Where is my passport? [Dutch] Darbandekhan, Iraq Season 8, Eps. 24 Good morning Internet it is 8:30 in the morning and welcome back to the channel My voice has returned a little bit. Still a little bit on the low side   But at least I can talk a little bit again so I'm happy with that Welcome here in Iraq still. Today I'm going to ride to Iran hopefully cross the border And then spend.. spend the night in Iran before returning back into Iraq on the Federal Iraq side So today I'm, this is the last bit of Kurdistan Well besides what happens in Erbil with my bike Uh, I had an amazing experience in Kurdistan I absolutely loved it here. I'm not really looking forward to the border crossing Because I don't think it's going to be a particularly easy one But let's see, maybe it's not too bad Let's try to get Frankie started and then let's go I didn't have a breakfast yet. Um,everybody's still asleep here I think

There's absolutely nobody here, so I'll see if I can find something to eat   On the way So I am now right here, I think just  right where this river is So it's about, I think 60 kilometers or 50 to the border with Iran And then I'm going to ride a little bit in Iran And then I hope to spend the night somewhere here again close to the border with Iraq YES! Not bad.. Okay Start the GPS So basically, from here to the border with Iran And then the stretch through Iran back towards the border with Iraq is 318 km today So I don't know if I'll make that because it all depends a bit on how that border crossing goes But let's see I'll just give it a go Let's go It's pretty windy down here so I hope the wind noise is not too bad Hello Oh, I should have breakfast somewhere here I am pretty hungry What do they have? Chicken 1 second, 1 second Yes Do you work here? Sorry? Okay okay, good Can I get some breakfast here? Okay All right, this is for breakfast, some  freshly baked bread I got some egg Chai Thank you Will be good for my throat And then some veggies Bye Okay now she started in two kicks Which is not bad For an engine that's not super hot because I only went a little bit I just have to.. make a U-turn here And then I do have to make one more stop for fuel Yeah, I have a feeling that this border crossing is not going to be an easy one Just a hunch Last time getting into Iran was, took me 10 hours I think it was So it might be a lengthy process So that means I need patience And patience on an empty stomach is a lot harder So Now I have a full tummy Again they didn't let me pay They didn't let me pay anything and also gave me two bottles of water Just so incredibly nice Wow! Look at those mountains there Wow So yeah, I think it's about 50 km or so to the border Oh, this is a petrol station and I should Yeah, I just want to fill up so I don't have to worry about that Hello Welcome - Thank you How are you? I'm good - Good Hello Where are you from? - Holland Holland - Yeah Ah full please Petrol What's the difference? Good - Good petrol Yeah good - Okay Ah, it's a bit more expensive. Yeah,  take.. give me that one Yeah Full? - Full yeah What's your name? - Noraly Noraly - Noraly - Noraly And your name? Amon - Amon Sabah - Sabah Nice to meet you Why friend? Huh? - Friend friend Me alone Yeah, that's perfect. Thank you

Thanks Thanks He lives there? No English How old? Me? 37 37 3.. 7 I.. 22 22 Huh? Four - 42 - 42 Good good good - I'm sure Okay Oh Goodbye Fuel is done Oh, it's so nice to have a voice back Even though, it's not still not really my voice It's a lot better than in the last video, and now also it's not so sore anymore like in the last video.. talking was actually painful Hello Okay Now I'm not 100% sure of this route I'm now deviating from the main road Um, because the main road goes until Kalar which is pretty much at the border But that's also where the boundary is between Kurdistan and Federal Iraq I think And I still have to cross that river So if I don't do it here then the next point is only at Kalar And I think I won't be able to reach that before your entering Federal Iraq So I think to stay in Kurdistan I need to cross the river here But I'm not entirely sure Um, if this works if .. I get to the border this way Guess I'll find out See there's also a checkpoint here, let's see If they let me through here Hello Passport - Yes What happened? In Erbil they tried to steal my motorbike and then they cut They cut all my wires So but it's working Where did my passport go now? [Dutch] Where is my passport? [Dutch] It has to be in the hotel, because yesterday when I check in I give my passport At the hotel? Yeah, in the hotel and I think maybe they didn't give it back Okay, okay Okay, okay, okay They found it? Aye Thank God I can.. I go pick it up Aye - Look it's not so far Okay, I'll be back Okay, this has never happened before This is so stupid I forgot my passport in the hotel And uh.. yeah, 'cause I gave it to her yesterday when I checked in

And then I don't know we were chatting and I just completely forgot about it That I left it there and then my mind is so busy. I'm all the time thinking about Frankie And thinking about the wires and how I'm going to get everything sorted again And then worrying about the border crossing and there is so much on my mind That I didn't notice that uh I didn't have my passport with me But it's not so bad, I'm really not far Um, from town. Let me see if I'm, yeah It's really not far 30 kms out of town So.. It's not far I'm almost back Not making a lot of progress today Hello It's your son? Hi, are you all right? Yeah, how are you? Everything okay? [Dutch] Everything okay! [Dutch] Very well! [Dutch] He's my dad, he just told me, he say she left the passport last night in the hotel I did Somebody was calling him, ringing him. He was saying uh, you left the passport in there And then, I told him, I say why nobody was there? He said unfortunately, I was sleeping and then when I came she was gone Yeah, it's okay. Don't worry

I'm glad I have it now Yeah, that's good. What you doing there? I'm going to Iran Nice Uh, but only for one day just so I can go back to Iraq But I don't have a visa for Federal Iraq yet But make sure you're going to wear a scarf In Federal Iraq? Oh! Oh yeah, in Iran Yeah, you're right. I forgot about that You need to wear a hijab I know - Must wear a scarf. Be careful I forgot. I'll go buy in town

You will find in the market - Yeah And very lovely to see you, if you need anything We are here for you Thank you so much Enjoy your journey Thank you Thank you Thank you Good luck Thank you so much. Bye-bye Step one is done I have my passport again You know everything happens for a reason right? Because now he reminded me, that of course, in Iran I need to wear a hijab Which of course I know because I have been to Iran before But yeah, I don't know. I've been having some brain fog There's just too many things at the same time that I need to think about And yeah, I completely forgot about uh, the hijab And I don't have a scarf right now I had one So um..

So I'm very glad that he reminded me 'Cause now I can just go in town now and buy a hijab Now I have my passport again And shop for a hijab I just don't think with all this delay that I'll make it all the way Kind of back to the border with Iraq But hey, let's see, let's see how far can I get This is like vegetable market Fish Maybe I can ask my friends from breakfast 'cause they speak good English I have a question Uh, because now I go into Iran for one day So I need to buy a hijab Do you know a shop where I can buy hijab? Please come this way Okay Aye yeah Just a thin one This one Attempt number two to leave town this time with my passport And a hijab Um, a little little better prepared to go into Iran This time for sure they're going to ask me here Why are you here again? They are gonna ask me Hi again No let me through Yay Save sometime I have it! Okay bye-bye Okay Bye-bye Okay Ah, this is not yet the border I'm still uh.. I'm still quite far from the border but anyway Obviously, everybody who comes here is on his way to the border There's not much else here I think so.. They're very nice here Just making sure, do I have water Do I need anything and.. yeah They're redoing the road here I think It's wet asphalt again Same like in Turkey I don't want to ride on that Brand new tarmac To be continued...

.. in the next episode of Itchy Boots.. I go to Iran. Iran
