I Never Knew PHUKET Thailand Has Muslim Area!!
what's going on my beautiful people right now I am here in Phuket Thailand now most of the time you guys might see phuket you probably see the same old things bang tao Beach the the debauchery that goes on in Phuket but there's so many sides to Phuket that people don't show and one of them is the fact that there is a very heavily Muslim population here because this city is has a lot of Muslim people and this area of bang tao that I'm in right now is the Muslim area and I'm right here in front of this Masjid known as Masjid al- mukaram which we will visit as well but first I want to show you guys this area you know like it's dominantly Muslim so you have a lot of halal foods you have a lot of Muslim people here and uh like I said I just don't think this side of Phuket is explored as much as obviously the other side is so today I'm going to show you another side of Phuket so let's go we we'll come back to this Masjid in a bit this is the biggest mjid in this area of bang tao as you can see Salam alikum this is known as mukaram mosque in bangau that's the name of this area so we're we're going to we're going to kind of explore the beach is not too far from here as well so let's do that asalam Alum so there's some foods right outside the oh they got some fried chicken here as well you can see right I mean anywhere in Thailand you'll always see uh food you knowum am uh we're going to walk around this area a bit and discover all the Wonders that are here and see Asam Alum any uh coffee coffe cup all right so we're going to get some local puket coffee uh coffee Al amazing guys that's why you got to travel and and really talk to people it's you you get to see how 80% Muslim 80% wow wow masah or so I was asking him what is the special thing about his village his area BAU he said honestly it's been a beautiful place from the beginning the fact that it's almost 80% Muslim in this area of puket you know it's a love people of love so whether you're Muslim or not you come here they will welcome you but if you're Muslim and you want to try halal food experience Muslim Hospitality in Thailand and still have the beach not too far which I'll show you guys you can come here to uh bang and PUK chicken chicken pleas some special puket Fried Chicken from my brother what's your name sadik sadik from my brother sadik we got some special fried chicken so he used to study in laor well what do you think about Pakistani people in Pakistan I asked him what does he think about Pakistani people he says he wishes he could stay there because the people are very welcome he's saying like you know when you when you hear about Pakistan on the media they only talk about the negative things oh they're terrorists they're bad people they're dangerous but when you go to Pakistan you will only experience love kindness welcoming and I think it's the same anywhere where Muslim people good M so guys as you can see come support my brother sadik he's right in front of again he's not taking my money and what a beautiful M this is guys ma mam I'll show you guys real quick inside but you can see from the outside it's absolutely beautiful so I'm going to show you guys real quick what the musjid looks like on the inside wow so quiet because it's not prayer time yet you can see how beautiful it is in here I mean how blessed and lucky am I guys to be able to travel the world and meet so many beautiful people around the world including my Muslim brothers and sisters it's just absolutely amazing I really am blessed that's the dome right there now Islam has been around in this area of Thailand for you know you're talking hundreds of years this area is very close to the Andaman sea puket is obviously right on the water it's an island it's actually the largest island in Thailand covers about 500 square kilm Islam was introduced to puket as early as the 14th Century so you're talking the malaise the Japanese people the Arabs the Chinese they were all trading along this Andaman sea because of the sea being so close the trade happened in this area and puket obviously is a full island so you know with all the trade going on uh especially from the Arabs coming in that's how Islam was actually brought to not just this area puket but Thailand in general and obviously from there it spread at the time in the in the early 14th century you know these weren't countries yet these were kingdoms and sultanates and uh the Sultan of kadada actually had a large influence of on this part of uh Thailand as well um whether it be the south of narwa batani and also puket and so yeah that's basically how Islam made its way here and it's just beautiful to see even though in in a majority Buddhist country you have such a large uh Islamic population and people kind coexist no problem there's no there's no friction you know that you see here in Thailand and that's pretty cool to see I think this sign is missing a letter all right guys so now we're going to go to what puket is known for obviously people most people who come to puket come for the beaches the beach beach BAU Beach how to go uh you can go that way that way Long Walk yes it's a long walk no problem okay brother thank you all right guys so we're going to walk as I do here at Meer travels we walk we use our feet and it's cool cuz you get to see nice things along the way meet people and you can see how people live here you know in tight quarters these houses something about beaches you know no matter where you go around the world beach towns or Beach areas always have that same kind of vibe the people are more relaxed and chill uh the air is very nice uh this time of the year Bangkok and uh where I'm usually at in the north of Thailand is known as burning season so you know this where they burn a lot of uh like the farmers burn crops and old garbage basically and it causes a lot of pollution so around this time of the year A lot of people do come to puket because this area the air is so fresh so nice so beautiful guys just walking down these tight little streets where cars can't even fit only bikes can come through here it's very interesting for the people that live here you can hear the chickens crowing some nice little houses so as I'm walking I see this sign that says tsunami Hazard zone right here on this corner and basically um this so I went to band AE recently which is the city that was affected by the tsunami in Indonesia like the one that got really torn apart and this area of puket or just puket in general was really affected by the storm storm in 2004 as well andam alikum brother how are you good okay where are you from uh UK originally oh nice man another brother here I'm just making a vlog about this area showing the Muslim Community are you you from here or uh I'm stayed in B oh nice tonight been how is it nice brother enjoy your trip man nice to meet you man so uh as I was saying yeah so this community was really AFF Ed by um the tsunami in 2004 so uh a lot of the houses and things that you see had to be rebuilt cuz obviously the proximity to water so that's why they have these uh tsunami Hazard zones so I guess those are the areas that you have to be really careful of once the tsunami is coming if the tsunami comes hopefully they don't have that again though need some water I see a shop here I'm going to stop and get some water I think they have some water alikum 10 okay all right guys got my water you got to stay hydrated out in these streets you don't want to get heat exhaustion cuz it's hot when that Sun hits you when that Thai Sun hits you it's different man look at this random gas station right here in the middle of this road and one thing you'll notice also in puket is there's a lot of uh Russian writing on signs because of the prevalence of Russian people I met a few people from dagistan in the Majid before there's a lot of Russian people here as well so you definitely uh you definitely see uh a lot of Russian translation you'll see some Arabic too obviously because of the prevalence of Muslims and Arabic people that visit look at this just a field with one random cow just hanging out what up cow and Ladies and Gentlemen Just a 10-minute walk from the Majid I was at and look at this man look at where we are 10-minute walk and I am at probably one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen in my life Welcome to bangau beach let's make our way in you can see I'm going to take my shoes off and head inside let's go check it out man wow hello kid just playing around this is like a little puddle oh it's hot oh man the sand is hot oh no wonder why my my friends are sitting here how are you brother hello how are you doing oh rasa man y man yeah from puket from puket what's your name bro guys this water is so blue as you go more deeper and deeper you see it gets Bluer and Bluer and then you have these aming amazing rock formations with houses built on top of them I mean this is just like paradise right here you can see everybody's hanging out the water's actually pretty cold but the sand is hot the water is actually very nice and cool so if you want to just cool off your feet get inside I don't swim in the ocean or in general for that matter because I don't know how but if you are a swimmer this is the place to so you can see the vibe and atmosphere here is totally different you know literally a 10-minute walk and it's a completely different place but this is the beach guys if you want to just come hang out on the beach stop pancake got to try a pancake Roti moment yeah no problem what's your special Roti it's Thea and milk sugar and milk banana pancake okay can I try the sugar and milk pancake yes one just one please for me h s yeah you from puket yeah from the vage huh from the V from the village from the Muslim side many Muslim people here huh yeah not on the beach yeah not on the beach but yeah here all Uh Russian look like a lot of Russian people yeah yeah you don't see a lot of Muslim people on the beach obviously cuz most people are just walking around here half naked but you know you do have Muslim business people here so uh Muslim people in the village in the village yeah I went to the Village to the mukaram m I come from there my house near ah nice how long how long you do this business 20 years more 20 years mallah long time and my friend also same also yes hello same place this place yes it's out this side ah what's your your name business is pancake Roti yes okay so guys if you're ever on this beach in bangau you can come support the and half mix okay and she is Buddhist Mas stay together is no problem yeah that's the very nice thing about Thailand Muslim Buddhist everybody Chinese yeah this is okay boies yeah everybody many nationality nationalities religion and no problem no problem if you come to Thailand you have to try Roti your English is very good mallah you speak very good English how did you learned just from ah Doan okay normally yeah you know we are too old to work with the company you're very young you have young energy masallah have to work with like the own bu but this is your business H yeah yeah she said you're her friend so I have to also get something from you okay uh you have fresh coconut yes sir how much is one fresh coconut 100 100 Buck okay cop one please thank you you can take a SE I bring for you and okay all right guys we're going to sit down by the beach and just have my little snack have a nice fresh coconut and talk to you guys cuz you know that's what I do so actually I mentioned before that puket is actually the largest island in uh in Thailand obviously Thailand has many islands but this island is is about 500 1 70 square kilm and uh when you ride through through the island I took a ride this morning from the north side to here it was so it's so big you know you're not used to seeing that large of an island but this is huge it's massive it's hard to describe until you come here but every side of the island has a different vibe different beaches there's my fresh coconut here in puket actually puket comes from the word buket a Malay word buket which means Hills as you can see this place is very hilly has a lot of Hills so uh Legend has it that the name comes from the word bit I don't know how correct that is you guys can correct me but with that being said guys it's been a wonderful day here exploring this Muslim Community here in puket I got a lot more videos coming soon very similar going to be exploring some micr Muslim communities and different
