Leave a comment From the lobby, guests are taken to their villa by their butler All guests get bikes to get around and explore the island Guests of Grand Villas or Residences get their own golf buggy The island stretches across 44 hectares (109 acres) in area and features 6 km (3.7 miles) of coastline with 12 beaches This overwater bridge at the center of the resort is one of the most photographed locations on the island One&Only Reethi Rah features 118 villas including 90 beach villas and 28 water villas I stayed in this beach villa with pool during my holiday A bottle of Champagne, fresh fruits and chocolates are offered as a welcome amenity The ensuite bathroom is equipped with double vanity and an over-sized, custom-made terrazzo bathtub placed at the window The bathroom also has a walk-in shower, which offers the option of a rain shower or a power shower The Asian inspired design blends elegance & style with natural materials such as coconut shell, sea grass, silk and mahogany The villa’s expansive garden & beach area features a private pool, large veranda, lounging area, hammock and sun beds The villa is traditionally thatched by local craftsmen and features large terraces made from Balan wood from Malaysia Let's take the bicycle to visit one of the resort's water villas Connected to the island by overwater walkways, the water villas are set in small clusters of four villas dotted around the island Each water villa is positioned to face a different direction, offering seclusion and lovely vistas of the turquoise ocean One&Only Reethi Rah was designed by famous architect Jean Michel Gathy, Director of Denniston International Architects Gathy created a design that lived up to the resort's namesake (Reethi Rah means Beautiful Island in Dhivehi) The villas were designed to be architecturally simple on the outside with flamboyant interiors that use tropical materials Let’s explore One&Only Reethi Rah’s main guest area, which features two pools, a beach club and a dining complex The shaded family-friendly infinity pool has gentle curves, creating natural inlets for playing and splashing There’s also a separate kids only pool, which has its own lifeguards for fully supervised fun Right in front of the family pool is Reethi Beach, one of One&Only Reethi Rah's twelve white sand beaches The resort’s iconic lap pool is a stunning, adults-only, 30 m (98 ft) long pool that stretches out into the lagoon The pool has a built-in Jacuzzi and a carved stone lounge bed, while a pavilion on the side makes it a stylish chill-out spot Have you ever stayed at One&Only Reethi Rah?
