STREET FOOD Heaven in THAILAND Bangkok Night Market
half the fun in coming to these types of night markets in bangkok is just watching them cook [Music] hello out there world my name's chris and i'm retired working for you and tonight we're gonna have some thai street food this place here in bangkok called jawed fairs it's like street food heaven wrapped into a night market format here look at haley wandering in her new dress looking pretty fly i must say so we'll get to the food but i should also tell you that later in this video i'm gonna give away four free hotel nights to some of you out there so stick around because at some point after some delectable food we're going to be giving away four free luxury hotel nights so we've just come around the first row and haley's going to model us for us as we walk down the second row and you'll see that it's so far not a lot a ton of food they got the classic frilly frilly tie dresses there's a lot of people getting nails done getting hair done getting makeup done but we're hungry and we came here to find the food okay now we're getting warmer now there's some of these little makeshift thai restaurants don't you just love how they they pop up a tent and there's people grilling up cooking up all kinds of stuff lots of people of all ages enjoying let's see what they got going here huh they got some shellfish they got a bunch of fresh prawns and a whole lot of ribs i don't think that's what i'm gonna get some spicy oyster salad for you oh look at that so we've just popped out to the end of row number two and now we're at the the one end and you can see that there's just a big long row of picnic tables here that everyone's uh eating at you can just grab a seed anywhere eat whatever you want oh look at this it is durian season but i don't think that i'm gonna start my meal with a durian that doesn't seem like it would uh settle the stomach for the rest of the meal but maybe i'll come back to this later haley have you found anything oh yeah oh oh look at this first up yeah it would seem that we got songtab [Music] oh yeah [Music] so if you want to eat some tam but you don't want the crazy crab fish inside and that crazy strong thai taste do what haley did and order some tam thai the way the thai children eat oh look at this master at work [Music] [Music] [Music] what are you eating a lot of things and craft beer you can try oh yeah craft beer maybe i'll get one after my meal [Music] a lot of different craft beers in here what's your favorite one so uh how is it oh it's good and i like her style because she give us a lot of cabbage 60 baht less than two dollars all right give it a taste let's see how it is [Music] sour sweet salty heaven [Music] [Music] [Applause] mango season right now ladies and gentlemen one of the most exciting times of the year and look at this like i mean we just ate that song tam right there this is where i met these lovely people and i couldn't resist i got a passion fruit beer a passion fruit craft beer made in thailand right from this guy over here so we went from a cold streak with the food we passed all those nail shops to a hot streak how do i is it very delicious well the one thing i'll say about the ties is they're an unfriendly bunch now let's get hailey back to tell us about the various mangoes that she bought you see mangoes it's not just like one kind like like where i'm from oh look haley's found our own little personal stall here where she can tell you about the various mangoes what do you have here i got four kinds of mango it's a mango seasoning sweet mango very sour medium sour sour this is really really sour one oh my god wow that's super sour so before moving to thailand i only ever ate the sweet mangoes which are these ones right here oh wow that goes well after the sour one but then after moving here the first time i ate the sour ones i was like a little bit shocked i didn't like it i'll be honest but now i think i prefer the sour ones which ones do you prefer sweet or sour sour [Music] off down to the next row to see what we can find these little things are our daughter's favorite little crepes kind of fried crispy and then they put some sweet cream in with some salted egg yolks in these ones anyone want some squid sticks she's uh grilling up squid sticks back there so what they have you had 10 bucks okay chicken chicken what's this one that's chicken okay i try this one sometimes you just need a hot dog on a stick uh and when it's 10 baht you can't go wrong i love it when they put it with this little sauce here this one's like a stewed sweet chili sauce oh haley had the change a little too much plastic for my liking just to get a meat stick now my dad doesn't love the spicy food so dad here you go baked potatoes with cheese baked potatoes with sour cream look potato corn for 59 baht so dad you could uh eat the baked potatoes and hey you'd probably like one of these too yeah that's a sweet chili sauce it's got a little bit of a kick to it sometimes you just need a little dirty stick what is it huh jellyfish yeah this guy's cooking up jellyfish here look at this whoa cooking up the jellyfish yeah grilled grilled jellyfish yeah i never saw that one but he does have a a customer here you like the jellyfish for friend yeah oh you don't eat no she's not gonna eat it that's for a friend grill jellyfish there's a new one for me haley's just checking out this is an end area here they got some old cars over there they have some live music a big section where you can see a whole ton of people just lounging oh she's drank her fair share of leo's i'm proud of you i'm very proud of you over there so this place is in all time not nearly check this out sweaty cap we got yaki soba here some fried japanese noodles oh she's making up some takoyaki nice there's also a ton of little korean pop-ups place is selling soju places sell and of course i'm talking about the non-thai stuff and we got a massive somtam booth here oh haley's looking at some mango sticky rice made famous by thai rapper milly at the coachella music festival but i'm not gonna have mangoes tonight i told you i'm gonna have durians but i need something with a little more sustenance before i get to that [Music] give me a volume so this is canon chrome a nice little thai street treat and it's it's it's rice flour and coconut milk cooked in this cast iron almost like a waffle iron and then they put various filling inside so you can get it with taro with pumpkin with corn salted egg coconut is my norm that's what i that's my go-to but for the first time ever i'm gonna try chives and they cook it so that it's crispy on the outside and it comes in two halves and then they put it together to retain the gooey inside let's see how it tastes oh the chive is pretty good i've never had it with chives before i've only had the taro the corn and the coconut chives thumbs up i'm gonna go for the coconut now oh and look at that it's got flesh of coconut inside wow this one to me is always pretty good but haley has more discerning taste oh this is a yeah deal matt clapper [Music] so this is the famous thai icy machine so they spin it around and it turns a bottle of coke into a slushie instantly and on the spot look at that half the fun in coming to these types of night markets in bangkok is just watching them cook it's just so interesting to see and it provides a really really fun atmosphere whoa talk about if you like shellfish let me show you something so they got all kinds of shellfish here clams cockles mussels sweet shellfish this plate oh and my personal favorite hemp eggs [Music] have you ever seen these meat buildings look at these you've heard of the empire state building you've heard of the birds dubai in toronto we have the cn tower well in bangkok they have the meat buildings a bunch of soup some green spices what is the green stuff haley it's a lot of cilantro and chili look at this cilantro chili and then look at the size of that but fred flintstone would be proud [Music] you're the vlogger a youtube vlogger oh he knows us nice nice absolutely yeah before i came to thailand about 12 months ago um i found you and i was willian's fine so what's your specialty here uh tea leaf salad when you come to thailand you're going to be able to find a ton of burmese people here which means you get a ton of burmese tea leaf salad finished up with the burmese food and we're going to korea look at this it's like squid game over here why don't we do kai bye ball oh that's rock paper scissors in korean okay and then the the the winner gets to choose the other one's piece okay ready oh she won what are you gonna pick of course oh she's cruel haley had to pick the hardest one okay what are you supposed to do just like oh my god was that my those aren't like in korea oh my god i think it shattered my tooth thai person who sold that to me you got to learn to make them like korea they're a lot more flaky over there look at this though i told you i was going to eat some durian and now is the time away but i also told you that i was going to give away four free hotel nights to you so i'm gonna do that and then come
