Shopping, Exploring, and Not a Single Party | A Day in Miami Feat. Special Guest!

Show Video

Good morning, everybody. We are in a different place. We are in America. We are in Miami Beach, South Beach.

This is my first time in the States after about... I don't know, the last time I came to the States... Well, especially by plane was when I was like three years old, I think... I know it was a long time ago. And we got here last night. The immigration was crazy long and we're only here for about two days, So we're trying to make the most out of it.

And today, I'm going to take you guys along with me on a day in Miami. We have a few different plans. We're gonna do some shopping. We're going to do some exploring.

Last night, we kind of walked around the main strip on Ocean Drive. We got to see some of the flashy lights, and we ate some amazing corn, Mexican corn. And right now, we're basically waiting for the breakfast hour to be upon us. So we're going to head down to the beach, which is literally right there in front of our hotel. So we're going to walk down there and check out what, the... the Pacific or Atlantic. "The...Atlantic!" Hi Mama Sue!

the Atlantic? Yep. We're gonna go check out the Atlantic Ocean in Miami Beach. So, let's go. Let's go and start our day. And I hope you guys enjoy So one thing I noticed about Miami is that there's actually...

so there's a lot more people than I am used to seeing, ever. There's never this many people in Quepos. It's so bright. This beach is so weird compared to Costa Rican beach. I feel like... it's fake. Who am I to say that? I don't know.

It's also really windy Oh, my God. It's so windy! Okay. The water is kind of cold. It feels pretty much exactly how it would feel if I were to be in a river or a waterfall in Costa Rica. But it's refreshing. And the color of it is so nice. It's like bright blue, and it's very clear.

So it's so different from what I'm used to, but Mama Sue is starving to death, so we're going to go and figure out our breakfast situation. I want, like, three more coffees to fix this. So we're going to head out and figure out where we can go and get something to eat. We made it to a restaurant. It took a few minutes to figure out where we want to go, and we decided not to get the free breakfast at the hotel because we didn't feel like sitting inside and having a free breakfast. Does that sound weird? But this place is called the Hotel of South Beach.

And it's pretty nice here. Fancy. We're just looking at the menu. I'm trying to figure out what I want to be completely honest with you guys. This area has been notably very expensive, and I know it's a tourist hotspot, so it's kind of a given. But yeah. Let's see what we can order and get our morning started. All right, so we just got our breakfast.

We got eggs, Benny, with a slice of ham. You can choose salmon as well. Oh, my God. That's a hot homefry. That's a hot one. So Mama Sue got the eggs benny, too.

We got lattes, and I am waiting on a mimosa, because I'm just out of it, and I need something to perk me up. I need some sugar in my blood, right now, so I'm going to dive right into this meal. And I'll tell you guys how it is later. We're heading out. That was a less than pleasing experience to be completely honest. I mean, the place is nice. Everything about it is nice.

But the food was a big "pffff" unfortunately. I just, I can't believe it. I don't know. I feel like the Mexican food we had last night was so good, but I don't know if we're going to have a pleasing experience with food here.. There's a I think it's a sandwich shop, that we're going to go check out, and it looks really good. So we'll have to wait and see how that goes. And it's extremely bright.

We're walking back to the hotel right now, and we're going to basically get our stuff together and head out again. And I think we're going to be heading over to Wynwood. So we've gotta cross over the bridge and we're going to be exploring a different neighborhood and doing a few purchases.

So, yeah, we're going to hotel. I'll see you guys in a bit. Okay. We just spent like 10 minutes here. Getting ready to go out for the day and...We're ready! We're going out on the town! Alright. So we are here in Wynwood now,

and I just spent piles of money on a brand new drone, and I'm so excited because I can finally give you guys better footage, better videos. I'm so happy! This place is really cool. There's graffiti and paint everywhere. Look at this.

We are going to walk around for a little while and just see what there is here. I don't really know which direction we're going, what we're doing and then we're going to head over to Lincoln Road, back on the other side, closer to South Beach. I guess...I'm pretty lost! We were going to eat there, but it's still way too early. And we're way too stuffed from our not so great breakfast, unfortunately.

So I think we're just going to keep walking around a little bit. And like I said earlier, we're gonna head over to Lincoln Road. I think it is Lincoln Drive, Lincoln Road, something and, yeah, keep exploring here a little bit. Okay. So we just had our photo op

and we're coming out of this little tunnel now and I have no idea where we're coming to. Oh, this is a really neat building. There's also city bikes all over the place that you can rent which was actually one of my questions before we came here, is if you can rent bikes or not. One thing that I'm noticing, is that you can really tell we're in a city because there is construction everywhere and I'm not used to seeing this because I live in Quepos, Costa Rica, where almost, well, not too much is happening there. We prefer the jungle, but yeah, this is weird. It's really noisy and unpleasant.

Okay, we've done some shopping. We are currently waiting for our Uber basically where we stopped or like where we got out of the Uber originally and we are heading to the Apple Store on Lincoln Road, Lincoln Drive, Lincoln something. So I'll see you there. Okay. We are here by Lincoln... Something. Lincoln shopping area.

We just went to the Apple Store, and what we're going to buy is completely sold out, of course. And we didn't think about that initially, so we left empty handed. So this is kind of interesting there's actually a lot of, like, shops, but what we are looking for right ths second is something to eat and some drinks. I desperately need a drink of water or something else...Maybe! But yeah, we're hungry and we're gonna go find something Alright. So we have made our way to "La Cervceceria de Barrio" and this is a pretty cool place, actually.

They have, like, big red umbrellas with cute little wicker style lighting and there's a fountain right behind me. Sorry we had to order drinks. The girl came out of nowhere! So, we're going to... We just got our water and I ordered a cerveza michelada. And for something like this in Costa Rica, I would normally pay maybe 2000 to 3000 Colones for that. Like $5-6. And here I'm paying $11.

we need to see what kind of food they have. It's all sort of Mexican food, so I guess we're going to have more Mexican food. Two days of Mexican. I have no issue with that.

So we're gonna check out what we've got here. And then after that we're going to do a bunch of shopping still because we haven't barely explored this area and there's a lot of shops to go through. So I'm going to check out this menu and we will see what's going on with that. Mama Sue got her nachos and I got some shrimp tacos and they're like, they're not as crispy as I expected them to be. that tastes really good.

Alright. We've officially stuffed ourselves, had a couple of margaritas and it's shopping time. They have all kinds of shopping here with Urban Outfitters, Victoria's Secret, Sunglasses Hut, American Eagle Outfitters. So, where to start!? We've done quite a bit of walking and shopping around.

We haven't successfully purchased anything. I think Mama Sue bought one thing, perfume and we're starting to get pretty tired. Look at the sunlight! That's gorgeous. I think we might be trying to go back to the beach to catch Sunset because it's already about 4:35 And the sun sets here around 6:15 something like that We are back in the hotel.

We are currently in the restaurant below the hotel. With a glass of wine. We are going to have this drink. Then we're going to go get ready and we're going out for dinner. We're going to a French restaurant I believe, on Espanola Way. And so yeah, I'm going to drink this wine and watch this sky turn different sunset colors and I'll get back to you guys later It seems really zoomed in. What's going on there? There we go.

We've changed. It's very dark out. Sorry about that. It's about, what, 7:30? Yeah. And we are going out on the town. We're going to Espanola way. We're going to go and see if we can have a nice French dinner.

Nice. I hope it's going to be nice. And we've been trying to call all day, trying to make a reservation, but it seems like they just don't take reservations because they don't answer their phone. So we're kind of just walking blindly into this, but hopefully we get what we are coming out for. And I haven't showed you guys much of this yet, but this strip is colorful. Check this out. So last night we tried to walk along the other side of the street and you could barely walk because there are so many people. So we decided that tonight we're going to be on the other side closer to the ocean where there's almost nobody.

So we're off to a good start. And there's a better view of all the hotels and restaurants. Yeah. You can actually see things from this side.

Instead of just being so close and underneath everything. But yeah, I'm going to focus on walking We've made it to Espanola Way, and we bought some more souvenirs. Just when I thought I was shopped out, I clearly was not. So we are walking now, and I think we actually saw a place along the way that looked better than what we're supposed to go to, so. Oh, that's a cool bar.

So, yeah, we're going to go take a look. We're just going to take a walk around here to see what there is. And then we're going to probably head back to that other restaurant that we came across. We've decided. We came, we looked at the restaurant we were going to go to

and we're definitely going back to that other place that we saw This place - It's a little bit further away from our hotel about oh, I think we spent about 20 minutes walking now and I don't know, it's really loud. And there's a lot of people here, even though it is very pretty, it's maybe just not something that we're looking for right now. We kind of just want to be close to home and get ready for our day of travel tomorrow. And yeah, it's been a long day and all I want is a lovely Greek salad and a Greek cheese that is flaming.

And I hope to God that my last meal here is good We have arrived to the restaurant is called Salt Cafe and they have like some Greek food and that's what I'm trying to get up all over. And the music is so loud here, I can't talk too much Mama Sue is not impressed, guys. So we got a Greek salad and a Saganaki and that is a humongous wedge of cheese. And I have my whiskey sour. So far, so good.

We need to try this food though! Ow! Tastes good. Yeah. okay, guys, we are back in the hotel and it's like 11 p.m. and we have to be out of here tomorrow around 7/7:30 And I have to fit all this in to that bag. So I'm going to finish the video off here. Overall, this trip has been very interesting, I guess a little bit of a little bit of eye opening in a sense.

I really expected it to be a bit different, I guess in the sense where we're coming to America, I expected the food to be good quality and I don't know, I guess better prices and stuff like that. But I do understand we are also in a tourist hotspot. So how much can you really expect out of that? But yeah, regardless of that, the sights were beautiful. I got pretty much everything on my list that I want to get while I was here. And I'm excited to go back home to my beloved Costa Rica.

But yeah, I need to start on this packing, so I'm going to say good night. Mama Sue is already going to bed. So she says bye from afar. And we will see you guys very soon, back in Costa Rica and yeah, don't forget to hit that like button if you enjoyed this little adventure a day in my life in Miami Beach and subscribe to the channel for more fun stuff. And I will see you guys very soon. Good bye, everybody.
