Our destination today will be Prague, a magical city that feels like it has come out of a fairy tale , it is the capital of the Czech Republic with a population of about 1.3 million , its historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is truly unique. midday flight from Eleftherios Venizelos to Vaclav Airport in Prague. and the flight took two and a half hours to get to our hotel we had booked a taxi for which two people we paid 24 euros the journey time was about 30 minutes We arrived at our hotel room We can see this tower from our room and it has some neighboring houses and hotels the Czech Republic has its own currency the crowns and the first thing we did after leaving the hotel was to change currency We got the crowns and at a good price one euro at a rate of about 25 crowns Because we arrived in Prague in the afternoon our day closed with a wander around the area around our hotel where we returned to rest The next day Besides we would start our walk early in the historic center of the city looking forward to seeing the astronomical clock and the surrounding sights Good morning Today you will show us the breakfast of the hotel Yes Yes, let's go see it.
Nice Rich breakfast , it also has a lot of sausages, eggs, omelettes that they make for you too kind of sweets We are at the astronomical clock in the old town hall which is perhaps the most famous sight of the city here every hour when it strikes the twelve apostles come out of the two windows we see above and to the right and left there are 4 figures it is death that shows how small is life next to it is the Turk simulating lust on the left are two other figures the one holding the mirror indicates lust and next to it a Jew showing greed right next to them are the hands of the clock showing the time from sunrise to sunset and also the movement of the earth and the moon Central square of Prague right Right we will see the Virgin Mary right in front of us Virgin Mary Now it is not very crowded of course No here actually it is a place that combines many different architectural styles the Gothic which is the astronomical clock and here the Virgin Mary and next to it we have baroque and renaissance style and just a little the further one is the church of Agios Nikolaos with influence from the Habsburgs Leaving the square in the center of the old town you can meet Parision Street which is a shopping street with many brands we are in the Jewish quarter and now we will see the old synagogue which is located on Parision street in this area. The Jews had come in the Middle Ages , a large Jewish ghetto had been created , but here the buildings were demolished and today there are only five synagogues and only the one we see in front of us is working, we are outside the old Jewish cemetery inside in it there are about 12,000 tombstones visible But there may be as many as 100,000 graves in all these graves all Jews were a big ghetto here in Prague they were always buried in this area they were forbidden to be buried anywhere else and in it have been buried great personalities Lunch I see something in fast Yes yes something fast to take Good luck because in the evening we're going somewhere very nice that will have full food and dancing and fun.
