I Was Told To Avoid These Buses In Sri Lanka
i am about to take my first bus journey ever in sri lanka i'm currently in ella in front of my hotel and i'm waiting for the bus and the goal is to reach a small mountain town called haputale but first we have to go to another town called bandarawela and then we have to change the bus so i'm pretty excited and yeah they told me i just have to wait here and the next bus will come in a few minutes hopefully what are you selling here fish yeah ah where's the fish coming from amanda because here no ocean right oh yeah you buy some fish yeah yeah and he just uh cruising around with his motorbike here ah you even have something to trade here oh okay okay yeah i'm from germany yeah germany yes and tuna fish is very delicious yeah oh yeah you just uh showed up here with the bike tuna how much is one fish uh seven seventy two hundred rupees seventy rupees seventy for for one fish one kilo one kilo 70 rupees per kilo that sounds uh not expensive so how much is this here this is a four ah this is the whole fish here is only 40 rupees yeah 41 rupees because it's half a kilo ah interesting but uh i can't buy a fish i'm sorry yeah yeah it seems to be like the local village fish man riding around the villages ah small fish too angola ah okay okay thank you very much interesting to see selling lots of fish here in the villages what he just did the pieces of the fish that he doesn't use you just throw them here for the dogs to eat it looks like the dog cannot find it oh there's another dog come here we have some fish here for you come here yeah some fish for you right in front of you he doesn't want the fish yes yes ah now he found it huh we have another one okay enjoy the fish meal guys oh they don't seem to be too interested into the fish she's just said that the bus is coming maybe she can hear it i think he said no okay let's see first time using these buses here how much i paid 55 rupees or i have no idea how long it's going to be and maybe we explore a little bit around that town before we continue to the final destination of today which is uh yeah i heard a lot about these buses that they are driving really crazy and fast and especially here in the mountains we are really high maybe i can show you the view oh thank you i even got a ticket yeah it's a little bit the view is a little bit blocked with all the trees but uh it is pretty high here in the mountains so far the driver seems to be okay not too crazy also i think there are no really bus stations here people just hop on the bus whenever they want also the the place where i was that was not a bus station they just told me or when the bus is coming just wave at the bus driver and he will stop wow check out the news i think we have tea fields here and lots of cars coming looks like tourist tour group cars vans that's boring right riding around here with a small van full with the tourists people are always surprised when i see a foreigner here in these rural areas sitting in a local bus you know it's interesting to to ride through or drive through all these villages here have a look at places like this people selling fruits here over there little corner shop foods and some drinks well lovely impressions here once again of rural sri lanka and we are pandarabella where we're going to make the first stop it's a little bit bigger town i'm not really sure how big but uh a little bit bigger and then haputal is also a small town in the mountains i'm not really sure how it works when you want to leave the bus i think you can uh ring a bill off you have that i think you can somehow ring a bell and then the bus will stop whenever you want also you don't need bus stations to uh to get out of the bus i think you can get out whenever you want just not sure i don't see it now i think you just need to push down i think the line here is the bell just do like this and then you can leave the bus whenever you want i think that's how it works but now there was no bell and still the bus is stopping maybe there are certain bus stops as well where the bus is stopping still 100 understanding the system here any one of you can explain it in the comment section feel free to do so i would be curious to to know uh here once again there's no bus stop here and the monk just erased his hand and then the bus stops easy right you don't need bus stops it's way more easy like this i like the system here in germany the bus is only allowed to stop at the bus stations not in between you know but it's way more easy like this i think we can see some key plucker here over there i think this is a g field here some workers over there probably uh just finishing their their morning shift it's about 12 12 30 at the moment all right we came to a small town actually not sure where do i have to get out it's already panderable i don't know maybe let me check on google maps oh yes this is already vandavella i think maybe the next stop we're going out explore a little bit around here that's the train stage maybe that is a good point to get out on a railway station here okay we are here maybe in one hour but i can find the bus here yes okay okay all right let's get out here all right i was told to avoid these buses in sri lanka because the drivers are driving like crazy they are speeding you get motion sick pretty fast but i really don't see any reason why to avoid these buses because it was fully all right now it was now a 35 minute ride i feel good but i don't want to go now later later and yeah we want to go to haputali but i think before we go to the next bus to happy tallah let's explore a little bit around this town see what we can find here maybe have a drink or or something to eat i see something interesting over there a combination of two things food and a nice view we even have a crossing point here but i think please don't run me over so first of all check out the beautiful view here that looks pretty nice right and wow i love the the day today the sun is shining it's beautiful here busy it's bustling around here hello but this is what i saw from the other side of the road hello um you have something sweet yes is this sweet sweet one here okay i would like to to get one of these how much okay one one piece here maybe let's uh try something else i think this is what i ate on the train in the previous video these are dark cookies i also tried dough maybe fried is there a shrimp on top alright a savory filling we have onion inside it's a little bit spicy but i really like the dough oh very good very good no i'm looking like me hell throw to the to the chili one day i think that was the name that i just ate so i'm really craving for something sweet now to wash it down so i think this is just a sorry i think this is just strawberry it's pretty it's not really liquid i was expecting uh this to be a drink but it's more like a pudding oh we have lots of tickets here hello many lottery booths here and these lottery tickets you saw me in other videos buying these figures they seem to be very popular here many many stalls coming there what else we have shoes here flip-flops hello i see a juice bar that looks always good let's see hello i would like to have a juice i cannot come inside yes yes okay what is this milk powder right because i'm actually not sure what is inside the falooda milk powder and water ice cream and this is a vanilla ice cream yeah uh-huh so every falooda with vanilla ice cream chocolate followed oh you can also chocolate talluda okay okay okay so we have milk and ice cream and now the syrup what is this syrup ah okay okay rose syrup okay yeah i think that that's the typical falooda flavor all right okay okay let's do this duty you mix it yeah okay all right let's give it a go thank you very much inside the market you just drive with the truck in here oh that is funny how much is one coconut 90 rupees okay let's get a fresh coconut here as well yeah these coconuts here are really delicious i had a few of them already they're very refreshing and tasty you can't go wrong with a fresh coconut here it's okay thank you oh yeah what could be better than having a fresh coconut on a sunny day now let's see if there's a bus ride away or we have to wait um obviously i have no idea we have to find the right bus excuse me i want to go to haputala looks like a busy bus station here and the guy said i have to walk back i want to go to hakutale over there for 99.99 oh yes okay thank you bus 99 over there everyone tells the different buses here the guy over there sent me back here and he's sending me back over there let's see can't be that hard to find the right bus here right hello yes what time we're leaving three o'clock okay okay i think it's more smarter by sitting there i think i
