that's incredible oh [Music] [Laughter] what hello and welcome to a new episode of grizzly and there Overland with Lee and Stephy in Africa [Music] bye see you guys thank you a we left our friends anesta and Paul and we hit the road again this week we are heading Northeast as we make our way into Botswana VI the C prous stre oh no way that's incredible oh what [Laughter] oh that's um what is that classic we saw from the distance a massive amount of police and cars and everything I think a beer truck lost its entire cargo could smell it as we came along smell the [Music] Hops it a Servo food we're on the road trip trying to do a big day of driving today it's way hotter than what we thought it was going to be can I please off two of those please I got a chicken good chicken good pulle M this are like a a donut deep fried it's really tasty [Music] Cloud fire was your entire world until I still alone and stoam I I'm preparing some gem squash for dinner I've cut them in half and removed the center and boiled them and and inside I'm going to put some um cream corn cinnamon and a little bit of cheese you're going to like this I think have you ever heard it I don't think so on the bright I've got the fillet steak on the go just about ready I done no right actually it's gooded on that's okay nice and pink in the middle just a little bit more than what we would usually have cooked it's good fill it it's like a dessert thanks a lot a that's beautiful so nice isn't it we stayed in our little campsite SL Farm very nice campsite but it was nice enough it had a lot of better rev viws but honestly we don't understand why we tried to book another one and it was fully booked and this one was empty uh I think on the reviews on I of Lander people are just so harsh on their reviews oh wow that's super nice we just saw a sign for the caution uh elephants there is a real chance of seeing elephants in the proper wild now as we go further up to the caprivi and into Botswana no fences no Safari private safari park no National Park but just in the wild [Music] we just stopped on the side of the road because we saw a lot of little wooden ornaments I'm going to have a look and see if I can get a little souvenir yes I like it it's really like yes yeah a little wooden spoon for cookies can I please have this one okay then [Music] [Music] [Music] good enough you need to be level we are headed into the caprivi strip if you look at the map of Namibia it's a skinny little strip in between Botswana and Angola speaking of Angola that's Angola that's the okavanga river or okavango so it's actually just confused me a little bit there because it is Flowing Inland so I'll have to have a better look at a map and see where the source of the okavanga river is running for 1,000 600 kilm the okavango is the fourth longest river system in southern Africa it begins in Angola and discharges into the okavango delta in Botswana this River does not have an outlet to the Sea we just took a little Sid trck we are staying off the highway we found a gravel road that sort of follows okavanga River yet to see any hippos or elephants and we're doing lunch oh we had a little accident Q-tips everywhere everywhere well if that's the worst of it that's okay yeah epic location here it's it's really beautiful it's hot bloody hot our friends own eser and Paul warned us that it was going to get a lot hotter as we head [Music] north ham and cheese lettuce and crackers [Music] [Music] 100 you will your we in where in as usual we haven't booked a thing so we just thought we try our chances and um we were told by someone we we won't have much chance at getting accommodation especially up here in caprivi yeah number two is perfect here yeah reverse in Reverse in yeah right you'll have to jump out s for [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] because we going across the border into Botswana we can't take any uh fresh ingredient like eggs and dairy and fresh vegetables and fruit so I'm going to attempt to make kind of a cake I don't have any raising agent so might be a little bit dense but I'm going to put eggs banana cottage cheese flour blueberries so stephie's there prepping away with the okavanga river in the background how awesome she just saw a little baby crocodile before as well me yeah what's that oh so juvenile let's say he was a good size come back we're really hoping we're going to yeah maybe see more crocodiles and hippos I'm going to get the Bri on the go here because we've got some T-bone steaks to Bri and then Steph's going to throw the py on after uhoh we got our first first issue it's got CH in it Plan B I'm going to go with some uh Greek yogurt I didn't know if I was going to share this recipe because I wasn't sure if it was going to work give me a bit of time but at this point I decided to put everything into the blender for sweetener I used some dates that I soaked overnight and I blend it all with all the rest of the ingredients I've added the blueberries and I kept some aside for decoration just a little salt I'll share the recipe only if it's if it's a success so I'm doing all this filming but she said uh I might not even use it I'm sure it'll taste good anyway no matter how it turns out textuur think it's going to stick like crazy yep [Music] banana and blueberry I hope it works and we baked the cake for over an hour plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful sunset [Music] [Music] surely it's done another [Music] 15 it's good I think wow still a bit undercooked in the middle isn't it I'm sure it tastes pretty bloody Prett good you got some uh good butter to go on there no [Music] butter the cake was actually cooked overnight I put it in the fridge it has set beautifully this is very yummy breakfast for you really yeah I've been for a early morning run came back and this lovely little Frenchie has prepared this pretty incredible Brey messy enjoy thank you I already had my breakfast we spent the early morning down on this uh party boat down here watching the hippopotamus play in front of us pretty hard to get some good footage though cuz they only stick their nose and eyeballs out thank you you don't need to run thank you so much see the kids are watering the garden they got the oh they're doing gardening so Stephie brought with her back from France just a few packets of um colored pencils [Music] [Music] my I'm my [Music] boy an interesting article about yeah it's e reason Mak yes exactly it helps the community yeah they call these places living museums cultural Villages set up for the tourists to come and experience I think they do art and craft they teach you how to make the the bows and I'm hoping cuz I've had a bucket list item since I was a kid to make some fire with a stick I don't know if they do that here but maybe they can teach me so we call him is Bushman Sun people are known as hunters and gatherers 80% of what we eat come from the Sun ladies Sun ladies go for for Gathering early morning and late afternoons 20% is from the Sun men from hunting we don't hunt if there's meat at the Village we only hunt if there's nothing we give each other tasks like three ladies who stay at the Village look after children of everyone so the mothers go out for Gathering food that's why we make sure that all the women are mothers of every child at the Village the activity that you're going to witness today is called life in the village [Music] [Music] we like and you something the indigenous sand people or Bushmen are part of the all the surviving cultures of southern Africa we drill and we make fire so men and a wom the total population is estimated to be 105,000 27,000 in Amia alone ah [Music] [Music] I'm loose then I'll no get married that's how our traditional are doing okay if I win then the family must get the fire and they must also cook the meat onto the fire then I must stay single [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so now Hana went at the Village so it was evening time so he he was hiding himself checking with the French dog dog is still lying on the the ground [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] spee [Music] a means us to stay well and we respond that means you to go well so you can try to say thank you so much for watching today's episode we hope you enjoyed it next time we will take you to Botswana for some wild adventures until then take care bye-bye [Music]
