and swim all right so we're gonna check into our room now, so you can see they have all these little cabins here. i think ours is like the last one. yeah i really like the design
yeah yeah it's cool. yeah so we got the final little shack, the view of our balcony here ah so it's like a queen size bed and two other beds. yeah. and it's a fan room let's see the rest, all right there's the shower so we're going to go for a little swim now right in front of the lodge that we're staying in. so the crazy thing is they just told us that what's in the water? piranhas.
Piranhas and crocodiles and alligators/ yeah the guys saw one a big one like two meter one over there yeah and he said that the piranhas are all around here but what i didn't know is that for us we always think they just attack humans and attack things straight away. yeah that's what i thought too but according to the guy. it's completely safe. it's not like that yeah only if you're bleeding a lot it's not like just a little cut. yeah so we should be safe but i'm not sure if i'm gonna jump. yeah even though they said there's no casualties i think a lot of people just knowing that theres piranhas there would never jump in, i'm gonna jump in though. okay good luck i love you. chris dinner, nom nom nom nom nom nom nom
is it deep i don't know? i think so. all right here we go it's warm, yeah? carol dinner it's warm isn't it? yeah it's a good temperature never thought i'd be swimming with piranhas, i didn't think it was an option yeah this is an awesome spot to stay in though, look at this cool little lodge okay so it started raining and the birds are going nuts now. yeah the maritacas, maritacas? yeah that's the name of the name of the bird so it's about 3 p.m now and we're gonna head out on this boat here this other group's already heading out. and i think we're going to do some piranha fishing
crocodile watching i don't know. yeah i'm not sure about everything but yeah we're supposed to see more botos the pink water dolphins and also try to catch some piranhas for dinner and something else, i don't know we'll find out so now it's time to do the native fishing these wooden fishing rods, check this out. so we got our bait here, what is that anyway? chicken. piranhas like chicken this is carol's first time fishing properly. yeah i have no idea what i'm doing. yeah get a little bit of bait maybe hook it on twice, i don't know actually maybe it's better that it dangles all right yeah yeah leave it like that take it away all right let's see how this goes somethings already biting it. yeah it is what do i do? wait until it really pulls and then pull it up they are fighting carol got a piranha, let me see it wow, baby piranha chris got one yeah it's a big one be careful mine's bigger oh i can see it's teeth there you go check out those teeth Woah any more bites carol? no is that another one, is that a piranha? number 2 watch out with my ass. hahah wow i like the color yeah small one look at these little streams or rivers. yeah it's called igarape. this river? yeah it's like the word for it
in portuguese. igarape, like a stream. okay. it's an indigenous name it's been peaceful hasn't it? yeah a lot. yeah been bird watching, kind of hard to film them though because they're very far away. we also saw a crocodile but escaped really quick. crocodile another dolphin a lot of birds yeah
this part is super quiet is that your necklace from yesterday? yeah from the acai seeds. yeah that we bought on yesterday's tour it's still weird swimming where the piranhas are. yeah somebody's cold now, so it's about 6 30 now night time as you can see. and we're going crocodile hunting well not literally hunting, but yeah we're gonna go looking for crocodiles in the boat again so yeah late night river cruise for crocodiles so it's about 8:30 p.m and we're already gonna try and go to bed because we've got to wake up extra early tomorrow before 5 a.m which is something that we haven't done in ages, i don't remember the last time we did that. so yeah gonna go to bed right now. i didn't mention that this place
doesn't have any internet so yeah it's like a real place to disconnect ,there doesn't seem to be like television internet or anything so once the sun goes down there isn't actually that much to do anyway. you can hang out in the restaurant area, get some drinks and stuff but that's about it. so that makes it even better for us to try and go to sleep early. and we're just having such an amazing time here in the amazon, it's everything that we expected and even more. it's just so wild here
all the wildlife everywhere, everywhere you go you can just hear sounds all the time, some sorts of animals jumping around, out of the water, out of the trees. just stuff going on everywhere, it really is incredible. so hopefully you like these videos so far there are more videos coming from here in the amazon rainforest so stay tuned for those. drop a like on this video to support us subscribe like see more videos like this follow us on instagram and we'll see in the next
