Sabah Food Tour...I fell in love with kelapa bakar
all right here we go and don't be shy trying new food for the very first time here in sabah hello good afternoon okay guys i believe this restaurant here we're coming for me which is a noodle dish that's quite popular up here in the north in sabah so let's eat and see if we enjoy it all right now guys to be clear ivana and i spent last night on montana island and so we are in full relaxation mode and so my point is if we fall asleep halfway through this meal it's not because the food is not good it's because our souls are still on the beach i think i can still hear the waves all right don't be shy go ahead oh my gosh it looks good right looks relatively chinese inspired yeah roasted pork and the yellow noodle is called meat or all noodles are called me no just the yellow one the yellow noodles are called meat or all noodles they called me oh no no i'll never call me sorry i can't talk i know i understand i i prepped them for our tiredness what's the flavor it looks very plain looks like no sauce i think it's cooked with egg you can see all the eggs maybe you should put the chili the chili looks very good actually the color of the chili looks very whoa don't be shy oh i always say i have a very spicy life my wife's very spicy yeah try with the cheese famous it looks quite good actually pork the chili is is maxelle tolerable or it's it's too spicy it's not too spicy oh it's vinegar chili yeah oh my favorite kind this is good compare it to the steamed prawns in seba cannot be bad it cannot be dead this is a different they're both good the noodle is very i don't know how they cook it kind of like almost not overcooked but like not al dente oh it's quite mushy it's not mushy it's quite mushy but it's still maintain its texture like still bouncy so it's kind of like it's hard to explain ah it's good boom all right without further ado i'm so hungry i'm about to fall off this chair and sleep on the floor i think the right idea is what ivana did is just go heavy devi with the chili sauce by the way oh good chili sauce it almost tastes like it almost tastes like frank's red hot sauce it does right tastes like franks which is a very american hot sauce in peninsular malaysia it's called tarshuni here is gold salsa sausage oh that's your shoe yeah oh okay guys don't be shy and south south yo the noodles taste like crap dinner the texture that's the texture i don't know if anyone watching knows a crab dinner is but it's like the cheapest it's like the american equivalent of making meat it tastes like favorite food this is really good food for me this is actually very familiar they cook it with eggs they cook it with eggs and you put this hot sauce which tastes just like frank's red hot american brand and honestly this is really good food with some charshu or choshu in the hot sauce yo this is really good i actually love this you love it you like it a bit or you love it uh it's very good it's like comfort meal you know it's very comfort food yeah it's very comfort food dude after mixing any island this is the perfect thing to the eat of the noodles is unbelievable it's very soft right very soft it's almost overcooked like you said it's almost like mushy absolutely five-star food i can crave this very cravable very oily and kind of heavy but very cravable oh really good food very good with the pork and roasted chicken one more chili sauce the sauce is so good for more chili mix it together awesome softer chili sauce and tea yo i'm telling you the chili is frank's red hot it's exactly the same flavor as frank's red hot which for me is my favorite chili sauce because not too spicy and very delicious now we got ourselves a orange plate this tastes like the asian craft dinner and frank yo this is so good food uh i have to say one i was waiting for you to say it absolutely five star food do you think it's kind of simple but it's very good i love this it's very simple but it tastes like a little bit cheese it tastes like dinner really nice food yeah so when i saw it it looked so simple and plain but it is so good absolutely five-star food this is the food you order to your house on a sunday morning when you're lazy you know oh my gosh it's the chicken yo looks good wow i tell you what absolutely five stars we'll see if this can beat the upcoming meal which is wild wild boar coming soon all right let's see let's see which one is a grand champion today this is surprisingly good dwarung me said that thank you guys i'm not exaggerating that food was so good five stars let's be clear six star food ivana thought it was okay but she does not know what she is missing what's the name of the restaurant we should shout it out yoon on food court tua rung me absolutely so good i feel like i've tasted it before i feel like i've had that before i think my past life i lived in food was so good in canada we have craft dinner frank's red hot and bacon common food into our rang it's tua rung me yellow noodles frank's red hot and charshu absolutely delicious if you're coming to sabah and you're not trying to run me i mean just stay home and watch your grass grow because you're missing out hey nice truck oh nice truck dude nice right very nice trucks actually true fact okay next up we are going to try another famous sabbatien cuisine wild boar how could that be bad so let's go for some wild war we have to get the food to move and then we'll get some wild boar okay let's go all right so i've got good news and i've got bad news the bad news is the wild boar is so delicious that it's sold out they have no wild boar remaining because everybody ordered it already the good news is i think halloween is coming soon because he's got a big pig mask over there so instead of ordering wild boar we just got a pig it is prepared in the same way it's very delicious looking and it's got some what i think is sweet soy sauce on it so it looks quite yummy because it's juicy and it's i mean it looks appetizing but it is not boring so this is how life works we got so lucky with those amazing tall run me those noodles that we had to we had to gain some over there and lose some over here we still break even yeah i think the place will be maybe similar but not really really hoping for a wild boar anyway go ahead yeah let's try you got this chili sweet soy sauce and chili does it taste like something you've never had before or does it taste familiar familiar soy sauce fingers so was really hoping for wild boar i guess the flavor would be almost the same but the texture would be a little different and it would just be a unique thing it's very sabaean to eat very good chili it's like bacon tastes like bacon i think it's like pork belly mostly so very flavorful the chili has got some vinegar in it so it's like um hot and sour very good although very good i have officially burned my mouth overdosed on chili my lips are burning so i'm told the pork soup will be the burning mouse here quite nice it's like pork i think it's just boiled pork with a bunch of uh veggies in it the brother is nice my lips are burning really bad and you guys can hear the traffic because local restaurant here roadside lori's passing by the guys over here are preparing the pork yeah all right we've got one more specialty dish to try as well as we will retry the wild boar in a few days so hopefully you can find it but one more sabahan specialty to try it was a shame is this pork was actually very good but i can't even give it stars because it wasn't world war and so expectations versus reality like soy sauce covered bacon very smoky delicious pork but no stars unfortunately and people who prepared it they kind of look malay but they're not all right there you have it guys one more specialty food to go let's go steaming steaming coconut steaming roasted barbecued coconut right on the side of the road kalapa pakar all right guys first time trying hot coconuts by the way everything here is coconuts so the fire that is cooking the coconuts is made from coconuts and also when the guy was cutting the coconut his gloves his little hand shield major coconuts yeah this table probably make coconuts didn't i the knife sharper coconut okay yvonne don't be shy oh my gosh look at this guys you can see the black skin not the skin what is this nut shell i would say shell oh my god it is so good is it good it's good it tastes like nice nice almost like warm milk to be honest it tastes like warm milk oh my gosh it tastes like warm milk for real foreign so funny because coconut is a is a beach thing it's a refreshing you know it's a cold thing in general it's it's like a cool-off thing yeah so we're going to go in for this hit of warm milk here oh it's really hot give me careful weekend smoke super duper hot yeah it's coconut tea isn't it i don't know if it's smoked or if it's steamed from the water or if it's smoked from the burnt shell yeah interesting very interesting i think i burnt my tongue be honest you just drink some yeah you're tough you're gonna get my sensitive milk okay drink slowly you'll mix it up but it smells like hot coconut this is interesting i've never had it before it doesn't really hot milk it does taste like hot milk it's really hot coconut to be honest it's really hot still how did you drink it not too much give me that guys give me a second all right let's try this again we did actually put a couple ice cubes in the boiling hot coconut water right to make it a little bit more manageable i can't believe you drink some already you burn your mouth a little bit a little bit you know what it tastes like it tastes very healthy doesn't medicine go hot i wouldn't say it's it's very interesting it tastes like watermelon it tastes a little bit like more milk actually it does have warm milk but coconut the coconut flavor in the warm milk right it's creamy somehow it's interesting it's very interesting the thing is a coconut plain is very good yeah i'm not sure this has improved the coconut flavor although the idea is people will drink this when they're feeling sick right evidently the medicinal benefits of coconut or hits your body way faster when it's hot to the top detoxifying hot coconut water perfect after our meal and after our pork it's kind of good i like it it's interesting does it taste smoky no tastes like milk to me i've never seen this before they don't have this in west malaysia no idea no idea are you gonna scrape some meat let's eat some meat hot coconut meat this is good i don't know you'll get some from inside hot coconut meat hot coconut meat any guesses soft try it how is it good this is a very good one it's it still tastes like coconut but there's a bit of difference to it really it's a bit like uh it's a bit like jelly oh interesting interesting interesting i'm not sure what to say hmm so not bad let me think of it i think i like you'll have to pardon uh lori's they're building the pan borneo expressway and so the road that exists now is using uh getting all the trucks there to build the new highway let me have some i wanted this house look at this okay okay let me grab some of the meat oh it's very easy to you one thing i'll tell you one thing uh my whole body is sweating oh my body got heated up very quickly my feet are sweating honestly it tastes like milk i don't know how it's so creamy tastes like milk a little bit you're right it's like milk i don't know how it's like does your body feel hot i think that's why it's detoxing oh that's the idea maybe it like cranks up your body he makes you sweat it out it's very good i like it okay i'll get it again the three things well really of the two things what's your what's your favorite sabbath food so far the coconut really coconut bacon it's so good it's like so unique i've never had it before this is my the first time in my life i've seen it and i've tasted it i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw it i'm like what they do that to
