this is me with Philippines most dangerous gang in Manila have you ever seen someone getting yes and for the next 24 hours of been given unrivaled access into their dark murky underworld people get St here here to understand their brutal struggles and their deadly way of lifestyle oh he got his hand they will be revealing some never told before stories and the timer starts right now so I'm on my way to visit one of the most dangerous hoods in the Philippines it's a place called appan which literally translates to garbage dump but before doing that I'm going to another H calledo and from what I've been told that place is just as dangerous if not more let's go my friend can you take me to baso yeah my friend how much my friend uh give me the local price what's the local price low price 500 my friend 500 bro at least buy me dinner before you me my friend that's like long way in baso my friend what was the best price first price 500 go to 450 450 bro no my friend just low price 100 what's the best bottom price 400 my friend 400 okay I tell you what if you get me there in one piece we will do 400 okay my friend with the tough negotiations out of the way we headed towards bco a slum notorious for shady and criminal activities naturally the taxi driver felt nervous and he wanted to pick up his friends for Extra Protection how are you how are youo my are you joining yes yeah yeah come okay let's go all I don't know what's happening but I guess when in Philippines you don't ask questions anxiously we continued our way towards Baro but since I knew how dangerous this slum could be I needed to ask this question my brother it dangerous in the bco yes my friend in dangerous is baso is more people is really oh it up okay all right so I guess we need to be careful just take me there one piece okay okay my friend okay let's do it as you can see from around me the seas are started to change and start to look rougher and rougher there's a lot of propy over here and also a lot of homelessness and not even 5 minutes into our journey I got the biggest SC in my life oh what was that wow some sort of went on what was going on oh completely up the tire wow where we can we can fix we can fix yeah nice okay now that is not the advanture start that I wanted going into the hood luckily we've got his Chums over here that pushing the tricycle Mao to fix 50 50 peso okay that's pretty good so 50 peso is about I don't know I think it's less than a dollar or just about there that's that's pretty good bro I'm going on this change yeah TI uh so for now just fix this one and after you change the tire is just just going on new tire how much is a new tire this only 680 680 680 wow okay as we waited for the tire to get fixed my curiosity got the better of me and so I decided to meet some locals policemen policeman yeah keep us safe yeah they're playing some sort of interesting game I've been told it's called pool but believe me me I've never seen P that looks like this before what's this is this coke coke powder yeah Caine cocaine Caine that's pretty good strong it's not cocain baby yeah yeah are you number one yeah show me show [Music] me that didn't win it just as I started to calm down I got a message that stopped me in my tracks and it was a message from from one of the biggest and most notorious gangs in Manila a gang called the Vigilante Crips luckily for me though they promised to take me deep into their territory and to reveal all the dark secrets about their gang including their Shady businesses and if they had ever K someone but since I was unable to meet them until the next morning I decided to continue my way over to baso made it to the entrance of baso this place this is very very rough already bro uh how much was it for the tricycle 400 400 yeah that's a Libra no I'm joking it's 500 and think yeah and uh there's an extra 1,000 than this is so you can fix your motorbike you can fix the tire okay thank you wish me luck bro yeah okay bro take care at this point there was no going back and it was time to step into this dangerous slum it's got water pipes everywhere and round top of it you have all the electricity lines this is one of famous things that this place is known for apparently every time they have a hurricane or a typhoon these electricity wires fall down and they burn up all these houses let's go ahead and see inside as I headed deeper inside the slum I started to feel nervous while everything felt normal so far I knew that this could change at any moment luckily for me though I met a lady that was willing to show me around her Hood unfortunately though she was speaking in an alien language how long have you lived in bco I live in this is but the cute house and very posible sometimes very nice rers made this me no iidea what you said this is going in the in this is the beach yeah this the will okay this speaking English and for okay go go nice to meet you nice to meet you to meet you this stairs go I I will go to the beach yeah okay are you going to show me the beach yeah okay and with that we started to make our way towards the beach only to be interrupted by the local Babushka oh yeah here we go here we go seeing her moves I naturally wanted to join and believe you me I was not [Applause] [Music] disappointed guys get [Music] thank [Applause] you we going end the Vlog here not wanting to overstay my welcome we continue to make our way towards the so-call beach and it was at this point that the crazy reality of this situation hit me wow look at this place though bro kind of crazy huh so I guess this is what they call their Beach the Seco Beach and me bro it is as rough as it gets look at this bco was actually super Infamous back in the 1980s and '90s cuz there was a lot of human trafficking that used to happen over here and apparently people used to come over here and they used to buy kidneys for as little as $500 I'm happy for the what my own simp I'm just a simple woman and I don't have much I don't want the younger girls to end up like me I do whatever I can to earn money collecting and selling rubbish still I hope my story can serve as a lesson for others even though I don't have a family of my own I found friends here who are also homeless we stick together often partying and drinking to escape our situation listening to her story I was genuinely taken back and it was obvious that the people lived a really hard life in the slum compared to the vast riches just across the water but not wanting to end her tour on a bad note she decided to introduce me to her friends who were eager to show me the handmade guns what's this can you show me what happened like a gun like a gun A gun so apparently this is the gun they use over here in the in the hood bco and what what is this acetone acetone what do I do just click just [Laughter] like you're troll another one another one the anticipation of that that scared the hell out of me look at that we got a big Crow as well oh sorry sir sorry sir okay there you go all yours all right so we're going to go ahead and try again hopefully he's not going to troll me all right let's try again holy wow my my ear is gone wow it's amazing at this point I decided to leave baso behind and to make my way to meet the gang boss in his hood and believe you me the stories he promised to tell me wereing crazy but since I still had a couple of hours to kill I stopped by another H called Happy Land and let me just tell you that this place was much worse than baso me bro this place is looking rough already as you can see there's on the floor there's a lot of garbage and apparently this is where they recycle a lot of trash and then they go ahead and sell it and not even 5 minutes after stepping into Happy Land I realized that this Lum was like no other that I've visited before people precariously lived on top of the river the kids swam in dirty water and they even at a dish called pack pag made out of the leftover meat found in the garbage bins and as shocking as that sounds it's a food that I'll be attempting to eat later but first I really wanted to find out what life was like for the people that lived here can you tell me how long you've lived here I know uh 20 I've lived here for 22 years and my family has endured countless tragedies our home has been destroyed multiple times by typhoons and fires sadly during one of those disasters my husband passed away and I had to remarry for a second time so that I can afford to take care of my kids the storms often cause fires when electricity wires fall we receive no government help so if our house is damaged I have to rebuild it myself but since we don't have any money right now we simply have to endure it when I have a full-time job I can earn about $9 a day unfortunately I'm no longer employed because there's no work available since I'm on a contract basis if there's no work there's no income to support my family I am a volunteer at the local church where I plant vegetables like cucumbers and eggs plants I also peel garlic and sell it at the market to earn whatever little I can I have two daughters studying in the province I try to send them money when I can but honestly we have almost nothing my only wish in life is for them to finish their studies so they can have a better life than the one I've had listening to their story I genuinely felt really sad for them but what they decided to tell me next was even more disheartening you can literally see the ground underneath us do you do you ever have accidents and people fall down the last time we repaired our house the wooden floor was so weak that my 12-year-old son fell through into the water below her son is also uh uh have a wound and she's sick so she bring in the hospital because the water is dirty so maybe she is uh she drink dirty water so she's like that at this point I was feeling very emotional and I had to step outside to gather my thoughts even though we think we are living a hard life you come over here and it's literally nothing in comparison I mean look at this people are literally living on top of the water there's garbage everywhere look at that bro that child is just swimming in that water with all that trash and garbage around him but he seems to be pretty happy about it man so who might say anything I where' they go fishing fishing all right so apparently these guys are going to go fishing honestly I can't imagine where they going to catch these fish from and who's going to eat it hey uh con con oh take this go buy ice cream okay thank you many ice cream okay thank you okay okay have a good day sweet kids man no problem no problem after a couple of minutes of gathering my thoughts I decided to help out the family by giving them enough money for the full month but their response really shocked me I really really appreciate your hospitality and if it's okay with you I just wanted to help you out a little bit I know you are off work at the moment so here I have 16,000 this is one month just take a little bit of pressure off you and then hopefully for the next month we can just relax enjoy youself than thank thank you sir blessing tal thank thank you thank you I'm so happy for you thank you thank you thank you you can build your house now or buy something thank you and it goes without saying that I was only able to help out this family because of the support you've been giving me on my most recent videos so if you want us to be able to help out more people in the future then all I ask you to do is just to hit the like button thank you thank you thank you thank you thank youe bless blessing thank thank you thank you I'm very happy thank you then left the family and headed deeper into the hood where I'll be attempting to eat pack pack made from the meat found in the garbage beIN from the previous Day wish me luck so this is the packpack queen and this is where the whole process for packback start as you can see it's um leftover chicken basically so over here in tondo and in happyand what people do is they go to the rubbish and they scavenge whatever leftover meat there is from jollybee from McDonald's and they usually sell it to this lady for about 600 pesos per a huge sack and then she goes ahead and cleans it recook it and then essentially she goes ahead and sells it and Happ it has been 5 years since I started the pag pug business I am a single mom and it is hard work but I have to do this so I can support my children until they graduate from college I used to sell real breakfast food before but it was unaffordable for people so many customers advised me to sell pagpag because life here is stuff is he not disgusted by what he sees anxiously I decided to get stuck in and to offer my help unfortunately for the packpack queen though I was not much help so essentially we go ahead and clean it really really thoroughly if it's kind of bony you go ahead and put it in this one oh in this one okay I got it wrong already and if it's got like a lot of meat we go ahead and put in this one and that one is the one we go ahead and actually refry it so you can have a nice solid piece of chicken there's big pieces huh bro look at that it's like a full breast people just throw their way don't know what people would do what's the point of buying food if you going to when they E jolli Yeah but take it home or something yeah sometimes I also doing that I take home when more me yeah people are so wasteful much I am happy because you're the only Foreigner who was not disgusted and you actually helped me with preparing it can have a job you're too handsome for this job you're so handsome it would be better if you hire me having thoroughly cleaned the leftover meat it was time to recook it to kill any possible bacteria I believe she's going to go ahead and make a chicken adobu and also she's going to go ahead and fry it and this is what it looks like I don't know about you guys but I am definitely getting hungry so I got my lady to go ahead and prepare me some rice and I'm also going to go ahead and try some of that delicious looking chicken hopefully I'm not going to be eating the one that I clean hopefully I'll get the one that she look at that oh man that's looking good smells even better it's good sir is very good very good this is number one pack pack number one number one pack pack there you go guys you heard it from them at this point there was no going back and it was really time to eat this packpack all right let's give it a try that is good good super that is freaking good man what's not too L as I continue to eat the pack bag I couldn't help but have this one lingering thought in my head coming to a place like this is kind of a I guess an interesting thought experiment like obviously throwing food away is like very wasteful and very bad but at the same time if people didn't throw food away then places like this wouldn't exist so it's a little bit of a mind uh yeah definitely makes you think oh I know I am very happy right now this actually delicious and if you didn't believe me how good this is guys 5 minutes later every single muscle of chicken got demolished as shocking as this food might look to you watching this video it was actually really tasty and so I decided to share it with everyone around me so that whole meal cost me about 30 P which is about 50 cents us so I went ahead and got these man some food as well I think what we'll go ahead and do is just buy out the whole lot and give it out to people as well Mao for everything 18 18 for for everything rice adobu oh discount there you go she gave me 100 PES discount as well poy is discounted she's giving me a 100 P of pogy discount I'll pay you later all right so let's he will pay with his body you will get your you'll get 100 pesos worth of Love single M he's a single mom I'm a single [Laughter] [Music] Daddy goe and get this who's this going to [Music] yeah there you go bro enjoy look at that we got a big F going on over here everyone loves ppack including myself before heading deeper to explore what the rest of Happy Land was like I really wanted to reward the packpack queen for her generosity so she's going to go ahead and give me a discount thank you so much for being so generous that's $100 for you thank you for being so generous and thank you for showing me and uh I will see you tonight okay waiting for you come back and not even 5 minutes into exploring deeper inside this Hood I got invited to play a basketball game which is the national sport of the Philippines [Music] [Applause] with my incredible basketball skills out of the way I decided to play a fun game with the locals I bought four basketball jerseys and I wanted to share it with them but on one condition they of course had to score a basketball first and let me just tell you now these guys wereing terrible no JY no Jersy okay okay okay who's next Who's Next okay okay you're next you're next okay okay it's going to be a f over here okay okay okay it's crazy over here bro no JY Noy let's see let's see is she going to get a Jersy no no JY no Guys these guys are terrible Filipinos good at basketball watch okay okay sabotage sabotage [Applause] let go let go two more more two more all right let's see let's see if my man's going to get in come on please get it dou a touch dou a touch one more one [Music] more let's go have one more guys one more one [Applause] more and if that's not worth liking the video for then I don't know what is so go on click it this is the Filipino national team having built as much Good Karma as I could I anxiously made my way to meet the local gang leader and believe you me this meeting is not for the faint of heart how morning man nice to meet you I'm good man uh I'm Kid Rock uh leader of the Vigilante group vigilan Crips welcome to tondo Manila and I'll show you some the dangerous hoods here right away I was Keen to get stuck into some important questions as I was genuinely concerned for both of our safety is it dangerous in these hoods uh people get stabbed gun shot here bombed here but there's nothing to worry I you're safe here now I'll take care of and with that we started to make our way towards the gang leaders Hood a dangerous hood that's Infamous for his feelings Pro and regular sings but first he wanted to show me where his life of crime initially began so now we made it to the Church of Bondo this is one of the holiest places and one of the most peaceful places here in tondo brother why did you bring me here uh because uh we have a lot of battles here a lot of fights with different C gangs uh it looks like a holy place and peaceful place but outside there's a lot of troubles going on here with the introductions out of the way the gang leader was K to tell me about his dangerous lifestyle church this is tondo church a place where a lot of rivalries and gang activities happen R that's my school over there he terrorized the school the enemy used to wait for me here but my group would always come and help in the church midnight mass would always turn into a midnight Massacre can you explain to me what types of weapons you use back in the days is it guns is it or what else did you use only improvise improvise uh uh UHA fbox favorite weapon fbox uh so Solid Rock with gunpowder yeah bombs away you just throw it and it will blow this is how he lost his arm when a homemade exploded in his hand the explosion was so severe that they had to amputate it infe his arm got infected so they decided to cut it off to stop the spread of the infection this was all because of the homemade grenade with that crazy story out of the way we left tondo church behind and we started to make our way towards his hood now we're we're going to the most dangerous ghetto here in t the G Hood gantic RPS even more dangerous than this one even even dangerous than know than Smokey Mountain baso wow uh Happy Land as we started to Edge closer to his hood I knew that it was way too late to back out and it was really time to explore how dangerous the slump could be wish me luck this is parola a place no one dares to mess with Killers drug addicts and gangsters you name it they're here even the police are not allowed to step in without our permission every street corner has a lookout gang members armed with and just waiting for someone dumb enough to step in and if you do you're not coming out alive feeling apprehensive I tentatively asked my next question what do you mainly fight over is it GS is it drugs is it tery what is the main reason you fight sometimes it's drugs other times it is girls but really it could be as simple as a wrong look you think to yourself is this guy tripping before you know it it is all out War homemade shotguns even arrows that's just how it goes was here look around us as far as your eyes can see that's Bondo our mortal enemies territory for me this is all I've ever known I grew up here in the middle of gang wars and honestly I don't even remember how it all started it was just the way life has always been my friends pulled me into the gang and after that everything went downhill I dropped out of school got into trouble and now I'm just a street Thug but I'm not ashamed of it nervously I now wanted to ask him about the question that has been on my mind since we first met have you ever seen someone get in yes one of our brothers chased an enemy down and cornered him the guy slipped and fell our brother stepped on him and multiple times he didn't stop until it was over it was right there next to tondo church after the midnight mass another time someone got in the neck and was eliminated on the spot that's how intense and ruthless the Vigilante Crips are Vigilant you asked me if I've seen someone get eliminated in reality I've seen too many especially in our Hood with that crazy story out of the way the gang offered to take me deeper into their hood and it was an offer which I obviously couldn't refuse unlike before things are slowly starting to change we used to live in Shacks but now we live in these houses unfortunately though things haven't changed too much my uncle died a few days days ago and this is his grave my unle my unle is dead someone's dead sorry to hear that bro seeing someone dead right in front of me really shocked me but I really needed to persevere and to ask my next question what type of businesses were you involved in when you was in the gang is it drugs is it money I used to be a but I eventually stopped it brought too much Carnage and Bad Karma people were dying all around me when I started a family I knew I had to change if I didn't my family might have got dragged into all this don't get me wrong we're still a gang but it's not like before we still hang around all the time but we don't jeopardize our families we're still in the game but we just lay low the new generation the vigilante juniors are the ones to carry our Legacy having leared about their crazy past I decided to ask them if they regretted any of their past actions but their answer really shocked me what is your biggest regret in life I regret nothing I joined the gang because it gave me joy and a sense of belonging it started when I was a teenager I was curious and that Curiosity led me here I wanted to to be a gangster you ask if I have any regrets being a vigilante none no regrets so everyone here is to be in the gang yeah yeah the ladies too yeah wow what age did they join no b no b 14 14 years 14 years 14 years old wow years and why you know 22 now they're now Grand now 19 really OHA super Manda but now they Grandma now Grandma not Grandma seeing the positive atmosphere around me I was eager to find out if this gang was willing to change their lives today we try to remain peaceful and we no longer start wars unless the rivals wanted to start something in order for us to survive we can't just use our strength we must rely on our brains if you only use strength you'll only end up in two places dead or in jail and with that he decided to introduce me to this new generation and honestly speaking I feel like they have a really bright future in front of them [Music] at this point I felt really conflicted here I am with one of Philippines most infamous and dangerous gangs yet it just felt like a big family to me even though we are the most dangerous hood in Manila here it feels like family look at this big big family this is the new vigilante CPS we used to be troublemakers always chasing conflict and causing chaos but now we've left that life behind no more gang wars and no more destruction these days we're focused on what truly matters our families and close relatives that's right life is peaceful here now the Youth of today don't know how lucky they are they never had to experience the old days back then it was gunshots and danger around every corner but that's all in the past now we prioritize our families and hard work every Sunday we take the day off to drink hang out and share quality time together this is how we live [Music] now although things have changed some traditions still remain we still do a 30-second Massacre when someone wants to join we'll beat them down and hard No cameras no footage and when it's over we leave our on them burning it into their skin it is a reminder that once you're in there's no leaving thank you Ali you are welcome to the hood always hey and if you like this video you're going to love this one so go ahead and check it out
