So Grateful! This Guy Saved My Life In Korea! (Bike Touring Korea #12)
well, I'm back I landed about a couple hours ago got a couple things taken care of I got my SIM card got some money got my kimbap and I got my bike and so this is what I'm looking at I got to go put my bike together now and so I took an overnight flight from Bangkok I left at 2:20 a.m. I got here at 10:00 a.m. so I didn't get the the best sleep but I feel okay happy to be here uh first and foremost I want to get my bike put together so I think I'm going to go straight to a bike store and uh get that taken care of right now so let's go catch a taxi the famous area because of so many people from South Asian country because there are so many banners in this area? a Korean k-pop star okay I just walking through it's kind of cool it's all lit up but uh kind of funny so I've been spotted so my taxi driver, he walks up, and he looks at me, he's like I know you and so he said he uh saw my videos just yesterday but actually, he said you saw my videos in Japan too? is that right? yeah. so he said he saw my videos like even in Japan so that's uh that's kind of cool but wow this is a nice one I cannot believe that fits in there I will I will thank you Charles it was a pleasure to meet you all right now the fun part begins time to uh unpack everything put it all together let's do it let's get it over with still strong still strong I don't know how long these are going to last but they still got some life in them Rockbros this box is so small worked out in the end I was able to get it into a regular taxi but it's much easier when you have a bigger a bigger uh box because my bike is huge and I had to take the entire bike apart pretty much or I to take more apart than I usually do so it's going to be fun putting it together I'm looking forward to it dry bag hammock sleeping bag mattress mattress got wrecked maybe it's not for a new one maybe it's time for a new mattress back rack yes got to put the bike together I have my front bag my handlebar bag right there my sign my awesome sign that I got made in Indonesia for 10 bucks this is freaking awesome uh and then my other bags that go on the bike and uh look at this this is my bike are you kidding me um bottle bottle cases bottle racks then yeah this is the first time I've ever had to take the front fork off usually I have a bigger box and uh I can just take the front wheel off and put it all put the whole thing in there but because the box is so small we had to take this guy off so I'm going to have to figure out how to put it on at the end of the day I'm just learning more about my bike and so uh that's that's a good thing so just take it as a learning opportunity get more acquainted with the bike all right and that's it everything's out now let's put you together so yeah we had to take everything apart since I took the front fork off we had to take the braking mechanism off and so I'm going to have to reapply that so yeah usually it's not this difficult I had to get some help there we go this is exactly why I wanted to come to a bike store because they would have professionals here he looked at my brakes and he was like they need adjusting he was like, can I help you? please do so thank you thank you thank you I would have figured it out it would have just taken me all day he's got the tools he's got the know how it's just like Bam Bam Bam all right we got a bicycle we got a bike uh now it's time to uh now it's time to degrease it clean it up and uh get it Road ready so let's do it all right now the last thing is just all about getting everything where it needs to be in the paneer bags and so when I packed it to uh to check in the airport I kind of mixed a lot of stuff up but when uh when I'm riding around on my bike I have everything in uh in its exact location like where I where I like and so uh now it's all about just putting it where it needs to be so thank you so much you saved my life thank you thank you thank you man, that guy saved me a lot of headache and saved me a lot of time so I can't thank this guy enough honestly thank you all right woo all right guys we are back on it the Korea tour round two starts now I'm already tired I mean it's already 4:20 what is this all barb-wired up protected like a prison hm it's kind of interesting got a nice field over here kind of looks like a golf course but I don't think it is but like I saying I'm tired didn't get much sleep last night on the plane and uh like you guys warned me it is freaking hot and uh yeah I'm already worn out 4:20 right now but this is the plan so I was looking at the map and kind of figuring out where I want to go and there's an island kind of tucked away in the Northwest part of South Korea and I'm like all right let's just go check out that area area first and then and then kind of swing down towards Seoul and so I was going to go to Seoul like right away but nah let's just go uh let's go get on the bike and explore a little bit and uh go see some new things let's do it damn now now this looks dangerous especially with my bike being as heavy as it is uh oh yeah and I bet going up this thing sucks too check this out a nice painted mural Tunnel right here you got some uh some mountains covered in snow you have a beautiful-looking tiger look at that nice and over here you have flowers and nice lake Bambi I think it's the tunnel of Four Seasons and here you have autumn over here summer I hope it's prettier on this side please be prettier please be prettier nope that didn't take long looks like I found myself in a pretty good sized city which is good cuz I'm hungry I've only had that kimbap all day let's go get some food damn this city has a huge square look at this and I don't know if you can see that but on the top of that building over there on the corner wow those cicadas are loud there's that plane but look at the beak on the end of it what is that? I thought I was kind of heading out to the countryside but this is not country check it out they have the hangover soup the beef blood, the stuff that I had where was that not really sure where it was but I've had that before yum this tissue has no chance my hands are so dirty back in the land of sides love it that's so freaking good I'm so hungry I'm tired been traveling all day putting that bike together too exhausting even though that dude that guy pretty much did all of it but I mean I did my share too but I'm tired comes out boiling hop piping hop boiling over look at that looks good not really sure what's in it I don't think it's beef blood but there's a big bone okay wow lot of pepper on there look at that bean sprouts let's give the broth a try you can tell there are tons of seasonings in here wow big old pieces of meat there's some meat for you mhm M so tender that's good that is freaking good and it's hot so hot I love it comes with three big pieces of meat bones there's one look at this one two look at the size of that and then this one over here it's mostly bone but there's still a lot of meat in there one of those meals you kind of have to work for a little bit but it's good look at the meat it's nice and pink I think this is oxtail by the shape of the bone looks like a vertebrae I think that's what it is I mean it is mostly bone but there still is a lot of meat on there too you just kind of have to work for it is pretty spicy though all that pepper mixing in with the broth and it's hot the lady she's so sweet she uh she brought over a fan for me too I didn't even ask for it she brought it over for me excellent first meal that was amazing exactly what I wanted some hot soup nice flavorful hot soup uh the meat, rice, all the good sides all right now I'm good to go for real though why is this city so nice there's a nice cafes and shops and walkways and I don't know little things like this like art all over the place had to find me some of this uhhuh and a very reasonable price 6500 7,000 yeah we doing this all right all right, man isn't that cute? it's a small little guy all right got some ice cream got the almonds got the condensed milk the red bean paste nice and sweet crunchy almonds how's that shaved ice mhm got this sticky rice chewyness ah it's so good I'll be eating a lot of these and I guess I did it to myself eating so many bingsus at the beginning of my Korea trip if you would like to buy me a bingsu (bingso?) you can and so I'll leave a link in the description below a lot of people have chipped in and bought me coffees and bingsu and left super chats and super thanks and can't thank you enough like honestly you're going to make this second Korea trip so much better in that like I don't have to worry about if uh bingsu is 12,000 you know so honestly thank you so much for everyone that's chipped in everyone that's watched the Korea videos watched the uh you know everyone that's liked and commented and all that but yeah sorry I'm uh I'm kind of tired today like a little low energy today but I'm sure you guys understand I had a long day and uh hopefully I'll find the energy probably tomorrow all right so this is where I am and then this kind of where I'm heading up here and this is the border right here to North Korea back in the land of tall apartment buildings those are huge look at that though that ain't too bad that's pretty damn beautiful going to have a nice Sunset over the Han River yeah I got to get to the other side of the river and then uh kind of going Northwest is what I'm aiming for off in that direction and it looks like there's just a lot of big city off in that direction off in that direction everywhere you turn you see huge massive apartment complexes kind of thought I was uh getting out into the small towns if I went far enough Northwest but I guess not I guess it takes a while all right so I found the bike course kind of looks like uh every other one that I was on when I went from Busan to Seoul straight a lot of trees a lot of people out this one's a little different you see this one has a lot of barbed wire on top of a fence right there blocking you from going to the river and if you look out there there's a sign that says mine and so you don't want to go walking out there cuz she might lose a limb a little more serious around here I'd say all right so I'm really out in the middle of nowhere so I pulled up uh a hot spring or an Onsen or a sentou a public bath whatever you want to call it and that's where I'm heading and so I don't know where I'm staying tonight I've heard you can stay at the hot spring bath houses apparently here in Korea and so I'm going to see if I can that'd be awesome but uh if not I would love just to shower up and clean up and that would just make me feel 10 times better oh man in the middle of a beautiful rice field maybe I can find a park or something around here and uh when it gets dark post up the tent, sleep and get up early and go we'll see we'll see there we go all right so this is what I'm doing tonight I got a hotel room because I don't think there's anywhere to camp out here um it just wasn't looking promising at all just absolutely nothing and so no parks on the maps nothing and so um that's fine I found this place uh I was able to get him down to 30,000 started at 40 he went down to 35 I went and stood in the parking lot looked on my phone I wasn't even like you know holding him off or anything but he came out and he was like okay you know 30,000 I was like deal but I'm going to have a nice shower and clean up and a nice rest because actually I need it I definitely need it so all right I don't know if I'm going to end the video here or start a new one tomorrow with new energy and a new day but we'll see uh thanks for watching you know give this video a like thumbs up comment and uh more to come from Korea hopefully it'll be more exciting than this day so all right I'm going to get some rest Texas Barbecue Blue Smoke wow okay first impressions legit this is it this is good okay some of the houses over there you do see clothes hanging up so they're not all empty but he [Music]
