My new favorite island in Malaysia (never leaving)
all right everybody our island adventure officially begins no problem no problem oh all right before we can start our adventure we should check into our beautiful accommodation let's go so it seems like there are plenty activities to keep ivana and i busy for the next two days but first things first let's go check our room and can you hear that noise guys i love the insects the vibe here is just right i really love the bit of the island up here where you can see a beach on your left and a beach on your right because it's sort of a narrow strip and both sides perfectly clear water beach on both sides and it seems like this whole area is one resort yeah so everyone here is sort of staying together and there's sort of a relaxed community vibe and at check-in it seems like there is an itinerary of scheduled events that you can join up or not join up so i think ivana and i will do all of the events all of the activity yes uh with the exception of snorkeling which is going right now we said you guys go ahead uh we've done snorkeling many times but there's lots of things happening so this video should be action-packed but like i say first things first let's check our room check-in let's go love our little cozy cabin here just perfect so nice and i tell you what the ac is already on yeah that is almost worthy almost worthy of a five-star review just on that alone super hot outside walk into the accommodation the ac has been on look at all the wooden i love the setup and very interesting the bed is in the middle of the room sort of feel like a king feel like a throne and then back here i suppose is the bathroom with some storage uh everything wood into the bathroom walk-in shower toilet and then uh makeup obligatory bathroom selfie right here and then this is ivana's uh put your face on station absolutely great tell you what cannot beat it and you can still smell the wood i think it's new you're right about that it's it's cold and cool and refreshing and you can smell the wood and the view out front is like uh something out of a brochure or something open the door and walk right out to the beach all right with that i say let the adventure begin let's go swimming let's go all right a quick pit stop for lunch and we are on our way to our next activity i will say the food was very good at lunch and the big winner was the prawns which is not surprising because it seems like on all of saba the prawns are really fresh and really delicious although i will say all of the food at lunch was really good which is sort of surprising because typically islands have not the best food and so if you're malaysian and you're coming here you don't need to bring your maggie me because the food here you can trust the entire restaurant chicken and all the fixings was really delicious now i'd like to do a quick 30 second beach review you guys know how we do our beach reviews five points for the vibe and five points for the physical features in terms of the vibe it is not a party vibe it is super family friendly and super quiet everybody has a chalet and everybody has sort of a corresponding private beach to themselves where it's really really quiet and really relaxing ivana and i both agree 4.25 out of 5 for the vibe now in terms of the physical beauty you guys can see the white sand is really really nice as well as the turquoise water the water is almost a perfect score you really cannot beat the color although i will say because of the pine trees the uh sand has a lot of pine needles as well as other debris uh driftwood and stuff so yvonne and i both agree 4.25 so total score 8.5 out of 10 worth visiting for ivana and my eyeballs it's the best beach in malaysia that we've seen so far you guys know we've seen the entire peninsula side of malaysia every state and so it does beat perhentian and kappas it's really quite nice 8.5 out of 10 is a really good score and so with that we are on our way to our first activity which i believe is water sports so i think we're going to be in the ocean splashing and laughing with a bunch of other guests let's go time for some water sports all right front row seats baby front row seats safe safe safe not safe i think we're going to get wet oh no no i think we're going to get wet yo i don't know if the front seat is better or worse maybe it's better for video wow guys 300 meters oh big shout out to banana boarding hello from canada okay okay bye-bye so huge hero to banana boating ivana and i were not sure what to expect because it's our first time banana boating we were only out there for 20 minutes but what a blast because i think we fell off like five times in 20 minutes and six of us on the boat so i made some new friends and had a bunch of smiles hello and so for the next activity we had the choice of taking a boat ride to see sunset or walking on this local path towards the fisherman village so i think everybody walking past us is going to play soccer at the very local court we just stopped and talked to some locals i should say football and i should say field i just had soccer and court so my north american is showing but my point is in five or ten minutes we will be at the fisherman village which should be super exciting and interesting we've got some uh people from the resort who actually were born and raised there some locals who can take us around and show us some neat stuff at the fisherman village so let's go next stop very local very small fisherman village oh look at all the kids it was a football match so now it's a wrestling match so nice to be here i feel like yeah fly on the wall just walking through normally and just saying hi to people right right right live in the campo right in the camp yeah this is deep in the capitol deep in the campbell everything is like sandy beach play play feisty yeah yeah boom wow you are the best man oh all right let's keep going and the information at the sand is like a white scent yeah same sand on the beach that's right beach kampung beach campfire island off the coast of sabah yeah oh this might be the deepest camping we've ever been in deep in the campground today all right oh and the beach is just right here look at this check it out guys beach beach beach this is their kampong i think that boat is here is the boat going to be sunset it was this option or that option that's right and those are our friends from the banana boat on the sunset cruise okay all kinds of action here right that's the first time anyone ever beatboxed her name what's her name oh my gosh wow look at this yo this is great this is the best yeah nice experience to go from the resort to the village i mean it's the best of both worlds it's travel and luxury right adventure and luxury that's right that's true look at this watch out this this guy's got horns on him oh my gosh he's looking at me hey that he's gonna climb on the couch back right now watch it okay that's ghosty he's gonna climb on the cow's back the cow is staring at me you mess with the bull you get the horns he just built this boat wow ah fishing he's a fisherman ah okay everyone in the village almost everyone in the village they're fishermen yeah this is my village yeah hello check it out guys this is driftwood this big piece of wood here and the villagers are slicing it and making it into a board for a house so it's been cut with the saw they're getting their lumber for their house from uh driftwood resourceful nice right kind of special and i guess over here oh look at all these ones here yeah yeah yeah almost done so they're uh making these boards out of wood that washed up from the ocean i guess it's not too wet and they can manage it wow good job so nice so smart so resourceful oh for a fish farm so they're gonna put the net on the bottom put in the ocean and make a fish farm very nice very resourceful there's always a project going on in the campus every every house has got a project they're working on something they're some creative and difficult thing there being resourceful to figure out water oh what a source yeah yeah i would really just using water from you said they'd pick up wait can drink no uh salty no salty yeah okay but water source like a well homemade well yeah like oil yo the campoon is where the is where the work is being done and cats this house is 100 recycled wood so obviously it's still under construction but you can see the slope of the roof at the top and uh the floors are being built and the walls are being built and 100 from recycled wood which is the wood off the uh off the beach like driftwood wow they got their water tanks here on concrete and this house is a hundred percent recycled wood you can see they've all cut their boards out of driftwood wow that takes some serious hard work and some serious perseverance i mean what a job wow what a job no ifana recycled wood house i never saw that before first time bye coming up to a mosque now and this is actually the second one we've seen which is very interesting because this village the people here are from the bajau tribe so they're originally original people native people but most of them have converted to islam so it's an islamic village despite being uh native people and by the way super friendly people keep saying hello and they say hello and they don't know much english i don't think but they say you know they'd like to show it off say hello how are you good morning or what's your name really really nice to talk to everybody as we're walking around super memorable travel experience all right there you have it guys in and out like a fast food restaurant because now we are going to try and catch sunset if we can and as the sun is going down we're going to be thinking things we never thought and feeling things we never felt i've said this one million times in the vlogs but the easiest way to have a thought that you've never had before or a feeling you never had before is to do something you never did before or go to a place you've never been before so the small very local camping village full of hard-working locals was an absolutely must-do experience for us we really loved it hi everybody saying hi a bunch of little girls sitting in a hammock so nice and so uh next stop the sunset if we can catch it in time just great how could this day get any better ivana the best oh i tripped his friend i swear knocking your friend over is the most universal hobby for young boys in canada we do the same thing you see a pile of snow you push a friend in it that was funny hello this is where we can see sunset awesome let's sit and enjoy the show kiddo swimming everybody out waiting for sunset just great oh yeah you say what you want but i'm just a big kid so i play good with kids because i know what a kid's thinking there you have it guys what an absolutely five star let's be clear six star day uh cannot beat it the resort is incredible the banana boat was surprisingly fun so fun it was so fun as you walked through the campoon here the village yeah absolutely amazing shout out to the kid who i was playing teeter-totter with on the log which will in the future be turned into someone's house special place to be we did leave early because sunset is still going down but the those little bugs are coming out that are biting my feet like crazy i've got 10 000 bug bites and ivana says i think the bugs like things that are smelly and i go babe just kick me when i'm down why don't you oh it's all good okay guys thanks for watching our video absolutely loved it we've got lots more coming from sabah today is day seven of 14 day itinerary planned by saboteurism this is probably the best we've seen in malaysia although we did talk to some french people who said they prefer brahantian yeah so it's kind of quiet here that's why it's more party party yeah hello hello so uh i think perhaps is a little bit lower on the pure beauty of the beach but maybe a little bit higher on the five right so you trade one for the other right both amazing beaches shout out to everybody in the whole world love you guys bye after we left the sunset got so good we thought it was
