Sri Lanka's CRAZIEST Taxi Driver
Good morning, guys and welcome back to another video here in Sri Lanka specifically in Kandy but actually not for long. I’m leaving this amazing villa that you guys probably saw in my last video had such a nice time here. So, we're actually, getting picked up right now by our squad and they're gonna be taking us up to Sigiriya actually. We're gonna be staying in a place that's closer to the main city called Dambulla for the next couple nights. I’ve been told it is a very beautiful place and a must visit spot. So, it's gonna be about 5,000 Sri Lankan rupees to get there. So, that's roughly about 25 if you're going off the
government's exchange rate we've got the usual guy here Luke Demant and he's looking like a cricket player this morning and then we've got a couple other Machans [bros] over here we got Machan [bro] hey we've got Ali. Oh hello. And we've got the British lad somewhere in here the British lad right over here. Hello, how are we? Good morning, everyone. He's still looking Colombian guys if you ask me. So, yeah we've got the the squad of the four of us four youtubers you know it's gonna be a crazy trip when that's the case and we're taking this thing up so we're gonna somehow try and fit all of our bags into here and it looks like we're coming up with a solution there not sure how well it'll work but we're gonna figure it out so yeah, we have one two three four five six use seven bags a big thanks to my man geegan if you guys didn't see the last video in the luxury villa here this is his place he rented it out to us for two nights and we had such a good time staying here so check that video out you're the man brother appreciate it we'll be chilling soon. Yeah, now we have the whole crew it's a little packed in here but it seems like they're working out just be very careful because my laptop's up top and if that thing breaks, I’m flying back to the US tomorrow and ideally, I don't make a vlog flies back to US for two hours flies back to Sri Lanka would not be a vlog I did not expect this would be spot on. Yeah, as you guys can see I’m in a pretty good mood because I have the front seat fresh air coming in and nothing bad. Maybe it's sweet as well dude yeah, they're chilling they're chilling oh, wow they got a little boat out there they're digging oh they've got their own homemade islands that's pretty sweet yeah so, we're cruising right along this lake here we've got about two hour drive but the way the the way machan [bro] drives because I had him in a previous ride he gets us through these hills and mountains very quickly. it's a fast one turbo extra power. Subodesina [Good morning] Guys probably the longest part of this entire road trip is just getting out of Kandy. I noticed yesterday you guys probably saw in the video when I climbed up to the top of the tower that like midday during the week there's just so much traffic it's very very congested here and so pretty much the only way you're getting through this traffic is if you got a tuk-tuk or you got a motorbike and then you could basically sneak through all the tight little spaces where cars and buses can't get through but it seems like we're starting to move we're we're seeing a little bit different of a side of Kandy than we've seen before hello machan [bro] Oh, he winked at me that was very nice. Wow, now that's some long bamboo right there wow crazy oh and we're passing the truck we're going full speed we're going straight for this bus. Good driving machan [bro] there we go full speed ahead. What's going on in here deli? Oh, that's an egg? You're eating it? Whoa you got it in your mouth it tastes good anyone want it oh no they're super sour I think I think I’ve had them Yeah Does it get me high? What is it? Is it bad? Oh, he's just chewing on it.

Guys want to know something that's crazy so like there's so many shops called mac Mac cars Mac homes Mac lanka when I was in Colombo there was like Mac tiles, Mac doctor's office and I was like wow I can't believe Mac is so popular here but I guess it's only for shop names and then we were just in the city Kandy and for those of you guys that think my name is actually World Nomac my name is actually, Mac Candee so it's quite ironic being in Sri Lanka where I’m seeing my name all over. So, that's how I

We've got some Sri Lankan traffic up here we got a cow in the road you know what I gotta say to that one move out of the way yeah, yeah good one oh we got a laugh out of him. These guys won't laugh because they've heard it a million times hello machan [bro] yeah, that's Sri Lanka for you guys if you saw in Colombo we were just cruising back after the haircut video and there was an elephant just walking down the road oh my god guys we are coming along Sri Lankan traffic right here Sri Lankan traffic in the road that is an elephant so that's traffic out here sometimes you got cows sometimes you got wild dogs sometimes you got elephants porcupines we saw last night coming home oh my god that is a porcupine I did not expect this there's just a little bit of everything running around further down south we might even run into some leopards we shall see though. Guys, we're starting to get into a bit more of a rural slash mountainous area as you can see, we've got some higher peaks kind of surrounding us and the roads around here getting a bit windy and curvy of course we got another perro [Dog] We got crazy jeeps coming up this way.
Alright these trucks all over the road here. Not gonna lie probably wouldn't trust myself if I was a driver here really gotta pay attention because at any given moment you got cars coming one way we got them pulling out of the driveway trucks pulled over on the side madness. So, you guys if you look out here, we almost have like a Bali like view I’ve never been to Bali but this is what I imagine lots of different areas of Bali to look like fields mountainous landscapes and palm trees it's a certified vibe as you can see guys, we're making progress that's Dambulla 47 kilometers so I would estimate we're like 40 minutes away roughly maybe 50 minutes I guess it depends on the speeds we're moving but it seems like we're getting into a bit more of a somewhat populous city. What's the name of the city? City name? City name here? Matale. So, guys welcome to Matale it's actually, much bigger than I expected when I looked at the cities along the map Matale.

Alright guys I’ve actually been meaning to take you with us for a trip to pizza hut because actually when I was in Colombo you probably saw my video when we went to Giovanni’s which is apparently Colombo’s best pizza and so I remember reading the reviews and someone wrote like until I had Giovanni’s pizza it was my number one I thought they were joking but then I was talking to some Sri Lankans later and they're like no like pizza hut here is like a really nice like dining experience, they spice it up a little bit differently and so of course we're doing a little impromptu spontaneous stop here to get some of the delish chow. Pizza for you yeah perfect.
We got Ali so hungry he jumps out of the car while it's moving, I’m hungry bicep tires gotta fill up those biceps. So, we got the squad ready to go it's time oh that the my box has got my name on it Subodesina [Good morning] my friend. Thank you. So, I was told that Sri Lankan pizza huts have like a really good Sri Lankan type of pizza here It's spicy alright that's spicy and that's like medium spicy very spicy it's it's more spicy and very tastiest one. Oh yes please could I please have the double cheese and chicken you're going to eat here or take away here please and then no onions or no jalapenos I got them it's jalapenos we're seeing how close they were paying attention no you're just sure. They don't really call it jalapenos the weirdos wait really. and then I’ll do a personal and I’ll get it I’ll get yours too what would you like and you one more question I want to make the bills separate I’ll pay for these two get whatever you want serious discussions going on here everything's good? What's he saying? He is asking that how are you going to make the bill all together or separate.
I’m getting my own pizza and I’m getting his pizza and I’m paying just for these two anything for a drink Coca-Cola, Sprite? Coca-Cola for me And you? Coca-Cola? Two Coca-Colas please. Two small coca-colas okay but I had only one pizza for you so what about you? Yeah what pizza do you want? Mixed one? Do you want the same what Okay so your total is 1533. Oh, perfect so as you guys can see two pizzas here and a drink comes out to about 1500 so that is roughly seven dollars for us to get our own personal pan pizza hopefully it's gonna be large enough to fill up the bellies but I think it will be we got a nice ice cold Coca-Cola to get some caffeine. You like it good Coca-Cola yeah perfect very good.

Is that gonna be fresh out and this is oh we gotta deliver this one to our machan [bro] over here alright yeah yeah, did you just touch that hold on course the Aussie just grabs on when you're trying to see if it's hot you just tap it once yeah, be careful yeah, oh there we go and king Ali does it again, biceptar king enjoy enjoy this looks good guys it's it's a little smaller than I oh yeah you weren't lying that is hot I’m gonna actually, pull this thing right out of the pan though guys that's the key because if it's in the hot pan it's gonna stay hot longer oh looks like I got jalapenos on mine alright we're gonna we're gonna pull these guys right over oh yeah that is super-hot let's get this bad boy popped right up on there delish chow oh yeah it doesn't look as pretty as it did but there we go we'll scoop a little bit a little something something right there thin crust the lad goes thin yeah, I don't know how he's already in isn't that super-hot yeah yeah, he's burning his tongue way too hot for me so I was gonna go for chicken but there's something else that is better than chicken double chicken oh let's go chow down bro oh that's so hot and I can't believe he's going for it wow ooh baby oh that's stringy middle name string goliath. Alright guys we're gonna go ahead oh that is hot I’m so hungry can not wait any longer.
Double chicken is tasting G triple O D. But yeah, guys it tastes similar to pizza I’ve had around the world I honestly have always loved pizza because the way they make their crust it's almost like oily when you bite into it like chews down crunches and like it's just such a nice flavor to it but it's got its Sri link-- but it's got a Sri Lankan you know twist to it here we've got the spices in there I got medium spice we did order no jalapenos also known as jalapenos and they came on so we're gonna eat them anyways. You guys already last piece here I think this is gonna be one bite. Harry has graciously donated me a piece of pizza and this is the spicy one he had what's the name of it. Spicy chicken thin crust. Spicy chicken is the name of it so we're about to find out how spicy it actually is. Not bad comparing the two I like the thick crust better so the pizza like I was telling you guys earlier I love the type of crust where it's just like doughy and almost oily and the thin crust you almost miss out on like what I think is pizza hut's competitive advantage definitely still a good pizza though. Guys a very delicious meal here at pizza

For me no. I will literally get sick. Oh, there we go almost getting ran over by the bus right there these buses drive crazy we'll definitely take you guys on a cruise at one of these to one of these locations we're gonna go in the next few weeks but you see they're always all over the road they dominate the road they're the kings of the road out here Head on for him and boom dodge it just in time it's our man driving running the road road warrior Yeah, exactly the betel in that kicking in get a solid buzz what was it like? So, I made a complete mistake you're supposed to take a tiny bit of the packet and chew on that I took the whole packet two leaves this much lime and a whole betel in my mouth was burning for a whole week my throat was messed up it was not good I had to sit down and focus on not dying I don't recommend it. Oh it's brutal yeah Luke, you had it too right yo you heard the betel nut yeah, it's crazy it's not super crazy it's just like a very like euphoric feeling and it tastes horrible but it's like got chemi like the the pink limestone stuff it's like it burns your tongue and stuff yeah probably Ali had the whole leaf but you're meant to like make a tiny bit the limestone we use it back in the UK to clean the kettles and the taps with --like acid right exactly So, it just burnt everything but it's good it burnt all the jumps in my mouth so it gets gets the job done here you're gonna try it bro hell yeah oh yeah oh, he'll do it again alright like when I was a kid I tried out chewing tobacco like maybe a handful of times and every single time I threw up made me so sick. We're making a stop at the gas station just I’m sure you might be curious how much is gas here and it looks like rupees it's 177 rupees per liter so that comes out to about 75 cents roughly for liter. The bank rate more like 60 cents at the black market rate more like 60 cents per liter So not super expensive to pull up the car that's why most transportation is actually, relatively pretty inexpensive like I told you at the beginning of this video the drive basically from where our villa was in Kandy all the way up to Sigiriya area it's about 5,000 just under 5,000 rupees so nearly 23- 24.

Nope. Alright good to be back on paved roads cruising through the countryside that's some sort of farm going on out here. Machan [bro] hitting those bumps like there's no tomorrow 600 meters left turn 10 minutes alright perfect so guys we've actually just arrived to where we're gonna be staying we're literally like way out here in the jungle so it'll be a pretty cool experience as you can see it's a nice sized villa and you're just kind of like away from everything we'll do a tour they're just finishing up some cleaning so, we'll do a little tour for you guys shortly here oh yeah, we got ourselves a nice little vibe city pool Subodesina [good morning] Oh, very good oh it's nice good temperature there we go yeah so guys when you walk over here you almost got this massive like concrete area that they built the pool into a really modern one too oh, jets too jeez we're living on on some good terms these days what do you think are you jumping in I was tempted to jump in fully clothed but yeah, I’ve done that before yeah well better better get her done nope it was meant for this to happen. Alright. Enough my guy. Doing doing just a little bit how does it-- How does it look over here? Oh, I must have lost my sunglasses actually, now that I think about it oh, there we go yeah there we go I was just realizing what happened to my sunnies let's see if I can go swimming with a hat on I was shocked it came off oh, guys we're just chilling here right now we last we booked this place last minute so the staff had to come over get the place all ready but I’ll tell you the first place to stop at the pool is nice and relaxing because actually when you look out this way we have a river that kind of stretches along the perimeter and at the time right now we're getting close to golden hour so everything's lit up in a nice gold and relaxing feel and then just a few moments when they finish setting up the house we'll take you guys in there for a full room tour alright we're gonna cruise back to the house see if the place is ready as you can see it's a nice little nature walk the pool is right back there where we just left the boys cruising through here and very fresh in terms of the air here oh no city pollution just the sweet smells of super luscious forest surrounding us and right here up to the left we have even a little hangout spots up there with maybe 10 different chairs there so this room this house has some serious area for activities oh perfect we have a clothesline since harry pushed me in fully clothed I don't need a place to dry at all yeah, I guess that's a deal so we've got one here oh oh, oh yes I picked the best one I definitely picked the best one. Please don't be bad. Oh, wait oh it's cold. oh, oh oh yeah you picked the same thing yeah, that's not that much yeah yeah yeah exactly alright well I better get my bag in here so.
Alright then let's see what else we got going on here Alright let's see oh yeah, we definitely made the right move yeah What are those bathrooms attached to each oh yeah look at that high ceilings concrete shower very modern cool design it's definitely got your vibey definitely got its vibey feel in here I’m guessing-- This is what it's not a match she said coming into those three rooms. Oh okay Hello sire. so, as you can see guys this is my room got a nice comfortable vibe there kind of like a little side bed there multiple beds there and then a very nicely designed bathroom as you can see here big shower I like the concrete style it's like very modern sleek almost like an industrial modern which is cool candles even going in here and it's ice cold so that is great so what's what's the deal then there's only three rooms? Perfect so one two three one two three okay Oh, they'll get made up okay oh, she meant not available it's not available yet Oh, yeah perfect that's two days perfect well winners win. yeah, I knew as soon as you had a good one I was like match the room so the front room yeah, exactly yeah yeah, I was like this is the front view easiest to run out if there's a fire.
Well, the good news is this whole house is like made out of like concrete so it could pretty much survive everything you know like that's all like most of the composition of the walls that I’ve seen in here are like really thick concrete so that actually helps with keeping it cold too but the AC is kicking in there too so it's a nice place it's I would I would basically rate this place as a spot you'd want to hang out if you really want to get away from like the busyness of life have your own space hear the birds chirping when you wake up and have just like a comfortable stay so the real question is going to be how is the wi-fi so we're going to see if we can tackle this now without my camera going apparently, there's a gym this way I gotta get my summer feed going oh, are we literally getting yoked right now there's no way it's a gym he's gonna shock us oh, more bedrooms up there. And then we're walking in the back over here guys a lot of space to kind of just hang out multiple picnic tables oh we even sorry we even have a we have a sorry we've got a digital nomad spot out here we've got outlets so we can grind outside Temperature. Tell me you're a vlogger without actually, telling me you're a vlogger bum bump and then his temperature taker and I’m sneaking right past oh, we got a piano and there you go we got v killed piano with Ali new YouTube name. pretty good bravo bravo Honestly like incredible yeah like grades do they do grades in America? Yeah yeah grade 10. Alright let's see it then. The living area is nice comfortable what else we got over here we've got a little kitchen area set up as well not sure if there's any areas that are off limits or what to do well, we even have a stereo system over here whoa so, we can put on some wow some serious tunes these are huge speakers they must just want you to party here you see that bro let's go you guys see how big the sound system is whoa. We're about to start out. Yeah exactly yeah, are there waters in there negative no we got the workstation going with the boys here let's go sun's starting to go down and yeah guys so, the place we're staying at it's about it is 145 dollars per night so for two nights it's like 290. So, it comes out to like 37 dollars per person to basically
have this massive place really nice staff here they actually just brought us up some coffees but already slammed them and you can actually get like breakfast here dinner lunch basically any meal you want made by the staff here for like a small extra charge there is transportation that can provide you it's a bit more expensive than or quite a bit more expensive than like market rate we'll find out if there are other options easily the place is obviously you guys saw on the drive here it's very far away from like all of the main cities so you got to go far back into basically these roads that are mostly dirt as you saw and so yeah that is the place guys it's a cool place to stay at for sure like you saw in the bedrooms you could easily fit especially if you have you know couples that are staying here like 10- 15 people in this place comfortably a lot of room for activities outside and inside and so yeah that's the place we'll be hanging out the next couple nights and so make sure you guys look out for tomorrow's video we're going to be showing you one of the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka and you'll have to subscribe and hit that like button today to find out what it's going to be tomorrow so I’ll see you guys then thanks so much for watching [Music]
