SHOCKED At What I See Arriving In Ulleungdo! (Bike Touring Korea #27)
okay so all right man thank you so much I'll see you have a nice day thank you all right that right there is where we're going hopefully fingers crossed and so today I'm heading to Ulleungdo I'm then from Ulleungdo in a couple days I'm going to catch a ferry and go to Dokdo and so depending on how rough the seas are uh we might or might not be able to dock and so we'll see we'll see that's in a couple days but for now uh I'm in Pohang I just got dropped off by my new friend Lee Lee came to the rescue and so man I just have not been feeling very good the past four or five days since I got to Pohang I just I think my body just broke and so just kind of pushing myself too hard along the east coast there and uh man I think I caught a cold and coughing I'm still coughing so but uh I stayed at a jjimjilbang the first night I got a Airbnb for a couple nights and then I thought maybe I was going to go to Deagu and uh leave my bike there but then one of my subscribers, Lee, he reached out to me and said hey you can leave your bike with me and then when I met him he was like actually you know uh if you need to rest you can stay at my house and so he opened up his home to me I met his whole family super nice people and uh man I feel so much better I feel a hundred times better from the time I came to Pohang and so he helped me buy the tickets actually so Lee came through big time thank you so much and that's what we're riding over there the El Dorado so I've got my ticket booked to and from Ulleungdo and I already have my ticket booked for Dokdo and so the Pohang passenger ship terminal Hallelujah [Music] one gate one [Music] this is nice it feels like I'm uh going on like a little mini vacation I don't have the bike with me I just have a backpack it's nice hello, i know you oh no way how yall doing? good to see you i'm the bike rider but i don't have a bike first floor to the television and turn left that not too shabby look at this got your concession stand right here the boat is a rocking so uh I've gotten the green light go check out the business and First Class area the staff has been extremely nice to me extremely kind uh they gave me some complimentary coffee and they've given me some tips on what to do and see on the island so okay same kind of setup actually okay I'm going to go sit down I'm going go sit down this is the luxury right here yes follow me follow you okay follow you I was about to say this looks like a pretty unforgiving place right here can watch here oh all right kind of hard to see cause it's coming down look at this okay you can kind of see the harbor right there but man it's kind of hard to tell but you can just see the waterfall I mean just rushing down the mountain on both sides have a nice day thank you so much where am I going that way up there up there yep okay woo wow what a welcomeing jeeez look at that though all right so this is what we're doing I made friends with a couple here guy from Arizona and I believe his fiance or wife and uh perfect timing they're the ones I met uh when I was uh boarding the boarding the ship and well they recommended a place that they're staying at and uh that's where I'm heading we're going to split a taxi yeah oh thank like I I saw your video it was very good oh cool man great to see you like first time I'm seeing a YouTuber celebrity don't say that yeah it is crazy right now I hope you will stay safe here yeah hope so wow yeah looks pretty bad pretty bad all the best all thanks for saying hi thank you okay so yeah it's kind of uh looks pretty uh bad up here actually a lot of flooding going on oh my gosh oh my gosh yeah this is not good where did I come oh my gosh [Music] wow look at this flooding right now oh my gosh all right let's see it buddy let's see it hey nice all right yeah we as well just walk might I mean you can smell the mud you could smell the dirt um I don't think that's a good sign hopefully everyone's okay hopefully I mean is this the aftermath of a landslide like what is going on like the streets are covered in mud sticks and branches and rocks like what the hell happened? was there literally a down the mountain is there more to come like should we be worried? like look at this oh my gosh just walking in mud oh my gosh wow this whole place is flooded full of mud oh my God what is happening look at that coming down the steps right there this is wild [Applause] this ain't good this cannot be good this is crazy N I know like should we be worried? I mean no one else seems worried all righty so just checked in my hotel I'll show you that later but I had to get out and uh just see what's going on here like this is just crazy like some streets like this fine you know hardly any debris but then just right here wow crazy where they try to build a dam here good luck I mean where did these rocks come from that they're piling up crazy there's huge huge rocks right here okay so it looks like he's just winding down that street right there ah it almost looks like it's coming from a gutter too yeah it's coming from a hole in the ground a hole in the street over there is what it looks like what a mess and I was just about to say oh it's a good thing it's not really raining anymore can't say that anymore wow what did I just walk into jeez what a mess well might be uh stuck on the island for a few days might have to help out with cleanup and recovery or whatnot but damn look at this wow all right I think the uh only thing left to do now is just to uh pick up a shovel lend to hand so that's what I'm going to do go back to the hotel real quick and drop off my wallet my phone and then just come on out and see what I can do basically just making room for cars to go up and down I think getting all the mud out of the middle of the street on here getting all the rocks on the side of the road but I mean the rocks just keep coming [Music] stacking rocks making big pile of dirt is what we're doing it's crazy then some parts like this garage you got just what looks like thick chocolate milk, thick thick mud right here sludgy but all these little rocks and pebbles like they just keep coming down and filling up the gutters I mean the rain is still coming down a little bit Yeah I wonder what it looks like down in the basement of this uh parking garage yeah not good at all crazy, it feels like we just cleaned off this street and yet the rocks they just keep coming and Granny's working hard right here why thank you I'm happy to be here happy to be here I'm sure it's a beautiful island just got a little bad weather to take care of little bit of house cleaning right now to take care of on the island we'll get it all cleaned up though and here comes the rain again perfect how's it look compared to earlier yeah it's going to take a while to clean all this up one of the guys in the orange neon jackets just gave me one of these don't know what it is oh it's the rice drink refreshing it's crazy and all this water is coming from right here underneath the road right here and then some poor people got hit really really hard you see all the way back there in the kitchen back in the kitchen huh oh my gosh oh my gosh oh what a mess what a mess God that's terrible and this seems to be the source of the entire problem right here this water is pretty chilly too I mean I'm guessing it's river water for somewhere I think we just missed it like right when we arrived it had just happened I mean who knew what we walk into but yeah this whole police earlier it was all covered in mud and then this poor old lady's house down here just got drilled and the water is still flowing the street is still a mess at least in this area honestly you know I've walked around the city a little bit and it's it's pretty clean to be honest it's just this is kind of ground zero that's where the water's coming out and uh it's still flowing there's still mud and rocks at least right here but they finally brought out the big boys they brought out some tractors and some huge trucks and they're finally hauling some of this stuff off and so it actually doesn't look too bad down here it's just this area right here is still pretty beat up I mean this water's really chilly too so sure it's coming from way up in the mountains it's pretty crazy but I don't know if I'm going to upload this video like right away like as in tomorrow or if I'm just going to wait you know and upload it in a month or so we'll see I might go see how long the video is if it's only like 15 20 minutes I might as as well just go ahead and upload it tomorrow while the Ulleungdo flood is in the news and so maybe I can get some traffic that way to my channel people looking for you know uh footage of what happened here today because I got a lot and so maybe that's what I'll do I'll just go ahead and go back to my hotel room right now edit it and then get it out to you guys tomorrow so uh if you're new to this channel uh consider subscribing I'm cycling around Korea right now by bicycle and after Ulleungdo I'll be going to Busan, Jeju and then back to Seoul but anyways thanks for watching guys and I'll see you in the next video peace [Music]
